We are excited to share our beloved “Chippesippi on 61” with you. Located in Reads Landing where the Chippewa and the Mississippi meet. We chose to completely renovate this home over the past year. Complete with a beautiful kitchen, two bedrooms, WiFi, roku tv, washer and dryer, front porch, gazebo over looking the Mississippi, and much more! Located just across the road from the notorious Reads Landing brewery and within 10 min of beautiful Lake city and Wabasha, home of the Eagle Center.
Interested in a summer pontoon cruise across the river to the Pickle factory? Just let us know and we would love to take you out for an additional price. We love to host and entertain!
Reads landing is a quaint little town on Hwy. 61. The Wabasha county Historical museum and Reads landing Brewery are a couple of attractions within walking distance. There are endless activities such as boating, golf courses, fantastic restaurants, and coffee shops located in both Lake city and Wabasha.
  • I enjoyed my stay at the charming cottage. Lots of special touches.

This is a beautiful historic apartment with modern decor in the heart of Wabasha. It is only two blocks from The National Eagle Center and a 5 min drive from Coffee Mill. You will also be close walking distance to the river and many nearby restaurants. There is free street parking right outside the apartment.
  • Based on the pictures, I was expecting a stay in a charming little apartment. Not only was it VERY charming, but it exceeded my expectations in so many ways - comfort, style and more. Sarah's apartment is perfect for a creative getaway!

    Brenda2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful. Certainly an unexpected gem in the heart of Wabasha. It worked out perfectly for Grumpy Old Men Days...we made quite the splash walking though town in our grumpy costumes and our Dumb and Dumber plunge costumes...CHAMPS!

    Nate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculately clean, a perfect combination of classic charm (high ceilings, thick woodwork) with modern amenities and upgrades. Tastefully decorated with thoughtful details.....and a very comfy bed!

    Tonnie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing. We've had many stays in AirBnb's and this one has been one of the best! Sparkling clean from top to bottom, beautifully decorated, thoughtful touches everywhere you turn. She anticipated all of her guest's needs and that makes all the difference. We loved cooking in the kitchen, the super plush towels, easy Netflix/Roku use, the extra boudoir room space with large mirror, and the comfy bed in the sun-filled room. We did notice noise from the bar below (live music) but she was kind to provide ear plugs for guests. Communication was fast and helpful, would definitely recommend!!

    Kristi2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic! Would recommend to anyone! Clean and stylish!

    Jonathan2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s space was lovely for our weekend stay! Perfectly located, extra cozy and well decorated and furnished. The space had everything we could have needed.

    Carleen2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great, stylish super clean place. We had a great stay and enjoyed the space. Would recommend others stay here!

    Melissa2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming, clean and updated apartment. We had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen has just about everything you'd probably find in your own kitchen which makes cooking a breeze! The only down side is that all of the street/sidewalk noise is very noticeable. I plan to come back in the summer and would stay here every time! Great experience with Sarah and recommend checking this place out!

    Wabasha, Mn, United States

Gorgeous, secluded home moments away from Wabasha. Enjoy Septoberfest, one of the many terrific restaurants in the area, Music Under the Bridge, or any wonderful activity this little river town has to offer. The house is fully furnished, with two bedrooms, but with plenty of room to sleep many more. This truly is a one-of-a-kind property with a view that could only best be described by simply reading our reviews. Located between Lake City and Wabasha, in Reads Landing.
While the house is meticulous and spacious, it is the breathtaking view of the entire Tiffany Wildlife Refuge that makes it so spectacular. You can see almost to Durand, Wisconsin. Take a moment to read our reviews. We have the best-kept secret in the area. Fully furnished kitchen; master bathroom off the master bedroom. Huge living space, and a welcoming host available to serve your every need.
  • Lovely house, easy to find and had the best view you can ever imagine. Highly recommend.

    Lisa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures barely do this place justice. Spectacular view and an awesome place to stay. Thank you Dale!

