The floor was very private, had amazing views as advertised, and Stephen and Susan were just a text away! Superb location right outside of a very cool little town. A two level loft apartment walking distance to Shelburne Falls. Private, simple, unique, cute, and efficient. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet with the notable exception of a nearby train intersection. 4-6 times in a given 24 hour period there'll be a loud train whistle. Please see Covid-19 update in "Other things to note..."
This space is most comfortable for one or two people. There is a spare bed which I will set up upon request so that a third person may be added. The Apartment has an open ceiling in the kitchen area and a winding stair leading to the living and sleeping area. The upstairs has three different levels: one exiting to the back deck, one a reading area, and the third level is the television area. (In the event that the memory foam mattress needs to be set up it will be in the TV area of the apartment.) The Queen size bed is on the floor but from the 1st level height it will feel like a normal height bed. Ceilings are low on the 2nd floor...watch your head... Kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, etc.... There are some basic food items like olive oil, butter, eggs, 1/2 and 1/2, tea, coffee, cereal/oatmeal, and so on. On the back deck you'll find a small grille and in the tree line I have steel fire ring for an evening fire (wood provided).
Shelburne Falls is a quaint town. There are several restaurants in town and easy access to museums, hiking, mountain biking, etc... There is a laundromat about a 5 minute drive from here and a natural food store the same distance (4 minute drive).
  • The place was beautiful, clean, and very well stocked. The host is kind and incredibly tentative. It's amazing for the price!

    Troy2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Justin was very thoughtful with his communication! He messaged to reassure us that everything would be extra clean amid the Corona virus outbreak. We enjoyed the tips he suggested and I even bought some of the glasses he keeps in the loft from local artists! Thank you for a wonderful stay! Rebecca

    Rebecca2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, lovely space for 1-2 people, very clean! Very comfortable! Extra touches of organic food on the shelves and in the refrigerator. Great location - 10 min. walk to downtown.

    Beryl2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Justin’s place. We just stayed for the night, but would’ve loved to stay longer. The place is super cozy and cute, close to all the whole spots in town. Justin also provides quite a few food staples which is very generous we made a nice breakfast, and he gave some great advice. good hikes in the area!

    Kim2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I planned a two week snowboarding trip. This was our second stop, and we stayed one night. As home renovators, we loved the design and thoughtful features throughout this little apartment. Nice glassware, an assortment of teas, and coffee are available. The host was quick to respond to my messages. The only negative I would say is the incredibly tiny bathroom sink that was virtually unusable. We used the kitchen sink to brush our teeth and perform our facial hygiene. Also, there is not a washer and dryer present within the apartment (just an FYI).

    Cat2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific overnight stay at Justin's place. Snug, clean, and simple. A perfect spot from which to launch our ski day.

    Janel2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place to stay!

    Joshua2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very cute. I chose it because I liked the loft and it was exactly what I expected it to be. There was local/organic food in the kitchen area, which was a very thoughtful touch. Justin has snowshoes outside which we did not use but I thought was a cute idea. It is walkable to the downtown area. I would return here for another trip.

  • Great place! Very comfortable.

    Chris2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay here! The decor is lovely, and it's a great location. The bed is very comfortable. The water pressure on the shower is meh, but shouldn't be a game changer unless that really matters to you. We had TONS of fun at the bowling alley in town. Also had great meals at El Sotano, Gypsy Apple Bistro, and Delicatesse.

My place is close to: restaurants shops galleries glacial potholes and waterfall Friday farmer's market You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the light, the view of the Deerfield River, and the neighborhood. You will often see people strolling along the river on my street. My place is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Cricket, the therapy dog, is always available for petting.

  • I had a pleasant stay at Kathy's place. the hosts were kind and welcoming. Everything was in order and they made it easy on me with logistics. It's a nice quiet part of town and an easy walk to the town center.

    Andre2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s place was the perfect spot for my overnight. It was clean and comfortable, there was everything I could’ve needed - towels, tissues, extra blankets, etc. Her dog, Cricket, was very lovable. She and her husband were friendly and offered restaurant recommendations and local tips. Best of all, the location is more than convenient. Just a very short (beautiful) walk along the river and you have arrived at the center of everything - shops, galleries, restaurants, the Glacial Potholes. Kathy’s place is a true gem and I would love to stay there again

