  • This was our second stay at Mark’s house, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. It is a beautiful house, both chic and cosy! It is also perfectly located for walks along the SW coastal path and for the pubs and restaurants of Porthleven.

  • Mark was a fantastic host, I hope we can return to Porthleven one day! Would 100% recommend. The cottage was stylish, cosy and in a great location. Enjoy!

  • A great little place to stay in a great little area..very friendly locals..great amenities inside with lovely little touches... it even had fresh flowers and a bottle of wine on the side. Would definitely recommend this place to others and would definitely return again.

  • The Old Stores is a gem ! Beautifully clean, decorated with lovely artwork, ornaments etc. a well equipped kitchen and lovely bedding and towels! The welcome pack was hugely appreciated and any questions we had were swiftly answered by Mark. We were warm and cosy by the fire watching the sea pound the pier from the living room, truly spectacular.

  • Had a lovely time staying in Porthleven. While we didn’t actually spend a huge amount of time in the house due to our hunger to explore, it was a great place to stay! Mark provided us with plenty of information in regards to the surrounding area and check-in was a breeze Will definitely look to book this place on our next visit

    Steven2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Stores is a delight to stay in. Quirky, original, beautifully furnished with a great sea view from the upstairs living room and downstairs kitchen. Warm in winter, with comfortable bedrooms and a lovely bathroom. The beach is two minutes away and Porthleven has an excellent and varied range of eating options in walking distance as well as a good supermarket and fishmongers. If you get the weather to eat outside we liked The Mussel Shoal which has opened on the harbour front. Mark recommended some brilliant local walks. The Old Stores is a good choice for enjoying this beautiful part of Cornwall.

    David2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at the Old Stores in mid-November and the cottage was everything we expected and more. Mark provided loads of useful information and we were greeted by a charming welcome pack. Porthleven is a wonderful location and perfect base to explore Cornwall. Would thoroughly recommend on all fronts.

Our cottage is a cosy converted blacksmith's workshop in the ancient Cornish town of Marazion - home to St Michael's Mount & in Poldark country! One of the oldest properties in Marazion, the cottage is just off the main street and the SW coast path.
The Old Forge is a cosy converted granite blacksmith's forge in the beautiful Cornish seaside town of Marazion, with exposed stone walls, real wood flooring and a cast iron log burner (perfect for snuggling up in front of!) as well as a range of beautiful original features including the old blacksmith's shop front, deep window seats in the thick granite walls and even a lintel made from a reclaimed ship! It has a new, fully equipped and beautiful country kitchen with wooden worktops, an electric range cooker, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer and Smeg fridge-freezer, and a bathroom with a cast iron roll top bath with electric shower over. There is a farmhouse dining table and 4 chairs in the living room. The property has two bedrooms - a double and twin. The double room features an old exposed chimney breast and velux windows - perfect for stargazing on a warm summer evening. The twin room has a beautiful exposed granite wall and original wooden beam. Marazion is on the South West coast path with beautiful beaches (including a dog-friendly year-round beach) great for walking and bathing, and famous for windsurfing and kitesurfing. A 5 minute walk through the old main street of Marazion, the town centre features several fantastic pubs and restaurants, including the exceptional Ben's Cornish Kitchen (winner of the Cornwall Life Food & Drink Award 2014), the Godolphin Arms and a number of cosy pubs including The King's Arms (highly recommended for a Sunday roast), The Cutty Sark and The Fire Engine Inn. We are very happy to welcome guests with a well-behaved dog (or two!) however please bear in mind that the property does not have a garden (although there are several patches of grass and a playing field within a 30 second walk of the front door). We can also recommend some fabulous walks - all tried and tested by our labrador, Moo. We run an eco-conscious cottage so, as far as possible, everything provided in the cottage (where applicable) will be local, organic, environmentally-friendly and/or Fair Trade. We really love sharing our little cottage with other people and are very grateful for having such lovely guests who take good care of it during their stay. If anything does get damaged or broken during your stay please do let us know ASAP - we really don't mind (these things happen!) however we often have guests checking in the same day you check out and knowing in advance means that we can make sure items are fixed or replaced before our next guests arrive. Please note: There is no allocated parking provided however you will be able to park very close to the house on one of the adjoining, unrestricted roads. We are very close to the sea here so in the spring and summer it's not uncommon for the seagulls to start their morning chorus quite early! We've tried asking them to wake up a bit later however this doesn't appear to have worked as yet . . .

