Marriage proposals, weddings - it has all happened at The Chapel. Today, The Chapel is an elegantly renovated circa 1849 church in the small town of Lyndoch. The old ironstone exterior, the cathedral ceilings, contemporary decor alongside the cottage gardens and vistas of the Barossa ranges, make for a memorable Barossa experience and a great romantic weekend retreat and/or relaxing getaway.
The Chapel has two queen beds. The main bedroom is upstairs with its own ensuite shower and toilet. It is a loft style bedroom. The second bedroom is located downstairs in the open plan living room. It is shared space with one queen bed that can be partitioned off with curtains for privacy. The main living room has elegant cathedral ceilings, combustion glassfront fireplace, soft carpet floors and contemporary decor and a big comfortable sofa to sink into whilst enjoying a glass of Barossa wine. The sun-filled atrium and spa room is a great way to relax after a long day exploring the Barossa Valley. If you love to cook, a fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal. But the Barossa is known for its foodie culture with its many restaurants and cafes to explore and indulge. We can even organise your own private inhouse chef! Continental breakfast provisions are provided for one morning.
Lyndoch is a delightful country town set in the southern part of the Barossa superbly positioned as the gateway into valley itself . It is home to some great wineries, historic buildings, cafes and restaurants.
  • Great place and great experience! Perfect pick for a romantic getaway!

Tamu Barossa is a fully self contained guest house with a blend of classic and modern design set on our lush two-acre property a mere 3 minute drive from the quaint little town of Lyndoch, the gateway to the Barossa Valley. It is separate from our main house so you will have full privacy to enjoy our cosy guesthouse. The name ‘Tamu’ means ‘sweet’ in Swahili and ‘guest’ in Malay. A happy coincidence that pays homage to Kenya and Malaysia, where my husband and I originated from.
At Tamu you can relax on your private verandah and sip some local wine or enjoy a delectable cup of tea. Take a stroll and wander around our property. We have a variety of young fruit trees, herbs, flowers and there are a lot of established gum trees and cypress pine which attract a number of birds such as the Rainbow Lorikeet, Kookaburra and honeyeaters. You will also be able to meet the kangaroos that hop in and out of our property to graze. Our landscaping is a work in progress so please do bear with us. Our guesthouse can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 1 child. Tamu’s amenities include: - Split system heating and cooling units in the Bedroom and Living Room - Two king single beds that can be separated or put together to create one large king bed (please advise us of your preference). - We can provide a single foam mattress with linen and beddings that can be placed on the floor to be used by your child. - Portacot with mattress and linen, baby bathtub, changing mat, towel and highchair can be provided for a baby. - Wardrobe & dressing table - Fully equipped Kitchen (pots, pans, crockery, glassware, cutlery, teaware) - Kitchen appliances (fridge, oven, microwave, gas cooktop, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine) - Basic Kitchen supplies (olive oil, pepper, salt, sugar, foil, clingwrap) - Complimentary milk, muesli and coffee pods - Open plan Living Room, Kitchen and Dining - Flat screen TV - No Wifi available at this time unfortunately, but you can hotspot your mobile phone - Two seat dining table - Highchair can be provided upon request - Bathroom with toilet and shower - Undercover verandah with a two seat table - On site parking We will greet you in passing and always welcome a chat if you feel so inclined. However, our service philosophy is minimal intrusion. Let yourself in, make yourself at home and if you need anything more or have any difficulty please let us know. Check out what is happening and more photos by following our Instagram page @tamubarossa.
We are just a 13 minute drive to Tanunda the cosmopolitan heart of the Barossa with the best restaurants, entertainment and cellar doors. Award winning winery Kellermeister is just a two minute drive from us. The winery is rated in the top 7% of Australian producers by Australia's acclaimed wine critic, James Halliday. For those who are a bit more adventurous, the Altona CSR Landcare Reserve which is highly rated on Tripadvisor Australia is located just opposite our property. It has a 6km walking track and is a great place to observe the wildlife and vegetation. Or you could wander down on to the Barossa Trail which is a shared cycling and walking path that goes from the outskirts of Gawler through Lyndoch, Rowland Flat, Tanunda, Nuriootpa to Angaston.
  • Great place, quiet with great facilities

All modern amenities included and sleeps up to 4 people. A couple of minutes away from Chateau Yaldara, the Lyndoch Hill Restaurant and the Lyndoch main street. Unique views and park like surrounds make this a truly relaxing getaway. With virtually no surrounding noise or light sources the days are peaceful and the night sky truly stunning. Find us at www/riversidefarm/net/au or search for 'Riverside Farm Barossa Valley' on the web.
  • The Cottage is a fantastic place to stay for a weekend in the Barossa, very stylish and secluded. We had a very relaxing time there.

