  • What can I say, I was greeted warmly by Sharon and Simon and made to feel at home right away, after being shown around their beautiful home, I was directed to my bedroom which was very clean, spacious and has everything needed, the personal touches like tea/coffee and even biscuits in the room were excellent, the view from the window across the fields to Englands “St George’s Park” were a delight. Simon and Sharon are more than happy to chat, or to leave you in peace, if that’s what you require, if you stay here, you’re going to love the house, surroundings and of course, Simon and Sharon. I can’t wait to go back the next time I am up this way.

Very good size neat bedrooms one with a comfy double and the other with a good single and a spare tucked underneath. Kitchen has all you need, even an induction hob! The apartment is on 3 floors within a grade II listed building. The kitchen is spacious with a log burner and all the nice appliances such as an American style fridge freezer, wine cooler, range cooker, coffee machine and a dishwasher. The glass-blown staircase leads up to the the snug and dressing room, which is cosy, off this is the bathroom with a large walk in shower and an infa-red sauna. The staircase in the snug leads up to the bedroom which is under a beautiful array of beams.
The Granville House Apartment over 3 floors is in a quirky, beautiful building and you can relax within the surroundings of the apartment and the village. The house has so much history as some parts are Tudor, Georgian, Victorian and present day. The house was once owned by Henry Jackson who founded the Tutbury glass works which was one of the first blown crystal glass factories started up. Tutbury became very known for its glass and Granville house was Jackson's townhouse. He commissioned his workers to create an amazing glass-blown staircase in the main house and the last owners of Georgian glass in Tutbury where commissioned by us to blow glass for the staircase in the apartment. The apartment will have all your needs met. Toiletries supplied, towels, board games, music, information folder. A welcome pack will be included in the price so you don't have to rush about shopping, this will include milk, sugar, tea, coffee and bread.
The village has a great feel to it, with a variety of independent shops along the Main Street, from cafes, antiques and an art gallery. Opposite is a grade I listed Tudor coaching inn and bar. Tutbury is very historic with a Norman church and a medieval castle that Mary Queen of Scots stayed at before being taken to the Tower of London. There are a variety of great walks on the doorstep such as along the river or over the fields to other villages (info in apartment)

  • We loved our stay at Ruth's place. We did quite a bit of cooking during our stay and found the kitchen brilliant. Plenty of space, and well equipped, including a really good double oven, big fridge/freezer, coffee machine, wine cooler - really everything we could have needed. Loved the cosy area on the middle floor, complete with piano!! And the sauna was a massive bonus (as well as a really good shower!) Bedroom was dark and quiet so perfect for light sleepers. Location was great for us (right on the high street) and parking outside the house was really easy. Ruth was the perfect host: easy to contact, super accomodating and very hospitable. Would absolutely recommend.

  • Brilliant accommodation and a lovely and cosy space to relax. We received great advice on the local area and really made the most of our short stay. Definitely would come back and would recommend!

  • Great three storey accommodation, full of character, excellent location on the high street, opposite the Dog and Partridge pub, with the castle only a short walk away. We received a warm welcome from Ruth and immediately felt at home in the property. The love hearts and rolos to help us celebrate our anniversary were a nice touch as was the welcome hamper with fresh bread and milk and choice of teas and coffee. All towels and bed linen were lovely and fresh and clean and we enjoyed the use of the sauna during our stay. Only potential negative for some people would be the stairs which are very steep - anyone with mobility difficulties may struggle (I use a stick but coped okay - just take it steady).

  • Lovely place located in a lovely setting, sauna was a nice touch too. Lots of places to visit will love to go back again

A good sized bathroom is also accessed from the small landing at the top of the stairs. With shower over bath and complimentary Neals Yard toiletries.
The Loft itself cannot be accessed by anybody else, please see below for the communal areas which are shared with other guests. Views from your bedroom are to the east over the fields of Staffordshire and our local church, and to the west over our glampsite of yurts, where you will also find the 8 seater hot tub, BBQ hut children’s play area, outdoor BBQ and bar and cooking cabin which are also available for you to use. • Fantastic place! Clean, stylish and some wonderful touches (toiletries, fresh eggs and bath robes!). The loft was beautiful and peaceful and made for a fantastic getaway. The hot tub is wonderful and a lovely touch of luxury. Would definately book again. Highly recommend!