A cosy but bright log cabin , in a sylvanian setting, just yards from a public bridleway alongside the River Cober. **Please Note - the price per night is for the first guest only. Additional guests are charged at a marginal extra cost ( shown in "Pricing" > "Extra charges " on the Airbnb site) Thank you :) ** ** NEW OCTOBER 2018 - NEW 4'6" double bed ** Sleeps 4 comfortably (one 4' 6" double bed, 1 single bed in a bedroom, 1 single bed in a curtained area) ...read more in details
"The cabin" is a log cabin, in an idyllic rural location, just a few yards from a small river, with stepping stones to a tree-lined public bridleway. It is very close to my own dwelling, but not intrusive, either way. It accommodates a maximum of 4 people. A cosy, but airy log cabin with one separate bedroom (1 single bed with another underneath it, to pull out if needed....but NB, this leaves no floor space ) a main room, open to the apex, with a 4' 6" double bed, a curtained area, offset to one side , with a single bed. The shower and toilet room is in an adjacent building (4 steps away) together with a separate kitchen/ dining room. Included in the price is electricity, water, linen, towels ( please bring your own beach towels) , basic kitchen cleaning equipment, tea, coffee, condiments and of course toilet tissue. Also soap and shampoo . There is a hair dryer in the cabin and a cooling fan can be provided if needed ( for those few tropical days/ nights...) There is access to a small paved garden area at the rear of the cabin, with chairs and a patio table This is quite private and just for your use. There is a small washing line , solely for your use, right outside of the cabin. There is access to a washing machine and tumble dryer (for a small extra charge via an honesty box) Also there is access to a small freezer. Our front garden is solely for our own family use. I will happily help you with any questions or recommendations , but I am equally happy to completely respect your total privacy. Our neighbourhood is beautiful, peaceful and calm, with just a few passing dog walkers and horse riders throughout the day, along the bridleway. It is a hamlet of about 80 dwellings, with a small library, converted from a telephone box! I know if you choose to holiday here, you will be keen to maintain the peace and tranquility. There is parking just for you (1 space) close to the cabin. There are no buses in Lowertown, but there are buses from Helston town, to visit The Lizard Peninsular, Truro, Falmouth, Penzance and Lands End areas. There are train stations in Falmouth, Penzance, Camborne, Redruth and Truro, to take you further "up the line" Included in the price is electricity, water, linen, towels ( please bring your own beach towels) , basic kitchen cleaning equipment, tea, coffee, milk, condiments and of course toilet tissue. There is a hair dryer in the cabin and a cooling fan can be provided if needed ( for those few tropical days/ nights...) there is a travel iron and ironing board in the kitchen area. There is a mini oven with two hob plates, in the kitchen. ( NOT A MICROWAVE) Please note the approximate internal area of the log cabin ( so the sleeping area ) is 20 square metres .
I love the tranquility of the neighbourhood. You can just about hear the river winding through the woods, the buzzards calling to each other , the green woodpecker calling........very little else.
  • Arrived during what must be considered a downpour!! river's swelling, wind blowing a hoot to be greeted by Bev whom i must say is a lovely lady. She showed us to the cabin and went through all amenities etc, even left us a welcome bottle of prosecco 👍(which we forgot to drink👎) Not your usual type of host that gets in your way but left us to it, knowing that if we required anything then all we had to do was ask. The cabin was sparkly clean and warm. Our kids loved the fact that they had there own space each, within a space! everything was perfect and a big up for Bev xxx

    Danny2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent two lovely nights in Bevs beautiful log cabin. It was even better than we could have imagined. The cabin itself was gorgeous, very spacious and decorated lovely. The kitchen and bathroom spaces were also great. There was plenty of stuff provided to use and the amenities were wonderful. Bev was an exceptional host. She was incredibly helpful and polite. The little touches were wonderful, such as providing me with oat milk instead of cow milk. And the little chalk board welcoming us. It was in a lovely location, with some great walks just a matter of minutes away. We would definitely stay here again when we come back down to visit our family in helston.

    Ashleign2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Bev’s. The personal touches were lovely and everything was just as described. Bev was a wonderful host and the local area is stunning.

  • Thank you to Bev for hosting me and my sister for 2 nights in September. We arrived very late but from the great chekin instructions it was super easy to find. The cabin is so cute and exactly what we needed after a 7 hour drive! Kitchen and bathroom are literally steps away and are both better than you can imagine for the space. Really enjoyed our stay and will certainly return. Xx

    Samantha2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Bev's log cabin, it is a minute away from the stepping stones on the river Cober leading to beautiful walks. The cabin is luxurious, cosy, clean, warm and had all we needed. The kitchen and shower room are very close by. Looking forward very much to going back.