    Greg & Anne2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • With its high ceilings, rendered walls and terracotta tiled floors, it was easy to imagine oneself in a sprawling Tuscan villa – although the views of lush rolling hills and valleys out each grand window served as a constant and breathtaking reminder that you were indeed in the heart of the Barossa. A truly beautiful house and a postcard worthy location, the Cottage was the ideal base-camp from which to explore the region and sample all it has to offer (a task made easier by Richard’s fantastic tips on local eateries!). From the lambs next to the house, to the welcome basket of local produce, our stay was filled with little touches that helped us relax, decompress, and settle into the Barossa pace of life...a glass of Shiraz near the fire certainly didn’t hurt, either!

    Patrick2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was exactly what we were looking for! Peaceful, serene, gorgeous views and very private. The cottage itself was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we could possibly need. Definitely sit under the stars at night. There's no ambient light, so it's quite the show. Also, be on the look out for kangaroos. We saw two hop by during our stay.

    Chris2019-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is very quiet and private. A perfect place to unwind after a busy day in the Barossa Valley. There’s plenty of space and a great kitchen. We appreciated good air conditioning too. Highly recommended.

    Keren2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you want peace and tranquillity off the beaten track stay at Riverside Farm cottage where the animals are well cared for and allowed to roam free. Lovely views and sunsets, you’ll enjoy seeing and hearing the birds and sheep right outside. Richard was kind enough to show us around the farm, introducing us to his friendly Chickens! You might spot one of the Maremma sheep dogs which guard the chickens or even an owl at dusk. The cottage was very homely and had everything we needed - nice and cool to come back to after a day in the heat. Check out the Barossa farmers market in Angaston - delicious produce! Thanks Richard for having us stay.

    Helen2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage gets a 100% recommendation from us, the quiet location is great, the place is well equipped (good coffee machine and even a soda stream), stylish and immaculate. Richard gives a warm welcome and gave us some great local tips along with wonderful bread, farm fresh eggs and jams. Can not recommend it high enough

    Simon2019-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at the cottage! Was a great base for exploring the Barossa and the hospitality provided by Richard and family were second to none. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had and the sunsets on the farm were stunning. Would definitely stay here again!

    Jennifer2019-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect location, tucked away on a working farm. It was easy to get into Lyndoch for coffee or shopping. The house is very cosy and you are tempted to stay home with a nice bottle to take in nature and the views. We in particular appreciated the outstanding breakfast produce that was offered - the best bread ever, amazing eggs, jam, milk and butter! A place to return!

  • The whole experience of working with Suzie from start to finish went beyond expectations. She always responded to any questions within a very short time frame and went out of her way to make our experience in the Barossa a most enjoyable time. I could not recommend staying at Suzie's accommodation more highly. It was an absolute pleasure working with Suzie and her recommendations for activities were also spot-on. Our girls weekend away will be remembered as very special for many years to come.

  • Everything at Susie’s place was perfect for our weekend getaway. There was plenty of room inside the house with a beautiful garden area in the back. It is driving distance to the bigger town but walking distance to a few local shops. Ideal for a big group. Would highly recommend.

  • Lovely house, warm fire and great touches like electric blankets on all the beds. A great mid-winter getaway!

  • We stayed two nights at Suzie’s beautiful home. We arrived at night and were able to easily access the house and loved waking up to find the view from back of house over the vineyards. Quite amazing. The house has been finished beautifully with lots of lovely touches which fit in well with the Barossa. It was well located for easy access and the chalkboard list of where to go helped guide our visit. We enjoyed the breakfast, chocolates and port supplied. I would recommend Suzie’s house for a weekend away or a longer stay if you have the time.

  • Azalea Cedar Rose is a beautifully appointed four bedroom cottage in Lyndoch, with a sun filled dining room at the back, looking out over a kitchen garden and rolling vineyards in the distance. The house is sparkling clean and each bedroom has its own unique style, from exotic and bold to pretty in pink. We stayed in July and the underfloor heating in the bathrooms were much appreciated along with the wood fire stove and central heating! The meticulous attention to detail was evident throughout the house, from amenities through to decorative finishes. We particularly loved the chalk board on the back of the toilet door with the itinerary of places to visit in the Barossa Valley! We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this gorgeous cottage as a rest stop.

