Amanda was a great host - always easy to contact and quick to respond with helpful answers. We were welcomed with home baking and other treats and helpful handwritten notes around the house with notes relating to how we could change things to suit our 3 year old. The house is just as pictured with lots of creative touches. We had awful weather but when the sun shone, it was lovely to be in the conservatory and great to be near the fire when it was horrible outside. We did some of the things Amanda recommended in her welcome pack and we came away feeling like we had a really relaxed and enjoyable time.

The cottage is gorgeous and the information booklet made us feel really welcome and ensured we didn't miss out on any of the great places to go and things to see in the local area. The view from the cottage is stunning and driving around to the local places of interest really shows you what a beautiful part of the country this is. Everywhere we went we were impressed by how friendly people were and def recommend the Barn for some lunch and the Kames for dinner and a few drinks :) Couldn't wait to get back in the evenings to chill out in front of the fire and admire the cool décor - will def be going back again next year .

We loved the cottage and the area. Well-equipped, comfortable and stylish, the house was perfect. We sat in front of the wood-burning stove, went for long walks on the beach and celebrated New Year in the Kilfinnan Hotel. Amanda was an extremely generous host - thanks for the goodies - and very easy to communicate with. We want to go back already.

This is a wee gem of a cottage, quirky, cosy and full of interesting art and an eye for design. We were able to relax and our dog loved having his own wee burn! Our only regret would be it wasn't as close to the coast as we expected but we would still come back!

We had a wonderful time in Scotland! The cottage is so beautiful within the nature. Amanda has decorated everything so lovely, you just feel like at home. From the bed you can see Loch Fyne and there are wonderful walks and things to do around the corner. Or you just enjoy your book in the beautiful garden. We loved our stay in Cowal and the cottage was the perfect home base. We enjoyed three comfortable bedsrooms, a beautiful glass sunporch to eat meals or bird watch, the woodstove on a rainy evening, and lots of beautiful walking and exploring! The house was well set up with everything we needed and Amanda was super easy to communicate with. She even left us an amazing little selection of local treats upon our arrival. Very much appreciated and highly recommended!

This is a wonderful cottage in a fantastic location on Argyll's secret coast. Myself and my partner Molly really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very well equipped with some quirky creative and design touches. There are great walks and places to visit nearby. Great beaches very close by for combing, wild life watching or swimming and a wonderful panorama of Loch Fyne. I would highly recommend staying at this cottage and Amanda was a very prompt and helpful host. Getting back to me whenever I had any queries about the facilities, directions etc and easy to contact.

Amanda went to amazing lengths to make us feel welcome which was totally unnecessary as the cottage is welcoming enough on it's own. A incredibly generous welcome basket and fully decorated Christmas tree was over and above! Lovely decor, incredibly cosy yet with its own trendy character and the most stunning setting. I miss it terribly having been back in London for a week.

An absolutely wonderful stay at Kilfinan Hotel. Our room was just lovely - big, light and beautifully decorated, with views across to the water - and we had a fabulous modern bathroom which looked newly refurbished. The fire was going in the bar when we arrived and we enjoyed a drink while talking to the delightful Madelon - she was incredibly helpful and lots of fun to chat too. The full breakfast the next morning was superb and we will definitely be returning.

The accommodation was lovely . Check in was easy and the hosts really helpful. The accommodation was incredibly clean and they had thought of everything one would need for a great stay . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing cabin in a beautiful location! Clean, great facilities and a hot tub on the deck. Went as a group of five friends for a mini break and it was bliss. No signal but there is wifi available so perfect if you want to go off grid for a few days. Take midgie spray or you'll be eaten alive

Cheap and cheerful. A nice secluded lodge with hot tub and view of the hills. Remember to bring bottled water and plenty of towels (especially if you are using the hot tub)

Excellent spot for a relaxing time with amazing local scenery. Would highly recommend. Bring your own towel and some supplies and kick back in the hot tub. Beach a short walk and tighnabruaich a short drive. Our dog and us loved the lot!

