  • Old monastery hostel is a beautiful place with a soul, a lot of art, upcycled elements. It's very clean even though it's old. The cabin is not very hot so a pair of woolen socks will be handy. Also, the cabin is right next to a river and nicely isolated from the main house which means to go to bathroom you need to go outside and then to the main house. Kitchen has all cooking amenities, breakfast is very delicious (home made soda bread, fruit bread, boiled eggs, porridge, butter, jams, fruits). Bathrooms and showers are hostel style, a few cabins and sinks in one room. Living room has a lot of board games, very warm and chilling. Conemara park entrance is 1 minute walk, amazing! Thanks for hosting us, Stephen, we would definitely come back while visiting Connemara again. This place is for people who likes staying simple with a nature, not a hotel type of stay.

  • Cutest hostel, very cozy especially in the room with the fire burning. Perfect location for touring the Connemara area. Easy to find. Stephen was kind and very knowledgeable. Hopefully will return to this location and would stay again.

  • Quirky and beautiful stay

    Anne2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most amazing hostel we have stayed at - with lots of quirky little features and loads of character! Location is also great: directly next to the Connemara visitor centre, with walks on the doorstep. Cute cat waiting at the entrance.

    Louise2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great time at the Old Monastery. Can't wait for our next visit.

  • It’s so good I almost don’t wanna tell anyone... If you like boho charm, this is the place for you. If you like sleek and modern, better look elsewhere.

  • This tidy 3 bedroom bungalow is easily walkable to the Connemara national park and just 5 minutes walk into town. There are a couple of pubs and restaurants which are fine. It’s a very peaceful place.

    Ian2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed the charm of this cottage, with candles, adequate kitchen facilities and amazing location next to Connemara. Letterfrack is very close, with a general store and wonderful places to eat, and Kylemore Abbey to visit. Anna was a gracious hostess who checked in with us !

    Scott2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • A super comfortable cottage and ideally located! Be careful though: in winter, it's a little cold in the house, but nothing serious. I highly recommend Anna's cottage!

    Manon2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Anna's place is perfect. It's located right next door to the Connemara National Park and a walk away from Letterfrack village. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and she allowed me to take my dog! I would recommend this place.

  • The cottage was lovely; comfortable and quiet, even though it is near the road. Located just outside Letterfrack, it is conveniently situated. There are many flowers and plants around the cottage. Rooms are comfortable and beds great. Having wifi is a real plus. and the tv had a wide chase of stations .Didn't have a chance to use the bbq, but was tempted.

  • Had a lovely stay in the waterfall hut, I expected it to be cold but it was actually very comfortable. The hostel itself is incredibly charming and couldn’t be located more conveniently to the national park. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

    Anthony2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the waterfall cabin. It's very cosy, the area is beautiful and Stephen makes great porridge and soda bread for breakfast!!! We are definitely coming back :) For light sleepers I would recommend earplugs since the waterfall is quite loud ;)

    Finóla2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this friendly place. After a very warm welcome the premises were shown and we fell in love with the style of the house. Really a place to relax!

    Patrick2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Silvana’s BnB is a really cosy and beautiful decorated old Irish house! It is easy to find and offers different ways to spend the night there. You can rent a clamp, a family room, a mixed room or simply camp in the garden for a little fee. The price includes a nice breakfast with self baked bread by Stephen, coffee tee and porridge! Once you arrived and the reception isn’t manned you can sit and wait in the living room till Stephen or Silvana welcome you! We felt like a big multicultural family with common evenings playing guitar or games and dinner! There are common areas as well, like kitchen, living room and 2 baths with showers! The bnb is located direct in front of the Connemara national park with the beautiful diamond hill hike just 100 meters away. We definitely recommend a stay at the old Monastery Hostel in Letterfrack!

  • We stayed in the waterfall hut for two nights. It was great: the sound of the waterfall to wake up is very welcome. The hostel was clean and tastefully decorated! The atmosphere was very nice and we met a lot of French. The hosts were very present and responsive. We recommend 100%!