A review says it best; "It's like you're a visiting Garden Goddess (or God!), connecting with and blessing all the vegetables and flowers. Soft rainfall in the night made it extra refreshing and luscious. The futon bed, with sumptuous quilts and fine cotton sheets, was super comfortable. The simplicity and charm cannot be beat in my book! It's a tiny town, and I was able to walk to my dinner rendezvous, visit the bridge of flowers, and find my morning coffee and pastry, easily and joyfully!"
This is a private garden shed in my upper backyard. Meant only for those who are adventurous and enjoy rustic accommodations. Windows and curtains on 3 of 4 sides. with 2 sides getting natural ventilation if wanted. A steep stone stairway leads you to the upper garden where the Garden shed (aka G-shed) looks out on the garden and the surrounding hills and town center which is within walking distance. A full size futon bed awaits with fresh sheets and towels provided. Bathroom available in the main house on the second floor with bath/shower. Shed has views of vegetable garden, The bridge of flowers and the Deerfield River. Although no heat is provided (yet as of Aug 2016) there is an ample amount of wool and down comforters at your disposal for colder climes.
Shellburne Falls is a wonderful little village with many delicious restaurants and artisans studios. The bridge of flowers ,glacial potholes are some of The natural attractions will see here in town. We are 10 minutes from Berkshireast ski resort with mountain biking, zip lining and mountain coaster and Zoar Outdoor, Crab Apple white water rafting. We have some of the best motorcycle as well as bicycling roads in the Northeast.
  • The cabin is such an adorable place. If you want to experience the magic of New England, stay there!

    Amy2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • As other reviewers have said, this is a charming shed, very clean with a comfortable cozy bed full of quilts and an enormous down comforter. It feels like glamping. The location is very central and convenient. I enjoyed sitting on the little porch reading, journaling and enjoying the beautiful scenery. A great co-op, and wonderful restaurants in walking distance makes for a lovely stay. I will say that it is located on a main road and I found that traffic began early in the morning and the noise made it difficult for me to sleep (stayed here in summer with windows wide open). I would bring ear plugs next time...and I would stay here again as the rustic charm outweighs the traffic noise for me.

    Amy2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Second time around was just as good as the first. Having the opportunity to get to Shelburne Falls again, this was the only place that came to mind. And rightfully so. The shed was just as comfortable as I remember it being. And even with the temperatures being hot for New England standards, the combination of natural ventilation and the fan in one of the open windows helped to keep it nice and cooled it off well at night. Kelly, as always, was wonderful with communication in the leadup to and during the visit. Still very highly recommended. Shame it took me three years to get back, but I'm happy I did.

    Michael2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • You can sit on the shed's little porch at night, looking out over Shelburne Falls, and have a glass of wine while you watch the fireflies come out - something I haven't seen for awhile. It's a sweet place and the house - where you journey for the bathroom - is just lovely - with beautiful hardwood floors, a working loom in the living area and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom! Also the location can't be beat - you can walk into Shelburne Falls in minutes - or take the Bridge of Flowers route and take a little more time to absorb the beauty. Thank you Kelly!

    Susan2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique spot in Shelburne Falls. A very simple place to lay your head. Kind of like camping.

    Louisa2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a must-stay expereince. It is right in town, but in the cabin, you feel like you are in the enchanted woods in the Berkshires. The bedding (i.e. the down comforter) was sublime. It was such a cute authentic Berkshire expereince. Now having discovered the cabin, I think I will be a regular staying there on my short vacations to the New England!

    Amy2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • You haven't lived until you've slept in the Garden Shed! If you're adventurous, you can't beat the price or the location. The view of the stars on a clear night is to die for and I woke up both mornings to a view over the sunflowers of mists of fog in the valley over the river. It's like camping but much more comfortable.

    Dan2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I made a last minute request, which Kelly accepted and made ready for me. You can expect quiet and calm — most of the time! A couple trains came chugging by during the night, but that’s part of the charm of this little town.

Tucked into one end of my 1830 federal house is a lovely private space with many period features (such as wallpaper from the late 19th century, original pine flooring, plaster walls and quality construction). There is a large private deck off the living room, a gas stove to sit by on cold days, a spacious bathroom and pretty views of our little valley in Shelburne. Shinglebrook Farm is a small working farm with cows, goats and pigs all pastured together and often within view.
The farm is located 3 miles from the junction of route 2 and I91 in Greenfield, Mass. it is close to Berkshire East (skiing and zip lining), river activities on the Deerfield river, Shelburne Falls (Bridge of Flowers, Potholes and some excellent eateries), the 5 college area, hiking, biking and some of the most beautiful scenery in the northeast. There is no actual kitchen in the space but there is a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee grinder and maker, water boiler etc.... If someone wanted to use a grill, I have one available. There is a comfy vintage camper that is available as an add- on to this space. It would sleep two more people and actually has a little stove and fridge in it. Add- on only for $50/night.
Although we are only a few miles from Interstate 91, you would never know it!
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Beth's place! It was rustic, beautiful and serene with friendly dogs and farm animals to boot! Beth was extremely responsive and left thoughtful touches in the home, including local cider and dog treats (in case you wanted to meet her pups!).