    Caroline2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Bev’s cabin is a wonderful little home from home, it was a perfect base for our exploration in Cornwall. The facilities were excellent and the cabin was cosy without being too small. Bev was lovely and I hope she enjoyed the hen do! My only regret was that we couldn’t stay for longer.

    Kemlo2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Bevs so i went with high expectations knowing how good the first stay had been; I was not disappointed! Bevs cabin continues to be a little hideaway within easy reach of lots of exciting places. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches which make the stay that extra special.

    Grace2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bev is a fantastic, helpful host. The cabin is good for four people, great for three and absolutely superb for just the two of us as we each had a “dressing room”. I am notoriously untidy so my wife loved having a room for me to be able to leave things around without them being in public view. I digress. The cabin is in the perfect location for touring western Cornwall from Newquay at one end and Lands End (pun) at the other. You are not even far from the most southerly point (the Lizard). We visited all these and more. P.S. Perranporth was our personal favourite but Porthleven is a lovely coastal/beachy village only a couple of miles away. People who have read my previous reviews (not on AirBnB as this was our first time) will know I am fixated by bathrooms and a hatred of fixed head showers. Bev’s is absolutely fine, with the ability of using the shower as a hand held or not. Hot water is virtually instantaneously and powerful. In fact there is no negative for me as far as the bathroom is concerned. (That must be a first!). You can use the attached kitchen to cook if you like, but we used it more of as a food store for evening treats, there are LOADS of good places to eat within a mile or so of the cabin. Fridge for my hams and cheeses, a freezer for my ice-cream, what more can a man want? (LIDL is just around the corner, you can even walk there over the stepping stones) I won't recommend any food outlets as your tastes will surely be different from ours EXCEPT make sure you go for the Sunday Lunch carvery at the Wheal Dream Golf Club restaurant about 1/2 a mile up the (Redruth) road. We did (twice!). Be careful there are a lot of very narrow, winding, one-car width roads all over Cornwall, that your navigation system will absolutely love to send you down, so prepare to drive in a relaxed manner and give way (after all – you are on holiday). Negatives – I just don’t have any. Think ….. I probably would not book this accommodation in winter, purely because of the location. I personally couldn’t face driving the roads. See how I am struggling.

  • Feeling sad to leave this little place that I've adopted as my home for the last few weeks, and it really does feel like home. I owe Judy and her family a massive thankyou for their kindness and hospitality but also for this place where I was able to come to get my Dissertation finished. I truly couldn't have done it without the peace of The Stables. The place has everything you would need. The kitchen has everything allowing me to cook every day, the bed is super super comfortable, great hot shower. Even though it's not massive, it functions as a bedroom, kitchen, lounge (TV and sofa), dining room and more. The location is stunning, it sits on what used to be a working farm amongst a couple of othe places Judy rents and with Judy's beautiful farm house nearby. It has been perfectly quite and private when I have needed it and perfectly friendly when I've needed something or fancied a chat. The surrounding coast line has some very beautiful beaches and towns, Porthlevan which is 5 mins in the car is a really stunning harbour town on the hill with views of the lizard and really good food, fish, cafe's etc. On that note I would say, and this is likely to be true for many places in cornwall, that this would not have been as much fun without the car. It probebrly wouldn't be very easy. Truly that's about the most negative thing I can think to say about this place. Oh and that the place needs a cheese grater:)!! Thanks again to Judy and her family. I will be back, I'm almost certain. Alistair

    Alistair2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended, lovely place, with wonderful views. Sparkling clean, with everything what you need.

    Joanna2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, sparking cleaning with everything you would need for a house from home! Also so close to everything you need shops etc. Would definitely go back again!!

A gate leads into a woodland area with access to a public footpath running alongside the River Hayle and beautiful walks in unspoilt countryside. Outside seating and dining areas enable you to enjoy life alfresco. We are situated approx. 10 minutes drive from both north and south coasts with their glorious beaches.
  • This was our second stay at river cottage and it didn’t disappoint. It’s such a comfortable, relaxing and tranquil place to be, with lovely walks, shops and places to eat nearby. Only a few minutes drive to Hayle, St Ives and Penzance and the beautiful west Cornish coast. We took our labrador again and he enjoyed the enclosed garden plus running around on the beaches near Hayle. Adrian and Lucy were so welcoming and loved dogs too - which was a bonus! We can’t wait to go back!

