The apartment is located close to the University and many local attractions. We were able to walk everywhere. The apartment is quite roomy and the views of the town and river are beautiful. Isabel and Nuno were very nice and answered questions promptly and were very helpful during our stay. I would stay here again in the future and recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a convenient apartment in Coimbra.

This apartment is amazing. The location is perfect to explore all things Coimbra. The university is a short walk away. The apartment is in a small area of shops and restaurants that are off the beaten path, yet the main town is just down the hill. Nuno and Isabel went above and beyond to assure that our stay was amazing. They were very responsive and accommodating. The apartment is light and airy, comfortable, charming, and the views over Coimbra and the river are amazing!

The apartment is very large, clean and tasteful. There are more than enough kitchen utensils. The beds are comfortable and clean, as are the bathrooms. Amelia and Nuno received us with attention and felt very well accommodated. Our apartment was number 2 and the only difficulty encountered was that there are a few flights of stairs (my parents are older and we had a heavy suitcase), however this is mostly found in the Coimbra accommodation. Overall I felt very well accommodated and would definitely go back :). Thank you, Amelia, Nuno and Isabel.

We had a wonderful stay at Marcelo’s, the location is superb! Apartment is nice and cozy, very clean and convenient, great bathroom and nice kitchenette. We were greeted at check-in with friendliness and great tips, and we could reach our host any time by phone (we had an issue with getting into the apartment, just one quick phone call and all was resolved.) Our 1.5 days in Coimbra were just enough to see the most important sights and walk around town (p.s. Cafe Santa Cruz fado is wonderful). Thank you for the lovely stay!

Nice apartment. Convenient to both the train station and the Praça 8 de Maio (the plaza right in front of the amazing Igreja de Santa Cruz and at the start of the main shopping street) - and no hills to climb. Margarida checked me in and gave me a warm and friendly welcome and a great overview of Coimbra and how to navigate the city. Marcelo was super responsive and provided good info and recommendations on a sign in the unit. Two thumbs up for the heater and washer/dryer!

A great spot with everything needed. Marcelo is super cool and very helpful. We met him in front of his parking. The location is perfect to visit that beautiful city and the fabulous University of Coimbra. The neighborhood is quite lively at night! We would stay at Marcelo’s place again.

A great host that offered the little extras that were really appreciated. It’s in a good location at the bottom of old Coimbra so you do not have to haul luggage up the steep hills. And it was much roomier than most most places we stayed and a nice change to spread out. We highly recommend!

Great Airbnb! I stayed for 3 weeks in 2 people. We were going on foot to the University of Coimbra. Markets, bars and restaurants nearby. Silent. There is a washing machine and dryer in the building. Only problem is the shower that cools down after a few minutes of bathing, but I already knew that it is something common in Coimbra!

Great space, modern, renovated in the center of Coimbra, close to everything. Perfect for those who want to settle for a period to do tourism or study.

Amazing and relaxed place run by the very friendly and helpful host Julien. Especially the pool was outstanding! The big tent had much of space even for our seven month old daughter who likes to turn around the whole day - it was paradise for her. We enjoyed everyday breakfast and the pic nic area offers a shared fridge, electricity and fresh water to prepare cold snacks. The village Penela (30min walk) offers small shops and restaurants, a bigger supermarket can be reached by car within 10min. All together we had a great time an will defenitely come back!

Julien’s rustic “open air” stay was beautiful and we had a wonderful time! So peaceful and close to the charming town of Penela. I would recommend this stay!

We were only passing (only 1 nuiit) and we could not enjoy the places. Our experience was still perfect. We slept in a tent and we were very comfortable. Julien is a fantastic host; Friendly and takes care of guests senses. Lunch in the common room (bar) is conducive to trade. We met new people and exchanged with them, it was very nice. I recommend.

The Stone House is much more than a simple house. Filled with good energies, water energy and earth energy that bring us back to our own roots and our own essence. We loved the bucolic landscapes, the very present sound of the waters, which gave us a lot of peace. We even made friends in the neighborhood ducks, ducklings and dogs

The views from the apartment are just magnificent! The sunset in one direction sets the city aglow in the other and makes it difficult to go back out but there is much to explore so one must venture out! The place is very comfortable and stylishly decorated too! We enjoyed our stay very much. We also loved the suggested restaurants and ate at 2 of them - two ends of the spectrum Mimo for local flare and Refeitro da Baixa for a fabulous meal and both were wonderful! This place does have many stairs as others mentioned and it's way up in the hills above the city but if that's okay with you, then it's a lovely place to stay.

