Nice quiet place in historic town. Loved the country atmosphere. All the amenities if home were close at hand. Though we didn't see Steve and jane they were close by if we needed anything. Thanks very much for the loft we will be back!

We had a cozy and relaxing night away at Steve and Jane's Blacksmith Loft. The space was just as expected, clean and bright and a warm/cozy space with the fireplace. The hosts were welcoming and then left us to enjoy our down time. The only thing of note is the property is quite close to the road (which is not really busy), but if you're a light sleeper you can hear traffic (or horse carriages!!) go by. We would return again for more... so much to explore in the area!

The facility was clean and well cared for.

The loft was a lovely space - just as it looks in the photos. The town is very quiet but there is a great gourmet grocery store just down the street with amazing meats and cheeses and it's a 3 minute drive to St Jacobs. The owners live next door but provide plenty of privacy. Good to know: wifi is spotty.

My boyfriend and I spent New Year's Eve at the loft and enjoyed our time there. A great escape for relaxation! The place was clean and checking in was smooth. Thank you Steve and Jane!

Maria and Fred are fantastic. I'm not recommending them because I'm selfish...I want the place to myself. Seriously you've got to stay there if you are visiting Waterloo. The experience is one of a kind and top notch hospitality.

I am almost loathe to disclose even a cursory description of my experiences at Maria and Fred's place - because it is bound to unleash a torrent of trekkers from Toronto and beyond! However, anyone who is appreciative of true generosity, aesthetics reflecting great thought, time and character, warmth and quick humour, wonderful strong coffee and even more wonderful and thought provoking conversation...will find kindred souls and an experience worthy of an annual tradition.

It was such a pleasure staying with Fred and Maria- if you ever need to be in the KW area, they should be your first consideration!

I would have to agree with the other reviews. Absolutely amazing. Fred and Maria are great hosts. They have a beautiful home and made us feel welcomed as soon as we arrived. When you're there it feels like you are in the middle of the country but you really are just a short drive to everything. Hopefully we will get the chance to stay with them again the next time we are in the area.

Our hosts, Fred and Maria, were very warm and welcoming. The charm of this Airbnb exceeded our hopes and expectations. Indeed, it has been exquisitely renovated to the latest modern standards and comforts, all the while preserving the nostalgia of yesteryear in the authentic walls of the original old log structure. All of the rooms were impeccably clean and beautifully decorated and maintained. No doubt due to the rural setting, the wifi signal in the bedroom isn't strong; however, with do much beauty around, you wouldn't miss it unless you're a connectivity addict! The rural landscape is lovely and the gypsy horses and other animals are delightful. We will definitely be repeat guests and are already looking forward to our next stay.

Fred & Maria's multigenerational home and farm was an amazing place to stay. From beginning to end, they and their family and friends did a lot to make our stay feel special! When we arrived, Fred & Maria were out of town, but their friends and daughter took care of us, letting us in and showing us around. Having heard it was our 5th wedding anniversary, their daughter left us flowers and chocolate on the bed! Later on, we got a tour of the farm from Fred & Maria's granddaughter, who introduced us to all of the chickens, cows, and horses. The space itself was gorgeous: it truly has the rustic feeling of an old log cabin. The bedroom was certainly large enough to be comfortable in, the bathroom was extremely clean with a nice shower, and the kitchen was huge and beautiful! We love to cook, and it was a pleasure to have access to a nice gas stove, a coffee machine that grinds beans on demand, and farm-fresh milk and eggs! Fred & Maria themselves were also charming. We got to meet them when they came back from their trip, and it was like chatting with old friends. We have a bit of a skewed idea of how close the house is to things since we were cycling rather than driving, but we can say that it's only a 45 minute bike ride from the Kitchener GO Station (and a very pleasant one at that; there are bike trails almost the entire route), and equally close to Elmira (where we went to the maple syrup festival). The ride to the St. Jacob's farmer's market was also pleasant, and even the country roads often had broad shoulders or even explicitly marked bicycle lanes. We loved our stay on the farm, and will definitely try to book this space next time we come out for a country bike trip. :)

My stay was for business purposes. My 3rd stay and surely more to come. Need I say more? They were meant to host/ess. Their friendship, kindness is better than one could hope for. I truly feel I've made new friends and am eager to introduce my husband. Their home and farm are also beautiful. Congratulations on the birth of the calf on...what better day than...Mother's Day. We enjoyed our stay with Pix, she was a great host and her breakfasts were delicious. Her house is very close to St Jacobs village, so very easy to walk around.

My sisters and I stayed at Quilted Comfort B&B for a weekend. We could not have been more pleased. Pix's home is beautiful and her breakfasts were spectacular. The location was great and we were able to walk to restaurants and shops in Saint Jacobs. I highly recommend Quilted Comfort and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Stop! You must try this exceptional 6 star ☆☆☆☆☆ B & B. Put it your bucket list. Incredible hostess who has a talent for making you feel right at home. She is a baker and quilt maker with an amazing heart. Wake up in the morning to fresh baked goods for breakfast and the road. Fresh cut fruit, smoothies etc. Rooms are warmly decorated with fresh cut flowers and home made quilts. Enjoy a wonderful massage if it fits your schedule as the hostesses daughter is a registered massage therapist. We were down on business for the spring Home Hardware show and we were walking distance from the show. Our hostess assisted us with our booth in offering flooring and stools. Highly recommended and excellent value. ☆☆☆☆☆

Bobby and Mike's place was very clean and inviting! We loved how charming it was and tastefully decorated! The area was nice and quiet with ample parking and very close to the center of the town. We will happily return again when an opportunity arises.

