  • Hollyhock House is a beautiful country retreat. It is easy to find and Heidi was able to show us around the house at check in. Each bedroom has towels and lovely touches such a shower gel/hot chocolate and biscuits. Charlbury Station is only about 10mins away and is direct to London. The bus also runs near to the house. The artic cabin is a lovely space to relax and toast marshmallows and the house is very well equipped. The only downside is there that are only two showers but it was manageable. Thanks for a great weekend - would recommend!

  • Simply a stunning place to stay, perfect for 16 people. Close to Blenheim Palace for walks and exploring Woodstock. Thoroughly recommend popping into Charlbury for Sunday lunch at the Bull Inn too. The pixie hut is exceptional and was a phenomenal surprise birthday bbq dinner for my guests. Truly couldn’t have been a more special weekend. Heidi is also a delight and couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. Thank you for everything!

  • Such a brilliant Airbnb! The house was beautiful, very stylish and had everything we needed. There was plenty of room for everyone to stay and lots of bedding. The location was great, right on the Oxfordshire Way for walking and the village was very picturesque. Heidi was really helpful, offered flexible check in and out and gave us lots of tips for enjoying the house and the area. Would highly recommend!

  • From start to finish Heidi was a pleasure to deal with, and the house is just incredible - we knew it would be nice but the photos don't really do it justice, it's an exquisite place. A wonderful, fun-filled weekend was had and we'd recommend the place to anyone.

Just outside London M40 junction 9 20 minutes from the Dreaming Spires of Oxford Close to: Blenheim Palace Rousham House Waddesdon Manor Bicester Village Kirtlington Park Polo School(website hidden) You will find a beautiful rural retreat, the ultimate in a Glamping experience. Relax and unwind in our paddock pod.
You will find the pod has a tactile, calming quality to its appearance. The accommodation sleeps two adults for a perfect romantic getaway. Stargazing from your bed is an option, however the porthole can be covered from the inside if you wish to have a lie in. This special accommodation is in a child-free/pet free area in a sheltered corner of the paddock, with its own eating area and plenty of free parking. The Pod is deceivingly spacious and unique, inside is an exclusive experience, an opportunity not to be missed. The accommodation includes a microwave, small fridge, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker. DVD/ iPod player. Under floor heating to maintain an ambient temperature, with touch screen controls. There are ample mains sockets, plenty of storage, dimmer switches, and sofas that covert to a double bed or twin singles. Front door with small decking area and lighting looking out onto the unspoilt Oxfordshire countryside. The ensuite shower unit is complete with sink, hot and cold water and mains toilet. The Pod is fully insulated, warm and cosy in the colder months and cool in the summer. The Pod (or as my sister calls it 'The little hug') lends itself beautifully to a GAS BBQ (provided). Sitting in front of the setting sun with the expanse of green in front of you could not be a better view in all seasons.
The Pod is nestled between two of Oxfordshire's prettiest villages, Kirtlington, has two public houses on offer, The Oxford Arms (closed Sunday pm and Wednesday pm ) and The Dashwood ( also closed sun pm) In the adjacent village of Bletchingdon, the recently reopened pub, The Blacks head, offers good local pub food and beers . Bletchingdon also boasts a newly opened Co op well stocked . Hampton Poyle ( approx 1 mile ) has an excellent pub called The Bell, and not closed on Sunday's . Recommended for Breakfast/lunches , a very popular spot at Weston on the Green, The Milk Shed. (Closed Mondays) Or if you fancy browsing an antiques centre close by , with an excellent cafe the Antiques flight Centre at Weston on the Green is worth a browse .
  • We had a fantastic stay at the pod! Well located, yet rural, cosy and lovely touches throughout. We will be back!

    Daniel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely pod!! It’s so well designed with all the hidden storage places. You will be greeted by Melissa who is a great host and really does make you feel welcome. Is there to answer any questions and give recommendations on places to eat etc. She does lovely finishing touches with wine in the fridge and fresh croissants... in such great surroundings with the great views. Really does make you appreciate the countryside compared to being in a busy city! Definitely needed when you’ve got busy working lives..❤️

    Laura2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. A nice location and Pod that ticked all our boxes. Communication was easy and the tips for places to eat were much appreciated. Thank you, Melissa and Marie-Clare

    Alastair2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I suprised my husband with a 2 night stay in the pod for his birthday, we both had an amazing trip and could easily of stayed longer........ The pod is a wonderful set up, it has everything you need for your stay, the bed is comfortable it can be made up as a double or as two singles, there's also plenty of storage space for your gear. Melissa met us on arrival and really does match up to her super host title, communication between us was plentiful as I had asked her if she would be able to purchase and put up a birthday banner & balloons for hubby which she kindly did, she also gave me various options of pubs/gastro pubs to go to, we decided to walk to the local The Black Head Inn (10 mins walk away) on our first night's stay for ease, its a pub pub with a simple but very tasty menu. We found the pods location excellent if you have a car as you are very close to everything, Blenheim Palace, Bicester Village, the Cotswolds, Oxford centre and much much more, if you dont own a car you could easily use buses or even cabs as nothing is that far away from you. We both found the stay very very relaxing, you have horses and a donkey on site (which I loved hearing both mornings at 7.40am) he was my alarm call :-) Melissa has two dogs that will come and greet you with a bark like all dogs do but they are both very friendly and very well trained, if your not a doggy person do not worry they are just saying hello to you :-) I was also lucky enough to hear an owl hooting on our first nights stay, he/she must have been very close to us, it really was such a delight. Melissa went over and beyond her super host duties and left us a breakfast of croissants and jam and pasties, orange juice and lastly wine!! which was re-stocked the next night for me :-) totally an unexpected but delightful touch. We will return to the pod again as it was such a delightful stay, I can highly recommend you also book a stay there, you will NOT be disapointed if you do :-) Thanks again to Melissa & Marie-Clare you girls are doing an outstanding job! X