The place is just lovely, the perfect to place to hang out and relax a couple of days and discover the surrounding area. The house is super nice, with a lot of rooms & bathrooms. There is a pool ans barbecue, if you want to stay and relax for a couple of days. Everything was very clean and the surroundings are very calm. Silvia is a very attentive and nice host, will receive you and explain everything.

This accommodation was a pleasant surprise. It is about 20km from Coimbra but it is worth to walk a little more and spend the night in this quiet place and with great cost benefit. D. Silvia is the warmest and most lovely host and a pleasure to meet and chat with. She is also incredibly thoughtful, providing us with tips and help on our endeavours in the region and assistance with our lack of the Portuguese language! The house and pool are wonderful, and the apartment is big enough for a larger group though we were the only two staying. It was spotless. It was also perfectly situated central to many places we wanted to visit in Coimbra and Gois. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Silvia for sharing your home with us! My experience in Fatima's place was great, the place is central, clean, nice view, you get good privacy, feeling so good so far. Unfortunately, the rule is after 3 days stay you can use the kitchen...I was exactly 3 , I didn't ask if I could use the kitchen since I read the rules on the profile, that is the only shame. Probably if you ask you can use it. Was my responsibility don't ask. But the rest is fantastic. She amazing host, she picked me up from the train station and my last day we went out for a coffee in a place where you can feed the animals ...was marvelous... She is so friendly and she knows how to treat her clients.

The accommodation is in a great location 15 minutes walk from Placa Republica and the center. The rooms are cozy and clean and Fatima is a sunny person, polite and able to put you at ease.

Accommodation offers exactly what you need for a short visit. The room has a bed, table, chair, lamp and storage space. The absence of heating may be less pleasant in the cold part of the year, but this is common in this area. The spacious and still perfectly clean bathroom is filled with warm water, towels and the view from the window offers a wonderful view of the surrounding nature. There is also a kitchen with basic amenities including an electric kettle and a toaster.

I have only stayed in Luisa's place for a week, but it was a very nice first week in Coimbra for me. The house is in the old center of the city, close to the historical sights, the university and any shop you may need, and bus stops are only a few minutes away. The room is small but has everything you need and Luisa and her family are really nice and hospital people, always ready to help with tips about life in the city.

Lovely apartment, perfect for two people. A great view across the small valley from the balcony. There is a small grocery store next to the cafe which is probably 50 meters away. It had the basics including eggs from their chickens, and a young lady who spoke very good English. This location was a great base to explore the area including hiking to some Schist villages. A car is necessary unless you are walking the trail that passed the edge of the village. Parking was never a problem. There is a lovely river park in this village for swimming when the weather is hot.

Wow !!!seriously beautiful, the room was cleaner than clean , furniture so cool , like old but well looked after . Hosts were spot on , friendly , informative and accommodating. Sleeping with the cidadas and breeze was just like slipping in to dream world, the woken by the bells of the church, in the distance , I could have died there .

This place is a real gem. first note though - the exterior photo of the apartment looks like it is remote - but it is actually in a little village. The view from the aprtment balcony is awesome - looks across a lush green flat valley over a river to the mountains beyond and towards the setting sun which is spectacular. The bed is really comfortable and it is quiet which for me was great for a good nights sleep. The wifi code (this is in march2019) is not the one in the airbnb listing it is selotaped to the bowl on the table in the sitting area of the apartment - it is very very fast wifi - excellent for streaming. The hot water is very hot which is great too. When you arrive to the location from airbnb on google maps you need to go to the cafe d avo mila and ask for the key. Parking in the village is restricted but it is possible with a little care. al in all for the price this place is a gem.

It was so much better than I thought. The landlady was very kind and helpful. If you come to sightseeing, location is very close to old town and is recommended because it is close to bus terminal or train station. However, if you are in the old town and have a bit of a hill and the house is on the 4th floor, you will have a sweat when you go up.