  • Sarah’s place was excellent for location but also for her hospitality, communication and cleanliness of ‘the loft’. I only stayed 1 night and arrived late and left early but Sarah did all she could to make sure my stay was enjoyable with quick and positive communication. I’d have no hesitation staying again.

    Will2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic night stay at the Peakes! Sarah was so welcoming and helpful upon arrival. The place was lovely, stylish and comfortable with some really thoughtful touches (such as having breakfast provided and all the nice Neil's yard toilettries). The hot tub was also a great touch and made our stay super relaxing. Would definately recommend and come back!

    Kate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's Peakes retreat is by far the best Airbnb I've stayed in. There are so many thoughtful touches and much care put into ensuring you can just relax and not worry about the outside world. From cooking in the Finnish bbq hut to watching the stars in the hot tub, to the ultra comfortable bed in the loft, you are really are spoilt for choice about how to relax. Close enough to local amenities too should you wish to leave, but far enough out in the countryside to feel secluded from the rest of the world.

    Jordan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft was lovely and Sarah couldn't do enough for us. Going as far as calling a their friend who happens to be a chauffeur to take us to and from dinner at a local town. I can't recommended Peaks retreat enough!

Or alternatively the Boars Head Restaurant Station Road Sudbury will not disappoint and serves excellent food. Tutbury also has an amount of small Cafe's and shops to visit. A similar distance walk is to visit the Tutbury Weir across open fields, to view the area around Tutbury Castle and the River Dove. We would recommend highly The Courtyard @ No.12 in Tutbury High Street Which is located in the heart of Tutbury village around 1 mile away from The Cottage in the Garden. This Eating Venue is a short walk from the haunted Tutbury Castle. Nestled in a gorgeous courtyard through 12’s archway on the High Street. Sean and Frances have developed The Courtyard @ No.12 formerly known as Slice Coffee Lounge and have evolved the venue and the menus which now serves breakfast, lunch and small plates. They offer a wide selection of gins and tonics, wines from around the world and beer. Specialising in Champagne Breakfasts and would love you to come and celebrate your special occasion. Also served is afternoon tea along with great tasting coffee! Striving to serve food of the highest quality, sourcing the best ingredients possible, sausages and bacon are from a local butcher and eggs are from Anslow Farm so are always free-range and happy.

Welcome to my gorgeous Stapenhill Duplex apartment available to single discerning non smokers on short terms. Extremely clean, quiet and comfy for professional visitors to Burton on Trent. Please do NOT book on behalf of others as it makes a nonsense of my stated preferences. It forces hosts to leave reviews on Profiles of people who never actually stayed, & bypasses all required Security Protocols which as a single woman l prefer to be in place.
I live in the duplex, occupying the main double bedroom. The duplex is Non-smoking throughout. It's quiet to work on your laptop or simply relax in clean, warm surroundings. There's a single comfy bed in spare room, ideal for single Business guests. I'm LGBT & Vegan friendly. I have serious borderline OCD cleanliness issues, so guests MUST be non smoking with great personal hygiene for me to be happy to have them in my home. There are 4 pubs within walking distance and various fast food outlets, which l never use as I don't eat junk food, but you feel free so long as you keep it out of bedrooms. Food can be heated up in the small kitchen. Children, smokers & pets are definitely not allowed.
Heathlands Grange is a really attractive and quiet area with great transport links and access to nearby parks and the town centre. There are 4 pubs in walking distance. People in Burton are very approachable and happy to help with information on anything, and there's even a small Community Help Centre down the road on Short Street, along with a Laundrette, corner shop, cash point and off licence.

