This is a perfect place to stay if you are at the marina. Everything you need and more!

This place was just as epic as you'd guess. We had a large group of 14 which is slept extremely comfortably. Private beach access and a massive lawn gave us plenty of space to relax and play games for the weekend vacation. Would definitely recommend.

Our host wasn't able to be there when we arrived, but was very communicative and gave us all the information we needed. Note that there is air conditioning in each of the rooms but it is not central, this isn't a problem, just for awareness - you should keep the doors close to best circulate the area you are in. The area is very remote - it was very peaceful and the bay view is stunning. However, there is only one restaurant within a ten minute drive (the other is closed) and anything else you need is about half hour away so be prepared for either a bit more driving or bring groceries in advance. All in all a wonderfully peaceful stay!

We chose Peter's place to celebrate our 6 year anniversary and as our home base for the Seagull Century ride in Salisbury. We weren't disappointed. Peter texted us and made sure we got in safe and sound. We ended up being rather late so he left instructions for us. He was responsive to our questions and checked on us to make sure we knew how to seal the front door to keep the wind out. The place is comfy and welcoming. The place is well stocked with pots/pans, etc and games. The TV worked great- even in the wind. The seclusion of the location is just what we needed to turn off and just enjoy each other's company.

Peter texted us while we were in our way to check in and guide us. He was waiting outside when we arrived to welcome us. Penny arrived a short time later and was very friendly and reiterated to let them know if we needed anything. The apartment itself was quit nice and as described. The property is lovely and has the potential to be an absolute showcase. Peter and Penny even offered us Po Boy sandwiches one night. They are very nice and accommodating.

Peter is a wonderful host and made sure we felt welcome. Thearea around property is fabulous - we swam in the water, went by kayak around the peninsula and discovered two eagles nesting and a secluded creek to let the kayak drift very peacefully. Catching 22 crabs and eating them was a highlight of our stay.

The location is beautiful and remote and this place received wonderful reviews. The host died just before our visit and perhaps that contributed to the conditions of the apartment being less than I expected in the way of cleanliness and security. I was unable to stay in this place for the following reasons: The kitchen was dirty with a greasy, gnat-covered range hood, the bathroom contained a half used small bottle of mouth wash and old looking bathrobe, as well as the toilet paper rolls being in direct contact with a toilet plunger. Finally the door didn't lock from inside or out which given the remoteness may not have concerned me however at least one individual who watched us check in did not inspire confidence that I or my possessions would be secure in an unlocked apartment. I do not like to judge people based on appearances, however, when I have a gut feeling that I am not safe, I abide by it. I left without staying here and requested a refund due to the place not meeting my expectations for cleanliness and safety. I had not planned to write a review at all, however, since the host wrote a review about me which I cannot view until I write a review I am writing this. Also, another AirBnB host recommended that I warn others about the conditions of the apartment.

This is a great, dog friendly getaway. I loved my stay there and my dog loved it even more. The kayaking was a fun surprise. It felt like an expensive beach getaway.

A great place off the beaten path. We were in town for Ironman Maryland and this was a nice, quiet, spot. Peter could not have been more accommodating, the place was clean, cozy, and easy to make yourself comfortable. Views are spectacular! Wish we could have stayed longer.

We really loved our stay here. It's very homey and open. We were thrilled that we were able to bring our dog, and that she had a friend already there! Our hosts were very friendly and able to recommend different locations to visit. We loved being able to use the kayaks, and took advantage of that several times! It is an incredibly beautiful location with stunning views - especially at sunrise and sunset. It felt very private and secluded, and we were really able to relax.

The Deerpond Carriage House is beautiful. The setting is stunning, overlooking the water and beautiful gardens. The Carriage House is perfectly appointed with the right combination of furnishings and decorations to make it feel like a home in the country. The kitchen has everything you need. The bathroom is private with a shower/tub. The bed is amazing - slept like a log. The house also has DirecTV with a DVR. The owners are friendly, down-to-earth, really nice people. I can't promise every guest will be as lucky as us, but we received freshly baked blonde brownies and pumpkin bread during our stay. Only 15 minutes from Cambridge, the location is private yet close enough to town. I can't recommend the Carriage House more highly. We'll be back!

We had a great time staying at Ashley's house. We enjoyed the location, especially the dock from where we could go crabbing. The location is remote, making it very quiet, which was a nice getaway. The house was in good condition and provided the amenities we expected. Our first trip to the area was great!

This is a very warm and comfortable home and has every thing you could need to have a great vacation.