  • We loved staying at Melissa and Marie-Clare's pod! We've never been glamping before but will definitely be trying it again after such a lovely experience. Melissa was a very warm and welcoming host, you could tell she loved showing off her well presented pod. It had all the amenities you could expect from a B&B and more! Thank you for a lovely stay, Steve and Olivia

  • A peacefull moment. Melissa is absolutely lovely, and the place is so well thought. Every inches is used and nothing's missed. Perfect for lovers 🥰

    Juliette2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an amazing little place. Cosy, secluded and its got everything you could need. Melissa was a great host, replying quickly to any questions we had and nothing was too much trouble for her. The wine and croissants were lovely too!!! Such a lovely place..... thoroughly recommended!

  • A lovely peaceful retreat with nice thoughtful touches. It was very clean and had everything you could possibly need for an overnight stay. The host was very warm and welcoming and even introduced us to her horse who was adorable! It was different to where we would usually stay but we are so glad we booked. We very highly recommend this place and we hope to visit again in the summer.

Homely and stylish apartment with quality furniture and fittings to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Perfect for everyone, for a city escape, visiting academic, business trip, family stay or whatever your reason for visiting, our aim is to make your stay the best possible. As the apartment is only used for Airbnb we welcome feedback and suggestions as we want to continually improve. For additional safety in what is a very safe area, we have installed CCTV cameras outside the property. Below we've provided a FAQ section to help: FAQ: Is a key left out for me? Yes - so you can arrive at your convenience we leave a key for you to collect (details given when you book). Can I get access the flat before 3pm to drop off my luggage? There is the possibility of dropping off your luggage when the cleaner is turning the place around for you, please let us know if you would like to do this. How do I access WIFI and is it any good? Yes - Speeds are the fastest broadband that the local infrastructure can provide (100mb). WIFI code and other info can be found on Airbnb (“guest resources”) and we have printed out a 'Welcome’ sheet for you with useful info as well as the Wifi code. Extra bedding & Sofa Bed Use - there are two of us staying but we would like to use the extra bedding, can this be arranged? Yes certainly. Our cleaners charge per set of linen so with two people staying we have kept the costs low (ie charges are to clean one set of linen for the double bed. £15 is charged by the cleaning company for the extra set (if only two people are staying). If 3 or more are staying then the cost is factored in. Can I drop off my luggage early or leave it there on departure day? Yes it is possible, we ask for £10 to arrange this with the cleaning company who are booked in to clean and changeover in preparation for newly arriving guests. On day of arrival - the earliest you could drop off would depend on the cleaners arrival time. On departure day, you would need to collect before 1.30pm at the latest. Any recommendations for places to eat, drink and sightsee? Yes – you are in luck, our area has so many great restaurants and a huge diversity of styles. Our listing has recommendations (see the Guide Book “Jericho and Oxford Local Favourites”), and we have left out some example menus of our favourites. Local establishments are only a short walk away or a telephone call with a variety of food from across the world. Do you leave out shower products etc? Yes we leave them for you, shower gel and shampoo (feel free to bring you own favourites). To save on plastic waste please don’t throw these away as we refill them. Do you have a TV? Yes – its great! There is a spare HDMI cable connected so feel free to plug into your laptop to display it on the 32’’ screen. Enjoy! Can I have a later checkout time than 11am? Yes, our cleaning company has set cleaning times booked for our Airbnb. Do let us know as far in advance as possible if you need to have a later checkout. If arranged AFTER the original booking then there is sadly an admin charge of £20 for a later checkout time, it's what the cleaning company charges us to rearrange their day, and as we aim to keep costs as competitive as possible we sadly have to pass on the cost. Do you supply an iron, hair dryer etc? Hair dryer, iron, ironing board, shower gel / shampoo, spare bin liners, additional toilet rolls, broom, dustpan and brush. All located in the white cupboard by the front entrance doorway. Do you provide towels, linen etc? Yes - the apartment also includes all bed linen, extra blankets, fresh towels (one per person), if you need more please let us know especially if you are staying for an extended period. What local taxi firm do you recommend? Royal Cars 01865 777333 are usually quick to arrive and reasonably priced. Can I change the heating settings? Yes – but being environmentally conscious please take this into account when turning up the heat. If you do make changes please do let us know so we can return the settings to their previous state. I have a baby buggy, can I leave it in the flat? Yes sure, and it should be safe outside. Do you have a travel cot? Sadly we don’t, its not been asked for as yet but if people do ask its something we are looking to get. I want to hire a bike is there somewhere local? Yes, there are hire bikes on Walton Street and please Google details of local shops that hire them. I smoke, can I? Please NO smoking in the apartment or just outside. On the road sure, but please take care that no smoke blows into the property if a door or window is open. Can I have extra guests stay over? Yes - any extra guests beyond the original booking number must be communicated and agreed via Airbnb messaging, as there is a small charge to cover the provision and laundry of additional towels, bedding, extra usage of facilities etc. Is the local area safe? The area is very friendly, safe and family orientated. I like listening to loud music or TV, is that ok? Sure, enjoy! Parking my car is it easy? Yes - parking is available (£10 per 24hrs). We'll leave the parking details inside the property with a clear plastic wallet for you to post the £10 in our letter box on the day of your arrival. Please take into account that Sundays restrictions on the roads are less but please check the parking signs to be sure. Also there are some limited 'free spaces' between the resident parking areas, so please check the Oxford council's website as there are free 2hour parking bays in both Farndon road and St Margaret's road. From the photos you will see the through room with lounge area at one end (with sofa bed), and a double bed at the other. Ensuite toilet / shower room, High Speed WiFi, controllable underfloor heating, 32'' TV, fridge, sofa, table lamps (remote controlled), study table, and additional chairs. Very comfortable for a couple staying. The sofa bed gives sleeping arrangements for a further two guests "at a push". Bathroom: Large walk in shower, sink and toilet. Hot towel rail recently installed and adjacent to which your towels will be left ready for you to use (found in the old coal shoot alcove - in case you are interested in the origins of the quirky space for towels). Breakfast area: Microwave, kettle, fridge (please bring your own milk or equivalent), chopping board, cutlery, glasses, cups etc - if you need anything specific please let us know and we'll be happy to help. Please note that this is a breakfast area not a full kitchen (there is no hob or cooker) as the local area has a tonne of high quality restaurants and takeaways. A choice of breakfast cereals are provided on the shelves above the fridge. The nearest shop is the Hayfield Deli is 2min walk away for pastries, milk, orange juice etc. There are many places to go out for breakfast along Walton Street (e.g. Jericho Cafe), but our most recommended place is The CRISIS cafe on George Street as all money goes into helping homeless people better their confidence and self worth through various vocational schemes.
The most sought after area in Oxford; beautiful quiet area adjacent to the countryside and shops, restaurants and pubs in Jericho. Short distance from the Oxford train station, easy access to the countryside via Port Meadow (5min walk away), and the Cherwell Boathouse for traditional Oxford punting (10-15min walk). Great for running and cycling with canal access to town and the countryside only a few minutes away via Port Meadow. For kids - a good playground is 2 min walk away, adjacent to the canal where you can walk into town or simply have fun feeding the ducks.
  • Cosy little basement studio, easy to walk into Oxford along road or canal. We enjoyed our 3 night stay and would visit again.