Nice cabin fully equipped with everything you would need for a short break. Cabin was clean enough & easy to find. Lovely view, hostess was pleasant on arrival & departure. Definitely would come back!

Fantastic stay! The photos really don't do justice of just how nice this house is! The host Nicola gave us a warm greeting on our arrival and then gave us our space to settle in and enjoy the house on our own. Perfect, as in previous places we have stayed this hasn't always been the case. Otter ferry truly is the perfect remote scenic get away, even though it is just 2 hours from Glasgow. We will defiantly be back!

We both had a lovely time at Nicola's cottage at Otter Ferry - she was a great host in the run-up and during our stay. The cottage is snug and perfect for a quiet retreat, loved building up the fire and curling up with each other, books and wine. The surroundings are blissful, and can recommend the Oystercatcher pub nearby for a pint and some food.

Nicola's immaculate country cottage-feel house is a little thing of beauty, cozy, luxurious and with some lovely touches for her guests. That she is an interior designer is plain to see, and her artwork is great and it's very nice to see it adorn the walls. This is a place to go if you want to get away from the world completely - I wasn't able to get on to wifi in the house but I know if I had asked Nicola she would have helped and to be honest I did not try more than a couple of times because its absence made our little break so much nicer. The view out of the bedroom window is idyllic and it's so peaceful to watch the flames of the woodburner in the evening with a nice choice of books to peruse. We had 2 very good meals in the area and the pub is just a skip away. The only thing we both wished is that we had had longer in this quiet little enclave of unspoilt beautiful Scotland. Nicola is a very friendly, helpful and lovely host.

This cottage is amazing and exactly as described. The furnishings are of high quality throughout. It is in a truly stunning location on the shore of Loch Fyne. Nicola went out of her way to make us feel welcome including making sure we had abundant provisions on our arrival, despite the unforeseen "no show" of the mobile shop earlier that morning. There was unlimited fuel for the wood-burning stove, and she lent us several items (eg maps, hot water bottle) to make our stay run smoothly. Throughout our 4 day stay Nicola was most helpful and even arranged for a trip to a nearby farm and cheese factory. The Oyster catcher pub is a short walk away and does great food.

A beautifully decorated, well equipped cottage set in outstanding scenery. Nicola welcomed us upon arrival & was at hand for any queries if we had, leaving us to enjoy four days of peaceful rest & relaxation in her beautiful retreat. A well equipped kitchen to cater for self, but with a pub just 5 minutes walk away that has recently been refurbished to a high standard & a good menu - there really was no need to cook. Great for dogs, lots of space to exercise & walks from the door.

Lovely stylish cottage, so peaceful, a real romantic escape. Nicola had thought of all the details to make the cottage feel so cosy, yet modern.

We had a really lovely stay at Nicola's place. The fire was burning when we arrived and the cottage was beautiful and very clean. We felt very at home and comfortable here. The location is great, looking out on to the water. There are lots of beautiful places to walk near the cottage and in the surrounding areas. There is also a cosy country pub at the end of the road. We hope to return in the summer.

Had a wonderful time in Hillview Cottage and learned that in such a beautiful place, with two fireplaces, gas cooking, warm water and lots of candles, electricity is something we didn’t even miss. Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful, thank you! We warmly recommend this cottage to everybody who wants to enjoy a holiday ‘off the beaten track’ (although there is of course a track which leads up to the house and can be used with a proper car, one which is not too low on the ground).

Hill view cottage is an outstanding getaway. The real fire kept us toasty in some very cold weather ovwe new year. The location is in one word outstanding. Incredibly beautiful. We and our two dogs had the most dreamy time. Communication was brilliant and information left for us came in very useful. We will be back

We had an absolutely wonderful time in this cottage which we booked for our honeymoon. It was quirky, rustic, romantic, unique, all of the things we were hoping for and to top it off had amazing views. The welcoming flowers, prosecco and card to congratulate us on getting married were an incredibly thoughtful touch. We love the bath too and the kitchen was well equipped. If you haven't got a 4 by 4 I would say it's maybe not the best place for those less able bodied or with buggies etc and for guests to being solid footwear for the path down from the main road as it can be skippy, and to bring midge repellant!