  • Delightful! Hosts were wonderful, the location is perfect and the cottage was fantastic. Would definitely recommend - great base for exploring both coasts

  • River Cottage is wonderful. It is well equipped, with everything that you could possibly need. But it is the location that is exceptional. It is so quiet. Our best memory will be standing in the back garden and looking at the night sky with no light pollution and only the sound of the nearby river. It is the perfect getaway. Lucy and Adrian are excellent hosts. They gave us helpful suggestions for places to visit. Little personal touches enhanced the experience . River Cottage is within easy reach of St Ives and Penzance and many other places of interest. We hope to return soon as this location is so very special.

  • A lovely space to relax and unwind. We happened to be staying during some storms which gave us a good excuse to stay in an enjoy the fire and have a few games of scrabble with some wine in hand. The cottage has everything we needed and lots of personal touches. Lucy and Adrian were lovely and quick to respond, you can see they have put a lot of care and consideration into the cottage. Would definitely return in the future and have already recommended to friends.

  • We spent 5 nights at River Cottage and it was pure bliss. This was our first trip to Cornwall and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. River Cottage is stunning! The pictures don’t do it justice, it really exceeded our expectations. It is in a secluded location so incredibly peaceful but only 20 minutes into St Ives so still really close by. You also have large supermarkets within 10 minutes so really convenient to get things if you are planning on having nights in. Behind the cottage is a beautiful river where you can go for a really nice walk which was lovely. We originally planned to go out for dinner in the evenings but the cottage was so nice we spent every evening in cosied up by the log burner. The house is also covered in pretty fairy lights including in the bush outside the living room window so it really couldn’t be more romantic. Lucy and Adrian were amazing hosts. They were there the minute we got out the car to greet us and help with bags down to the cottage and gave us a tour of the house. There is also a helpful book inside with instructions for everything including how to work the log burger. We were gutted to leave and will be returning as much as possible!

  • The pictures are incredible but it is even better in real life. Can not recommend this place and Adrian and Lucy enough. Attention to detail is second to none, beautiful setting, beautiful cottage, beautiful interior! Everything was superb! We didn’t want to leave! This is a MUST stay!

    Alec2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian and Lucy were brilliant hosts. The cottage is beautiful set in the nicest of surroundings that I can imagine are beautiful no matter what time of year you go. It’s so quiet and peaceful at the cottage with a lovely stream and garden. Lots of fun things to do near by as well. Highly recommend Thank you

    Sam2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian was a great host, making sure that everything was perfect ready for our stay and always being available if we had any questions. The house was beautiful, cosy and warm and the surrounding garden and public footpaths were great for the dog. The house was in the the perfect location, far enough away to feel truly relaxing but a short car ride to all the main towns and beaches and a short walk to the local village! I would definitely recommended as a place to stay if you want to get away from it all but also as a great base for exploring Cornwall. Would definitely stay again!

  • Erica's place is ideally situated for beautiful walks on the coastal paths and for visiting the long sandy surfing beach which is only a few minutes walk away. It is an ideal retreat with all the basics that you need. It has a comfy bed, a well equipped bathroom and a high standard of cleanliness. You can enjoy breakfast (provided) or sit and write with a sea view from the main room. It is also well placed to visit many tourist sites in the south west of Cornwall. Erica is very helpful whilst at the same time not at all intrusive.

  • Such a special place and special person. It’s much much more than you can expect with an absolutely stunning view of the sea! Very Tasteful decor, comfortable bed giving me sound sleep every night and spotless with all the amenities you could ask for. Located right next to the beach which was ideal for my morning runs. Even the bus stop to get you to nearby towns is walkable which is convenient for people like me who don’t have a car. And finally, Erica is a wonderful host who gave me my space, yet was there whenever I needed anything at all. This has probably been my most comfortable stay away from home. I left peaceful, rejuvenated and happy and can’t wait to be back :)

    Sunil2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation, location and comfort surpassed all expectations. Erica couldn’t have been more helpful and discreetly attentive whilst respecting privacy. The most relaxing, peaceful and beautiful place to ‘re-charge’ as well as being perfect for stopping off along the coast path. Highly recommended, thank you Erica.

  • A very nice and quiet place with beautiful views right from the bed. A rich choice of breakfast cereals and tea and coffee is a great plus. Spacious and very clean. Highly recommended.

  • I would highly recommend Erica's place. The location was superb for seeing the delights of SW Cornwall and the short stroll to Praa Sands beach was just perfect. The room was clean and spacious and of course, the view is beautiful. Erica was very helpful in recommending places to eat and visit, and her property has a very relaxing, healing feel about it. I was travelling alone and felt very comfortable and welcomed.