  • Our stay at Matt’s was lovely. The location is perfect, an easy walk into central Oxford and very close by to a wide selection of bars, cafes, pubs and shops. There were great touches included like underfloor heating, heated towel rail in the bathroom and breakfast items. Matt was helpful and there was a really useful handbook in the studio with tips on local sights, pubs and restaurants. It was a beautiful space, tastefully finished in a quiet area, although a bit smaller than expected. Would recommend it for couples looking to explore Oxford.

    Hetty2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is definitely what it says on the tin, I will return!

    Nick2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Matt's place is a very nicely done basement suite, with pleasant furniture that makes you feel like you're somewhere a bit special. The beautiful Port Meadow and the canal are very close, and the walk in to the city centre would be a very pleasant 15 minutes or so.

Well - connected to both Oxford and Oxford Parkway stations. Parking is available on the forecourt of our house. Please let us know if you require parking before you arrive.
The apartment is furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture. It has a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with over-bath shower attachment, washing machine, microwave, tv with integral freeview and DVD player. A super-comfortable double bed with good-quality Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet cover. The location is fantastic - a safe and family-friendly residential area with the benefit of everything you need on your doorstep, including sports facilities. 1 mile from the ring road with fast access to the Cotswolds, Blenheim Palace, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Cheltenham, 15 minutes' drive to Bicester Village shopping outlet. Altogether an ideal base to explore all the area has to offer.
Great neighbourhood - lively during the day and quiet at night. Starbucks, Costa, Gail's, an independent French Patisserie, all a few yards from the house. Also restaurants of all types, several supermarkets, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, banks. Public sports centre and gym 2 mins' walk.
  • Nice flat, very quiet and lots of space

  • We had a lovely weekend in this cosy flat. Everything we needed was there and the location was perfect. 30 minutes walk to the centre and a lovely Indian restaurant 5 minutes away. A great start to our break!

  • We just stayed for a second time at Judith’s place for ten days and felt very comfortable at her cozy apartment. As I’ve said in my earlier review, location, amenities and bed are great and communication with Judith quick, easy and helpful. Plus she and her family are really lovely. Much hoping to come back again soon!

