  • Jennifer’s cabin is impeccable!!!! Absolutely lovely location, nice and quiet. The jacuzzi was perfect for relaxing and very steamy in the cool night air! Everything was clean, organized, perfect amount of kitchen cooking tools/supplies. Perfect for a weekend getaway! I would love to return in the summer to visit the local lake.

  • Randall and Amy are by far the most gracious hosts we've encountered through AirBnb. They were thoughtful and considerate with small touches for us and even a yummy bone for our dog. They told us about local events, activities and places of interest. The house was cozy, clean and we loved the privacy. The neighborhood/community was friendly and welcoming as well. Randall and Amy are fantastic communicators and provided us with a wonderful get a way. We are looking forward to another visit asap!

  • The house was perfect for a private cozy getaway. Sue made us feel so welcomed and informed. Plus the hot tub!! I only wish we could’ve checked in sooner and enjoyed our new favorite cabin even longer. I will absolutely be going back and you should too.

  • Good place to get away and detach from the world, very warm and cozy place. Between ice castles, snowmobiling, and snow tubing were all in traveling distance

    Alex2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing weekend I had. We got to cabin and met Sue and Jeff as they were just finishing cleaning and getting things ready for our stay. The cabin is perfect, so spacious and clean! The area is quiet, but it is on a dirt road and up a hill and 4x4 would be recommended in the winter. It’s close enough to a moderate size town for any essentials or food you forgot to pack but far enough to feel like you’re in the mountains. We will be visiting here again!

    Cory2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Jesse's place was amazing! So clean, so cozy, and so welcoming. He made it so easy, with clear instructions and very quick responses to any questions we had. We didn't have cell-phone reception there, but we didn't even mind! The books, the the games, the views, and the atmosphere was more than we could have asked for. Plus, we had the WiFi if we needed anything. 10/10 would recommend, and we plan on returning next year, but for longer.

    Richard2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We thank Brooke for her wonderful welcome. Brooke answered our questions very well and within a reasonable time. Plan to do the grocery shopping before, as the amenities are rather far away. The accommodation is very beautiful and the kitchen is very complete. We keep a very good memory, thank you again!

  • Very nice stay with 5 people. We couldn’t use our phones that weekend and I thought that was nice. Would definitely recommend

    Viviane2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures of the house do not do it justice. Walking into the house I was surprised by the cleanliness, organization and beauty of the house. I loved the windows and the loft area. Kerry also included a binder with a great deal of information, which is especially helpful without service. My friends and I actually enjoyed the limited service, which was unexpected. There is a landline for any emergencies as well. Kerry was a great host with immediate communication and a lot of patience. Could not have asked for a better place!

    Kaylee2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome, affordable, spacious, clean. Close to the ice castles and Loon. We didn’t mind the lack of cell reception as there was a landline we could use. So many movies to choose from! Comfortable beds, adequate kitchen utensils. So much natural light, gorgeous views. We took a walk in the backyard which abutted a stunning marsh like area with some evidence of Recent beaver activity and 2 dams! We will be back again next time we visit the area!

    Ashley2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy chalet, close to stores and restaurants. Kerry was quick with her responses!

    Phanny2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay!

    Lil2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Four of my friends and I booked this airbnb to spend the weekend in New Hampshire- and what better to celebrate an early thanksgiving than to have our friendsgiving dinner in this tranquil chalet. We all loved it and thought the place was beautiful. It’s very private and quiet, and you feel very close with nature: the only thing you can hear is the wind and the birds in the morning. It looked even more beautiful as we lucked out with a blanket of snowfall to make our stay all the more better. The limited service was not an issue for us at all. There was a landline phone available If we needed to make any important calls. Overall, great!

  • *5 Stars* Jade and Joe were the perfect hosts! Beautifully restored historical country home located on a huge piece of farm land, where there was so much to do. Downtown Bradford was a stone-throw away and full of places to eat and shop. Also a great scenic drive to Loon Mountain. What I loved most were the scenic views of the fields and woods from all sides of the house, including a fantastic view of Mt. Washington from the back porch. I also had the pleasure of meeting Joe and his family's awesome dog Max; Joe's an absolute genuine guy who not only made us feel at home, but did not hesitate to offer his assistance with anything to make stay more enjoyable. My family was sad to leave after only a couple of days, which is why we definitely plan on booking here again for a longer stay. Thank you again Jade and Joe, your home is an absolute Gem! P.S. - My dog had SO much fun tapping into his wild side, exploring, and playing with the neighbor's extremely friendly pups. He was absolutely exhausted.

    Sean2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jade's place was great. We had plenty of room to relax in the house with plenty to do to keep us busy and not bored. We had a great time exploring outside in the fields and sledding in the snow. It felt like we were home and didn't have to worry about anything.