  • An amazing house in a central location. Beautiful finishing touches throughout the house made you feel at home.

  • Being brought up in SA but now living in Tassie I hadn't realised how much I loved waking up to the sound of Magpies warbling. A lovely, welcoming space with lots of thoughtful touches that made the stay very relaxing and memorable. Fresh farm eggs were such a lure that we cancelled going out for dinner and enjoyed them for dinner instead. Thanks Heather. If anyone is coming to do a Barossa visit from Tassie I'll pass on your details. Leanne

  • This house is perfect for large groups of people. Very well set out, clean and orderly in every corner. There’s a large game/entertainment area where we had a great time playing pool. Not far from the pub and take away food, groceries and there’s a lot of tourist information in the house down stairs. Cannot recommend enough!

  • Great historecal building with its soul and atmosphere . The house equipped with absolutely everything. One of us had a birthday and in the kitchen we found even the funny caps:) It feels like you came in somebody's house, as if the owners would just have left. The owner Julie was absolutley hospital, rosponsed quickly, the welcoming fruit&cheese plate made our day:)

    Tom2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 7 adults and 5 children and the Coffee Palace in Lyndoch was the perfect place to stay for us. There was a huge amount of living space both inside and out and we certainly never felt crowded at any time. For the kids, it was like a castle with so many areas to explore and play in. They loved it. Lots of bedrooms also with lots of space. The master suite on the ground floor was huge. All the beds were comfortable with everything provided. The days that we stayed were all over 40 degrees so the air conditioning was given a workout. Despite the heat the all the rooms were kept comfortably cool and sleeping was not a problem. All the areas in the house were very clean and well appointed with lots of thoughtful touches. The outdoor areas and garden were also vast with so many amenities including a large covered area with table and chairs, large lawn and a piste and boule set - just to mention a few. The host was great and responded to all our communications very promptly. Highly recommended for a group or several families.

    Keith2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were three families, a total of 13 people, staying here and it was so spacious. Very convenient location to walk to the Cafes and shops of Lyndoch, as well as to drive to other towns like Tanunda and Gawler, and of course the surrounding wineries. We very much enjoyed our stay here, with every comfort of home.

    Hazel2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

  • This was a great base for a weekend exploring the Barossa. Very cute cottage and a short walk to the local for dinner. Thanks Ingrid for a lovely weekend!

  • location - perfect. We cooked the breakfast supplied on the BBQ and it was... perfect. Erika's place is in the middle of blissful serenity. Close enough to the big towns for wine tasking. Close enough to the local pub to be away from it all. All the thoughtful details are catered for. Clean, comfy... perfect. Close to coffee, food and wine. My recommendation is a trip to the markets or a local supermarket, local cheese, local wine and enjoy an early night in

  • Andrew's place is centrally located in Grawler. His local tips were all spot on (we loved Kies family wines). There is a lot of amenities and we took away from Fasta Pasta (which was great btw) and ate dinner in the comfort of his home whilst drinking wines we purchased from Eden Valley earlier in the day. Check in was fine, and the description is very accurate.

  • My husband and I loved our 2-night stay in Jade’s studio apartment. We enjoyed the hot tub both nights, and were able to walk into town for dinner. Jade’s suggestions for dinner were fantastic, and her recommendation for a wine tour company was amazing. We couldn’t be happier with our trip.

Seppeltsfield was established in the Barossa Valley by Joseph and Johanna Seppelt just 15 years after the European settlement of South Australia. Steeped in rich Barossan heritage, the estate is considered a true national treasure which helped shape the history of the Australian wine industry. Seppeltsfield is most famed for the Centennial Collection - an irreplaceable and unbroken lineage of Tawny of every vintage from 1878 to current year. The estate remains the only winery in the world to release a 100-year-oldngle vintage wine each year. The estate also boasts a remarkable collection of Apera (Australian Sherry), crossing Fino to Oloroso styles, all held in vast Solero nursery cellars. Seppeltsfield is a marriage of Barossan history, community and fine winemaking endeavour. A new golden era now sees art and design (through JamFactory studios), gastronomic excellence (through FINO restaurant) and beauty (through Vasse Virgin) contribute to an exciting renaissance of Australia’s iconic wine estate.