    Nina2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Judith’s place is just great – perfect location with easy bus access into town, lots of shops around and cozy to hang out, with all amenities that you need (and comfy bed!). Communication was always quick and helpful, Judith and her family are absolutely delightful and very helpful if there is anything one needs. I'm actually due to come back there to stay again very soon and already look forward to my little home in Oxford! Many thanks Judith!

  • This was a lovely little place, nice and cosy and a bit out of the way but not too much. Lots of shops and watery places close, main Oxford town wasn’t far either. There are lots of things to look at nearby, Belemien palace was beautiful, would recommend. Overall lovely place, relaxing and something different.

    Rosalind2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

Our house, built in 1873, occupies a spectacular position in North Oxford, just 10 minutes walk from the historic city centre. Two large, recently renovated en suite double bedrooms and a loft suite (3 bedrooms and shared bathroom) are available for booking through Airbnb. Served breakfast in the dining room is included.
This beautiful mid-Victorian House was built in the development of North Oxford in the 1870s. It was previously owned by one of the University Colleges and used as student accommodation. We moved in, in 2012 and have converted it back into a lovely family home.
This classic Victorian 4-storey house is located within the University area of Oxford, very near St Hugh's, St Anthony's and St Anne's Colleges. North Parade, once the northern perimeter of King Charles' army during the civil war, now a lively street with cafes, pubs, shops and a regular farmer's market, is literally round the corner. It is a wonderful, old, vibrant, yet peaceful part of the city.

  • Miriam's place was just perfect. She is a delightful and friendly host. In addition to the beautiful room, superb breakfast and perfect proximity to the town centre, Miriam offered us wonderful advice on what to do and see to maximise our 2 days in Oxford. We highly recommend Miriam's place.

  • This is a lovely house and a beautiful, luxurious room in a very convenient location for the university science departments. The bed is comfortable (though I'm not sure why there are four such enormous cushions as well as four pillows). There is a little bit of noise from the road outside but it isn't too bad. The breakfast was excellent. Miriam and Tim are very nice and friendly. I hope to stay here again before long.

Lovely self-contained annexe with beautiful views over the garden and neighbouring fields. Open plan downstairs with lounge and games room containing table tennis table, comfy sofa bed, large TV, kitchenette, separate toilet and dartsboard with a spacious double bedroom with en-suite on the first floor. Short walk to Tackley train station with great links into London, Oxford and the Cotswolds. Lots of country walks, pubs and a few miles to Blenheim Palace, Woodstock and Bicester Retail Village.
The annexe is located in an idyllic village in the Cotswolds, it is perfectly situated for visiting Oxford City, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds. The self-contained annexe was renovated from a triple garage in 2016 and so everything is brand new, modern & bright and set within a beautiful garden which is surrounded by fields. It offers a spacious open plan living area with table tennis and darts, kitchenette and a comfy sofabed that sleeps two, a large TV and a separate toilet with sink. The bedroom is located on the first floor and has amazing views of the Oxfordshire countryside. It features a Kingsize bed, side cabinets, chest of drawers and plenty of wardrobe space. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with shower, toilet and sink.
Tackley is a picture perfect small Cotswolds village with church, train station, school, shop and pub. You can walk through a gate at the end of the garden through the fields and down in to the village and stop for a drink in the local pub before making the return!
  • The place is great, the bed is comfy and we did enjoy a lot the pool/tennis table. For a short stay this place is perfect! For a long stay (we did stay a month), we did miss a washing machine, a freezer and a oven. Vikki is very kind and helpful and she did respect a lot our privacy. I absolutely recommend!

    Jessica Maria2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The games den! Is awesome! Nothing beats watching a movie, playing some pool and relaxing with the other half. Totally recommend this airbnb to anyone.

    Krish2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a wonderful place to stay! Just an 8 minute walk to the bus stop, which takes you to Oxford in 40minutes. The local village is lovely to walk around too. The pool/ table tennis and darts was such a great addition, with a very convenient kitchenette and huge amounts of space - we can't wait to return!

    Duncan2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The annexe was perfect for us and our 1-year-old (as long as we kept her away from the top of the stairs). It was very spacious and we particularly enjoyed the pool table. The only downside was the poor WiFi, and the 4G is a bit patchy, so we were glad we downloaded some programmes/films to watch in advance. The location was perfect for Blenheim Palace (would recommend the Christmas lights!), Woodstock, Oxford and rural walking. We hope to be back some day.

    Lindsey2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We (me, my husband and two and a half year old daughter) stayed in Vikki’s place for a long weekend, visiting Blenheim palace and the local area. We managed easily without a car on local buses and taxis. Vikki is a very responsive and accommodating host. The property is clean, warm and very spacious and suited our young daughter to a T.

    Louisa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic! An entirely self-contained and private apartment set in the substantial grounds of the main house, the Annexe has been very stylishly decorated and furnished. It has both comforts (leather sofa, good central heating) and fun (table tennis table, dartboard and large TV). The location feels rural and there is decent hiking from the doorstep, but you can also walk to Tackley station and hop into Oxford to combine the best of both worlds. We went as a group of mates, and had a great time, but the Annexe could equally make a romantic couples’ getaway or a fun family holiday.