    Eli2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dale’s place was so beautiful, and located in a way that you’d never suspect there was a major road running between you and the river. Place was sparkling clean when we arrived, and Dale was very communicative leading up to our stay. The full kitchen was also great for whipping up a full breakfast in the morning. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the river valley scenery.

    Vic2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great View from this place. You will be able to fully relax in this home.

    Scott2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly perfect. The minute you walk in the front door, you will lose yourself in the view! It isn’t just the view that makes this place perfect. The owners have thought of everything. The kitchen is fully stocked with every pot/pan/cooking/serving utensil you would need to have a large dinner party. The kitchen is very large and the table has extra leaves. There was plenty of room for a family dinner and board games afterwards. There was even a disco light/karaoke machine in the kitchen closet. The kids had a blast “entertaining” us with it. The décor throughout the house is beautiful and tasteful. The master suite is huge with a private deck overlooking the river and its own big bathroom fully stocked with towels, hairdryer, etc. There were three airbeds in the master closet and loads of extra blankets and pillows. Bring your binoculars! The eagles were quite active in the morning flying over the river. What a treat it was to be able to sit with our morning coffee, have the gas fire place going, and watch them. I cannot think of a single drawback with this place. Even the drive up the winding road thru the woods to the house was spectacular! We will definitely look to stay here again.

  • Great place for family getaway. Best place I have stayed . Dale has put time into making sure it is equipped with all the thing you could possibly need . Very clean . Comfortable seating and beds . Spectacular view. Highly recommended this place. Close to several area attractions so you can enjoy time out and come back to relax and unwind.

    LuAnn2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The host is kind and welcoming—full of good advice but not intrusive. His house is comfortable and spotlessly clean and comes with a refrigerator stocked with beverages—wine, beer, and soft drinks. The house itself sits high atop a bluff that overlooks the Chippewa River’s delta with the Mississippi. The panoramic views reminded me that our dear planet is indeed a wondrous and glorious place, that it is good to be a part of it.

    Guy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is simply amazing. From the cleanliness of the home to the views - which, I have to say are some of the most amazing views I've had in an AirBnB. The sunrise is beyond words with the views over the river. Dale spares no expense with the amenities in the home. The home is exceptionally comfortable, quiet and serene. My wife and I and our friends have already made plans to return next year. Don't think twice about booking some time at Dale's property. You'll be happy you did!!!

Welcome to our home. Your private upstairs room is a cozy space with a queen bed and two chairs. The space has independent temperature control so you can keep it where YOU like it. There's a mirror with a dresser, TV, nightstands with charging stations for your electronics and a closet with hangers. Our house is a new-to-us 100 year old work in progress. We try to reflect this in our price. It does include steps that are on the steep side and one bathroom on the main floor that we all share.
Our house originally shows up on local tax records as far back as the 1850's. There have been some additions made along the way leaving a quirky old farmhouse. Our favorite feature is the window in the sitting room that opens up into the wall. Your private spaces are all finished but the common areas are getting a facelift.
We love our neighborhood. It's very quiet and easily walkable. Sidewalks are intermittent but has never been an issue. We are just 6 blocks off the water and within walking distance to many great eating establishments. We are three blocks from the gas stations in town.
  • Amanda's place was clean and exceeded my expectations. She was a friendly host and was more than happy to provide local tips. Her place is a great value for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

Small house/cottage with a large, park-like yard on the Great River Road at Lake Pepin, just outside charming Pepin, Wisc. An ideal launch point for adventures on the river and into the hills. Conveniently located for sailing, cycling, fishing, boating, wineries, craft breweries, and fine dining. It's a pleasant venue for relaxation and unplugging from the day-to-day and enjoying life's simple pleasures.

The decor in this house is clean and simple. We think of it as modern country. The light is incredible with a living room of floor to ceiling windows. The house is surrounded by an apple orchard and rolling hills. Recently featured in Martha Stewart Living July/Aug 2019.
The space is artfully decorated with found objects and natural materials. It has a comfy window seats and a living room that looks out over rolling hills. The house is situated next to two classic barns and a chicken coop. The bathroom has a glass shower that looks out to nature.
The house is 2 and 1/2 miles from Lake Pepin. The area is surrounded by unique bluffs and rolling hills.