    Cassandra2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We came back for our second trip here and Beths place never seizes to amaze us. We did a quick weekend trip before the holidays for our anniversary and it was just what we needed. Can’t wait to come back, again! Thank you Beth!

    Brittany2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place was as described. Beth was very responsive. We hade no issues at all. The location was perfect for our exploration of the beautiful upper Pioneer Valley.

    Jill2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Beth's place. The house was clean and cozy. A perfect spot for a quiet weekend get away.

    Emily2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • It is a legitimate farm and we had a wonderful time out in the rural area of Shelburne Falls

    Sean2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beth’s apartment is a beautiful countryside respite! We adored the beautiful original wallpaper, meeting some farm animal friends, and chatting with her. Very comfortable bed (and air mattress, too) and cozy chaise lounge where I enjoyed reading. And outside— lovely garden and views! Highly recommend a stay here anytime of year. Thanks, Beth!

    Olivia2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beth’s place was the perfect location for a work trip and a lovely place to relax after a long day. The communication was excellent and very friendly. Gorgeous sun through the windows in the morning- beautiful property. Thank you!

    Susan2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find this was. We had such a great time here. From the goats on the hillside in the morning to the pups roaming the yard coming up to the porch to visit, we really couldn’t have asked for a better stay. It’s off the beaten path but still so close to all the things you need. Beth was SO wonderful— she even welcomed us with some of her homemade jam which was to-die-for. We already can’t wait to come back hopefully for peak foliage season. Thanks for making this everything we could have asked for and all of what we needed to recharge!

Quiet and cozy setting in a convenient central location just steps from downtown shops, restaurants, bike path, Unity Park, Discovery Center, Connecticut River and Turners Falls Dam. This listing is for a master private bedroom with a queen sized mattress as well as a queen sized futon in the room for extra guests or children
  • The bed was very comfortable. It was nice and quiet in the room. It was the perfect temperature to get a great night’s sleep, which we did.

  • Ashley‘s place is a lovely, and charming place to stay. I would highly recommend it! I can’t wait to come back in the future and eat at Ashley‘s restaurant, Five Eyed Fox. Which is in the same building. I was only there for one night so there to study and, unable to actually leave the building. It was lovely neighborhood to drive into. Looking forward to seeing that neighborhood and Ashley again!

    Patricia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and central place to stay while in Turner's Falls. And it sits above Ashley's wonderful Five Eyed Fox restaurant which is a fantastic place for brunch/dinner. Enjoy!

    Jim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The room is in a cool second floor apartment in the center of Turner's Falls. You have to access it through the kitchen, but it is big and nicely decorated and has a table, futon, bed... basically a lot of options. Kitchen is spacious with restaurant grade implements. Didn't encounter host on my brief stay but communication was good.

    Eric2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

  • Great spot! Close to everything in town.

    Todd2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this apartment was amazing. The pictures don’t do the space justice as it was much more spacious than anticipated. This was the perfect place to stay right in the heart of Shelburne. The town is wonderful, don’t miss the bowling alley, the fudge factory, or the book store. A lovely trip all around.

    Angela2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s place was super clean and very convenient. We were able to eat out a few times just by walking down the street. We had a fantastic time and all of her directions were very clear.

    Allison2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This roomy apartment was a great place right in the middle of the village. We loved watching the world go by. The heat and hot water were awesome.

  • Great cozy place in a wonderful location.

    Judith2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's apartment is nicely decorated and furnished and it has a nice view of Bridge Street. However, the best part of staying here is the location. Shelburne Falls is a lovely village. You can easily walk downstairs, grab a cup of coffee, explore the Bridge of Flowers, Potholes, local shops and restaurants. Make sure to visit Salmon Falls Gallery overlooking the falls.