    Jamie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing house would come back, it's super clean and comfortable has everything you need

    Karen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

    Jeannine2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t regret staying here, definitely in the top three locations we have stayed in. The house is perfect for a bigger group, and the space outside is breathtaking.

    Elizabeth2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very nice, clean and quaint. Also a nice quiet location. Would highly recommend.

    Paul2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely pristine spot in the Vermont countryside. This trip was our second stay at the location, and once again, the hosts and location do not disappoint. Thank you again for the wonderful stay, and we will certainly be back!

    Carson2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough positive things about this place! The view is breathtaking, the land & the house offer so much to do. It is all the seclusion you want with all the amenities but town isn’t too far away ether. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer, but we will be back!

Idyllic, serene waterside cottage. The setting is tranquil, private and quiet with a westerly facing deck, uniquely perched over the 32 acres of spring-fed, trout stocked-water, perfect for romantic sunsets. The detailed cottage is comfortable and bright, with a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for 2 people. Relax, read, fish, listen to the loons - a perfect get-away where you can completely unplug. Great hiking in the area. Place has great reviews from previous guests. Look up "Waterside Cabin"
The water is great for kayaking. There is a boat launch two door down if you chose to bring your own boats.
  • Amazing place, would visit again any time!

    Caroline2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay and really enjoyed the space - our only complaint was that we wished there were just a few more window coverings, particularly for the door into the bedroom. It was a little unsettling that someone could walk up to that door and look right in, the sliding doors could also use some drapery or something since the deck is accessible from the side of the house and someone could look in from back there. This may just be a couple of city people getting spooked out in the woods, but it would have given us a little more peace of mind. Other than that, the space was great and we enjoyed being fully off the grid. We couldn't pick up signal until we drove all the way back to 93 - and we loved that! Finding the road was no trouble, but the driveways were kind of tricky to figure out in the dark so just be weary. We didn't realize that it split into 3 right away so we got a little confused. We had a great stay in this cozy spot and really enjoyed! Thanks Deda!

    Gina2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Deda’s place was amazing! It was just what I needed. I felt in touch with nature and at peace. This place was absolutely perfect

    Erin2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for peace and quiet, the waterside cabin is the place to go! My husband and I had a great few days unplugging from the world (there is literally ZERO cell phone coverage within quite a few minutes of the cabin...but that is all clearly stated in the listing.) We had one full day in the area and had a fun filled day exploring parts of Franconia State Park (about a 30 minute drive away). Flume Gorge was beautiful and an easy enough hike for me at 6 months pregnant. We also did the Cannon Mountain Tramway and stopped off the highway to see the Basin. All of it was so beautiful, especially with all the changing colors of the leaves on the trees. There were a lot of restaurants in the town nearby the area we hiked (both Woodstock and Lincoln. We enjoyed eating at the Common man restaurant in Lincoln!) We very much enjoyed heating the cabin with the wood burning stove. Deda said that heat was being installed in the cabin in the next week or so, but we were totally fine with the wood burning stove and the warm bedding. The only minor setback is that we bought groceries to cook dinner at the cabin the first night, and then found out afterwards that the oven wasn't working. After talking to Deda, we were able to get the gas turned on to turn on the stove top but the oven was broken. Deda said that was supposed to have been fixed, but whoever was fixing it hadn't done what they were supposed to yet. It was just unfortunate because we didn't know before we had bought the groceries to cook. It all worked out though, and we very much enjoyed our time at the cabin.

    Lauren2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Deda was very accommodating. She provided water to get us started. Good thing, we didn't end up bringing enough! There was a great binder that we lived by. It included local sights, restaurants, and many other recommendations. It was an amazing unplugged stay. I recommend bringing slippers and a good book to enjoy! Thank you Deda for everything!

    Victoria2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary during a long weekend getaway to the White Mountains. Deda’s place was absolutely perfect! It was so cute and was just as pictured. We brought our kayaks and the water on the pond was perfect for kayaking; we could even put in right from the dock which was a huge bonus. We spent so much time utilizing the deck over the water, it was such a beautiful view especially during the sunrise & sunset. Dedas place was so well stocked with all of the essentials which made it very easy to cook our own food and enjoy the scenery. The place was very clean and I would absolutely stay here again!

    Emily2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is set beside a beautiful and peaceful large pond/small lake. Comfortable bedding, hot shower, and clean space. All the touches of remote NH without roughing it!

    Greg2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet place to take a break from the modern world. We had a wonderful time. Beautiful lake view and amazing local hikes close by. Awesome amenities available to you, water, coffee, and even candles for the patio. This place was a gem. Thank you again for the hospitality Deda!