Welcome to our home. We have a comfortable shared living room and mainfloor bathroom. Just in case sharing space isn't your thing, there's a pseudo private sitting room set up just down the hall upstairs that you can utilize. Your upstairs room is a cozy space with 2 twin beds and a fire TV that you can tap into your accounts with. You get to control the temp in the space, heat and ac. We have a mirror with a quaint 3-drawer dresser. A nightstand that's shared and a place to hang your things.
This is a cozy but functional 2nd floor room for two. There is a small dresser with a fire TV, mirror, night stand and hooks for hanging things. There's a little window a.c. unit and independent baseboard heat so you can control the temp yourself. Limited outlets available so we have provided a power strip on the nightstand between the beds for your convenience. Our dog Aspen sleeps with us at night, is never allowed upstairs and hangs out on his chair when we are home. He does like to greet guests with a few barks. The shared bathroom is located on the 1st floor (for now) so guests will have to navigate the steps between their room and the bathroom.
We live in a great neighborhood in Pepin. Our neighbors are super friendly and typically wave at everyone. We are walking distance to pretty much everything in town including many restaurants, the waterfront and the gas station. Things are pretty quiet with just the occasional neighborhood dog bark.
  • What a great value stay! Perfect for two just crashing for the night, and Amanda was great to work with! thanks again Amanda

Our room in an interesting century old house was comfy and just right. We appreciated the treats and water carafe. Also enjoyed visiting with our friendly host and dog, Aspen.

  • Absolutely gorgeous space with an amazing view of the lake. Great place, great hosts!

  • Our family had a great time spending the weekend here. Everyone from age 3 to age 65 loved the space. The patio in the summer would be spectacular to watch the sunset over the Minnesota bluffs. The hosts were easy to get in touch with when we had a small issue and they were also quite accommodating. The kids asked if we could come back to the "renting home" in the summer.

    Jessica2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place in Pepin. Will stay again, thanks!

  • This home is beautiful, homey and warm. It's actually much more beautiful than the pictures show. A tiny, historic town very near Laura Ingalls Widler's birthplace in the Big Woods, water, bluffs, sailboats on Lake Pepin (we didn't see them, they were dry docked for winter, but I know they're there). Huge bedrooms, a table each for meals and games, cozy furniture and a cookable kitchen. The shower is wonderful.

    Lisa2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Place and hosts are wonderful. Highly recommend.

    Diane2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a lovely time at this home. The space is cozy, especially the living room, with three sofas and a big chair that overlook the lake. We enjoyed relaxing, reading, talking, assembling a puzzle, and playing games in this space. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were quite comfortable. We were greeted with a loaf of artisan bread and a bottle of wine left on the table for us. The trains, which run on the tracks across from the street, did not bother us. Matthew and Amy were very responsive to any questions.

    Renee2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great home in a great location downtown Pepin, beautiful views of the lake. Cozy and affordable. Enjoyed the walks to get ice cream with the grandkids - Very Nice Stay.

Very comfy older home with a beachy decor. it is actually 140 yrs old!Beautiful view of the river, eagle watching and boat traffic watching. One block down hill to Reads Landing Brewery, and across the road from Wabasha historical society museum. One mile upriver from Wabasha. Huge yard. Sorry, we have no boat access or wifi😁
Very friendly neighbors on a dead end road
  • This was a lovely older but well cared for home. The view was beautiful and we had easy access to the town of Wabasha were we attended all the great fall festivities!!!

  • Kim's place is nice and cozy with plenty of sleeping options. You can grill out and enjoy the outdoors, or walk down to Reads Landing Brewing Company for dinner if you don't want to cook. There's a great view of the river from the back deck in the morning to enjoy your coffee.

    Nicolas2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, Beachy feeling house. Feels like summer.

    Deborah2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very homey and comfortable. We loved the cute and quirky touches. Loved the chalk paint guest register too. The views of the river and bluffs were amazing. The price was fair and would definitely reserve again.