This is a beautiful place on earth. Views over the loch, in the middle of a forest but only a few kilometres to Tighnabruaich and Kames. We felt very welcome as Peter texted to check everything was OK on our arrival day. Plenty of wood for the stove and we found everything we needed. For us this was the perfect location to get away from crowded London; our dog could roam fee, swim in the stream or simply sit on the porch and watch the world (the squirrels) go by. A small conservatory makes it a wonderful place to read and see the weather changing; overlooking the loch. You will need to navigate a fairly steep track to get the car up to the cottage but well worth it! We visited beaches and walked in the forests and up the hills. Fantastically beautiful. And you will be spending you evenings in candle-light which makes the place feel magic. A special thanks to Peter and his family for renting out their lovely cottage; we are very grateful.

Great house and location - will be back!

This is a well appointed house with fantastic views in a charming, friendly village with a great restaurant just down the road. The upstairs living room/kitchen is light, airy and very spacious. A beautiful space for socialising. The view from the upstair window is gorgeous and the picture does not fully do it justice. The games room saved our lives on a few wet and windy days and is a superb idea. Great location for walkers and those who love the outdoors. Bedrooms a little functional but immaculately clean with the most comfortable beds.

The stay at Chuckie Brae Villa was just perfect. We were a party of 8 with two children (9 and 11) and there was plenty of space for all of us and the children had a great time in the game room and with all of the games and instruments provided. The house was very clean and elegant and the location is simply breathtaking. We loved the view on the Kyles of Bute! There is a big folder with suggestions for walks and restaurants etc which is very handy. Wholly recommended!

Great place. Very clean. Amazing kitchen living room space - was really great for the kids (2, 3 and 5 years old) - because of the horizontal rain during most of our stay. A beautiful view on the Kyles of Bute and on Bute north coast. I definitely would like to come back and cross to Bute using the canoe. Greg was very prompt to reply to all my messages and gave clear instructions for everything. He even provided an oven tray for us to be able to roast a turkey for our Christmas lunch.

Lovely, quiet area to stay in. The house has everything you need and more, we had great fun getting out and about on the bikes provided, just wished we were brave enough to take the canoes out. On arriving the outside of the building doesnt look very attractive however once you see past this it is fine.

Everything was as described in the listing. Communication with the owner was fast and friendly. Open plan loft living area is superb. Games room and bikes etc are a real bonus as well. Beautiful location.

I was given clear instructions on how to find the place and the extra equipment (Kayaks, Bikes and games room) were well used and appreciated. Victoria was an excellent host and gave very clear instructions and helpful advice in advance of our trip. The cottage is in a lovely location, a bit of a walk from the road so lovely and quiet. There are some great walks nearby and some nice places to eat within driving distance. Would visit again.

We stayed five nights at this wonderful cottage and enjoyed every moment. It is comfortable and well-equipped, even has broadband with wifi so you're not lacking anything. Access is a little tricky and ideally you need a 4x4 as I doubt a normal car will make it across the field, especially if it's wet, but Victoria's instructions were very clear and thorough. If you are after somewhere comfortable, secluded and peaceful, with spectacular views, and a cosy fireplace for chilly evenings then you can't go wrong with this one!

The cottage is in a perfect, peaceful location with an amazing view of Asgog Loch. The cottage itself is very well equipped and very comfortable. Victoria was a great help providing us with lots of useful information just before our trip. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway :D

Excellent stay at Victoria's cottage - beautiful spot and all the communication was great - if you get good weather at the cottage its absolute bliss!

Victoria's cottage is a brilliant little hide-away where you can get away from everything and relax. It has everything you need for a quiet break and is on the path of the Cowal Way if you fancy a walk. The best part was definitely the log fire which makes the cottage really cosy, especially in the evening. A wee gem of a place.