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Our kids, ages 3 and 5 loved watching the sunsets and exploring the Chesapeake. We flew kites, roasted marshmallows and relished in the quiet. A wonderful reprieve from city life! The house had all the amenities we needed. The picture window with views of the water was incredible. DirectTV was a bonus after long days in the sun. We will definitely be back.

The description and pictures were accurate. The host communicated very useful information about the house and the area prior to our stay. The property is private and quiet; however, there is an small grass airplane runway across the street so you may see and hear an occasional airplane landing or taking off. Bring bug spray since the mosquitos can be bad due to the marsh and water. Overall, this was a great house and property, especially for dogs. I would recommend staying here.

We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the dock, skies where amazing. House could use more furnishings, lamps, and dressers would be nice so you could unpack and not live out of your suitcase. More attention to outdoor maintenance would make the trip more enjoyable.

We had such a lovely stay at Ashely's place. It's obviously well cared for and just as peaceful as described. We especially loved having access to the water. The dock is located in a quiet and shallow little cove, which meant no jellyfish, even though they were in the rest of the bay this late in the summer! We rented kayaks and loved paddling out to explore. We also did several day trips. The Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, St. Michaels's and Assateague Island were all wonderful. The house is out on a peninsula, which although tranquil, does mean it takes 20+ minutes just to get into town in Cambridge, so be prepared for a bit of extra driving to get anywhere. A few notes: - Beds were super comfortable - Kitchen was decently equipped (not the most amazing I've experienced, but we never lacked anything) - We missed not having an indoor dining table/chairs for more than 2 people - No lamps in the bedrooms, kinda a pain (overall the house was 'minimally furnished') - Mosquitos and other bugs outdoors were really not a problem, which was a happy surprise. - The water in the cove was only 2 ft deep or so with underwater grass, and mucky at the bottom. Perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and floating on the inflatables we brought, but not quite 'swimmable' in my opinion. However, shallow water/plants keeps the jellyfish out, so it's a nice trade off in many ways! - We had a miscommunication with our check-out time, which was Ashely's oversight. It could have been super stressful for us, but Ashely immediately owned the mistake and was super on-top of getting everything resolved. Nobody wants to experience mistakes, but everyone is human and they do happen. I was so impressed with how Ashely handled it, and overall with her kindness and attentiveness as a host! Overall, despite a few small drawbacks, we loved our stay and would definitely go back or recommend this to others!

This house is great - second time staying there! Neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. This is the perfect little house to get away from everything and enjoy the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay. Would defiantly stay again.

This cottage was exactly as described. We enjoyed our time out on the dock, and there was even a bald eagle in the yard one day, it startled us as it flapped off. The wildlife was amazing there, and there were many birds that I hadn't ever seen (Bluebirds, tanagers, flycatchers, egrets, herons, etc) There were also lots of small bright green tree frogs that hung out on the doors and the house. Very cute. House was very clean, and beds comfortable. Simple and basic, with a good kitchen.

Philip's home was very clean upon arrival. It is bigger than it looks in the pictures. I would recommend bringing your own towels, bug spray and cookware if you plan on eating in (which we did). The property was perfect for outdoor activities with plenty of space and a flat surface. 2 out of the 3 bedrooms had good mattresses, however, the 3rd bedroom's mattress was VERY firm. Our friends preferred to sleep on the couch instead of the mattress. If you have an extra foam pad or something, it wouldn't be bad to bring. Overall, we were pleased with the accommodations and would return!

We had the best time at the Waterview Cottage! Phillip was incredibly responsive and helpful, taking the time to let me know more about the area and recommending boat rental places, restaurants, and local activities. The house is almost exactly like it looks in the pictures - maybe even a little nicer! There is also a great screened in porch on the back with a hot tub (hot tub wasn't working when we were there, but Phillip let me know that ahead of time). The area is awesome! Totally quiet and secluded. If you are a nature-lover, bird-watcher, hunter or fisher - then this is the house for you! We were there for the 4th of July and rented a canoe to get out on the water. There's water access directly behind the house and several private sand bars not too far off the shore. It was awesome! I would definitely recommend this rental and come back - the price is awesome as well! Other things to note - Phillip did include free linens and there is direct tv. Thanks Phillip!