    Linda2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Clean place just off of Hwy 61 and just up the hill from Reads Landing Brewery (which has good food and beer). Only 3 miles from Wabasha. Large place that sleeps a lot of people. Liked the fact that there was not a 2 night min on the weekend. Even though we did not cook, there is a fully supplied kitchen. Host provided coffee; a nice touch. Good view of the Mississippi River out the back windows.

  • Nestled in the picturesque landscape of the upper Mississippi valley, The pepin cottage is a wonderful getaway! Brad and Danni were amazing. Their thoughtfulness was much better than expected. We spent our Christmas holiday and they made sure every detail was not overlooked. They even decorated the space for Christmas...making sure we had a Christmas tree for Santa to put gifts under! Upon checking in, we were welcomed to the lovely scent of essential oil diffuser that was thoughtfully turned on and the warm glow of Christmas lights tastefully decorating the main floor. Throughout the house are very thoughtful extras. My parents loved the bottle of wine from the local vineyard, the kids loved the endless board games and video games offered, my wife loved the quality of the soaps and shampoo...not the typical warehouse club special found in most rentals, and I loved that all of my family were happy with the home I picked. I asked if there was enough snow for sledding for my 5-year-old and they even thought to bring sleds for her to use! Our stay was wonderful, thanks Brad and Danni!

    Nicholas2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our "go-to" spot in Pepin. Thanks again!

  • A wonderful place to stay-with all the touches that make your stay feel like home.

    Lynette2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Danni are wonderful hosts. The Pepin Cottage has a very warm, cozy feeling to it. It worked out nicely for a group of guys engaged in outdoor activities In the Tiffany Bottoms wildlife area. This place would be perfect for a group of people exploring the wineries and other activities that the Pepin area offers. I have visited Pepin many times over the years and finding the Pepin Cottage was an added bonus. I hope to book with Brad and Danni again in the future.

    Mike2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cute little home! My kids loved it. Lots of video games and Board games to keep them entertained. Very thoughtful to have extra items Incase guests forgets anything. The home is very spacious and bigger on the inside than how it looks on the outside. The location was super close to the winery down the road that we were attending. We only stayed two nights, wished we had more time to enjoy the fire pit and the BBQ grill.

    Shery2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Danni were most accommodating and quick to reply to any questions. Their home is very clean and so well appointed with amenities. Nearly anything we looked for was already there. The home is super cozy. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the beautiful area of Pepin. We will be back!

This is a small guest suite. It has a private entrance with its own kitchen and bathroom, shower, lake view of Lake Pepin. This space is approximately 250 square feet and comparable to a hotel room. It has a daybed with twin trundle and comfortably sleeps 2, anymore than 2 people would be too crowded. It is a great space for the adventurer who needs a place to stay that is nice and convenient to Lake City, Reads Landing and Wabasha.
We are right off highway 61 above Camp Lacopulis between reads landing and Lake City, MN. This unit has a lake view.
  • The lovely birch accents were perfect for this studio space. The decor and fireplace created a romantic ambiance and the day bed with trundle was comfortable and cozy for a wonderful weekend of relaxing and enjoying the winter nights. Even the complimentary wine and tips for where to get breakfast were perfect! Nathan and I would definitely come back, because I bet it’s even more inviting in the summer!

    Carissa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved our stay at this cozy spot! Would recommend to anyone and will be booking again if ever in the area! Hosts were very friendly & down to earth.

    Theresa2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place in the perfect location! We had a 90 pound German Shepherd and a 7 month old along with us. The space was small, but it was perfect for what we needed! We also were out and about all the days we were there. Great recommendations from Mike, and so pleasant when we actually arrived the night before on accident. Very accommodating and we can’t wait to stay again. Thank you!!!

    Laura2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was easy to find and exactly as described. The host provided charcoal, lighter fluid and wood for the fire. The studio we originally rented was having trouble with the tv signal so we were offered one of the bigger tiny houses for the same price of the studio. This was a very thoughtful offer since the price is significantly more on AirBnb. We are happy we our stay at Bohemian Rhapsody. Each cabin has their own grill, fire pit and patio chairs. The morning view from inside the house was spectacular with the wall that was all windows facing the lake.