    Aurélie2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described. Lovely atmosphere. I stayed in the waterfall hut, which I absolutely loved. The heated blankets made the bed nice and warm, the sound of the waterfall made me fall asleep within minutes. It was just a really friendly and nice place. Definitely coming back on my next visit to Ireland!

  • Great stay with Kathleen, who is an extremely friendly host. Excellent value. Only downside: the rooms are not very soundproof, round trips in the bathroom next door can be troublesome.

    Edwige2019-09-01T00:00:00Z

Free laundry is also provided. We are so lucky to Live here after travelling for a long week and get a very good rest. Highly recommend to everyone! • Declan is very nice and is very present for the guest. The room is very beautifull and the place was Amazing. It's quiet place to stay in Connemara ! I will be back again one day! Thanks for all Declan!

    Sammy2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • How can we describe the experience of being in a traditional stone cottage, having a fire in the wood stove, surrounded by the Connemara Mountains. Declan is a fine host, offers healthy food for breakfast, a helping hand if you need it, and a quiet discretion that is very welcome. The house is small, but the land around it is large! And the towns nearby offer true Irish tradition and fantastic food. We loved staying here. Thank you.

    Lydia2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Declan's place was a really nice stay in a beautiful area of Ireland. He welcomed us into his home very kindly, and his recommendations for places to visit were of real help.

  • Beautiful part of the country warm and cozy old cottage highly recommended

    Jewel2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect. Declan was very very very caring with us. I will come back. He does for us a fire of turf. I was very happy to live that. It was a very pastoral ambiance. We were in the middle of the sheeps. It was very "exotic" for us. I really LOVE the NATURE in Ireland. And by Declan we were in the middle/in the heart of this WONDERFUL irish NATURE.

  • Usually I would consider myself being too old to stay in a hostel, but this one proved me wrong. It´s a quirky and magical place. I loved the design and the details and the homemade bread in the morning. I would like to stay there again for one or two nights (for a longer stay I would need my own bathroom ;) on my next trip to Connemara! Letterfrack is wonderful. Stephen, you created a very special thing there. I salute you for that and for your friendly grumpiness or grumpy friendliness as well! See you again someday! :)

    Estefania2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really exotic, at the foot of diamon hill and near the abbey (10min by car). Just perfect for a nature break, roots. The decor the ambience the place and the welcome do everything to feel like home. This hostel has a real charm, it is not the luxury graaand, and that's exactly what makes you feel so good. Enjoy your travel!

    Sofia2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Although the pictures already indicate a pretty house I was amazed as I entered the hostel. It is gorgerous, full of details and really really cosy. The two hosts were kind, breakfast was amazing and the diamont hill trail starts directly behind the courtyard. Definitly one of the highlights of my journey!

    Caro2019-09-03T00:00:00Z

  • Aine was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived giving us lots of tips for things to see and places to visit. She had even lit the log burner for us so it was cosy and warm. The cottage was in a good location close to town and we enjoyed seeing the wonderful countryside out and about and getting to visit some of the local bars to hear some traditional Irish music.

    Hannah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Aibnb is extremely well located inside Clifden, and you will find everything you will need. Although it might be cold during winter time, the place has nice amenities. Aine even got us tea/coffee/breakfast. She is extremely nice and will give you loads of tips about what to do in case you run out of idea. Finally, the place was ever so clean. I’d definitely stay there again if I were to come to Connemara again.

    Nicolas2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Kate's Cottage. It's in a beautiful, quiet, rural location and just minutes from Clifden. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and warm - the fire was lit prior to our arrival which made for a true warm welcome. The home has everything you would need, everything is thought of. Aine is the perfect host. She kindly gave us a lift into Clifden and pointed out some great recommendations, Guy's for dinner and Lowry's for drinks and music after. We would be delighted to stay in Kate's Cottage the next time we visit Clifden!