Luisa and her family are very friendly hosts. Although we have confirmed our arrival time very late, they made themselves available to welcome us. Throughout the trip we exchanged very easily with them and they did not hesitate to give us advice for us to enjoy the best the city. On housing, it is perfectly located in the heart of the historical center, in a lane that does not lack charm. The essential places such as the university, are just steps away, making it the ideal location. The room is consistent with the description.

The apartment is clean, it meets expectations. You have to walk 25 min to the center but it's ok. The response was immediate and the apartment was already close. I arrived in the evening and was able to book it for the same evening. All the necessary equipment was present.

Good ubication

The flat is very close to the old part of the city. It’s very quiet, clean, comfortable and with good vibes (the little details make you feel that it’s a space arranged by architects :). It’s perfect for short stays for 2 people - we were a family of 3 and we still enjoyed it a lot! Communication with the hosts was very swift and easy and they were trying to make the stay as pleasant as possible, letting us leave the luggage earlier than agreed check-in hour. Highly recommend!

We love the stay. The apartment is small, but the use of space was excellent. Great decor, very good bath and super interesting books at our disposal for reading. Access to the building can be a little difficult, as it is in an alley where cars cannot pass. However, a few meters away, with any luck, there is a street where it is possible to park. Elsa's place is an amazing place to stay. It is located in a great area, very near the historic center by walk, and also near good restaurants. Elsa is very friendly, and the house has everything we need even if you are traveling in vacations or work. I will stay there more times for sure!

The house is very beautiful and the cleanliness in front of everything. Host's availability to check in at night was a very beautiful gesture. The room was clean and spotless; Next time in Coimbra I'm sure I will stay there!

It was a nice located and cheap shared flat, 10 mins from main attractions of Coimbra. The host was kind and gave us some useful tips about sightseeing, recommend :)

The attention and care of Dona Fátima and Mr Edson were impeccable. Room exactly like the photo, everything very clean and well maintained. Complimentary yummy tea and cookies. My wife and I were very well accommodated.

Excellent experience. Manicured space, very attentive and caring hostess. Since I didn't know the region, Dona Fatima picked me up at the train station! I have never seen such a special care !! João was a very welcoming and helpful host, and I can totally recommend staying there. A couple of practical things that might be useful to know, depending on what matters to you: You're within easy walking distance of a couple of shopping malls, so it's really handy for any groceries or other day-to-day shopping you might want to do. The tourist shops in the city centre are about a half hour walk away. This is not a "posh" place: some of the furnishings and decor have definitely seen better days. Everything is comfortable and functional, and I had no problems, but if you're trying to impress someone, this might not be the place to pick. ;-) There is fairly constant noise from traffic (and the college over the road when it's open), even with the windows closed; no more than you'd expect from the middle of a city, but you're definitely not tucked down a quiet side street. Overall, a great value place to stay if life brings you to Coimbra! :-)

I stayed 1 month in João's house and I had a great time. No problems at all. João is very welcoming and the house is cozy. Hope to be there soon again.

Clean and tidy room in a cozy flat. The house is quite close to the centre and it is easy to park the car in front of it, for free. Carolina set some simple clear rule for the house. However, she is a nice and friendly host.

Staying at Carolina's house has been great, has a huge heart and has treated me like I was her little sister, I am completely grateful to have gone there and to have met her, highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel at home. Her pets are very polite and her housemate a charm, besides she offered me all the help I need, very nice conversations and a really good treatment. Friendly, fun and very affectionate, she is the perfect hostess!

I only needed to stay one night but I'd definitely come back. Great value for money. I think they gave me a bigger room than I'd booked but i really didn't mind the en suit bathroom. Also great kitchen facilities. Love the local area too, beautiful walks nearby to waterfalls.

Had a great two week stay at Elsa’s place! Great location! Just a few minutes walk from the city center. The room I stayed in was very good with a really nice view. Two shared bathrooms and shared kitchen. There were some ants in the apartment, but not many in the bedroom luckily. Sometimes the toilet paper was out, but cleaning staff came every two days or so with more. All in all a good stay for a very good price!

The Elsa apartment is cozy, bright, clean, sufficiently equipped and quiet. The access by car is easy and the parking easier even. I would repeat without doubt.

Elsa was a great hostess. Always helpful and available to help when needed. One of the best experiences I had on Airbnb. If you want to stay in Coimbra this is a great place, with restaurants and public transport nearby.