Upon arrival, the house was clean and welcoming. Philip left water bottles in the fridge and a bowl of candy on the counter, which was a nice gesture. We enjoyed the remote location and the scenery in the neighborhood is beautiful- especially at sunset. I don't know if it's fair to say there is access to a private beach via kayak. It's more of a sandbar that might be completely covered during high tide. Also, the water is full of jellyfish so I don't recommend swimming in it. Keep in mind that kayak rentals are $55 a day. For these reasons, we ended up driving an hour to find a swimming beach, which was we did not plan for originally. Be prepared for a lot of bugs at this location- both in and out of the house. We had bug spray and definitely utilized it often. Another sidenote- one of the beds in the house was quite rigid. Otherwise, the street was nice, quiet and private. We had plenty of room to run around and explore.

My friends and I rented this place for weekend fishing trip. This house doesn't have a private pier or private beach but everything is close by. House is very clean and spacious. If you are thinking of cooking at the house it will be a good idea to bring your own cookware.

Philip was quick to respond when another airbnb host cancelled at the last minute. The house is nicer than the pictures advertise, with a large side yard and lots of great hammocking trees. There's a sandbar to swim/walk out to that provided us with a fun afternoon in the sand, and the house is stocked with supplies. So long as you bring a good sense of humor and some bugspray, the bugs aren't so bad. Thanks for a restful space to gather for a weekend, Philip!

What a great time we had at Philip's water view cottage. Philip was extremely responsive although he was in Europe the day we arrived and made sure everything is arranged for us. The house is very clean with most of the basic necessities. The bay is only steps away and you get a great view of it from the living room. There is a screened porch overlooking the woods and a canal. The location is absolutely perfect if you are planning a quiet and peaceful trip and I agree that everything looks much better in person than in the pictures. We highly recommend this place and would definitely come back here. We thank Philip for being an incredible host. We would also like to thank Olga and her husband, the neighbors who were very helpful while Philip was away.

Philip's house is located in a beautiful area with the river just in front of the house and a great patio for outside activities. It is a little secluded but it eas perfect to relax before the race we traveled for. Philip was very diligent and we had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed our stay! Tracy was a great host, very responsive but respectful of our privacy. We were traveling with a six year old and an infant, and both enjoyed themselves. The house was more spacious than the photos suggest, extremely clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed lounging in the two sitting rooms, as well as the screened in porch. And we loved kayaking on the river. This is a beautiful, quiet area, with an easy drive into Cambridge. There are a delicious crab takeout place and a farm stand very close by. Highly recommend this place.

Perfect! My friends and I had a fantastic memory in Tracy's house. Everything was well organized and immaculate. We especially loved the backyard and the lake where we were able to explore the bounty of nature.

Tracy met us at the AirBnB and gave us a wonderful tour of the house. It was immaculate and fully renovated!! If you're looking for a peaceful stay in the Eastern Shore this is it! Also, Tracy supplied a wonderful tandem kayak with life jackets so the private river inlet was well used. The home also had plenty of firewood with a firepit so s'mores were had! Well done Tracy!! P.S.-The home is on the market so the owner may ask you to have a potential buyer tour the home for a hour during the Airbnb stay.

We had a wonderful time. The house was very nice and clean, with all new furnishings. Located on a beautiful, peaceful spot on the bay with private dock. We had fun crabbing and cycling. Would love to visit again.

As good as advertised! Spacious place, great dock for hanging out on the water and crabbing, remote location, and easy contact with Eastern Shore Vacations. No complaints.

The house was wonderful for a large group and had plenty of towels, pots, pans, etc. As a note, there are four bedrooms, but one can only be accessed by going through one of the other bedrooms. Eastern Shore Vacations was incredibly communicative and easy to work with (note-- in the fall, the office is closed on the weekends). The property was beautiful and although there were neighbors, it felt incredibly secluded to us. Unfortunately, we came on an incredibly windy weekend and the water was too choppy to use the kayaks-- but the kayaks were all ready in the garage and the house had paddles/ping pong balls for the table! We had an excellent time and the view through the floor to ceiling windows was wonderful!

This waterfront home was fantastic, and a great place to come back to after exploring the Eastern MD shore. The owner, Philip, was great to work with and answered many questions we had before viting.

My family and I had an awesome experience. The house and setting was wonderful and exactly as described. Our hosts were warm and accommodating and the setting right on the water was amazing. The rooms were clean and the layout provided just enough privacy. I would definitely recommend the rooms and hosts to anyone. We are already looking forward to our next visit to the Eastern Shore.