Fun themed bedroom in our home with twin bed on a quiet residential street. Lots of storage, comfortably quirky. Great for long-term stays; weekly/monthly discounts available. Check out our reviews and *other rooms* too! It's also the perfect springboard for foliage, hiking, day trips and more! OR you may just want to stay and enjoy our huge backyard with firepit, sledding, a swing and VIEWS. Extra bedding with floor pad available; our twin floor mattress may be available to reserve instead.
This is our home... we love it and according to most we keep it reasonably tidy. At the same time, we lead rich lives and try not to stress if things get backed up now and then. Rest assured that our listing rooms and linens are always cleaned before the arrival of each new guest. Same goes for the guest bathroom upstairs-- however, it is a shared space and may at any time reflect some use! If we're around, please let us know if it needs attention; if not, there are cleaning supplies in the hall closet just outside the bathroom :) Our kitchen is not the main focus of the listing; if you choose to use it, please note that it is awaiting renovation. It still has full functionality. PLEASE NOTE: If you book within 24 hours of arrival, we may not be able to clean your room until the late afternoon. You are still welcome to arrive as early as 1 p.m. and use the facilities.
Beautiful tree-lined street with plenty of space between houses, kind neighbors and very little traffic. Walking distance to town with all amenities including restaurants (most close by 8 or 9 p.m.), library, churches, shops and basic groceries. Large supermarket, drug store and other churches and stores within 2 miles, including the famous Farm-Way outdoor outfitters, gift shop and more. There are also several parks in Bradford: Elizabeth’s Park... Huge playground that families come from miles around to enjoy. Denny Park... Gazebo and green space in the middle of downtown with views of the White Mountains. Boch Park... Also downtown on Main Street, overlooks the dam on the Waits River and its beautiful waterfall!
  • Don, Jennifer, and their daughter are all lovely, nice people. Check-in was simple and easy. We were only there for less than 24 hours but it was a great place to crash for the night, the house was quiet and it was easy to get a good night’s sleep! We would’ve loved to stay longer. Thank you to the hosts! There was a dog staying in the room next to us, so it’s super cool that they allow people to travel along with their beloved pets :)

  • What a great spot. Our family of 3 stayed for 9 days, and couldn’t have been more comfortable. Cookware, cutlery, whatever you might need to cook at home was there. Nice big fridge and freezer, hot showers with good pressure, fresh towels, great bedding. BTW the bed is super comfortable, as is the couch. We were plenty warm, slept and ate well, and enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful spot. Amy watched out for us with the winter weather, and plowed whenever needed so we could get out easily. You won’t regret staying here :) Great experience.

  • Peaceful and quiet, clean house, stocked kitchen, comfy bed, beautiful woods, kind host, couldn’t have had a more of perfect getaway!

  • We loved this place. Absolutely beautiful surroundings nestled in the Vermont mountains.

    Thomas2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s home was a perfect weekend getaway in Vermont. It had everything you need and allowed for a more off the grid experience, which was exactly what we were looking for! Amy even came by on the morning of our last day to say we could stay a little longer than checkout. Very kind of her! I would definitely recommend it to couples or a small group of friends who want to disconnect for a weekend and enjoy the surroundings. Certainly hope to stay there again!

    Matt2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amy was an incredible host. Leading up to my trip she offered to stock up the fridge and told me about restaurants that people tend to like when they visit. I also saw a ton of moose which was really cool cause I’ve never seen one before.

    Aaron2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night in Amy's cozy house in the beautiful hills of Vermont. The house itself is very well equipped -- including a fully-furnished kitchen -- and Amy is kind enough to put some food in the fridge beforehand for our breakfast! The living room is spacious, yet cozy, and very comfortable. Our one issue was that Amy doesn't check her messages in the afternoon or evenings (which, to be fair, she does warn about). Nothing serious happened, but we had a minor issue and tried to contact her when we arrived at around 4pm but we got no response until the next morning, which was too late. However, she was very kind in her response and felt very bad about what had happened (which again was not very serious). Apart from this, we loved our stay and hope to make it back some day!

  • It was such a great peaceful stay. The cottage was super warm and homey. Norwich and Hanover are only a short drive away. Highly recommend the Tavern in Lyme. Amy went above and beyond to ensure to stock the kitchen perfectly. Amy and her dog Goose were very welcoming. It is the perfect place to stay when visiting Vermont and New Hampshire.