    Joel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay if you are visiting Oxford and/or Blenheim Palace. Three of us stayed for the weekend in this very comfortable detached annex. Pool, Table Tennis and Darts were an added bonus. Very quiet and only a 10 - 15 minute drive to the park and ride for Oxford. Would recommend and would definitely book again if we are in the area.

    John2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Vikki is a super quick communicator throughout which we really appreciated. Vikki went out of her way to accommodate our sleeping requirements. The annex is modern and well furnished and will be remembered for the table tennis table really kept our children entertained. It’s such a peaceful place with a large lovely garden to look out on. With a car it’s perfectly positioned to enjoy visits to Oxford and Blenheim Palace. We visited the blockbuster sights but there is much more to explore so we will be back.

  • Mark lives on the side and can communicate at any time. The English countryside by the house has a beautiful view. It was raining when we went, and the wheels of the rented two-wheel-drive car slipped and could not drive to the parking position on the designated high slope. Later, Mark helped find the position and stopped.

  • We had a wonderful stay and Mark's place and were just sad that we didn't have longer! Communication with Mark was great from the minute we booked and he was very accommodating, allowing us to have a slightly earlier check in. When we got there, Mark showed us around the house and let us know about the local pubs and places to visit. I completely agree with the reviews that say the photos don't do any justice. The house is very well designed and with each bedroom having its own en suite, it was perfect! I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back again! Thanks Mark!

Andrea’s place is located in beautiful spot only a short drive away from the centre of Oxford which was so convenient for us. The check in process was so nice and easy and communication was great too - we would definitely love to stay again! Thank you!

    Zoe2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great Airbnb find - private, cosy and very well equipped with all you could need. Thanks to Andrea and her husband who are fabulous hosts.

    Kelly2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Oak View was the perfect place for my weekend ‘retreat’! I met Andrea at the beginning so I knew she was available if I needed anything but the apartment had everything I wanted for a get-away-from-it-all couple of days. A wonderfully comfy sofa to curl up on and read, the peaceful bedroom for a good night’s sleep and those gorgeous dining chairs to sit on and write to my heart’s content. I’d love to know where to get some of those chairs from! There was plenty of privacy as the only thing you could see through the windows was sky, but those same roof windows let in loads of light, enough for me to even attempt some drawing during my stay. One final thing I particularly liked was the number of electrical sockets. I could plug things in wherever I wanted to be.

  • What an absolutely amazing space, it had everything we needed and would be a perfect getaway for any couple. Tracy was a great host and gave us lots of tips and also supplied us with eggs, milk, butter, jam for breakfast. The whole space is very peaceful and the fact the town of Woodstock is only about a 30min walk makes it the ideal destination for a country break. We came to Oxford for a wedding but would love to come back just to stay at Tracy's airbnb!

    Ross2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's Airbnb really has the wow factor. It is incredibly spacious, comfortable and has quality fixtures & fixings. I loved soaking in the gorgeous bathtub each evening. The garden seating areas, front and back, were lovely places to enjoy a meal or a drink. Breakfast supplies of organic granola, bread, eggs, butter, jam and milk provided a great start to the day. Location is fantastic, you feel like you're right out in the sticks but in fact it is only 10 minutes to Woodstock and Blenheim and about 30 minutes to Oxford. We had a fabulous stay.

Very clean bungalow, very quiet area. 20 minute drive from Bicester shopping village and 30 minute drive into the city however train takes 8 minutes. Train times attached. There is also a direct bus route. Tackley train station is a 3 minute drive away. Local pub also serves food and friendly environment. Lots of country walking routes. The bedroom has a double bed and Tv as well as hanging rail for clothes.
The North Oxfordshire village of Tackley lies in the Cherwell Valley, 8 miles North of Oxford and just 3 miles from the town of Woodstock. The name Tackley is probably derived from ‘tack’ (from the pre 7th century Danish ‘tacca’), meaning sheep or ewes, and the Anglo-Saxon ‘leah’ (-ley), meaning a glade, clearing or enclosure. As we often have sheep in the fields in the middle of the village it’s good to see that some things don’t change. Tackley has a great sense of community, most effectively demonstrated by the community run village shop. The village has a main line railway station, with regular trains to and from Banbury, Oxford and London, and is about 1 mile from the Oxford Canal. As you enter the village you pass St Nicholas Church, which has been there since Saxon times. A traditional green with a fine old oak tree forms the centre of the village. Tackley is a mixture of old cottages, converted buildings and modern houses, and a population of just under 1,000 residents.
  • Modern clean bungalow. Very quiet neighborhood. Gracious hosts. Efficient central heating. WiFi available. Room has TV and DVD player. Local village pub half a mile away. Within close distance of Woodstock, Blenheim palace and Silverstone. Highly recommended.