An absolutely charming and comfortable home on the Chesapeake. Well-appointed, clean and family friendly, it really was everything we could have hoped for, and more. The kitchen was well equipped, there were plenty of sheets and towels and central air! There were lawn games, a tree swing, and kayaks to enjoy - as well as a garden brimming with fresh heirloom lettuces. We enjoyed steamed crabs on the spacious deck, and cocktails on the dock while watching the sun set. The drive to the home is beautiful as well, like vision out of an Andrew Wyeth painting. The bay is shallow, which was fun for the children who spent hours safely paddling around. A wonderful crab shack is located two minutes away by car. The owner, Alex, was warm, welcoming and quick to respond with a lot of helpful information. We hope to visit again soon!

Great house, gorgeous views. Can't get much better.

The house is absolutely beautiful on an amazing properate with a beautiful view. The house is very clean with a ton of character and very family friendly (but also great for groups of adults). The home owners have thought if everything and really went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay. From the fire pit, to the kayaks, to the crab traps and the ingredients to make smores. We were in town for Ironman Maryland so we didn't get to take advantage of everything available but we would love to come back. My kids are already begging to go back.

Myself and 10 other stayed for a long weekend at this amazing property and had no issue fitting such a group. The property is about 20 minutes outside of Cambridge, so it was an easy trip to the store or to downtown, though we spent most of the time on the property. The yard is GIGANTIC, there was plenty of space for our yard games, and if we had wanted enough for a full size football game. The dock is a great place to hang out and we spent most nights by the fire pit near the dock. The sunsets were amazing and set a perfect backdrop. Alex is also kind enough to provide some firewood, so all you need is a little kindling. The water was pretty shallow and got quite warm by the end of the day. We could easily walk out over 100 feet before reaching waist deep at high tide. The bottom is a bit silty, but that also means there are no rocks to stub your toes on. Alex also provided two kayaks and some floaties that we also took advantage of. It was easy to cook for a group our size between the redone kitchen and the grill and smoker on the patio outside. We also spent many nights on the screened in porch. There are some tiny bugs that make it in, but all was good as long as you brought bugspray. Most of the bugs don't bite, but it helped keep them away anyway. Our group used the smoker twice and it couldnt have been easier. Though we had eaten plenty of BBQ, none of us had ever truly smoked our own, but it was very very easy and held temp very well. We did Ribs for up to 6 hours and had no issues with holding heat. The smoker fits 2 racks of ribs. We didnt get to enjoy that many crabs as one of our party has a severe allergy, but we did eat the 6 crabs that were found in the trap provided by Alex. Had we wanted more there is a long dip net that would be best used around dusk, the water comes alive with small fish and crabs to eat them. The beds and linens were very very comfy and a lot of light comes into the rooms. The AC was a great amenity for the hot weekend and when it came time to say goodbye, checkout was a breeze. Overall, I cannot say enough about this place, it made for a truly amazing weekend and would definitely stay here again.

Alex was such a warm and welcoming host! He was always quick to respond and gave a full run-down of the house by phone before our trip. He even baited the crab traps beforehand... there were 19 waiting for us when we arrived! The home is a beautiful farmhouse with a touch of history and a gorgeous view of the bay out back. We loved utilizing the kayaks and playing field games in the giant back lawn. We were allowed open access to fresh vegetables from the garden and were grilling fresh eggplant and peppers and tomatoes in no time. The fire pit was wonderful and the Cohens even left us ingredients for s'mores -- which was an excellent touch. All in all, this house was everything our group was looking for. A scenic and quiet getaway, stocked with many of the amenities that you'd hope for in a bayside vacation home. Highly recommend for a peaceful weekend getaway!

The beautiful views of the bay made the trip worth the drive. The sunsets over the bay were gorgeous and we had an excellent time catching crabs for dinner right out of the bay. Our host Alex was available to answer questions with a quick response. The house had its own charm and accommodated us comfortably. This is a place we will always remember since it was where I proposed to my now fiancé in front of our families. (which also made for great pictures and videos). We would love to make this a yearly getaway trip.

Alex's property on the Choptank is truly a waterfront gem! It's private and filled with character. We had sensational weather allowing for incredible sunsets and plenty of stargazing. If you like bird watching, then you're in for a treat! There are tons of osprey, hawks, and bald eagles! We got crabs at Kools, highly recommended. Great outdoor table for large groups. Wide open yard perfect for a wide variety of lawn games and other sports. House was clean, large master shower, and plenty of sleeping space as described. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great, relaxing week or weekend on the eastern shore!

A group of girl friends visited this house on the Choptank with me for a sort of a ladies weekend / bacheleorette party / college reunion combo event. We had a fantastic time catching crabs, hanging out around the fire pit, and playing card games on the screened in porch. The house was everything we could have hoped for. With some other rental houses you have to come ultra-prepared with every pot and pan you might need, but this house had a well-equipped kitchen that made the weekend much easier. The house was a good distance from the neighbors and felt nicely private. It was a very serene spot for a great weekend away from the city.