  • What a lovely Weekend we have just had. Aine left Adam in charge he done a great job. Popped in to say hello when we arrived and gave a few recommendations, then left us to it, making sure that we were happy to contact him if we needed to. The second night we just so happened to be in a pub that he was playing in. Really lovely for a chilled out of season visit

  • Excellent value for money, a hostel where you’re not only a guest but also treated like family. Comfortable place to be in, quiet, well located, right beside the Connemara National Park. A very eclectic decoration with a personal touch, it’s made to make you feel like at home even though you’re having a brake. Amazed by its hosting capacity and definitely a place to remember and recommend.

Fuchsia is located beside Connemara National Park and Letterfrack village and is a one bedroom apartment. The large double bedroom has a double and single bed, sleeping 3 people. The kitchen/diner/living area are combined. Bathroom has shower, no bath. Ceilings are low. Bookings are weekly Saturday to Saturday.
  • We have unfortunately not been able to meet Anna, but the communication was cordial, and efficient. The apartment is nice and completely furnished. Letterfrack is an excellent base for the exploration of Connemara. We were only sorry that we had to pay a little extra for the electricity. However, we can wholeheartedly recommend the cottage to everyone.

  • Steps away from Connemara national park and letterfrack town! You could walk to the shop and the park while still getting a nice country setting. The home is as described and a perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. Would definitely return/recommend.

  • I had a wonderful week in Fushia. Anna is a very friendly and welcoming host and had provided homemade scones for my arrival. Fushia is a short walk from Letterfrack and Connemara National Park. The view from the sitting room is spectacular and the location is beautiful and peaceful. Fushia was everything that I had hoped it would be – I had all the space I needed and it was clean and well equipped. I recommend staying at Fushia!

This is a beautiful small cottage built in the traditional style on the Wild Atlantic Way just 1.5 km from Letterfrack Village and the centre of the stunning Connemara National Park. The sea is just 300m away and the house is private and set among trees.
It is located at the heart of North West Connemara within 1.5km of the Connemara National Park (Walks are currently open March 2020 but not visitor centre) and 6km from Kylemore Abbey. Also within walking distance of Rosleague Manor for food and bar. The fields next door have wonderful panoramic view of the Diamond and the Kylemore valley as well as Ballinakill Bay for you to enjoy. The area is littered with remote beaches of golden sand and turquoise seas to swim or kayak in. The house is close to mountains and hills with views over bogs and lakes. We would love to share it with you.
Letterfrack is a lively village often with music at weekends and plenty to do both in the pubs and outside. We are spoiled here with the most beautiful scenery. Deserted beaches views of The Twelve Bens Mountain range and the Wild Atlantic Ocean. There is little light pollution and we havedark skies with thousands of stars - make sure to go outside on a clear night the Sky looks 3 dimensional.
  • Quiet peaceful location, lovely wee cosy cottage, near to the village and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • A beautiful warm little cottage set in one of Ireland’s most picturesque areas. I spent three nights but would have loved at least a week. I will stay again in the future. The hiking was really great. Thanks Marie Louise for a fantastic stay.

  • Marie Louise’s place was so cute. The perfect little stylish, yet simple, cottage. She was fast to respond and accommodating. Perfect spot for two adults. Her recommendations were spot on. She also left us milk, coffee, tea, butter and bagels! Would love to come back in the summer!

    Kallie2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Marie Louise is a great host and her cozy cottage is right in the middle of the fabulous Connemara park, great beaches and Kylemore Abbey. We offer a cosy, bright, private studio apartment for a maximum of one couple. Located at one end of the house on a quiet country road, we are approximately 3k from Letterfrack village and Connemara National Park. Adjacent to both the sea and the Twelve Bens mountain range, this is a beautiful situation with an abundance of activities available nearby and plenty of restaurants. We live on a small holding which includes 5 rescue dogs and small livestock which are loose to roam around the site.
  • Patricia’s place is pristine. It was clean, there was a kitchen, sitting room, books about the Celts on the shelves, breakfast was delicious - pancakes and skyr plus a fruit basket waiting for me as well. The location is beautiful as well. Would highly recommend!