A modern studio located on the ground floor of our townhouse in East Oxford. Ideal for couples, or single travelers alike. It has great access to the Hospitals, Brookes University, City centre by bus, and the Oxford tube from London. The studio has a double bed, kitchenette, and en-suite bathroom. There are a number of amenities that make the studio great for both short, or longer trips such as, tea/coffee (with fresh milk), free Wi-Fi, large rain shower, full cooker, TV/DVD, and washer/dryer.
We have tried to include everything you would need to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and have included a few items that make the room flexible for both work and holiday travel. The kitchenette includes much of the amenities of a full kitchen, so that an extended trip is pleasant, even in a studio format. There are a few items that make a difference when traveling with work such as, a heated bathroom mirror, hair dryer, breakfast bar/work-space, fridge, clothes hanger, iron and ironing board. The space is designed for two people sleeping in a double bed, however there is a Futon that can be used if two guests would like two beds for short trips. Please feel free to get in contact if you have any special requests that you think might make your stay more enjoyable.
The house is a mid terrace townhouse situated off a quiet side road, with trees on the opposite side of the road, so is not overlooked by other houses. The area is very quiet, but is within a 20 minute walk (2 minute bus ride) of the main area of Headington, which has many restaurants and shops should you need them. We also have a couple of corner shops for essential that you can reach within a ten minute walk. If you like a long walk there is a bridal path at the end of the road that leads to a nice trek though the surrounding fields and villages (with a couple of nice pubs).
  • I stayed at Alex's cozy room the whole week and it was perfect. Alex is indeed a super-host and super kind and the place has been well designed as a teeny tiny space with nice touches. Will definitely come back again. Only thing is that the "house noises" (water running in the pipes, flashing water upstairs...) are quite loud because of the size I suppose, so maybe not suitable if you are very sensitive to noises. Other than that- perfect!

It was beautifully clean, very comfortable and I loved the kitchenette and milk in the fridge! Single room, box room the smallest room in the property 9ft X 7ft which indicates the size. Plenty of draws with storage. View looking into the garden. Use of shared upstairs bathroom room allocated. Downstairs toilet shower room, communal area living room (invite by host ONLY). Kitchen dinning use strictly only for breakfast and 1 evening meal cooked. We do offer Chinese meals although arrangements made in advance.
The house has a homely feel, been a family home for over 15 years.
  • My stay at Kar's place was fantastic. The house is very clean, and the room has a comfortable mattress. His parents are always super kind, and they make you feel at home. I stayed a couple of days, and I highly recommend it. Besides, it's super close to a supermarket and bus stops.

  • I really enjoyed my stay in Kar House. And i really like his parents they was very nice and helpful I was studing Kidlington Airport it was just 10-15 minutes walk. There's some buses in the complex can take to Oxford center in 35- 40 minutes. The place was very a bit small but it was an amazing place . Kar house will be my officially place to stay if i will come to Kidlington Oxford

  • Absolutely lovely family! I stayed for two weeks and they went above and beyond to make it as comfortable as possible. Would definitely recommend

    Rachel2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very tidy and in an absolutely ideal and close location to the high street. I was greeted warmly and briefly shown around the house and to my room. It would be a delight to stay there again if I return to Kidlington for the chess event.

    Ryan2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and comfortable, good value for money, would stay again.

    Dan2018-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice room in a house to stay in. Kar and his family are very nice and excellent hosts. The location is a bit far out from Oxford, but there are very regular buses leaving from a stand close to the house and which go straight to the city centre. There are also cycle paths alongside the main road. The room itself is relatively small, but perfectly sufficient for a single person, and comfortable.

    Nelson2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet location, although it is near Oxford Airport you won't hear anything, and very friendly family!

    Jonas2018-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very nice and close to a bus stop. The host is very helpful, lending me an adapter which I needed.

Kate and Carl welcome you to Spring Cottage, a comfortable, ground-floor studio with en-suite facilities built in 2017. It's an ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds, Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Silverstone and Stratford-upon-Avon, or relaxing after a day's shopping in Bicester Village. The cottage is located on our smallholding at the edge of the picturesque village of Steeple Aston.
We have designed and furnished Spring Cottage with your comfort and convenience in mind. Much of the work has been carried out by local crafts people and we have used reclaimed materials where possible. Prepare a meal from tasty local ingredients, then relax in front of a film, or curl up with a book in the cozy sitting area. Please let us know if you prefer 2 twin beds, or a double bed.
  • Fantastic hosts and great communication! Couldn't fault the experience, the space had everything we needed and was in a great location. Thankyou for letting us stay! Charlotte & Josie

Studio 3 is part of Hempton Lodge, which is set at the eastern edge of the peaceful rural village of Hempton. A 15 minute walk to the village green of Deddington, which boasts a fabulous food emporium, traditional pubs, a designer clothing boutique, and art gallery. Chipping Norton is a 15 minute drive to the west, making this property the perfect location for exploring the entire Heart of England region.
Built in the 18th century, Hempton Lodge is a family home with a wealth of character, provided by the two artist owners and their children. A private entrance at the rear of the Lodge, away from the road, guarantees a most peaceful stay. The secluded garden for guests faces west, capturing the last of the sun each evening - just right for settling into the dinner hour with a glass of wine. A stable door from the garden opens into a hallway between the kitchen and bedroom, with a tranquil shower room in between. The studio sleeps two people in a UK double bed, in one bedroom, which has a cupboard for linen and clothes storage, and a separate hanging rail. The kitchen is well equipped for simple cooking: washing machine, induction hobs, micro-combi oven, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle and a dining table.