    Joe2019-10-13T00:00:00Z

*coronavirus update* long term encouraged ck before instant book. Our newly renovated efficiency apartment overlooks downtown to the front and the Bridge of Flowers to the side. This is an ideal location for 1-4 people who want easy in-and-out with in-town convenience. A large roof deck and side yard provide extra privacy, and sunshine fills the wood interior during the day. Public lots in the front provide plenty of parking and lights at night. Come & Enjoy! We are Eco-Friendly & 420 Friendly
This is a private second and third floor Suite. The building and airbnb continue to get upgrades by Jim, with custom woodwork and a fresh new feel. Entering the AirBNB you’ll find a wooden hallway that leads up to a heated floor bathroom with a walk-in tile shower. Out the glass door, you’ll find a large private roof deck with table and chairs, which makes a peaceful place to kick back and relax. Turning to your left you will find an open layout efficiency kitchen with dining table, local info, games, coffee, and tea. The connecting room has a natural latex king bed, a smart tv with movies and music, an infrared fireplace for heat and ambience in the winter and an air conditioner to cool in the summer. Upstairs we made two new full size beds and a hang out area, with plenty of room for morning yoga and stretching. The building is insulated between floors and walls, so noise is not typically an issue, but we ask you please respect quiet hours late at night and early morning. Upon arrival, you’ll find the place lit up at night inside and out, and a key on the counter after we’ve communicated via text. We encourage recycling and composting and ask you please specify the amount of people in your reservation so we can make the space appropriately. Thank you, and we hope you have a great stay. Sincerely, -Jim, Isabela, and Marlee
Shelburne Falls is a great little town surrounded by hills, a river that ran through it, and a lot to do! There’s fly fishing, antique shops, the coop, local artist shops, the art coop,, random music and music festivals, yoga, meditation centers, and more and more. The Baker Suite is a great place to base local activities, because of its close to everything in town, and town is central to so much more. Check out Berkshire East for skiing, mountain biking, zip lining... Head over the mountain to MassMocha for a fun adventure, or chill about town with a morning walk, lunch at Hearty Eats, shopping at the Bridge Street Bizarre and artists shops, head back to relax on the roof deck, before the evening stroll over the Bridge of Flowers to the Blue Rock for dinner, and catch the last acts of open mic at Floodwaters Brewery. No doubt Shelburne Falls does have a way of making magic happen.
  • We've stayed at both of JIm's places and can't decide which one we love more. Both are as close to Shelburne Fall's downtown as possible: clean, stylish, relaxing...Thanks, JIm and girls!

  • This place is perfect. In downtown. Across from an amazing bowling alley. So much to do. Very clean and spacious.

    Mitra2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Place was sparkling clean, in a perfect location, and quiet. The main bed was very firm, but had enough blankets to make it a little bit plush, which I needed. Parking was convenient in the lot out front. The bathroom location was a little unorthodox, but was still convenient and private enough and ultimately served its purpose. I would stay here again.

  • This charming house was perfect for our party of five. It's a 10-minute walk on a private street to Shelburne's main street. We were here during the winter, when temperatures dropped to the 20s, but we were toasty and warm. Both bathrooms were nearly remodeled and sparkling clean. Hope we can return during the summer to take advantage of the river in the backyard.

As a woman traveling alone I felt safe and Cathy made it clear that she was accessible 24/7. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a home away from home.

An artfully renovated room in the heart of the village of Shelburne Falls, just 100 yards to the Bridge of Flowers. There is an outside fire pit and a variety of restaurants and excellent coffee less than 2 minute walk. I live in the home with my son who is often away at school. There is also an attached apartment. I have another listing that is adjacent to this room, (1 guest) and when that is booked, you would share a bathroom with that person. Profile self descriptions helps my process!
  • Do not hesitate to stay at Diana's Airbnb. All the reviews are correct. Diana goes out of her way to help her guests feel comfotable. Our room was delightful, the bed was comfortable and there were plenty of heavy blankets. The coffee was delicious. Thank you Diana.

    Nancy2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • When you book with Diana, you will find a well loved HOME with character and love. Personal touches and the hospitality made it really feel like a home away from home. You wake up to the comfort of a relaxing bed and cozy comforter. The stairs would announce your presence in the morning, and Diana would greet you with an offering of coffee. The water from the tap is crystal clear and refreshing as if from an expensive filter. When you open the doors they wish you a "welcome home" and "can't wait to see you again". The home is a very short walk to welcoming shops and comforting food. Being here feels like Diana's home is the opportunity to be a part of a big welcoming family. Everyone shares experiences and ideas to make the most of your trip. Even though this was a one time trip, I want to come up with an excuse to come back.

    Angela2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Diana's house is so dreamy! I arrived super late but she was gracious and kind. She was sensitive to my privacy and provided everything I needed to have a very comfortable, happy stay. The bed was amazing! Best sleep I have had in weeks! The room had an artistic, antique, artful design. I loved it. She offered me delicious coffee in the morning and I loved chatting with her. Thanks, Diana!