    Daniel2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia's place is delightful. We had our own space that was perfect for our needs. It is located just minutes from Connemara National Park and was perfect for visiting Kylemore Abbey. We hope to visit again!

    Wendy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s home is incredibly relaxing and cozy. The room was bigger than expected, the bed very comfortable. Her sweet black kitty kept us company. Directions were clear. An excellent stay.

    Maggie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little house near Conemara National Park. The views from the place are beautiful, and we loved all the animals. The little black cat was such a sweetheart. Wish we could have stayed longer, definitely recommend.

    Tim2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s apartment is a fantastic retreat in the middle of the Connemara countryside. If you are a lover of animals this is the place for you. Dogs, ducks, chickens, and a pig were all there to greet us in the morning. It was the little touches that made it really special. Thank you again Patricia for one of our most memorable nights on our tour so far.

    Tom2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This trip was simply magical! That's all we dreamed of when we went to Connemara ... friendliness, scenery, a host of great kindness and invaluable help with logistics and advice! The house is perfect, the animals are lovely, Patricia is really exceptional! Only happiness. Our only regret: staying only one night. Lovers of nature and real life, we strongly recommend !!!!

    Eloi2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Not easy to find in the dark but worth the journey. Patricia did rescue me though on an exceptionally rainy night!

    Alexis2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is brilliant - a large double bedroom, en-suite with shower, living room with sofa and breakfast table, and a kitchen. Patricia had left us some fresh eggs, jam and bread for the morning and we also met all the animals (dogs, chickens, turkeys, cats and the pig) which made the stay really lovely. The views are incredible and there are some nice places to eat a very short drive away. Would recommend!!

    James2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The only thing that could’ve made our stay at Anna’s better is if we would’ve stayed there throughout our whole visit to Ireland! The scenery was incredible and the apartment was cozy. It was also very nice to have a washer and dryer being this close to the end of our trip! Anna left amazing scones for us and they were great for breakfast the next morning! I would recommend staying at Anna’s to everyone and hope to return myself in the future!

  • My wife and I spent 2 days at Anna’s place, and it was an amazing experience! Super clean and beautiful apartment, breathtaking nature views and very soulful kind hosts who are ready to help with anything. We see that some guests complain about fact that the electricity is managed by a separate meter, but overall is a nice experience that brings you closer to the eco-friendly atmosphere of Ireland. Thank you for such a nice experience in Connemara!

    Pedro2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet, little cottage at the sea. Everything you need and more. Anna was on hand if we needed anything and was very helpful. Would love to come back and stay for a week.

  • Beautiful apartment with a gorgeous view and close to a lovely beach. We loved our stay! We were a bit taken off guard by the presence of a meter that only accepted 1 or 2 euro coins for electricity - so when you arrive, come prepared with a bit of change so you can use the amenities!

All of this should be experienced, but allow time. We are the closest Hostelry to Kylemore Abbey, and this is a must see.

Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in a stunning seaside location enjoying panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. It is an old cottage which has been renovated over the years while still maintaining it's rustic charm. It's location, in one of the most scenic spots along the Wild Atlantic Way in Connemara, is simply breathtaking. Please note there is no Wifi - it's a real "get away from it all" location.
It is a small traditional cottage with an outside decking area overlooking the sea, a good sized garden, patio area and shed. The inside space comprises a kitchen/dining area, cosy sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs which are accessed by a wooden ladder as seen in the photos (please note this may not be suitable for young children or elderly/infirm adults – look at the photos to decide whether it is suitable for you and your group). There is one bedroom with a king-size bed and another bedroom with 2 single beds, sleeping 4 people in total. The door from the kitchen leads out to the decking area from which you can enjoy fabulous sea views. If you're lucky you might even catch sight of dolphins passing by. In the summer months you can see beautiful sunsets over the sea. The cottage combines many traditional features with modern conveniences including a multi-fuel stove, electric heating, hot water and a small but fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and everything you need to cook your own meals. For entertainment there is a TV, Xbox, dvds, games and books. There is a washing machine and clothes dryer in the adjacent shed, along with a BBQ and outdoor furniture for your use. Depending on the weather, the cottage can be a calm and idyllic place; a real paradise, or wild and windswept as it sits on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Either way it's a special place to be. It's particularly suitable for couples looking for a romantic getaway or small groups of friends/family who want to experience the raw beauty of the West of Ireland. The name 'Oystercatcher Cottage' comes from the sea birds often seen and heard on the shore below.
Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in Mullaghgloss on the Renvyle peninsula on the famous Wild Atlantic Way driving route. The cottage is close to many stunning beaches - Lettergesh is the closest at just 2km away. The cottage has views to the mouth of Killary Harbour and across the bay to Co. Mayo in the distance. The village of Tullycross is 2.5k away where you'll find bars serving food including the award-winning Paddy Coynes Pub. The entrance to Connemara National Park is just 7km away in Letterfrack village. The walk to the top of Diamond Hill in the park is well worth the effort. In Letterfrack village you will find a supermarket and more bars which serve food. Kylemore Abbey & Gardens and the town of Clifden are also within easy driving distance.