  • Great relaxing place to stay in the country. The bedroom is a good size with a double bed. Nicely furnished with a TV and good lighting. The bathroom is just outside the room but private. There are skylights and one window which has a pleasant outlook. The upstairs area is accessed by a spiral staircase. The breakfast was DIY cereal and toast served in the kitchen dining area with great views of the country. This area is stylishly decorated and quite spacious. I travelled by bicycle and I should say the house is situated on a hill top so quite a climb coming from Tutbury or Burton. Marcus and Lou allowed me to leave the bike in the house which I really appreciated.

  • Lovely house and Marcus and Lou were very welcoming! We took our dog and he was made very welcome as well :)

    Emma2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely room and an exceptionally comfortable bed in a beautiful barn conversion. Marcus and Lou are great hosts, warm without being effusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in their beautiful part of Staffordshire. We hope to visit again in the summer and to explore some of the well-marked walks and footpaths over the fields.

  • Had a very pleasant stay for my course at St George's Park. House is 5 minute drive away. Would have been easy to find (if I had read the message on time!) in very nice surroundings. House very clean and cosy. Cannot find fault! Superb.

A listed Malthouse with it's own gated carpark, the Malthouse is a listed building dating back to the 18th century and is a major part of Burton's history. It retains its bare brick walls and high ceilings and our particular apartment still has the high wooden shutters that would have closed off the loading bay where some of the malt would have come in or been loaded on to wagons. A very quiet block of apartments were our guests feel nice and secure with all the coded entrances.
Although only a one bedroomed apartment, Number 25 is very spacious with its high ceilings and tall windows which let in he light. Expect to feel cocooned in the peacefulness of the whole building. We have made it our mission to retain the industrial feel of the place by using up cycled furniture such as cable drums, tin trunks and hand painted furniture. Cosy throughout with lots of throws and cushions for you to relax and extra pillows for your comfort. Our towels are white and fluffy and our linens are hotel quality and beautifully white. We add many extras to our apartments such as bathroom products, biscuits and coffee and tea. In the fridge you will alway find a bottle of prosecco and water and milk.
This is the heart of Burton with its many and varied restaurants and pubs, along with a cinema just a few minutes walk way, a bingo club and a gym. Previous guesst often leave suggestions in our visitors book and by leaflet to let you know the best places to visit. But we are on the doorstep of theme parks, places of historical interest, the river and the National Arboretum, and last but not least, the Brewery Museum.
  • Excellent place to stay and what a wonderful host. It's the little touches that Jane goes the extra mile with. Perfect location, lovely cosy and stylish apartment but with wonderful tall ceilings so it feels really spacious. Jane also answers any queries within minutes! Can't recommend enough.

  • We had a fantastic few nights at the glampsite. It was a perfect mix of adventure and luxury! The glampsite has everything you need and you can tell that Sarah has worked hard to get the place perfect. We loved our breakfast box full of local produce and cooking it in the kitchen cabin. The hot tub was wonderful and the site was very peaceful. Would highly recommend!!

  • I love camping, and I love spa hotels. This is the first time I've tried "glamping" so wasn't sure what to expect. I'm so glad we went to Peake's Retreats. The yurt was spacious, stylish, clean, and Sarah had lit the wood burner for our arrival. Toilets, lovely showers and washing up facilities were a short walk, and the shared hot tub was a few yards away. You can book time in it when you arrive so it doesn't feel shared and everyone gets a turn. Sarah helped us find somewhere dog-friendly for dinner and even helped us wash our very muddy pooch after a day in the Peaks. Couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome, highly recommend.

  • Fantastic, quirky accommodation for a special occasion! We had a fabulous weekend celebrating a 30th birthday and would highly recommend it. The hot tub is great, even though getting out into the cold wasn’t as fun, but it was definitely worth it.