Diana helped a lot to make my stay enjoyable, with good advice of surroundings, as well checking up some really nice flyfishing spots, so I could stay my last Day within a mile from Shelburne Falls with really great fishing, instead of 2 hrs commuting.

Our Hummingbird Room is a sunny, ground-floor room in an 1840s house in the heart of historic Shelburne Falls. Guests are welcome to enjoy the room and its wide veranda, or come across the street and relax in our guest living room. The Hummingbird Room is a five-minute walk to the Bridge of Flowers and the many shops, restaurants, and galleries that make Shelburne Falls an ideal destination or base location for tours around Central New England.
The Hummingbird House is located in a quiet residential neighborhood just two short blocks from the Bridge of Flowers--a stunning 90-year-old botanical garden straddling the Deerfield River.
  • The host is very friendly and very welcoming. We were driving in a snow storm and he made a point to make sure we had adequate parking and even lent us something to scrape off our car in the morning. Check-in and check-out was easy even though we were not quite sure when we would make it in. The location was the perfect walking distance to the downtown. I highly recommend this stay!

  • The Hummingbird Room was a perfect base of operations for an evening of exploring Shelburne Falls and worked beautifully as a jumping off point for a weekend of western Massachusetts activities. The room was thoughtfully and comfortably outfitted and just a couple of blocks from the main drag of town. Highly recommended!

  • This place exceeding our expectations in so many ways. We never considered renting anything that was categorize as just a “private room” only usually ever considered renting “entire places”, but we were booking last minute and didn’t have many options. We were worried that it would be awkward not having the whole place to ourselves, but it was perfect. Super private and felt as if we rented a room in a super charming Inn as opposed a room in someone’s home. The location was perfect. The room was big and bright. The host was extremely accommodating. We feel very fortunate to have stayed there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

This is an old house and full of art objects and colorful, funky style. It can be a bit drafty in winter. It has high ceilings and plaster walls, so will tend to be dustier than a modern house. Nevertheless, people find it very comfortable, and interesting, to visit here! As far as stays longer than one week, I prefer to meet you first before committing to such an arrangement, unless there are exceptional circumstances which we will work out together in advance. Please contact me with your request.
The Central Street neighborhood is very diverse. It is one block up on the Hill above the downtown. There are triple decker apartment buildings, single family homes of varying vintage from the 1870s to the 1930s, and a headstart preschool in an old school building. In this neighborhood are published authors and poets, experimental musicians, single mothers and children, business people, people with disabilities in group housing, artists, bikers, and all types of people. Generally this is a quiet street and people are friendly. It is very convenient to all of the town, parks, river, bike path and the great new skate park with concrete bowl!

This is a cute upstairs apartment in a older New England style home.
Guests have access to the whole 2nd floor apartment (there are stairs to climb) which over looks Main Street.
  • The apartment is in the remodeled second floor (note: full flight of stairs for access!) of an older home with a center stairway. The layout is odd - circular, with the stairs in the center - but very workable. It is very clean, neat, and workable. Zach was extremely responsive any time we emailed him regarding issues.

Our older, well loved home is centrally located a short walk from downtown Greenfield. It is the perfect spot to stay on your trip through the Berkshires as we are less than 5 minutes off of I 91 and route 2. We are 7 minutes from local boarding schools, and 25 minutes from the 5 colleges in Amherst and Northampton. Restaurants, great views, music, and family-friendly activities are nearby. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
A clean, private, and charming 2 bedroom apartment with large windows for a picturesque tree top view. It is spacious and has lots of light. The apartment has a private entrance via exterior stairs. Please note it is on the 3rd floor. We happily keep it stocked with breakfast items, coffee, tea, and fruit.
Our location is great because we are in a family friendly and outdoor adventure hub. We have the convenience of in town living, such as a 24 hour CVS, and laundromat around the corner. We have great local restaurants, a movie theatre, canoeing, and a brand new skate park, all within a 15 minute radius!
  • This is an excellent place to spend a few days. It was actually larger than I was expecting and has everything that you need for a very comfortable stay.

  • This was our second time staying at Sarah’s over Thanksgiving weekend with family in Greenfield. We love this place, but especially Sarah who works hard and is so kind. The apartment is warm and welcoming, with everything you could want. We especially appreciate the lovely retro pink and black bathroom with tons of useful supplies, and a well-stocked kitchen. The apartment has a separate, private entrance up several outdoor staircases, so older folks or those who have trouble with stairs might be challenged.