Porthleven has an impressive harbour, construction commenced during Napoleonic times and some sources state that it was built with the aid of French prisoners of war. Small fishing boats land their daily catch, much of which is sold in Porthleven's cafes and restaurants and the award winning Quayside fishmongers. The harbour was completed in 1825 and there are a wealth of traditional Cornish pubs and restaurants. The beach under Loe Bar Rd is a glorious expanse of golden sand which can provide stunning surf. On the Helford River sits Frenchman's Creek where Daphne du Maurier spent her honeymoon dreaming of the Cornish villages that set the scene for her novels.Helston was originally a thriving port until the river silted up over the years; where the river joins the sea is now Cornwall's largest freshwater lake. Helston is a busy market town with plenty of Victorian and Georgian architecture. The Monument is an impressive building at the end of Coinaghall Street which was built in 1834 in memory of Humphry Millet Grylls, whose actions kept open the local tin mine and saved 1200 jobs. Possibly one of the country's oldest privately owned brewery's can also be found in Coinaghall Street; The Blue Anchor was originally used as a rest house for monks and became a tavern in the 15th century. It now makes a strong local brew called Spingo. Helston is probably best known for the 'furry' or floral dance which is held every May. Flora Day kicks off with the Hal-an-Tow where St George and St Michael slay the dragon and the devil, cheered on by the locals dressed in Elizabethan costumes. The main dancing starts at midday with participants dressed in ball gowns and top hats and tails. • We had the most wonderful week at Tom and Kath’s barn - so good we almost want to keep it to ourselves! The barn is beautifully appointed with everything you need for a relaxing week. Our hosts even left several local treats for us to enjoy upon arrival which made us feel incredibly welcome. The barn is situated in a stunning location - I never got tired of waking up to the incredible view of the coastline every day. Overall, we can’t recommend Trequean Barn enough, and we are already making plans to return next year.

Also a lovely lounge, dining kitchen area for relaxing in the evening. Thank you Kim for a great place at a very reasonable price, we loved it!

  • This property is brand new and very well fitted out with lots of high quality equipment and touches. Showers and beds were all very good, something that makes a big difference when you are on holiday. Even an outside hot shower for washing our dog, cleaning boots and wetsuits off. Great hosts, always there to answer questions or give advice on the area when needed, nothing was too much trouble. The location is quiet and an easy drive to both the north or south coast with lots to visit. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again if returning to this area.

Spacious and light holiday home on the Cornish coast
This is a stunning coastal location and great for all types of get-away holidays.
  • Fantastic stay. The house was very clean and cosy. We were there in the middle of the storm and it was fab to watch and listen to the crashing waves with the cosy log burner. We would love to return in warm weather so we can chill in the lovely garden.

  • A fantastic location for relaxing! There are loads of great areas to explore nearby, with lovely coastal walks and a beach on the doorstep. Perfect for families

  • Oh my Gawd, this place is amazing - don't book it when I want to stay there again, I'd hate to miss out because it is booked out. Seriously, best choice I made was booking this listing. I had never been to this part of the world, and I really felt the need to explore, and this is the perfect spot to do so, you are so close to St Ives, Sennen Beach, Lands End, Lizard, Porthleven, St Mount Michel and, the creme de la creme, you are right on Praa Sands beach, amazing. The sound of the waves breaking on the beach below was heaven at night time, love the sound of waves. Praa sands is a small beach community, so there is not much around, which is great. But, Penzance is not even a 15 min drive, where you have 3 big supermarkets, Morrison, Tesco & Sainsbury, so stock up there, and then you don't need to leave the house again for the rest of your stay, as it has the best kitchen, so big and so practical. I cooked nearly every night, but then if you don't want to cook for a night, try the mussels in thai coconut at the Kato Kai restaurant in Porthleven - amazing. I stayed there in winter, so it really was one of those sleepy little beach village, loved it, and sitting in the reading room at night in front of the slow combustion fire place was so relaxing. I brought two books to read, but instead ended up staring out at the clouds rolling past over the ocean and the sun setting right out front, did not even turn on the tv, instead I would go for walks along the beach or cliff edge I can imagine in summer it would be a much busier beach, but where the house is located, you still will have lots of privacy with easy access to the beach. I'll be back :-)

  • This is the second time we have stayed at Sea Home. The weather was stormy and it was just perfect. The house is so well situated and hearing the waves crash while falling asleep is always the highlight. Thank you so much Martin and can’t wait to return once more

    Josh2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location in front on the sea. Walks just near the house. Very comfortable. Nice fire in winter. I hope we ll come back...