It is the perfect home base for exploring the Barossa Valley and making the most of your stay, whether you're an outdoors type, a wine connoisseur or just simply here to unwind. Then spend your evenings looking out onto its private vineyard and drinking in the sights and smells of nature at your doorstep, or cozy up by the log fire with a glass of wine and the vinyls spinning...
Picture a rustic-style farmhouse, complete with solid red bricks, wide windows and wooden fixtures throughout - but with a newly refurbished contemporary bathroom and full air-conditioning for a touch of modern luxury. Upon arrival you may enter through the laundry, or take the scenic route via the garden, vineyard and terrace courtyard to enter into the kitchen area, which is equipped with a dishwasher and brand-new induction stovetop, and soaks up the sun all day long through its French doors and windows. The kitchen leads into the dining and living room, laundry, hallway and secondary lounge room. The laundry is equipped with a brand new washer, and a second shower and toilet. A clothesline is provided in the courtyard, which can be accessed via the door across from the laundry. The open-plan dining room and living area is fitted out with top of the range furnishings, beautiful, locally hand-painted artwork, a Smart TV and a log fire for your enjoyment in winter. This room has a stunning outlook through wide, East-facing windows onto the back garden, vineyards and beyond - perfect for admiring the rolling hills of the Valley or even some rabbit-spotting! Just across the hall from here is the secondary lounge room, with cupboards stocked with boardgames, books, DVDs and CDs for every taste. There is also another small TV, and Casa Rossa's hidden gem - our record player, and stacks upon stacks of classic vinyls, from Little River Band to Fleetwood Mac to INXS. Along the rest of the hallway is the newly renovated bathroom (with bathtub), and the three bedrooms. The master bedroom with queen bed shares the living area's breathtaking views and is warmed and lit by the sun all day long. • This is the perfect house for families or groups looking for a comfortable home away from home in easy reach to many wineries. Lots of space for the kids to play outside as well as some toys and books inside, which were a big hit with our toddler. The breakfast provisions and bottle of wine were absolutely lovely and very handy to have after a long drive. The fire place kept us warm of an afternoon as we sat and enjoyed the view over the yard. Would stay again.

  • Beautiful sparkling clean, modern apartment right behind the Main Street in Tanunda and close to all amenities. There is a great information centre nearby so we booked a winery tour from our front door. Brilliant place.

    Patricia2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely and clean and rather spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the high quality linen made it a hotel style experience. The extra inclusions of high quality local produce and stylish kitchen made it easy to stay in at times to cook and eat. The extra considerations toward organic and green products through out the place added to the well thought out hospitality this host provided. Easy walking distance to local places but the off street parking is reassuring towards the want to hire a car to really experience the wonderful places to visit in nearby areas. Perfect place to stay for a food and wine lover.

Located on the main street of Gawler - SA oldest town with beautiful heritage features Short hour drive to Adelaide CBD & Airport A short walk to train station with regular trains to city (day & night, 7 days a week) - Happy to help with train info, please ask. Close to Barossa (巴罗萨谷葡萄酒庄) - 15 to 20 min drive to beautiful wineries & country towns Supermarket just across the street Short walk to creek, parkland, recreation centre, cafes, restaurants, shops, library, gym, visitor centre, etc.
This Airbnb is a self-contained unit with its own entrance, it has: a carpeted queenbed bedroom (fan) a carpeted living room (aircon) a carpeted reading room a fully equipped kitchen a shower room (gravity fed hotwater) a toilet a backyard Please note: 1. Apart from the Queen bed for 2 people, a Single size foldable bed can be added if the booking is for 3 people (please remember to send a request when you book, as we need time to get the foldable bed ready). 2. Private carpark is in the rear, size approximately 2.5 m x 5 m (access via back street) - there are just a few big concrete stairs & a footpath between the private car park and the unit. 3. If you prefer street parking, the above-mentioned back street is an option. Also, there are public parking spots out the front (very close to the unit's front entrance, on Gawler main street). Some guests also parked their cars across the main street in the free shopping centre carpark during the day.
Gawler has many 19th Century buildings - a couple of old churches (for example, the Catholic, Anglican and Presbyterian churches) are worth having a look at. Visitor Information Centre will provide lovely colour brochures for the Gawler Self-driving Tour and Gawler Church Hill walking tour. Apart from history side of things, Gawler offers a relaxing and slow pace ambiance - go for a morning walk in the beautiful parkland or a jog along the beautiful creek. Rub shoulders with locals for a local taste experience at the very popular breakfast/brunch place Java Hut on the main street, grab an Italian styled coffee and a sweet treat at CIBO which is also located on the main street, at night try out local pub meals at Prince Albert Hotel which has a nice interior after their recent renovation. For second hand shop lovers, there are a few shops within walking distance - such as Vinnies, AWL, Salvos, Lifeline & Gawler Community House, etc. As for the market on a weekend, I personally like Farmers Market in Pioneer Park (just a stone's throw) where you get fresh produce at competitive prices, nice coffee and soak up nice vibes from the gathering of Gawler locals. There are also different Farmers Markets on the weekend in nearby towns - one of them we love to visit (just a short drive) is Barrossa Farmers Market which offers a wide range of Barrossa made goods, from jam to delicious meals. It is very popular and is a draw card to both locals and residents from other parts of Adelaide. Weekend drive destinations for us for things like a fun walk and a nice brunch are some nearby beautiful countrytowns - Angaston, Tanunda & Nuriootpa - about 20-25 mins drive from Airbnb. Clare Valley and Semaphore Beach are also our favourite hang out places on a weekend or on a public holiday, about 1 hour drive.