Welcome to our historic and refurbished colonial home, with plenty of space and comfort for a unique get away. An original homey hearth is a centerpiece in this home. A great space for family dinners. Three bedrooms and another pull-out sofa for plenty of sleeping space. Lots to see and do around the Shelburne area from the Bridge of Flowers to great dining to the Mohawk Trail.
The home was originally a manse for the church next door, so lots of history. It's been updated in many aspects so you have a totally open modern kitchen while keeping the old colonial feel. There are three full bedrooms with queen beds. A very sunny living room for lounging which also has a pull out sofa for extra sleepers. There are outdoor sitting places either on the front porch or in the garden.
This is a quiet neighborhood with a traditional church next door and some homes on the back road.
  • this house was fantastic for our group - two families with toddlers. we enjoyed the hiking nearby and the proximity to mass Moca (also a big hit with the kiddos). Also the kitchen and hearth were amazing. we had a lot of great meals and hangs in there. Perfect space and location!

    Adam2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb is gorgeous and is convenient to the downtown shelburne falls area, where the bridge of flowers and the glacial potholes are located. There is also a small hiking trail nearby. The downtown area is very cute and there are some very nice little shops. The airbnb was very clean and the fireplace was huge! Definitely kept me warm on a snowy weekend. The rooms are very quaint and comfy. A great place for a weekend getaway!

    Kate2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you like a house with character, you'll love this one. Clearly it's an old house retaining many of those unique features such as the creaky wood floors with nails that look like they were created by a blacksmith, the huge kitchen hearth/fireplace with what used to be a bread oven built right in, the "dry" sink in the hall with a (now decorative) hand crank water pump and so many others. The bathrooms and kitchen have been upgraded to modern standards. The house is very large. Plenty of space for people and things. The upstairs bath is shared with the 2 available bedrooms however it's connected to the master bedroom. The toilet and shower is in a separate room with a door which is very handy for sharing the space. The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of things. And we really appreciated with use of the washer/dryer. The master bedroom was very comfortable however since the windows face Rt. 2, you will hear the road noise. We did not find it a problem. Since we were here in the middle of the winter holidays, we didn't have an opportunity to discover the outdoors options. But we did get to use the wonderful fireplace in the kitchen. I do recommend walking through the town of Shelburne Falls to see the shops and restaurants and playing a couple of games of Candlepin bowling. If you've never played candlepin you've got to try it. It's harder than it looks! And they do have bumpers for little kids. Our 4 year old granddaughter loved it. Lynn and Mark were very helpful answering our questions. Please make sure you pay attention to the directions to the house. At the time I'm writing this the house is NOT located where the Airbnb pin says it is. Apparently the roads have changed names and the mapping software (both on your GPS as well as Airbnb) hasn't caught up yet. It's actually located about 3.5 miles east of Shelburne Falls just off of Rt. 2. It's super easy to find if you follow the directions given.

  • The photos are exactly what this lovely home looks like. The rooms are comfortable, and the fireplace in the kitchen is a delight. Sparkling clean and located near many Berkshire attractions.

  • Lovely country home even bigger and nicer in person! Well stocked and very accommodating to our 6 family members.

    Julia2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The hard wood floors, hearths, and original fixtures, draw you back to the 1800s, the modern bathrooms and appliances make this house functional and relaxing. The master bathtub is amazing! The house is located close to Shelburne falls downtown, and the host has many maps and guidebooks of the area available. My family enjoyed our stay.

    Amanda2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 9 night stay in this historic home. Mark was a wonderful host -he greeted us with a homemade banana bread and quickly responded to any questions. The house is an amazing building- huge house built in the 1800s but beautifully restored with lovely finished wood floors, and stained glass windows throughout. It was quick drive to downtown Shelburne Falls with the beautiful Bridge of Flowers, fun dining and a great candle pin bowling alley. It was an easy drive to hiking and biking which kept us busy all week. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked enabling us to cook most of our meals in the house. We ate some meals on the porch and enjoyed the beautiful weather. As light sleepers, the only downside for us was the road noise from Rte 2.