The house is stunning, so spacious and with brilliant facilities. The garden area is particularly nice with lots of outdoor seating. • Both me and my fiancée had a great stay here for a get away before our wedding A good base to explore not only marazion but also all the towns and beaches nearby, would definitely recommend.

  • Castle View is a wonderful base for exploring Marazion and Penzance as well as the glorious St Michael's Mount. Comfortable, clean and welcoming, the property has a lovely feel to it that helps you relax and unwind. The private parking bay was especially welcome as parking is limited in the town. There are lovely pubs and restaurants all within walking distance (if you don't mind a little walk up the hill on your way back) and the local food and entertainment is excellent. Marita is a fabulous host and very helpful and friendly, providing access to her kitchen for a lovely continental breakfast each morning. Your own bathroom next door is large, has everything you need and is spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water. The bedroom has a very comfy double bed, plenty of storage space, tea and coffee facilities and a sliding double door opening onto a large patio with seating. Here you can sit and enjoy amazing views of St Michael's Mount and some fabulous sunsets and sunrises. Definitely recommended and somewhere I will be visiting again very soon.

  • The problem with being at Marita's home is that it is so wonderful and nurturing to be there i am already trying to move my schedule for next year so i can come back. She has a wonderful system to prepare us to arrive. The room and private bath and clean and bright. The view is breathtaking for me. What she offers for breakfast is thoughtful to our needs. She allows us privacy and also great conversations. The location is easily accessible to the village and the castle. Clearly highly recommended

  • Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful home, the location is perfect for a trip to the south coast of Cornwall; easy drive into Penzance (12 mins) and Marazion itself is lovely, with St Michael’s Mount on your doorstep. The view from the bedroom is amazing and Marita is very welcoming.

  • I stayed at Marita's place during a weekend getaway to Penzance. It's really nice - clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The location is ideal with beautiful views out to St. Michael's Mount from your very own bedroom.

Local bars do good food and have wonderful views at a mix of prices. There lovely sea and country views from the deck and garden The room has a double bed with storage in wardrobes and drawers. You can prepare light meals and refrigerate them in the kitchen.
The house is in a quiet location. There is good street parking and some off street parking may be available. Your bedroom has just been decorated and is a lovely quiet relaxing space. Beautiful cliff top and beach walks are easily reached via the South West coat path.
Cornwall is beautiful in all weathers. St Ives, Penzance, Lands End, the Lizard, Truro and Famlouth are with on easy reach. The Eden project is about and hours drive (maybe more during peak times). If it is a beautiful beach you want Praa sands is a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive. There are so many other beaches close by you could go a different one each day for weeks and still have more to explore. The south-west coast path is also a 10 minute walk. There are various options for eating and drinking close by.
  • Very clean and welcoming place. In Praa Sands, so it's a great middle ground for exploring both the Porthcurno/St. Ives side and the Lizard/Falmouth side. Lovely!

  • We spent a lovely few days at Steves. He made us feel very welcome and his home was a clean and comfortable home from home with the added bonus of its sea side location.

    Dave2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We booked two nights at Steve’s, it was great for us! Steve gave us the keys to the house as he would be away. A wonderful, homely holiday house, with everything you need. Even if he was there, you still have use of the kitchen, fridge etc. Steve is very accommodating! We would definitely recommend this property, you have your own bathroom as well. Great area, close to The Lizard, as well as the west coast. We bought take-away at The Dynasty just down the road, great value there too.

    Debbie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was a great host, really went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. The place itself is simple but really good value, with all neccesary amenities. And with lovely views of the sea! Thanks Steve!

  • I had a lovely stay at Alice and Gregg’s cottage! The space itself was super cute, clean, and equipped with everything you need for a stay. Furthermore, Alice and Gregg were very accommodating. I was without a car in Breage and they were kind enough to bring me extra wood and coal to keep the fire going. Much appreciated! With extra touches like homemade lemon biscuits, milk, coffee, and tea, the trip was made even better. I highly recommend staying here and can voice that it’s easy to travel to neighboring villages with Cornwall’s bus system!

    Callie2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Alice’s place! It is super cosy with everything you need for a perfect stay and the basket of firewood is a really nice touch. It’s also in a great location to explore Cornwall. We would highly recommend Alice’s place to everyone.

Local pub within walking distance was great on Friday night, good atmosphere and so nice to not have to drive! Check-in and communications all really easy. Thank you to Alice and Gregg for having us. We will definitely be back!!