    Rheanne2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Peake’s Retreats are simply wonderful and Sarah can truly make all of your glamping dreams come true! I wanted to do something memorable for my my 30th birthday and that’s certainly what I got. A yurt that was was absolutely stunning as well as being incredibly cosy (with super comfy beds and a lovely log burning stove). All of which was definitely needed when camping in January. The bathroom facilities were beautiful (I dare to say nicer than my bathroom at home) and we’re filled with complimentary lotions and potions to use. The kitchen (with kettle, hob, oven and fridge) kept us supplied with cups of tea in the morning and also helped us cook our lovely box of breakfast goodies that Sarah you had waiting for us for our first morning together. Plus a hot tub under the stars - what more could I want? All of that combined with a simply wonderful host - who was so responsive, made dinner reservations for us, suggested walks and activities in the local area and so much more. I couldn’t have asked for anything else, and neither will you. Happy camping!

  • Great unique place, worth a stay. Great host.

    Sarah2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is so brilliant and impeccable. The host arranged a special birthday cake and a handwritten note which was a very generous touch to our stay. The whole setup of site is so perfect, beds were very comfortable, breakfast items were provided to cook which i have rarely seen in other places you stay. The place was sparkling clean and everything you need to make your stay enjoyable is there. Would love to go again in summer time. Thank you for everything sarah

    Ishan2019-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow just wow! This place is an incredible experience and one we will definitely be returning to. Our host Sarah was very responsive from the start through till the end to make sure we had everything we needed, she even helped recommend things to do locally. If you are like me and would prefer to go glamping then this is 100% spot on. The yurts were huge and so incredibly cosy, the washing facilities were 5* and the Neals Yard products were a huge plus. Not forgetting the amazing hot tub! It felt like everything had been so well thought through and the small touches made the whole experience been better - bubbles on arrival, breakfast box for the morning, marshmallows for roasting... the list goes on. Thanks for a great trip xx

    Isabella2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here to celebrate my partners 30th birthday. The location is wonderfully peaceful, a perfect place to relax. Finished to a high standard with nice little touches such as a welcome board in the yurt. The log burner made the yurt feel cosy alongside the comfortable bed. We would recommend and will look to stay again. A wonderful little escape from everyday life. Thanks Sarah!

Mobile home that has been made into one open space see photos with country views. It is 2 minutes walk away from the foresters arms pub which serves food as well drinks. The accomodation is a converted mobile home interior walls have been knocked down so the space is one room this enables the feeling of space and some beautiful views. The toilet is located near to the space but does involve walking outside. The home is set within our business in Yoxall but it is well fenced and kept separate.
The home has a microwave, toaster, kettle, hair dryer, towels, bed linen, plates, cups, glasses, crockery, washing up bowl for washing, a TV, separate outside shower room that also contains a toilet and sink, dining table and chairs, plenty of seating, outdoor garden seating. Guests can walk down the field behind the home but not use the facilities that are on site, can use the mobile home and the shower room only and walk through the field to the stream at the bottom. Please ensure when leaving the place gates are closed and when entering gates are closed straight after. Can park for free on the tarmac car park or in front of the mobile home on the grass area however be mind ful if wet and not in a four by four could get vehicle stuck. The mobile home has the benefit of a comfy large king size bed. A single bed can be added into the room upon request minimum five hours notice. To access the toilet, sink and shower have to walk a small distance from the caravan. The toilet and sink and shower were removed to make the space larger and better views. To walk to the toilet it is quite private and close to the room around 20 foot.
Yoxall is a lovely village that has three pubs one being an Italian restaurant. A butchers and farm shop is a short walk from the mobile home it is just behind and can be seen from the rear of the mobile home. The home is a short drive from Jackson’s bank walk, the co op in kings Bromley and Barton under Needwood. Barton Under Needwood has shops, cafes, an excellent Indian restaurant called the little Indian, fish and chip shop a traditional cinema located at Barton Marina. It is recommended to visit Barton Marina. The mobile home is also about twenty minutes drive from beautiful Derbyshire which has stunning scenery I recommend visiting Matlock. St George’s park in Tatenhill is ten minutes drive away from the home where the England football team are trained. Also at Tatenhill there is an airfield which often has public events. Hoar cross is also ten minutes drive from there guests can experience a spa day they and their is the Meynell Ingram Arms to visit which used to host the local hunt. The mobile home is ten minutes drive away from Sudbury hall museum of childhood which the national trust runs. This is just a few places to visit there are many more including Alton Towers theme park.