A cozy country home, we're surrounded by hay fields with big sky and beautiful views with many amenities nearby. Conveniently located 1 mile off Route 91, with easy access to points north (Brattleboro, VT, 15 minutes) and points south (Northampton, MA, 40 minutes). We welcome all walks of life and we are 420 friendly. Please read the listing details for more information.
Our quaint and cozy dormer cape farmhouse was built in 1930 and is surrounded by several acres of hay fields, with a majestic line of sugar maples facing the street. With beautiful surroundings throughout the year, we’re within a 5 to 50 minute drive from places for: biking, hiking, fishing, boating, skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, as well as museums, first-rate restaurants and shopping. During the growing season there is a variety of organically grown berries and fruit available for sale from our garden, as well as freshly made jams, fruit syrups and other preserves year-round. In warm weather, sit out on the arbor-deck in the garden and enjoy beautiful views and sunsets, enjoy a meal or stargaze. Relax on the front porch and enjoy the neighbors’ draft horses and cows across the street. In cold weather we often have our old-fashioned cookstove going, which we use for cooking and baking, as well as a source of heat, and you can relax and read, watch TV, cable or a DVD, or just enjoy the warmth of the stove. Please note that while we are happy to have you enjoy it, we must ask that guests not use the cookstove when we're not home. We’re in a quiet, safe neighborhood; the elementary school is a half mile away and the police station only a mile away. It’s a ten minute drive to a full-size grocery store and twelve minutes to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center. Michael and I are discreet, laid-back hosts, and we try to accommodate schedules as best we can. If at all possible we would like you to check in by 9 pm and check out by noon, but with advance notice we can adjust our time requests. We are happy to work out other arrangements if possible when you let us know in advance.
Bernardston is a small town, about 2000 people. Farms abound, so scenery is pastoral and idyllic. For such a small town, we have quite a few amenities within a 20-minute walk or 1 mile drive to downtown Bernardston, which has: a bakery, diner, art gallery, two pizza and sandwich shops, a deli, convenience store, Dunkin’ Donuts, gas station and the lovely little Cushman library. If you walk in the opposite direction, it’s 15 minutes to Kringle Candle and The Farm Table restaurant, as well as the TownLine Creamie, a seasonal food and soft-serve ice cream stand. From our town website: "Bernardston is a small rural town in western Massachusetts, located in north central Franklin County, on the border between Massachusetts and Vermont. The town is 23.4 square miles in area, with a population of approximately 2100. The town enjoys an Open Town Meeting form of government, with a three member Board of Selectmen." The Railroad House is a cute attached converted barn in the village center with parking, private entrance, 2 floors, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, WiFI, but no television. It is located within just a minute's walk from the famous Bridge of Flowers. Other local attractions include several dining choices from a drugstore soda shop on up to 5-star dining, as well as the country's 2nd oldest bowling alley. On weekends you can often find live music. Train goes by twice/day on average.
Check out our vinyl collection! Use the turntable to adjust the atmosphere to your heart's content.
  • This was our third or fourth stay at the railroad house. We love the quiet, the canal, the wood rooms and the trains.

    Cassie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so great. We stayed here for 7 days while our bathroom was being remodeled and it was the perfect home away from home. It's really beautiful and cozy inside, with a great little sitting area by the turntable and hundreds of records. We drank wine and listened to Blondie and Merle Haggard and played board games on the rug. Everything is beautiful and cute and pleasant. The upstairs sleeping loft is so toasty warm and cozy, as is the gorgeous and clean little bathroom. The location is also excellent--you just pop down one block and you're in downtown Shelburne Falls, right by McCusker's (groceries) and all the restaurants/bars this little town has to offer. We also brought our dog and it is such a relief to know that there are cool places to stay in the area that allow pets. Anyway, I can't say enough good things about this spot--this is our second time renting it and we will definitely be doing so again!

  • Randy and Pat have a wonderful AirBNB in Shelburne Falls. It is probably my favorite place to stay, and that’s saying a lot in a town with several great AirBNBs. I would recommend Randy and Pat’s place to anyone.

    Bryce2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pat and Randy's place was a cozy little place that was perfect for a weekend getaway. The turntable was a great experience to have and browsing the collection reminded us of bands we hadn't heard in years! The location was super ideal, less than 2 minute walk to get food, drinks and coffee! Can't wait to come back!

  • James's place was perfect for my family of 4 plus 2 dogs. We stayed for 4 nights in January. Each of my girls claimed their own bedroom upon arrival and enjoyed their space to chill out after skiing at Berkshire East each day. The spacious apartment was renovated beautifully but they kept the historic features like the exposed brick wall leading to the top floor. Lot's of whimsical art and antiques make this apartment feel like home. Our dogs were able to come and were right at home. We enjoyed walking them up the hill to see the beautiful Victorian homes in the High St. neighborhood. James suggested The Rendezvous and it was the perfect family restaurant right down the street. My husband and I enjoyed trying several of the local small craft brewery beers which were available at the grocery and convenience stores. We didn't have much time to check out Turners Falls but we plan on going back to explore and can't imagine staying anywhere else:)

  • Enjoyed my single room at Edite's house. The location was great, the house full of interesting artistic elements, the bookshelves full of very interesting books. The room was cozy and warm and I had no difficulties sharing the bathroom. She showed me several kinds of good tea and some good coffee in the kitchen I was free to avail myself of. She was friendly, but as I keep to myself, she was thoroughly respectful of my privacy and space. Enjoyed her hip and artistic vibe in a very fun town.