  • We had a lovely stay. The bungalow was brilliant space which was spotless and beautifully presented. Great for getting around Cornwall and it's many beaches without having to travel too far. We arrived to a wonderful homemade chocolate cake which was very tasty and just the treat we needed after a day on the beach. Sarah was very friendly and helpful in giving us tips for the local area. We look forward to staying again later this year.

  • Lovely bungalow perfectly situated to explore the coast lands and discover some magical isolated bays as well as a great base for longer trips. Sarah is very welcoming and the bungalow is well.apoointed with everything you could hope for. We thoroughly enjoyed cake with a fire in the cold weather and had an amazing time!

  • Chi Lowen is a fantastic bungalow, which is exactly as shown in the photographs provided. Stylish, Cornish-themed decor, immaculately presented and perfectly located to explore areas, such as Helston, Hayle, Marazion etc. Sarah & Patrick were there to greet us on arrival, as well as the delicious chocolate cake mentioned in numerous reviews. Very attentive hosts, we will definitely look to stay there again in the future. Cannot rate highly enough. Thanks again, and hope to see you soon. Dave & Michaela

  • What can we say, we use Airbnb regularly and it’s so lovely to be welcomed by such a kind owner. After a nice chat and tucking into the chocolate cake that Sara made for us, we settled in and were happy to see that everything was as advertised. Everything in this place is modern and super clean. As we were staying in February, we took advantage of the fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and all sheets were clean and smelled lovely. We had our little Jack Russel with us and she had a blast. Very convenient for beach trips and nice and quite area. Would For sure come again! Thank you Sara!! Jack, Debs and Missy

    Debora2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What an amazing place to stay. Can’t rate this place highly enough. Do not hesitate to book, it’s everything you need, & more! This bungalow was spotlessly clean, well equipped, very comfortable & warm. Lovely welcome from the friendly hosts, an incredible chocolate cake waiting for us & treats for the dog too! Private space outside front & back, which due to the weather we unfortunately didn’t use, & off road parking right outside in the drive. Well situated to explore west Cornwall, but in a very quiet area. Lovely Chinese takeaway a few minutes down the road that had our order ready within 15 mins & very friendly staff. Lots of added touches, games, info & dvds. Loved our time spent here 😊

  • Definitely the best AirBnB we have ever stayed in. Superb host’s very friendly. The accommodation is immaculately clean and has everything we needed. • A really good location for access to local beaches and tourist attractions, but tucked nicely off the main road, so you get some peace and quiet. I visited in December while it was very wet and windy, not an ideal time to be staying in a static caravan, but we were still able to heat the space to a very comfortable temperature and maintain it well. Comfy beds, and pretty much everything you might need for your stay provided for you. Lovely hosts too.

The Cove is a 3 bedroom property just meters from the sands of Praa Sands beach. Praa Sands is a great spot, it's a laid back village on the South Coast of Cornwall. The beach is famous for it's golden sands and is well renowned among surfers for it's fast waves, it's one of our favourites when it's on. The village has a bar, cafe, shop and car parks. Nearby you have great places to visit like Porthleven and Marazion and beyond.
  • Fabulous place in fantastic location. Lots lovely touches in property, which was like home from home - only better! Can’t wait to return.

    Alyson2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Cove was absolutely lovely, even in the rainy offseason. Being right on the beach meant the surfers in our party could suit up and be catching waves within minutes, while the rest of us hiked the surrounding cliffs. And we could all make it back for a hearty home-cooked lunch prepared in the very well equipped kitchen. Sam, our host, was at hand to provide local surf tips, making this holiday even more perfect than we could have expected. There was even a highchair and travel cot provided for our one-year-old son, who had an absolute blast playing by the wall to wall windows, crawling on the beach, and hitching a ride on our backs while exploring the coastal paths nearby. We cannot wait to return.

  • We had such an amazing week in the cove, the location is beautiful even in stormy weather. We made great use of the log fire which was so cosy. We were very welcomed by the host. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. An idyllic get away

    Jilly2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a superb experience, exactly how described and more. The communication was excellent, good information was supplied by the hosts, the property was perfect and the location was to die for (literally, be careful not to walk too close to the sea on a stormy day and get taken out by a freak wave). This is a beautifully placed property, warm and airtight, fitted out well with all the mod cons that you need for a holiday on the coast. The wood burner is top a top spec and really heats the lounging area well on a winter's evening. A cream tea and plenty of wood was supplied. Thanks very much, highly recommended, would love to return one day.