Creeve Roe is a contemporary open plan home, with accommodation for 6 people, is set in the picturesque Barossa Valley, with views of rolling farmland, trees and hills from each of its panoramic windows. Set on its own 40 acres, Creeve Roe provides privacy and relaxed living style within 10 minutes of some of the best vineyards and winemakers in Australia. The wineries span the valley between the quaint towns of Tanunda, Lyndoch and Angaston providing easy access to their shops, galleries, restaurants and home grown produce. Creeve Roe is also just 10 minutes from Gawler a thriving country town and a further 45 minute drive will have you in the state's capital city of Adelaide, renowned for its festivals, restaurants and twinkling city lights. South Australian weather is most frequently fine with hot dry summers and mild winters. The Barossa Valley is slightly cooler than the Adelaide plains and Creeve Roe's breezes, wide opens skies, sunsets and starry nights are wonderful. The property has historic early settlement ruins and a couple of creeks to explore, or recline in comfort in the lounge or under the pergola and watch for the kangaroo family that have made Creeve Roe their home. You are also likely to see the pair of Peregrine Falcons that nest in the nearby North Para River cliffs, or any of the many native birds that inhabit the area. There's a book to help you identify them. The house can easily accommodate 6 people in its 3 queen size bedrooms. Built in the 1990s the western red cedar house has more windows than solid walls and a modern kitchen that is the hub of the living area and makes meal preparation fun, especially with local wine and olives on the expansive kitchen bench. The dining area has a solid red gum slab table made by a local craftsman. The lounge room is comfortably furnished with a leather suite including 2 reclining armchairs to ensure a relaxed stay. The large family bathroom has a two person bath and a separate walk in shower. There is also a second shower room and separate toilet off the fully equipped laundry. The house is air-conditioned throughout with ceiling fans as an alternative for circulating the balmy evening air in summer. For those cooler days in winter, heating is in the form of a very efficient Jotul combustion heater.
The Barossa Valley produces some of the best wine in Australia. You're spoilt for choice here with not only 150 wineries and 80 cellar doors, but there's also a local brewer, a cheesemaker, a chocolatier, a gin tasting bar and some of the best restaurants you will find anywhere. Want more? There's a fabulous farmers market every Saturday morning, Maggie Beer's Farm Shop to taste the stuff Maggie makes that you don't even know about yet, local and German bakeries and a pizza joint in Angaston that makes them like nowhere else. And of course there are walking and cycling trails, golf courses including pitch and put golf, parks and creeks, shopping, galleries, a helicopter joy flight that you can actually afford and just down the road from us is the prize winning Pindarie Winery - it's just gorgeous. But don't take my word for it - come and find out for yourself.
  • A wonderfully comfortable home to stay in