Our stay at the cottage could not have been better. Victoria provided superb communication, the cottage was lovely and clean and we enjoyed the open fireplace very much. We had everything we needed, and only the sheep for neighbours which was exactly what we had wanted! The cottage is quite remote, which was perfect, exactly what we were after and very peaceful. We arrived in the dark because we were running late, but even walking across the field in the pitch black Victoria's directions and instructions were so good that we found the cottage with no problem at all! And it added to the whole experience. We would love to come back again, thanks Victoria for such a good stay.

Victoria was a great host - very responsive and sent us lots of information about the cottage and area. The cottage itself is absolutely lovely (clean, cosy and very nicely decorated) and the view from the deck is to die for - so peaceful! The area - Argyll's Secret Coast - is beautiful and not very touristy. Would definitely recommend!

Food was fab and a very friendly welcome plus super comfortable rooms.

Our stay with Leoma and Michael was great, what an entrepreneurial couple! Both were there to greet us and we were shown the accommodation together with somewhere that we could leave our bicycles. The accommodation was just as described; fresh, clean and bright and quite contemporary in decor. Leoma was happy to suggest places that we could go to for food and drinks. Botanica , their own restaurant, was closed on that particular evening. We were in a lovely situation, close to the shore and to a wee run of shops should you want to buy goods or gifts. Picturesque walks all around. Very quiet overnight, only the babbling burn nearby. Delicious breakfast served in the restaurant in the morning to finish off what was a very comfortable stay.

Trying to be brief... let's start negative (since Botanica is primarily restaurant and secondarily lodgings): restaurant's a bit noisy and the cappuccino not very good. That's it!!! Everything else was splendid. If Botanica/Tighnabruaich were a bit less remote, I'd recommend this place to everyone I know. Food really good. Room really comfy. Leoma and staff really friendly -- and tolerant of my odd sense of humor. EXCELLENT. If you have a chance, don't pass it up.

Had a lovely stay at the Botanica Rooms. Our room was really nice decorated and had everything we needed. Leoma was a great host and looked after us really well. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was amazing and service was really good. Would really recommend the restaurant and the rooms.

Lovely hosts welcomed us to a wonderful, calming place to visit with beautiful beaches and activities nearby. A very comfortable stay for our little family. Don't miss the fresh delicious breakfasts and dinners in their relaxed restaurant with freshly baked bread and foraged and local fare. Spot local residents who have set up home in their fish tank and admire the lovely unique art on the walls too by the chef-owner's brother :) x A treasured family endeavour - we will be back soon please!

We could't have asked any more from Botanica! Lovely hosts with great communication, incredible food and a great room. It was a last minute booking, the restaurant was fully booked, but Leoma kindly managed to provide a table for us. Michael prepared a platter, as foodies we loved it: A fresh selection of sea food, immaculately prepared and presented, with a great selection of beers to wash it down. Breakfast was cracking too, we couldn't fault anything. Tighnabruich is beautiful, Botanica is highly recommended, go and enjoy it... you're in safe hands for sure. Friendly welcome, delicious food and lovely rooms.

Leoma made us feel so welcome, she was warm and friendly and obviously cared a great deal about her guests and her rooms. This is a new venture for her and I am sure she will do really well. The room had a lovely feeling, really good size with a large en-suite bathroom and double shower. The room has been tastefully furnished and decorated, everything is new, fresh and squeaky clean! We were given a jug of fresh milk for our tea and coffee in the room. The really nice thing is that our room and the adjacent room had their own front door on the ground floor and we could come and go as we pleased. Even better is the fabulous restaurant Botanica, owned by Leoma and her partner Micheal who is the Chef, which is in the same building just a minute walk around the corner. Breakfast is in the restaurant cooked by Micheal, it was excellent. Served up with Sunday morning papers already on the table. Very relaxed atmosphere and plenty of very tasty coffee. Tighnabruaich is a beautiful place and Botanica rooms and restaurant are in a fabulous setting by the sea, the Kyles of Bute. We are going back up this weekend and are looking forward to our dinner in Botanica!