We enjoyed our stay at Bobbi's and Mike's. It was very quiet and cosy. The quiche for breakfast 2 of the mornings was a very thoughtful and unexpected treat as well! :) This was what we were a bit surprised by - there was some noise and smells (during mealtime) that came into the suite under the doorway (It's apparent they also live onsite). We didn't realize we'd be so close to them and it kind felt like we were invading their privacy (if we can hear them, they can hear us mentality). The spot is definitely beautiful and lots of wonderful details have been thought out (movies, coffees, fruit and juice!) - the spot is just not very conducive to a romantic weekend away. Aside from that, they were GREAT hosts and I highly recommend to anyone who wants a cosy, restful stay out of the city.

We had a great time at Bobbi and Mike's place. Based on their listing, we expected to really enjoy our stay and we did! Everything was exactly as described. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth and Bobbi was readily available if we needed to contact her. We had no concerns though because she thought of everything! The quiche that was prepared for us for breakfast was delicious and it was a great way to start our day. We were very comfortable during our entire stay and the free parking spot was much appreciated. We would definitely stay there again.

Small, clean and perfectly located, this period home is in the heart of historic St. Jacobs, very close to restaurants, shopping and old world charm. We were in town for a volleyball tournament being hosted nearby. Although we were only on site to re-charge after long days of competition, Bobbi and Mike's place suited our needs perfectly. Bobbi made sure to enhance our stay by treating us to a delightful refrigerated breakfast each day, and arranged to replenish towels, refresh the kitchen and re-stock the fridge in the time we were away. We hope to take advantage when the tournament time rolls around again next year.

Bobbi was a great host. She was very responsive to messages and her place was fantastic. It was well decorated and an amazing location. Everything you'd want to do in St Jacobs is easily within walking distance. Will definitely be returning.

Bobbi and Mike were very friendly and welcoming. I especially appreciated the food surprises that were waiting when I returned each evening. Having an excellent coffee shop right across the road was a treat. No cable TV (as advertised) so got through many episodes of Suits on Netflix and was spared endless coverage of the US election. I would definitely stay again...

The suite was very clean. It had a nice deck to sit on while streaming playoff hockey games. Mike provided some local details that helped me to take advantage of the great weather. Would definitely stay here again.

Marni is a great person, very patient and accommodating to me messing up with my AirBnb schedule. Nice clean home, pleasant and quiet neighbourhood, great location in north Waterloo. Definitely hope to be back on next work contract.

My experience with Marni was beyond superb! Marni took a last minute reservation which I am very grateful. We never met in person and communicated solely via text messages. Through our text messages, I felt the warmth of her personality and her text messages even made me feel like I was speaking to a friend as oppose to an unfamiliar airbnb host. She ensured that I was okay with the arrangements, getting settled in and frequently checked in. The house is beautiful, colorful, clean and most importantly made me feel right at home. My keywords to her was "cozy". Upon arrival, the room was nicely and neatly prepped. I received towels, extra blankets, bottle water and she even left a small heater to use in case the room got cold. How thoughtful as we go through the difficult Waterloo temperatures. Hot one day and cold another! We can never tell! Also, I must say the bed is super comfortable! It almost felt like sleeping in my own bed or even a high end hotel bed. With that said, I fully recommend other airbnb travelers to stay here. You won't regret the pleasant and easy experience. I'm look forward to coming back in future!!

We really loved the Walnut Hill cabin, it has a unique atmosphere; cozy and welcoming. We had a lovely campfire in the yard at night, and in the evening we arrived had great conversation with Esther. Wish we could have stayed for longer!

A wonderful stay at Joseph & Esther's beautiful cabin on Walnut Hill. Esther welcomed us so warmly! The cabin is spacious with a vaulted wood ceiling. Windows & deck overlooking a wooded pond area with path to the fields behind the home. Very comfortable loft bed upstairs and Queen bed downstairs. Cozy gas fireplaces, too! Esther left us a fruit bowl and local homemade bread & farm fresh eggs for breakfast! Perfect spot for birdwatching (and seeing the odd horse & buggy, too!) One of our top stays on Airbnb.

Walnut Hill Cabin is a wonderful Place, very quiet, very comfortable, made with love. We enjoyed our short stay very much. Thank you very much. Esther stood already at the door and gave us a warm welcome. So we felt at once like at home. We understood also her German very good because it is very similar to the German spoken in the southern Part of Germany. If we have possibility to come once again to Canada we like to come to this Place again, that's for us like a little bit Paradise.

Walnut cottage was beautiful, theres a lovely private grove of trees that our son loved. The location is great, close drive to st jacobs market and lots of great walks. The cottage was fantastic and Joseph and Esther made us very welcome.

My friends and I were in town for a festival that ran throughout the weekend and Mike and Sarah were kind enough to open their home to accommodate us. The stay was very pleasant, and it had everything you needed to feel like home. Don't be fooled by the pictures, but this place was a lot bigger than expected. I would highly recommend staying here if you have a family of 4 or more.

Mike & Sarah's place is very neat and homey. The house has very quiet neighbourhood. We enjoy watching DVD in the basement, the host provided us with ideal movies for children. My little brother had a great time. Sarah is very responsive. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Sarah and Mike were exelentes hosts, always attentive to what we needed , the perfect home with everything you need for an excellent stay , large rooms, well equipped kitchen , exelentes bathrooms , internet fast , the courtyard of the house as better with large space for barbecue grill , very well located close to everything, highway , supermarket , walmart , pharmacy, etc , and in a beautiful and very quiet with a park for children street , I recommend this place 100 % and definitely would be here if we return to Waterloo, Sarah and Mike thanks for everything.

Sarah and Mike's home was perfect for our family Christmas holiday. The house is clean, comfortable and very well equipped for extended stays. Public transit, shopping and the St. Jacobs market is a short walk away.