The owner went to great length to make our stay perfect with cake and croissants in the fridge and nice soap and shampoo on our pillows. Built on this site in 1845, the Victoria Mill, then owned by Walter Duffield, burned to the ground in 1867. Thankfully, the Counting House, Counting House Office and Weigh Bridge Office were saved. The Counting House will soon accommodate one or two couples, in an incredibly unique piece of Gawler's history. A kitchen, including breakfast, dining room, reading room, lounge and two bedrooms are under the main roof, with the bathroom in a lean-to under the verandah. Bathrobes supplied! Furnished.
This is a seriously old building, with some lovely, interesting quirks. Guests can enjoy it's unique place in Gawler's history whilst enjoying good quality linen, comfortable beds, reverse cycle heating and cooling, a lovely kitchen, electric lighting and hot water from pipes! Future upgrades and additions are planned, but for now, share an unique experience, at a fair price. Pictures do not show furnishing, but it is.
Gawler is steeped in history and the Counting House is located a short distance to the main street and shops, surrounded by other historical buildings. There are many self-guided walks available and bike paths along the rivers. This property is two streets away from my other available Gawler listings which are part of the Old Gawler Courthouse.
  • I fell in love with the cottage. It was the cosiest space and everything just where it was supposed to be. We loved the Christmas decorations and food, coffee and tea that was left there for us. It was like being at home. Beds were super comfy too. Many thanks for a great experience and so convenient to the main street. I will definitely be back and also recommend it to my friends.

Built in 1881, in historic Church Hill, with modern amenities, the quiet, central Gawler location offers an unique, private, short accommodation option, close to the Barossa Valley. Happy to share the experience of such a wonderful, majestic building at better-than-caravan park-prices. Located to the rear of the Courthouse, guests enter a luxury ensuite, into an expansive bedroom with couch and table. The massive, freestanding bath is divine. Initial breakfast supplies are provided in the room.
The Judge's Chamber offers a large, luxury bedroom with sofa and desk, and ensuite with freestanding bath (no kitchen). Gawler is a historical town at the gateway to the Barossa Valley, and the precinct of Church Hill where the Courthouse sits, is heritage listed. Cowan street is a quiet, wide, Jacaranda tree-lined avenue close to shops, restaurants, sporting facilities and sites of interest on the Heritage trail. Located 40 km from Adelaide CBD, the Courthouse is 250 metres from the train station. Built in 1881, it is being meticulously converted to a residence. Gawler has many parklands and wonderful walking trails along its three rivers. It is less than an hours drive to the Clare Valley, 40 minutes to the beach or city and 20 minutes to the Barossa Valley.
Church Hill is a quiet area yet is centrally located. There are four churches and many other historical buildings in Cowan Street, as well as a horse hitching post! The Police Station is located on one side of the Courthouse and the Anglican Rectory on the other. Gawler Aquatic Centre, tennis courts and Gawler Central train station are a short walk. In late spring the street turns purple with Jacaranda flowers. As the gateway to the north, Gawler has many local historical hotels.
  • The property is one of the rare finds we have come across in Airbnb. It has a beautiful boutique vibe, literally a courthouse turned into a stay! The place is thoughtfully done, with some really nice touches from the host. The place was exactly as described in the listing. It was sparkly clean with a very considerate host. Natalie (the host) was really prompt in responses, always patiently responding to our basic queries. She made sure we were well catered for throughout our stay with some nibbles, breakfast, chocolates. She also ensured the place was sparkling! We would highly recommend this place and would definitely revisit. It was well above our expectations!

  • Natalie’s place was a cosy retreat. The bathroom was spectacular & the bath was my husbands’ favourite place!Natalie took the time to leave thoughtful gifts for the two of us, and personally delivered fresh bath robes to us.

  • A stunning space for me and my little family. My daughter is 8 months and loved exploring the bathroom - which is absolutely stunning. But the sourdough loaf waiting with condiments really was incredibly thoughtful and appreciated! Highly recommend this space and will be back myself ♥️