This super tidy, bright bungalow is a short drive to excellent food, coffee and music in downtown Greenfield and Turners Falls. The house is on a sweet, quiet street; neighbors are close by but the property feels very private. We love this spot because of its proximity to town but also to beautiful hiking trails, glorious swimming holes and the hills of southern Vermont. It's also convenient if you're in the area to visit private schools or the five colleges.
This house is only used occasionally by Kristi's mom, who has a very high standard for cleanliness and order. So the space is exceptionally neat, uncluttered and comfortable but also kid-friendly, because when she's here she is often hosting our three young children. It's an open layout, super efficient and cozy. The beds and linens are new and many guests have said the king mattress was the most comfortable thing they've ever slept on. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics you'll need for cooking, as well as a variety of teas and coffee.
  • It has great amenities. For anyone visiting when it's cold the place heats up quickly.

    Georgia2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable house, conveniently located on the edge of downtown Greenfield, near Route 2 and I-91. Hosts were great with communication and made some gracious accommodations to make our stay easier. Bonus was that there were some puzzles and other items for our toddler.

    Joshu2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described. Very clean and easy to locate. Great communication with the hosts. Perfect for a family traveling. Loved how they set out kids books and toys along with the high chair and pack 'n' play for us. If we are back in the area again, we'll definitely check out this spot.

    Cristina2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Darry and Kristi's place is a nice two-bedroom house on a quite street with a quick access to the main roads. It suited perfectly our family of four. We found everything as advertised and had a pleasant and comfortable stay as part of our foliage trip to New England. The communication was quick and they provided plenty of information, local tips and suggestions.

One of the few stays in the area accessible by a private entrance, it includes a bedroom with queen size pillowtop bed, private bathroom with a walk-in shower, guest-controlled heat/air conditioning, and a countertop workspace for eating or getting work done. The separate eat/work area includes a microwave, refrigerator, hotpot, coffee maker, dishware, utensils, tea and coffee. Iron and board, extra blankets, and a fan are also available. There is no smoking in the suite.
Nestled under a hundred-year old maple, this non-smoking suite invites you to snuggle in with a fresh cup of coffee and a good book from the many provided while the leaves or snow falls outside. A private entrance limits the need to check in with your host should peace and quiet be what you're looking for. Enjoy your own private bathroom and free parking right outside your door.
Our home is in a quiet gem of a neighborhood a short distance of downtown Greenfield, Greenfield Community College, many local farms, private schools, restaurants, beautiful hikes and places to paddle. 20 minutes to the Five Colleges, Yankee Candle Village, Erving State Forest, and Shelburne Falls. 30 minutes to Zoar Outdoor, Berkshire East, and Brattleboro VT
  • Great, peaceful space. Private entrance, comfortable bed/pillows, nice amenities (coffee choices, teas, electric water kettle, mini fridge, plenty of hanging and drawer space, space heater in the bathroom, white noise maker). Pam was very responsive and a wonderful host. The house was very easy to find and conveniently located. Would definitely stay here again.

    Laura2020-03-16T00:00:00Z

    Beth2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • A hidden gem! We were looking for a place over the holidays when visiting my sister's home nearby. She found Pam's place for us and we are so glad she did! It is located in a quiet neighborhood, very close to 91 and Rt. 2. It feels like you are in farm country, yet GCC and the town are a quick 5 minute drive away. The space is lovely, with a bed guaranteed to provide a restful sleep. Believe the pictures! As we spent most of our time at my sister's, we did not really explore the amenities provided until just before checking out. We found plenty of thoughtful touches we will take advantage of on our next visit. Pam is a thoughtful hostess, checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly. What an oasis in the holiday craziness!

    Sarah2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pam's place is a great oasis for a visit to the Greenfield area. Everything is clean, new, and comfortable. I rented it for 3 nights for my parent's instead of a hotel, and it was everything they needed - quiet, comfortable, with a large, beautiful bathroom with its own heater, which they loved. Centrally located and in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely rent it for them again.

    Laura2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot that we love to return to. Best place in Greenfield!

    Beth2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, small, but at a friendly price. Very clean and nicely decorated. Convenient to have the mini fridge and microwave. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Very comfy bed and very nice lighting. ....good books here but not enough time to read them. !