Wootton is a beautiful village at the edge of the Cotswolds. Near Blenheim Palace, Oxford Airport, Soho Farmhouse, and within a 20 min drive of Bicester Village & Oxford. There is an award-winning pub just 3 minutes walk away, & a small village shop which sells the essentials. Great area for walking and bike rides. Pet friendly. A 3 room annex independent from our family home with its own entrance. Living room, bedroom, shower room. Fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, continental breakfast.
The annex is all on the ground floor, and although there is no kitchen, a fridge and kettle are provided. A microwave can be added if requested when booking. A basic continental breakfast is included, along with tea and coffee making facilities. There is one bedroom with an en-suite shower room. A third guest may be accommodated on the sofa bed in the living room (1 adult or 2 smaller children), but they will need to walk through the bedroom to access the toilet facilities in the en-suite bathroom. There is plenty of free parking in the driveway. The key will be located in a key safe so you can let yourselves in your own front door. The front door opens into the living room which has two sofas (one a sofa bed for the occasional extra guest), a piano, TV, DVD player, books and games - all you need for a relaxing stay. Dogs are welcome, but please bring their own bed, food etc. Please don’t leave dogs alone in the property. The bedroom has a king-size bed, wardrobe & clothes storage. The sunny south-facing guest suite is in our home in the heart of the village close to Oxford with great road, rail & bus links. A short walk to the station for a 10min ride to Oxford (& London trains), and plenty of woodland/country walks from the front door and red kites often circling overhead. Blenheim Palace and Park is very close by. It's a great base for exploring Oxfordshire & the Cotswolds. The village has 2 CoOp's, a post office, fish‘n’chip and pizza takeaway, and good pubs with food.
It is a bright, well-appointed, self-contained and well-equipped two-room flatlet on the first floor. It comprises a lovely large double bedroom (en suite) with a connecting door to a roomy private living room with kitchenette. It is accessed through, and is in, the main house - but is otherwise entirely self-contained. The bedroom has a good quality iron-frame double bed and mattress (190x130), and old pine chest of drawers, wardrobe, well-stocked bookshelf and bedside tables and lights. The compact ensuite has a quality shower, WC, basin and chrome ladder radiator. Good quality towels are provided, along with 'Faith in Nature' Lavender & Geranium shower gel, shampoo & conditioner as stocked by Oxfam. The attached living room has a comfortable 2-seater sofa(bed), a work/dining table, a TV, iPod dock for music, and free WiFi access. There is a neat built-in studio kitchenette with fridge, microwave, ceramic double hob, sink, kettle, and toaster. Tea & coffee, milk & sugar, and a good quality breakfast muesli and 'porridge pots' are provided for an easy simple breakfast, as are cutlery, crockery, mugs and glasses and pots, pans, dishes & utensils should you want to cook for yourself. You can eat out in local pubs, bring in takeaways, or if you are staying longer the co-op supermarket is a short walk away and the flatlet is well equipped for self-catering and quiet nights 'in' with books, music or TV after your busy days out and about. Both rooms are tastefully freshly decorated, and have African art and ornaments. We hope and believe you will find it welcoming - whoever you are. Our working lives have taken us all over the world - we are open-minded and welcome internationalism and diversity of all kinds. We keep learning more and more from meeting people of all backgrounds and identities. You're welcome !

Train station an easy walk to travel to Oxford and Blenheim just a short drive, as was the pretty town of Woodstock where we ate one evening. For nearer food and drink we also used the village pub which was a pleasant short stroll away. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

We have two rooms available, next to each other. We are surrounded by great Pubs and restaurants that we would be happy to recommend, including Soho Farmhouse a small 5-10 minute drive away.
Room 3 is the second of our two rooms. It is an ample double sized room and is very comfortable and well presented. The room has a lovely outlook and is quiet and peaceful. Our house is next to wonderful countryside walks with amazing views! There is a snug lounge for our guests. Offering T.V. B.T. Infinity for viewing movies etc and a wide selection of DVD's.
Our village is a small one on the edge of two valleys, amazing views and walks. The next village which is a mile away and can be walked has pubs and restaurants so you have no need to drive.
  • I slept deeply and felt super comfortable during my stay. The location is easy to find and while it's not in the centre of the action (a plus!), there are plenty of thing to do locally and shops and pubs are very easy to get to. Check in was smooth as can be and I was made to feel very welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

It makes an ideal place to return to after a day out, whether that might be sightseeing, rambling, shopping or attending a function. A particular attraction for the end of November and for December are the Illuminations at Blenheim Palace. Why not make your visit into a longer trip by staying with us for a couple of nights!