  • Where to start... f a b u l o u s location, and such a cozy, well-equipped and nicely styled cottage. The view is out of this world. Was lucky enough to have a morning coffee out on the deck in the middle of winter. The bed was very comfy. Lovely owners, great communication. Can’t wait to return in summer one day!

  • Beautiful spot and a really well-appointed cottage nestled on the coast. We loved it and would happily go back.

  • This place is s gem - a find. The cottage is so tastefully decorated. It’s also quirky - it’s location is sublime, set just above a cliff overlooking the Atlantic just south of Killary Harbour at the mouth of Clew Bay. The beaches are spectacular and the views of the Islands and mountains are off the scale for beauty. There is a wonderfully comforting feel to the place - it’s been a very happy home, you can tell.

  • A gem of a cottage, simple but perfectly formed and the most breathtaking views out over the sea. We visited around late October so the weather wasnt great but it didnt matter. Windswept beach walks, cosy wood burning stove and books to read. Heaven. We felt very lucky to stay there.

    Petal2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous old cottage in a beautiful location. Kids will love the 'trap door' into their attic room. Perfect base for exploring Connemara. Hope to return some summertime and take advantage of the deck with its beautiful views.

  • Our stay at Cloverfox was so lovely! Heather was a gracious host and we would definitely stay again if given the opportunity. - Madeleine and Molly

  • The accommodation is close to the park Connemara, parking is free, you can walk directly because the parking lot is full ... there is a restaurant in front and a mini market open until 22h. A breakfast is available in the morning. We recommend !

  • It is difficult to dry your clothes if they get wet (if it rains, and it will), hooks on the wall or something would help. Basic breakfast but nice kitchen were you can bake eggs etc.

  • 1st class hospitality! Very accommodating with checking in & out times. Room (ensuite) was spacious, warm & spotless. Beds were very comfortable. It was great to get back from a days scuba diving to a piping hot shower. As well as the room itself the open sitting area & kitchenette available was clean & comfortable. Staff took the time to give you a run down of the local area & its amenities, & their was always someone available should you need anything. The Cloverfox bar & restaurant was also 5 star. Good range of choice on the menu. The food was so good we ended up eating their both nights - sea food cooked to perfection. Nice stove fire, & again a great bunch of staff & friendly locals. Minutes walk to the local shop, which also has a hot/cold food counter Private parking. Would highly recommend.

Cosy country apartment located on Lake Road in Moyard. Lovely area with beautiful scenic walks and beaches nearby. Letterfrack is 2km with shop, bars and restaurants. Cleggan is 4km away with shop, bars, restaurants and trips to Inishbofin Island. Clifden is 10km away with shops, bars and restaurants. It is lovely area to explore Connemara with places to visit like Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, The Sky Road, Omey Tidal Island, trips to Inishbofin Island to name a few areas to visit.
  • More than a place to stay, this little apartment has windows with a beautiful view looking out to the mountains. I was contacted almost daily with travel tips and places to visit. The layout was comfortable and the laundry and TV were a great way to catchup after trekking. Most of all was the location so near to Connemara park and Diamond peak, restaurants in both Letterfrack and Clifden, plus the Kylemore Abbey. It was a perfect place to visit many places and have the comforts of home. I recommend anyone coming to the area to reserve this space.