Situated in Rowland Flat on a three-acre property, the stone cottage was the original tack and feed rooms for Mr Rowland's stables. Separated by a courtyard the stables are now the home of the host. The cottage is comprised of a truly delightful bedroom with an antique double bed with stunning garden views; comfortable lounge room with TV/DVD, CD/radio, books and games; light and open equipped kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave, large electric frying pan and breakfast bar overlooking gardens through french windows (provisions for continental breakfast); the bathroom has both separate shower and claw foot slipper bath, toilet and vanity. R/c air-conditioning/heating and ceiling fans throughout. Access from the cottage to your own verandah with garden spilling over…serenity…the perfect spot for breakfast, coffee or bottle of local wine. Enjoy walks through our vineyard and paddocks and come across surprises such as our free-range chooks, wood fire pizza oven, an array of interesting seating and more. Incredible views across the valley floor to the imposing ranges or, bordering our property, the beguiling North Para River (in winter a roaring, cascading joy to behold or in summer the rock based riverbed allows access to caves, a geologists delight) and the birdlife is bountiful. Use of the swimming pool is available in the warmer months.
There’s plenty to do, only minutes away: Tanunda Pines Golf course, the bike/walking path (from Angaston to Gawler) runs past the top of our property, hot air ballooning, helicopter scenic flights, wineries, restaurants, art galleries, cafes and day spa (at the Novotel). What more could you want?
  • We loved The Stables and we’ll definitely be back. An easy drive to Tanunda, a short walk to Jacobs Creek winery and very convenient access to the bike path that runs through the Barossa. The accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed and situated in lovely gardens. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Thank you to Dixie and Tibs and their humans for such a lovely stay.

  • Kay and Madeline are such lovely thoughtful hosts. The extra little touches of fresh eggs from the chooks and homemade jam just made it extra special. The property is beautiful and the house so very clean. We had a wonderful stay and will be definitely returning.

  • Loved staying here! Would recommend to all my friends and hoping to make it back there again. Great location, just out of the main town is the perfect distance away to have a relaxing get away. We made use of the gardens and pool during summer. The country style breakfast of fresh eggs and bread was a great touch.

    Lauren2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy stay at a lovely place central to all Barossa attractions. Loved the hospitality and the extra amenities (Kay’s farm eggs were the best we’ve ever had!). Would recommend to any prospective visitors!

A warm welcome from the picturesque and historic Barossa! an international attraction for the wineries, restaurants, scenic surroundings and Germanic culture with plenty to do and see. The house is located near major arterial roads for easy access, but is in a quiet cul-de-sac with quiet neighbours – no city noise! Looking forward to making your stay comfortable. I have three separate rooms available. The Chardonnay Room, The Cabernet Room and The Pinot Room. Each can accommodate two guests.
You have a clean and tidy bedroom that has a comfortable modern double bed, hanging space, drawers, small table and a recliner. You have your own air-conditioning for heating or cooling, as well as a ceiling fan. A key for your bedroom door assures you your belongings are secure. There are well thought out little touches that make your stay that bit more comfortable and easy. You are getting more than a private room. My home is organised to be very guest friendly. You can access the lounge, dining, kitchen and laundry area. The kitchen is a full kitchen with all you need, not just a 'kitchenette'. The bathroom is for guest use only and has a large vanity space, separate shower recess and separate toilet. The bathroom may need to be shared with other guests if the other rooms are booked. The kitchen is available for food storage (fridge and cupboard) and also cooking. Please let me show you how to use the appliances and stove. I supply tea / coffee / hot chocolate / water, and a light breakfast of fruit and cereal. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer for a fee, again please let me show you how to use these appliances.
The immediate neighbourhood consists of settled home owners. Most houses have high fencing in their backyards for privacy. It is a very quiet area and has respectful neighbours. A quaint country town, with no city noise means that your stay will be relaxing and restful. Nuriootpa is surrounded by vineyards and farms. At any time of the year there is a lot of green vegetation. Being part of the Barossa Valley means there are a number of small towns all with their own charm and interests. Nuriootpa is known as the business end of the Barossa and has a new shopping mall. We have Foodland and Foodworks available for all your grocery needs as well as Mitre 10, clothing, sports and homeware shops, also Aldi and Cheap as Chips. A number of cafes are located throughout the Barossa towns. We have two 24 hour food options with Hungry Jacks or the Big Grill located at Caltex on the highway. Every town has a local pub which will serve great meals. The Vine Inn is a popular spot being open from 7 a.m. for breakfast to 10 p.m. with a bistro or sports bar. There are also high end dining experiences that will tantalise you with their local produce and amazing cooking skills. Churches are also a common sight. Finally, not forgetting the many wineries whether it is a boutique family winery or major winery.
  • Perfectly located and very accessible Air BnB, very homey and comfortable. Monica is a great host and provides everything you will need for a great stay. The room was very clean and tidy and the communal areas fabulous too. Thanks!