    Iris Yadira2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved our stay at your cozy Birch Studio. Upon arrival we couldn’t believe the beautiful view of the water. Mike was extremely welcoming and helpful with suggestions for activities during our stay and gave us a tour of one of the amazing tiny homes. We loved being able to bring our dog along with us. We will definitely be back to Bending River Cove :-)

  • This place couldn't have been nicer! The view and location is unmatched in anything we have ever rented before. Clean, with everything you need. Soft towels, comfy bed, well appointed kitchen for eating in. Enjoyed the hot tub. Not pool weather, but it looks relaxing. So many cozy places to settle into, both inside and out. Excellent value for the $$. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Kitchen, dining, living area was great for gatherings. Plenty of outdoor seating. Hot tub was our favorite and was an important amenity. Host was quick to respond. Super soft towels :) Will return next year.

  • Highly recommend!!! Our family was thrilled to have use of this incredible location. The outdoor space is fantastic with room to spread out or have inmate connections. Very large bedrooms and a stellar pool house/bedroom. We where in the area with our adult children and their significant others for a wedding in Pepin WI, at Villa Bellezza... a perfect stay for the event. Every you could need is provide. Well stocked kitchen. House sounds system brought the stay a little extra in the best way!!!

    Katherine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience! The view of the river is amazing and all the openness of the house allows you to see for miles. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus. There was plenty of room for all us (6 adults and 4 children). Terry was an excellent host! Very easy to get ahold of and happy to answer question. He suggested a few fun things to do in the are and all were wonderful suggestions. A great place to enjoy a small town with many little jewels of MN and WI tucked away and not to far away. Overall we would come back in a heartbeat!

Although we have just purchased this Camper neighbors I've met are friendly. Because we live in Pepin if there should be anything you need we are handy to talk to. Bedding & linens are furnished, the kitchen has all the essentials needed to prepare & serve a meal, you need only bring your food! Basic condiments are furnished for cooking and seasoning your food. A short drive or even walk to the winery or waterfront.
This RV is all yours for the length of your stay
The waterfront is only blocks away, as is the winery. A public park, Family Dollar, Homemade Cafe are all within a short walking distance. The open air Garden Pub & Pickle Factory as well as Harbor View are also favorites of locals and visitors alike. The Country Stop offers fruits & vegetables when in season as well as yard ornaments & gift shopping. Scattered around Pepin are other gift & specialty shops. Of course Pepin is known as the birthplace of Laura Ingles of Little House on the Prairie fame, visit the museum and come back in September for Laura Ingles Wilder Days.

We made our meals in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoyed movie night and game night by the fireplace. What a relaxing place to spend our weekend and the area has so much to see! Thank you so much Hilbert and Nancy!!

Gilbert and Nancy’s place is so cute, cozy, and clean; not to mention they are great hosts and communication was a breeze! You will LOVE this place and never want to leave!

  • Had a lovely stay at Hilbert and Nancy’s Alpine Escape. It was the perfect place to rest our heads while in town for a wedding. It’s quiet, has great views, and makes for a nice getaway!

  • Loved our stay at alpine escape! Visited in the summertime for a wedding nearby. The place was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We loved the back porch option for privacy and nice natural setting. Overall, great stay!

    Lindsay2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Quite and lovely place up in the hills . Beautiful scenery and views from every window. Neighbors waived and said hi but pretty much keep to themselves . Easy to get to and from local spots didn’t need navigation after the first time. The Host were readily available and answered all questions quickly pretty much more than you could ask for . Our only issue is that we wish we could’ve stayed longer!!

Hellooo potential guests, This brand new tiny house is situated on Lake Pepin. Beautiful views of Lake and lots of great Eagle watching. This is decorated in a bohemian modern flair. It’s perfect for couples, but does have sleeping space for 4. This is the first of 5 tiny houses located on a resort property that we have Newly acquired.
  • The tiny house was perfect and the dogs even enjoyed themselves! The tips about the train being outside, helped us plan mindfully and not be surprised when we got there. The hosts were awesome!