  • We stayed here for a few days in February. The apartment is nice, warm and cosy for our family of three. It had all we needed for a few nights stay. The apartment is in a great location in Cornwall with access to local beaches and tourist spots. The farm was certainly our favourite aspect. We loved meeting all the animals, really made our stay to get up close and meet them all. The host was super friendly and worked really hard. They deserve a full 5 stars for their hard work. Great stay. Recommended.

  • Kim is an angel! We didn't feel for one second that we were on somebody else's property - that's how homely her place is. Thank you for a quiet weekend away and for an unforgettable experience! Hope to go back again soon. xx

Located on the South-West Cornwall coast, it’s within 2 miles of beautiful beaches at Rinsey & Praa & minutes from Perranuthno, Kennegy, Prussia & Porthleven; known for its surfing, restaurants, pubs, harbour & as a fabulous winter storm-watching location. Located at the foot of Tregonning Hill, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, stunning coastal walks are on the doorstep. 1 small, well behaved, dog is very welcome!
The Rookery is a newly converted and self-contained beautiful, light, space attached to our home; a 200 year old Cornish Mining Cottage, perfect for couples. The Rookery is accessed via a private entrance and separated from the main house by a locked door. The Rookery consists of one living area with kitchen facilities and a bedroom with an en-suite shower room, toilet and sink. Myself and my wife, Sharon, live in the main cottage along with our teenage daughter, with occasional visits from our son when he returns home from university. We have two Miniature Schnauzers (Alfie & Bonnie) and a lovely old cat, called Charlie. Guests have their own parking on the Yard in front of The Rookery, which is accessed up the lane to the right of the house. There is space for one vehicle only and larger cars may need to reverse back down the short lane. Parking is limited so this means that if the option of guests using the yard to park isn't taken, we may park our car there. However, there is always space on the road directly outside Holly Cottage. The main living area has a kitchenette with room to create simple meals and essentials provided include; Kettle, Cafetiere, Toaster. Fridge Freezer, a small table-top oven (or microwave if your prefer), a twin portable electric stove, pots and pans & tableware. French doors look out to our back garden (which is private). There's a table for two, a large comfy sofa, a hanging area for clothes, an iron & Ironing board and a radio and blue tooth speaker. There's no washing machine but we are happy for you to use ours in an emergency. The Bedroom has a comfy double bed with luxury bedding and a vaulted ceiling with 2 small Velux windows to see the stars and sky from! There are plenty of electric sockets, 2 of them with integral USB chargers. We supply Towels and a Hairdryer. The Bathroom has a toilet, basin and lovely big, walk-in shower with a skylight above. Outside is a graveled and gated yard for parking with a bench for your personal use and a washing line for drying wet suits or swim-wear. In the yard is your private entrance to The Rookery with a key safe.
We are located on the West side of Tregonning hill, 2 miles from the coast. There are excellent hiking routes right on our doorstep. From the summit of Tregonning Hill you can see both the North and South coasts of West Cornwall and it makes a good viewpoint for Mounts Bay. On the top of the hill is the site of an ancient settlement. It's also famous as the place where china clay was discovered. Enjoy views of the sea as you drive up to The Rookery where the lanes are surrounded by Cornish hedges filled with wildflowers, Gorse , Cow Parsley In the springtime and Foxgloves and Red Campion in the early summer. On a clear night you will be treated to a sky filled with stars and you may even be able to hear the sound of our resident owl which roosts in the giant pine tree in the garden. in the Autumn the Rooks return home from the fields... It's just a 15 minute drive to one of our favourite places; St Michael's Mount and 10 minutes to the best pub in the world!!; The Ship Inn at Porthleven. In the winter there’s no better place to watch the wild seas and storms rolling in to the harbour from. We very much look forward to welcoming you to The Rookery, our home, and all that Cornwall has to offer. Pat & Sharon x

  • We had a wonderful time in the Rookery! The cosy house is lovely decorated, you can really feel the love for the details. It ist really clean and has a romantic, cosy Flair to it. The few days we were there we really felt at home. It is situated right in the countryside, really close to the beach and all the wonderful places that you can visit in Cornwall are just around the corner! Pat and Sharon where so friendly and helpful. We even got a little basket with food when we arrived, which we found really thoughtful and extra ordinary! I can highly recommend the Rookery to anyone who wants a little get away. We really didn't want to leave in the end and it was the best airbnb experience that I have ever had! Thank you so much for you hospitality and we will definetly be coming back some time :) x