  • My stay with Ginny was certainly one of those 'above and beyond' positive experiences. She was very responsive and completely understanding when I was delayed slightly by traffic and I was made to feel immediately at home when I arrived. The house is in a beautiful location, very quiet with a lovely garden and an equally lovely dog. This is more than just a room for the night it is a warm, welcoming home. I would highly recommend Ginny as a host.

    Rory2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ginny is a kind and considerate host who went over and above the call of duty during my stay. I would not hesitate to recommend or return.

    Luke2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had another great two night stay at Ginny's and it was every bit as good as the first time. She is an excellent host and was kind enough to let me bring my dog. Nothing was too much trouble and the home-made sourdough toast with my breakfast was a real bonus. The bed is comfy and it is wonderful to wake up to birdsong and fresh air. I will be back and I can definitely recommend.

    Michelle2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • I was in Burton for a meeting and stayed at Ginny's for a night. I could only check in at night after my meeting and Ginny did well to accommodate my late check in needs. She is an excellent host and even made me breakfast the next day! Would visit again

    Ryan2017-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ginny gave me a very warm welcome and advised me on all the local amenities. I was working at St Georges park and her accommodation was in the perfect spot, only 8 minutes drive away.

  • Ginny is a high class host and she made us feel very welcomed at her place. She prepared breakfast ( home made bread, peppermint tea from the garden, butter, honey, cereal and fruits) for us every morning. Mambi, her dog is such a lovely creature who get along with our two dogs very easily. The place is quiet and the air is fresh and very clean.

  • A cosy apartment with parking well situated close to city.

    Colin2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • The property is well appointed and would suit a couple (+ child). The 1st floor apartment is spacious so there is plenty of space to stretch out. The property is behind a private-access gate. There is one parking space allocated to the property. There is an open plan kitchen / dining / living area. On the same level is the kid's bedroom with single bed and the one bathroom (with powerful shower over bath). You go upstairs in to the eaves by spiral stairs. It is a short walk to Burton-upon-Trent's town centre and cinema / Nando's / Bella Italia etc.. Supermakets are also close.

  • We had a wonderful stay at John and Hazel's beautiful cottage. We arrived after a long journey from Canterbury and found ourselves walking into the most comfortable, warm and charismatic cottage that we could have hoped for. We even, to our delight, had a glowing log burner waiting for us. John and Hazel had thought of everything and more in terms of essential items for our stay, including food and toiletties. The bath was a treat and appreciated by all, particularly as it was pretty chilly outside during our stay. The cottage itself is nestled in a lovely spot on the edge of the delightful village of Tutbury. It has a wonderful view from the kitchen/ diner and a private parking space. We highly recommend this little gem and its hosts - thank you John and Hazel for a wonderful stay.

    Judith2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay and John and Hazel were friendly and attentive hosts. When we arrived they brought out a go-kart and trike for the children. Despite being just off of the road, it feels incredibly rural. The kitchen was well equipped with not only essential items provided but lovely little touches for the kids too. Beds were really comfy, with plenty of towels provided too. The bath was absolutely divine with plenty of hot water available. We had a fantastic time seeing in the New Year here, relaxing in front of the fire and playing games (enjoying the absence of a TV!). Would definitely stay again!

    Melanie2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break. The log burner was the perfect backdrop to our Christmas games. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is great. I would recommend John and Hazel and their cottage if you're looking to stay in this area.

  • Fantastic communication, lovely welcome and everything we needed was already there. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Beds very comfortable, everything clean, tidy and superbly presented. Very quiet and private.

  • The house is lovely, well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed the village of Tutbury with some nice shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Good base for lovely walks and generally making the most out of the countryside.