Great cabin for the outdoors - a walkable beach at one end of the street and a sweet water marsh next door. Sit on the upper deck and watch swans, ducks, bald eagles and even peregrine falcons. Or see deer, including a young buck, on the beach. The cabin is modern and cozy with a couple of great loft areas. The woodwork of the cabin is warm and the addition of a pellet stove in the living room adds to the comfort. The owners have furnished it with comfortable beds and seating, along with a great flat screen TV with cable and WIFI. All the little things are provided. The owner even offered the use of a couple of kayaks. To top it all off – collect fossil shark teeth on the beach!

This cabin was chosen for us to use for our three-day trip to celebrate my husband's birthday. We wanted a quiet nature experience. We got that and a whole lot more! First, I Want to thank our Hostess Betsy who was there from start to finish with a ton of information and helpful tips about local places and restaurants. She left a lovely note and bottle of wine for the two of us for our birthday festivities. Then, I want to rave about the cabin itself! I don't know if this is Craftsman but it's a gorgeous wooden cabin, very solid and well built, and fully stocked with everything you would need for cooking or preparing whatever you might want to on a getaway trip. A gorgeous fire pit, outdoor shower, beautiful front and upper rear deck, view of the cove and the ocean... We were welcomed by two bald eagles flying above the cabin. Everything inside was easy to use including the beautiful pellet stove which kept us warm on the first night which was very cold. We enjoyed the fire pit so much as well. I also want to rave about the location! This is a quiet spot and we got a nice warm 70 degree weekend in November. It was perfect for beachcombing for just walking around. And, with so little light pollution, the night skies are a true pleasure. I brought binoculars and could see the Pleiades and other distant stars. We spent four hours just staring at the night. Truly beautiful! Thank you Betsy for an amazing experience and we hope to come back again.

The cabin was well appointed, comfortable and exactly as described. Our family of three was perfectly comfortable over a long weekend, and we plan to return. We especially enjoyed the beach combing, the proximity to two great public parks for fossil hunting and one of the largest playgrounds my son has ever seen (cove point park). History buffs should not miss Calvert Marine Museum, one of the highlights of our stay and a short 15 minute drive away in Solomons Island. The last thing I'll note is that this cabin was impeccably clean. I'm fairly fastidious at home, and even I was impressed by the condition of the cabin. We look forward to our next visit!

Our stay at Cove Point was peaceful and enjoyable! Betsy has made Cove Point so comfy and cozy, you feel at home. The night we arrived it was chilly but the pellet stove made the cabin warm, you just don;t want to leave the cabin, so peaceful!!! Betsy has it well stocked with all the basic essentials which was amazing and wonderful! You can't go wrong with a stay at Cove Point!!! Would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the beach!!!

This is a beautiful, clean and well stocked home on the edge of a scenic and quiet marsh. We saw wild swans, deer, green herons, egrets and eagles. Minutes by foot from a private beach it is a great place for a peaceful retreat. Your hosts are considerate, thoughtful and hospitable. My family of six had a lovely stay here. We used it as a home base to explore the nearby Calvert County Maritime Museum, Annemarie Sculpture Garden and Battle Creek Cypress Sanctuary. Nearby there are grocery stores and restaurants. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with year round and seasonal residents. There is a full kitchen, washer and drier, and luxurious bathtub. Internet and television are reliable. The beds and furniture are super comfy and there are plenty of extra pillows, linens and towels. You cant beat the view from the second floor balcony! Great place to get away from it all.... Book it and lay back and relax, you are in good hands.

Betsy was great with communication! I bothered her three times with questions (by text and phone) while we were there and she answered cheerfully! The pellet stove is cozy and warm! But at night the sound of the fan bothered those sleeping in the open loft. So we used the electric baseboard heaters for nighttime warmth. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 3 during our stay. The kitchen has full-sized appliances and plenty of dishes but very little counter space. While there is sleeping space for more, the dining area only seats 4 and that would encroach upon the living room. Hosts provided drinking water because the well water is safe but smells "eggy." The cabin is right next to the salt ponds but they are not accessible for paddling - we were hoping otherwise - but the bird life is incredible. Quiet yet a short drive to plenty to do. Hike at Calvert Cliffs State Park. Took our canoe to St. Mary's. Didn't get to bike on the Three Notched Trail - maybe next time.