  • We've been there recently for one night as we wanted to see Connamara Nation Park and Kylemore Abbey. Both points of interest are nearby and can be reached within 5 minutes. The appartment itself is on the owners property but has it's own entrance. It was a bit hard to find as the our navigation system didn't know the given road but Irene was very helpful and supportive and was very quick in responding to our messages. Check-In went smooth and Irene showed us the appartment within minutes. One highlight to mention is that Irene offered to drive us to Cliffden (town nearby). This was beyond expectations and was very kind. Altogether we had a great stay and I can definately recommend this place for everyone who is on a roadtrip or to stay for more than one day.

    Martin2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is a very lovely and quiet place! We felt like home! You find everything you need and its really comfortable. Irene is great! She had useful tips. We would come back!

  • This cottage is an amazing find. Surrounded by lakes, mountains, and sheep farms, it's the quintessential Irish countryside experience! It's a beautiful cottage, the host (Patrick) is super friendly (we ran into him nearby while exploring the area), and the scenery around the cottage is absolutely stunning! It's also very secluded, requiring a ~1 km drive down a single-lane gravel road, which is great for getting out of town for a peaceful stay in the countryside. The cabin is perfect for a family or two couples. There's one bedroom, and the living room can function as a second bedroom (with a door). We were there during a torrential, gusty rain storm, and the cozy cottage with its heated floors in the bathroom and kitchen was a welcome reprieve from the elements.

    Jessica2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cottage is nestled in a breathtaking set of mountains. It’s set on the bank of a gorgeous lake and dotted with funny sheep. You could take a day in itself to just explore the grounds. The surrounding towns offer authentic irish pub experiences, not to mention the close proximity of Kennymore Abbey. Fairy tail-like. The cabin was super cozy. We spent the last two days of our honeymoon there and took a trip out to the cliffs. Can’t say enough about the space. Highly recommend!

  • My partner and I had a lovely time at Patrick's cottage. The location is simply stunning for anyone who would like to experience Connemara. The cottage is stylish and very cosy, something we appreciated after a long day out exploring. Self check-in is very handy and you will have all the necessary amenities. This is the first time I'm looking forward to come back to an Airbnb home. Thanks for everything!

    Catherine2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly recommend a stay at Cashleen Cottage! Every aspect was fantastic from start to finish. Sinead is a superb host and communication was excellent before and during our stay. She even made sure the kids had buckets and spades to use on the beach. The cottage is beautiful in a wonderful setting. Very modern with everything we needed for a week. We particularly enjoyed the rocky local beach and sandy Renvyle beach, and the ability to walk out the back of the house and up onto Tully Hill. We loved our stay (despite the rain!) and would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone. Thanks Sinead.

Huge house with everything you need, comfy beds, huge couch and all you need to hve a cozy time even when the weather is bad thanks to 11 giant velux windows that provides plenty of light even in the cold of February with two winter storms. Janet was the perfect host and made us feel very welcome from the start. The house is less than 4 hours from Dublin airport and once we arrived everything is very close by (supermarket, good pubs, beach etc.). We will definitely come back.

A wonderful, large 6 bedroom house with views onto Diamond Mountain. Set in a quiet location only a two minute walk to the Connemara National park and pubs, restaurants, shops in Letterfrack village. White sandy beaches only 3 miles from cottage.
The house has lovely views onto Diamond Mountain and is a two minute walk from Connemara National Park entrance and Letterfrack village with it's pubs, restaurants and shops. The village is very popular with tourists and locals alike with good restaurants and traditional Irish music in the pubs several nights a week all year round. The house is based on our Connemara Pony farm - guests are welcome to watch the ponies working in the arena and visit the stables.