  • Beautiful cottage, quite, secluded and so ideal for our stay. We were weary when we were booking because of a bad revue but the place was so much better than we expected. The hosts baked us bread and essentials were available in the kitchen, hi speed internet was excellent and waking up and seeing the sheep in the fields behind the house was a dream

  • A lovely place to spend a few days. Warm, welcoming, and very comfortable. Julia

    Julia2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We chose this cottage as we were spending a couple of days at Alton Towers (only 30 minutes drive away0 with our sons to celebrate their exam success. We were very grateful to John and Hazel as this was our first adventure with AirBnB and we couldn't have been looked after better! John and Hazel left us some bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee etc. as well as toiletries and towels in abundance. Both bedrooms were beautifully decorated and looked out over the fields over the back. Cows and sheep could be seen and we also bumped into some peacocks. We were lucky with the weather so were able to sit out in the garden in the evening and enjoy the surrounding countryside. We also walked into the high street and had a drink and meal at the local pub. We would highly recommend this cottage for anyone staying in the area - John and Hazel are most hospitable and friendly hosts.

Situated a short drive off the A38, between Derby and Lichfield, Lock House is close to Burton and many other towns in the Midlands. It is in a quiet haven, surrounded by small lakes and bordering the canal. The joy of the location is that it is close enough to access many road networks and places, but far enough away from the town to enjoy the countryside. Guests can walk to a number of small villages nearby and enjoy what they have to offer, or just walk through the National Forest and enjoy the Staffordshire landscape. There is much to do in and around the area- please visit our website, (URL HIDDEN) for more information. We are close to many National Trust Properties, the National Memorial Arboretum, Catton Hall, and the National Museum of Brewing. There are lots of places of interest nearby or within a short travelling distance.
  • Lock House is a fantastic bed and breakfast in an amazing setting. The views from both bedrooms look straight out onto a lock on the canal and further afield is yet more water. Even though it feels as if you are in the middle of nowhere you are less than 5 minutes away from the A38. Both bedrooms are well equipped with all the facilities you need. A large choice of teas, coffee and hot chocolate is available and Julia provides fruit and cake in the downstairs resident's lounge. After a great nights sleep a lovely breakfast was provided including fruit salad, a choice of cereals and a cooked breakfast ( vegetarian). Keys are made available to you so that you are free to come and go as you please. Julia is an attentive host but also gives you your space. Communication was always prompt and Julia always responded. I will definitely be staying again.

Walk through the grey door of 180 from Horninglow Street. The door code is 1180. The mews house C is the last door or the building. The Mews house is a very special 1790's Georgian building with its own private entrance. Part of a large Georgian house but completely self contained. It does have a communal garden which is due to be landscaped this year. It contains many of its original features such as oak beams, brick fireplaces and even cast iron plates from the past.
The master bedroom contains many original oak beams and throughout the house you will see various feature bricks and stones from the past that have been retained. This bedroom has a high, vaulted ceiling. The twin bedroom still retains its original brick chimney breast and fire place.. It has a high, vaulted ceiling and many original beams. The kitchen also retains its brick chimney breast and fireplace and many of the original beams. The living room is a large, light room with a smart tv, wi-fi and a cast iron feature fireplace. We have used reclaimed wood and up-cycled furniture throughout the house to keep its character in tact. And also added some industrial features.
Within a couple of minutes walk there are restaurants covering every taste in food and also fast food catering and take away options. There is a supermarket directly across the road for those who like to cater for themselves. The river is just a short walk away, as is the town centre. The railway station is very close and for those who love history, or beer, even, the National Brewery Museum is across the road! Or for cinema lovers the cinema is just minutes walk away.
  • A fantastic spot in a great location central to town. Jane is certainly a Superhost and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and at home. I certainly recommend staying here and will do so again myself 🤩!

  • A very stylish apartment in the hear of Burton. This is a real gem in an area that doesn't have many properties available. Dog friendly and with an enclosed courtyard. Would be happy to return whenever we are the area.