A lovely room in our home in the heart of a village close to Oxford with road, rail & bus links. It's a short walk to the station for a 10min train to Oxford (and London trains). With woodland and country walks from the front door and red kites often circling overhead, Blenheim Palace & Park is very close by. It's a great base for exploring Oxfordshire & the Cotswolds. The village has 2 CoOp's, post office, fish‘n’chip and pizza takeaway, and good pubs with food. The room has a TV & mini-fridge.
It is a bright, sunny and south-facing, self-contained room at the front of the house which comprises a comfortable bedroom with en suite. The bedroom (10 sq.m) has a good quality double bed and mattress (190x130), hooks and plenty of hangers, an old pine chest of (4) drawers, a mini-fridge, TV, bed-reading lights and free WiFi access. The en suite (4 sq.m) has a quality 'rain' shower (with grab rail), WC (with grab rail), basin and chrome ladder radiator – good quality towels are provided, along with ''Faith in Nature" Lavender & Geranium shower gel, shampoo & conditioner as stocked by Oxfam. TEAs / COFFEE & BREAKFAST: Teas, coffee, sugar and milk are provided in the room with a kettle. An in-room light breakfast is provided of muesli or a choice of flavours of warming 'porridge in a pot' for you to prepare - we'll supply milk if you'd like it - to keep in the mini-fridge. The room is tastefully decorated with original contemporary art, ornaments and family furniture. The digital 24" TV has multiple channels (& radio). We hope and believe you will find it welcoming - whoever you are. Our working lives have taken us all over the world - we are open-minded and welcome internationalism and diversity of all kinds. We keep learning more and more from meeting people of all backgrounds and identities. You're welcome ! DISABLED ACCESS: There is level access (except for a low threshold on the front door) to the room and sufficient space to manoeuvre a manual wheelchair - but not in the en suite, where there are grab rails by the WC and in the shower. We can provide a shower chair and WC seat-raiser and frame if requested, and you are welcome to borrow our lightweight folding wheelchair ramp for your days out if you wish.

A brand new cabin in the grounds of our home. Fully insulated and heated with either air con or oil filled heaters. This fully self contained cabin is ideal for a short break or someone working away from home. There’s a shower room and kitchen equipped with counter fridge and combo microwave. A smart tv with Netflix and a good WiFi service.
  • The cabin just did the job I needed perfectly for a few nights in the area. I arrived late and check in was so easy. It was cold outside and the cabin was very well heated. It couldn’t have been simpler, thanks Paul.

    Rebecca2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay here - a great room in a lovely village location.

    Hayley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay and very clean. Paul is really good with communication and making sure you have everything you need. Self check in was very easy too.

  • A great place to stay. Very private, very cosy and such an easy check in. Really quiet location in a pretty village.

    Sonia2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • I've come home looking for an excuse to go and stay again! Beautiful space, Paul was friendly and welcoming, absolutely recommend.

    Elizabeth2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at Paul's place. From the outside, the main house is very modern and the AirBnb had great amenities and small touches. In a very quiet area, lots of Oxfordshire stone. Bed very comfortable and had a great night's sleep. I found there was noise from the fridge or heater which would rumble occasionally when I was trying to get to sleep but ear plugs completely blocked it out and I had no problems. I'm a fussy sleeper generally though 😁 Would definitely recommend to others.

    Deborah2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • lovely place, just as imagined. Super easy check in with key safe and left to settle in etc. Didn't need Paul but did briefly meet him and the dog as we left. Couple of bits to note for future visitors which might help (beyond description). Walls separating bathroom from rest of the space do not so all the way to ceiling, so those with less pleasant bathroom habits may feel uncomfortable. Wasn't too much of an issue for us. Smart TV - couldn't get regular channels as not sure there is any aerial etc. NetFlix, iplayer etc all there though so, these days, not an issue to find something to watch. thanks for a lovely but brief stay

  • A beautiful little annexe cottage in the back garden of the house in a lovely, small village. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and very clean. Fiona is a super host, and the breakfast provided was just right for us. Sitting in the garden at the end of a busy day was lovely. There is a little community shop in the village for bits and bobs and a pub about 15 minutes walk away. It's only a short drive to Woodstock and Blenheim Palace and an easy drive to the Park and Ride for Oxford. We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave. Thanks very much Fiona.

Kate and Carl weclome you to Black Barn Cottage, a comfortable, ground-floor studio with en-suite facilities built in 2017.
We have designed and furnished Black Barn Cottage with your comfort and convenience in mind. Much of the work has been carried out by local crafts people and we have used reclaimed materials where possible. Prepare a meal from tasty local ingredients, then relax in front of a film, or curl up with a book in the cozy sitting area. Please let us know if you prefer 2 twin beds, or a double bed.
Steeple Aston is an ancient settlement with roots going back to Roman times, maybe earlier. Today, with a population of around 1,000, it is a busy village with plenty to see and do. The village has its own shop and Post Office, Harris Stores, and a traditional pub and restaurant, the Red Lion. Steeple Aston is surrounded by the farmland of the Cherwell Valley, where many footpaths and bridleways provide access to beautiful views across the water meadows where the river, the Oxford Canal and the railway come together. Keen cyclists will enjoy the undulating landscape. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen. Kingfishers can be spotted by the river and canal and a wide variety of birds visit our smallholding and the surrounding fields.
  • Repeat visit, wouldn't have returned if not completely satisfied. Highly recommended.