  • We had a terrific stay at Carmel's place. We were 3 families, with kids aged from 2 to 13, everyone enjoyed the stay and immediate surroundings of the cottage. Plus, there is lots to do in the area, so it was a great place to base ourselves.

  • Jonathan’s place was perfect for a short getaway to the national park! Everything was as described and we loved our stay.

    Cassandra2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan’s place is a roomy, family-friendly, and perfect for large groups, with lots of space to spread out. The location is beautiful, with views of the Atlantic, and close to the National Park and any number of gorgeous beaches. Highly recommend for large groups with kids.

    Rebekah2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house for our group of 12, 6 adults and 6 kids and one of our best Irish holidays ever. The space in the house meant no one felt like there was 12 in the house for a week. It was very similar to the description given. We swam every day and even went to the end of the garden for a dip when the tide was in. We hope to book again. Thanks for everything.

    Orla2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Bayview House. It was everything we needed (3 families with 3 young babies) including travel costs, playroom and big kitchen and living rooms. The location was great; on the doorstep of the national park for walks, the abbey, supermarket, restaurant and coffee shop. Jonathan was a great host who was always available if we had any queries. We also swam in the lake at the house which was great. Very clean/ instant hot water/ all amenities/ plenty of bedrooms and showers etc All in all I would highly recommend for any large parties (including any with children).

    Timothy2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We visited as a party of three families, 6 adults and 5 children. The house perfectly accommodated is with rooms to spare. The huge dining table sat us all, and the different receptions meant we could have adult time while the children still played. The garden has a gate which leads directly to the waters edge, the children exhausted themselves playing hide and seek. Letterfrack is a lovely small village with a supermarket open until 10 and a couple of bars. The only restriction as mentioned in other reviews, is that you can’t really walk to the village centre, even though it’s only a few hundred metres, with children as it’s a reasonably busy road with no pavement until you get to the entrance of the country park (which is beautiful). It just meant we had to save money and buy our booze at the supermarket to have in the evening! Take a drive on the road around Lough Inah through the mountains and head for the beach at he northern end of Tully Cross, you won’t be disappointed. Galway took an hour and a half to get to, the airport was a similar distance (maybe 1 hour 45). Would definitely go back to this property.

  • A lovely house in picturesque part of Ireland, even had wild goats pay us a visit!! Plenty of room for all of us and very good facilities in the local village

    Evin2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, very functional accommodation, wonderfully located in Connemara and at the edge of Harbor. Food businesses nearby. Jonathan was a very friendly and responsive host .. We particularly recommend this accommodation

    Elisabeth2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in this house. It was perfect for our group of 12. All the beds were so comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone, including a large dining table for us all to enjoy a meal around. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking too. The house was warm when we arrived which was so nice. The views out the back of the house are stunning, and it is a stone's throw from the national park. There is no footpath for the first few minutes of the walk to the village, but with hi-vis and torches we felt fine. Overall it was a lovely place to stay. Highly recommended.

  • Geraldine’s cottage is in a fabulous location and surpasses the pictures .It is perfect for anyone who wants to switch off and get away from it all. The added bonus for us was we could take our dogs with us to enjoy Connemara also. Geraldine couldn’t of been more helpful . Loads to see and do in the area . We look forward to coming back soon .

  • Geraldine is a great host. We were badly delayed due to car trouble and she was incredibly accommodating. Communication was great before and during our stay. The house has everything you need and is in an incredibly beautiful location. I would highly recommend it.

    Avril2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real find! The spectacular views alone would make it worth the trip. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable, and gave a sense of being remote while also being a short drive from amenities and points of interest. Geraldine was so pleasant to deal with. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

  • Very nice surprise to find this cabin in the middle of Connemarra. The mattress is comfortable and has a heating blanket, very useful in September. The hostel is charming and atypical. A beautiful atmosphere of passing travelers emerges from the walls and is carried by the owner of the places very welcoming. The breakfast is a real plus. Otherwise 2 pubs / restaurants are located 5 minutes walk. To test !