    Erica (And James)2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our time so much at your tiny house. It was nice to have the space to ourselves, and cozy in to the little space. I loved how the houses were decorated! The creativity was outstanding, an awesome little weekend getaway!

    Alexandra2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The view was phenomenal, the interior oh so beautiful, and so much to do in the area! We went thrifting and hiking, ate at J&J’s BBQ which was the best I have ever had! One suggestion is to have coffee pods/toilet paper over stocked for a couple nights to be sure nothing runs out. Overall 5/5, we even made breakfast there our last morning of our stay and were able to watch Netflix or Hulu on the TV. We will definitely be back! Mike and denay are wonderful people and even welcomed our 5 month old pup as well!

    Miranda2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Bohemian Rhapsody. The check in with Mike was very smooth and location was great. The place is even better in person!

    Mike2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay! There was SO much to do in the area. Mike was a great communicator! He answered questions so quickly and was very friendly!

    Louisa2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had such an amazing weekend staying in the Bohemian Rhapsody! We got a great recommendation from Mike to try out JJ’s BBQ and it did not disappoint. Villa Belezza had some great wines and a delicious dinner. We are already excited to plan out next stay in one of the tiny homes! Thanks for a great weekend!

    Jacy2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Bohemian Rhapsody Tiny house was a wonderful place to stay. The Mike was very welcoming and really excited when he called me and I told him I was getting married. He even left us a little congratulations when we got there. It was easy to find and getting in was effortless. The towns of Lake City and Wabasha are adorable and everyone we talked to were genuine and kind. Even with the train and unexpected constructions on the highway it was incredibly peaceful and the views of the Mississippi are to die for. Thank you for a great start to our marriage.

    Ian2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • You can’t beat this place. It’s a hipsters tiny home paradise in the best way. The view is spectacular and it’s the ultimate place to unplug and completely relax. Highly recommend staying in the cute urban tiny home :)

  • This was a great place for a family vacation, it could easily accommodate many guests. It had a great indoor patio room that was very inviting. Great view of the lake, very peaceful, equipped with games to enjoy. Kitchen was well stocked with all of the essentials. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating. Would recommend this place to all.

  • Had a wonderful stay at Lake Port. It is a beautiful lakefront property with very thoughtful finishing touches. The house is immaculately clean. It is clear the owners put a significant amount of work towards making their guests comfortable. The house is very close to wineries and restaurants. The perfect location to get away!

  • Wonderful location and spaces in the house, especially the large porch!

    Carol2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This little lake house is a perfect getaway spot! We had 8 guests and we all very comfortable with the sleeping arrangements and the abundant spots where we could all gather for socializing without feeling cramped. Just a warning: the trains are loud and the lake is difficult to access! Overall, the amenities and local suggestions were very top notch and the hosts were very communicative when we had a questions late at night.

    Amyrose2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We hosted our family reunion at Lake Port. The property is well laid out for a family gathering. Plenty of open space inside, plus the garage was clean enough we enjoyed socializing in there when rain started. The yard is nicely kept, and large enough for games and a bonfire. The nearby rail line is noisy. We were all fine with it. However, it’s something to consider if you value silence. We enjoyed views of Lake Pepin, paddle boats and a pair of bald eagles perched nearby. Lake Port was terrific and we hope to return next year.

    Nick2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house was a perfect base camp for our family to explore the Mississippi River and towns in the Lake Pepin area. The screen porch has a bird’s eye view of the river, including a Bald Eagle perch directly in front. Sailboats, powerboats, towboats and barges pass by on the lake—even the trains go by down below the yard. It was nice to have the garage and the extra room and bathroom in the basement. We made “some-mores” in the fire pit. Swimming was great at the Stockholm City Park beach and at the Pepin beach. The Marina in Pepin has a great boat launch and very helpful personnel. Last, but hardly not least, our host Danni responded immediately to all our questions/requests and helped make our trip all the more enjoyable. Thank you!