At first glance, yes it's a shed. But explore further and you will find an unique Aussie experience, a fully functional self contained room. Shower, toilet and kitchenette. All private and seperate from our house. It's normally used for overnighters by family and friends. Please be open minded in your expectations, it's not the Ritz, Hilton, Taj Mahal but what it is clean, tidy, private affordable accomadation. Single or couple.
For the cost and facilities available here you won't find much better value. Its not the Taj Mahal but its clean tidy and compact. Queen bed. Designed for a couple or single person. Room is insulated with reverse split air conditioning. (ignore the old in wall aircon in photo)
Our residence is in a quiet street. We have lived at the same address for over 20yrs. We have a very safe neighbourhood and we have a good relationship with our neighbour's.

  • Nelly and Guido, thank you so much for the amazing opportunity to stay in your spectacular accommodation. Your stays were exactly what we need when visiting the Barossa for our friends wedding. Conveniently located at the start of the Barossa Valley trail, close to everything and the overall easy of getting to and from your place was so great. The amenities and presentation of the accommodation was perfect, my partner and I can’t complain about a thing, you have certainly thought of everything; from superb linen to dual shower and a spa all overlooking the gorgeous vineyard. Ultimately congratulations on such an amazing stay. We will be highly recommending your stay to friends and family when they visit.

  • Nelly was a lovely host and responded straight away. When we arrived the instructions were super easy and we located the place with ease. The villa itself was beautiful, with lovely linen and a stunning bathroom with an excellent spa bath. The view was spectacular and sitting out on the little deck with the local wine and cheese we collected during the day was a perfect end to the day. Amazing photo opportunities and it is so private. If you need help Nelly is happy to help but on the other hand if you like your privacy he is more than respectful of this. Would definitely recommend staying here. Perfect for a romantic couples get away and some quiet time.

The room was spacious with a super-comfy king size bed as well as an extra bedroom with bunks we didn’t need. We slept unbelievably well! Darren & Delma were considerately quiet to ensure we were not disturbed. It was nice to be able to use a kitchenette to prepare basic snacks & breakfast. Built in 1881 in historical Church Hill, with modern amenities, the Courthouse is centrally located in Gawler, yet quiet, offering a unique, self-contained accommodation option, close to the Barossa Valley, Gawler main street and shops. The Studio is at the front of this majestic building and is completely private. Originally the Witness Waiting Room , Entrance Foyer, Hallway, and WCs, the Studio is cosy and well equipped with initial breakfast supplies, fast internet and Netflix.
Gawler is a historical town at the gateway to the Barossa Valley, and the precinct of Church Hill where the Courthouse sits is heritage listed. Cowan street is a quiet, wide, Jacaranda-tree-lined avenue close to shops, restaurants, sporting facilities and sites of interest on the Heritage trail. Located 40 km from Adelaide CBD, the Courthouse is 250 metres from the train station. Built in 1881, it has been meticulously converted to a residence. The Studio apartment which was once the entrance, witness waiting room and bathrooms now offers a bedroom, bathroom, laundry/kitchen and hallway in the front of this listing, with the Judge's Chamber offering a large bedroom/living room and luxury ensuite to the rear of the building. The main courtroom is for occasional private use.
Gawler Aquatic Centre, tennis courts, Yoga centre and Gawler Central train station are a short walk. In late spring the street turns purple with Jacaranda flowers. As the gateway to the north, Gawler has many local historical hotels.

  • Cool apartment in an exceptional house. Super centrally located. Bed very comfortable, bathroom great. Only the kitchen needed a renovation, although everything was there. Also a small breakfast - thanks! But there was a washer and dryer, which was important for us travelers for one night.

  • A stylish, relaxing space in a great location with a lot of interesting history. Much more than a studio too; separate kitchen, bedroom and dining, and an 'on trend' bathroom. Loved all the thoughtful touches and provisions. And, Natalie was the perfect host, going above and beyond! Overall, highly recommend it, it's not just a place to stay, it's also a fabulous experience.

The Gawler train station is a 4 minute drive, a great to the city of Adelaide (45 minutes) with high frequent trains. There are plenty of places to eat and drink at the bottom of the hill on Murray street. Our favourites include Java Hut for breakfast, Exchange for their entertainment and food and of course The Gawler South Bakery for all baked goods. The Gawler South Bakery is a big part of our family and has been a part of the town of Gawler for over 50 years. Highly recommend stopping in on your way or way out. (30 Adelaide road, Gawler east)