  • Don’t let the photos fool ya. This spot is amazing, stylish and located right on top of the bluff. From the living room you get to oversee the mighty Mississippi. The view is what I’ll miss the most. The bedrooms were all super clean and neat. I love the master bedroom the most. The kitchen was big enough for me too cook up for my group of 16. There’s a gas grill you can use outside. The space was big enough for me to entertain my friends for my birthday party. There’s also plenty to do. We spent our day at the Mississippi swimming. The den on top of the garage is also great. Has a little group patio with another amazing view. Finally thanks to Doug, he was amazing and responded super quick. It’s a beautiful home. Make sure you reserve. I’ll be hoping to come Back in the winter

  • Douglas's place was an awesome getaway from the cities, and he was super responsive whenever we had issues, and the place was spotless when we came in. No distinguishable odor like the other reviews said.

    Kati2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is pretty awesome. I feel like the pictures don't quite do it justice. There are wide open spaces for larger groups to hang out in both upstairs and downstairs. The views from the bluff are amazing! At least 6 bedrooms, some with multiple beds each, are available. Douglas responds quickly and seemed very organized to me about the entire process. He seemed very comfortable with my large group size, about 20-25, being in his house for a going-away party I was having. This place exceeded my expectations. I imagine it would be even better staying here during the summer months. It is only maybe a 5 minute drive from Wabasha.

  • Fantastic hostess. Very responsive to all questions and messages. We didn't hang out in the microbrewery pub (we were out running around a lot), but I've heard great things about it. The breakfasts were 100% top notch. I had high expectations and wasn't disappointed.

  • We had great time saying at Turning Waters! The house is charming and very clean. The homemade breakfasts every morning are amazing, and the home brewed beers were also delicious. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful in finding where to go and what to eat. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our first bed and breakfast experience!

    Emily2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Brenda at her bed & breakfast! The house is beautiful, bright and comfortable. The wrap-around porch with comfy chairs is great for relaxing (with a beer, brewed onsite). Our room was very tranquil and comfortable. Brenda made sure the house was a good sleeping temperature at night, but there was also a fan and a heater in our room, if we needed either. The breakfast was delicious! Brenda made croissant French toast stuffed with cream cheese and fruit and gluten-free/dairy-free rhubarb (strawberry?) white chocolate chip muffins. We also had local sausage patties with maple syrup and fruit and yogurt parfaits (with strawberries from the garden). It’s a great area to stay, convenient to many other river towns, in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. We ate dinner at Nosh in Lake City (which will be moving to Winona soon) the first night. We went to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha the next morning, then crossed over to Wisconsin and took 35 north through Pepin (where we stopped at 404 coffee shop) and Stockholm (where we stopped at Stockholm Pies & General Store) before crossing back to Minnesota at Red Wing (where we stopped at Tree Strings guitar shop). We will definitely be visiting Brenda at Turning Waters Bed & Breakfast again!

  • We love the Lake Pepin house - this was our second stay. The house is well stocked with anything you could possibly need. The view is gorgeous and there are so many fun things to do nearby. The space is super comfortable and really great for multiple families.

  • This place is amazing, this time was particularly amazing because when we got stuck going up the hill in the snow and called someone for help they came with in 10 minutes and helped us get up the hill. They saved out quiet weekend in the snow and it could not have been more lovely. The space as always is beautiful and wonderful. We cooked two great big meals and they had everything we needed. We keep coming back because it feels so comfortable and welcoming every time. Thank you!

  • We love this place in any season, it’s why we keep coming back again and again. This house is so comfortable, so many pillows and blankets and thoughtful touches through out the place. Definitely recommend this place again and again.

  • We were up in Pepin for a family wedding and 6 of us stayed in the home very comfortably. We really enjoyed this house. From the screened in porch to the fire pit, this place demands relaxation. The house is spacious and we appreciated how clean and freshly decorated everything was. Make sure you are there for the spectacular sunsets!

  • The Lake Pepin House is peaceful and well equipped. We enjoyed the winery nearby and local hikes in the area. The house has plenty of toys stashed away for young kids, a plus!