Near hiking, fishing, and skiing. Guests can enjoy large bedrooms with private bathrooms en suite. (Ask the host about accommodations for kids and large groups.) There's a swing/playground set, pond, fireplaces, barbecue, and gardens. Kitchen available 24/7. Host resides in one wing of the house. The house is very large (7,000 sq ft). There are six VERY friendly dogs in the house. Please do not consider this listing unless you like dogs.
The house is large enough for groups to hold meetings, receptions, or workshops. But it's also a home, with plenty of small spaces for writers and artists to work undisturbed. There are large lawns, a stream, a pond, and kids' play equipment. Your host is flexible! Guests have ranged in age from 6 months to 90 years!
There's an orchard less than a mile away, with pick-your-own blueberries and apples, lots of activities for kids, and a great cafe for breakfast and lunch. Hiking trails are nearby on Black Mountain and a short drive to the White Mountains and Appalachian Trail. There are working farms close by, too, and wildlife are often seen on the property and in the neighborhood.
  • Perfect Airbnb, Maria and her dogs are all very welcoming! Beautiful house and garden. I highly recommend this place.

  • Maria is a gracious host. We love dogs, so her friendly pups were an added treat during our stay. Maria also provided a great recommendation to a local cafe for breakfast that served the best fresh apple cider donuts. We arrived late at night and left early in the morning, so we didn't have a lot of time to enjoy the entire home. But the bedrooms, bathrooms and overall accommodations were perfect for our stay. We will love visiting again when the snow starts to fall in NH :-)

  • A beautiful house with spacious rooms and private bathrooms. The property is gorgeous with a brook and pond to swim. Maria is a very hospitable host ready to help and give a piece of advice. It is a paradise for dogs and their owners. The place is very close to White Mountain National Forest that has an infinite number of hiking trails and scenic vistas.

  • Maria's place is a lovely gem located in the forest with spacious rooms. Maria is also a great local know-how for our traveling purpose. We enjoyed the conversation and shared loud laughters, while my daughter had a good time with Maria's dogs family. Thank you Maria, we'll be back when time is right :)

A quiet location in the country, we’re located 25 minutes from Hanover NH, Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, as well as Vermont Law School and many summer camps such as the Aloha Camps, Camps Farnsworth, Billings and Lochearn. Located right around the corner is the Pema Osel Do-ngak Choling Buddhist retreat. There are two local hiking trails: The Cross-Rivendell and Appalachian Trails; two large lakes: Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey.
This house was the original one-room schoolhouse converted into a residence.
This neighborhood is very rural. One would want to appreciate being away from it all.

  • You’re in the wilderness! It’s very off the grid and a great place for some true relaxation. The backyard is perfect for your dog to stretch their legs! The house boast lovely rustic decor with beautiful windows that face the mountains. The house had everything you need for cooking (including spices!) and had a great oven/stove top. I truly can’t speak enough on how wonderful our stay was.

  • This was our second stay here at this beautiful little (but big) cabin. So peaceful and quiet. If you’re looking to get out and relax in the woods this property has great little trails that surround the property for peaceful nature walks. You may not have cell service but to have high speed internet in the middle of nowhere is a pleasant surprise and most welcome. There’s a even a hot tub that my girlfriend always looks forward to. We will be back for a third time sometime this summer and fall.

    Eric2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED the Bow House. I cannot believe we got the entire place to ourselves for the price we paid, we were blown away. They also included so many additional amenities, we basically only had to bring food and clothes. The house is beautiful, the views are great, and the hot tub was marvelous. We basically were just pretending we lived there for a night, what a dream! Thank you so much for sharing your great space with us. We hope to be back!

    Brittany2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful getaway in Vermont — an adorable bow house, nestled into the woods with great views. If you’re looking for a great place to get into the wilderness for a bit, (or find some snow on the ground, in our case!) this is it!

  • The Bow house is the perfect Vermont retreat. Rustic with all the comforts of home. Jen and Colin have everything you’ll need for your stay. The house is cozy with beautiful views. Our dogs loved curling up by the woods stove. We might make this a yearly stay of ours, that’s how much we loved it!

We will absolutely be staying here again!

  • This was such a wonderful cabin to stay at. It was very homey and wonderfully surprised how stocked the kitchen and spice cabinet was! Plenty of things to do inside for entertainment if it's too cold to go out! Andrea was wonderful in communicating promptly and answered all my questions! Her cabin was tucked away far enough that it was peaceful and serene, away from all the traffic, but close enough to stores like Walmart and Shaw's if we needed anything. I highly recommend this cabin and would love to come back here again 😊

Come stay at our comfy house on the edge of the picturesque village of Newbury, Vermont. We're surrounded by hundreds of acres of woods and extensive flower gardens. The pond is wonderful for swimming in July and August. You'll have the first floor pretty much to yourselves, except for the kitchen, which is shared. For breakfast, we offer coffee, tea, juice, fruit and English muffins with homemade raspberry jam.
Our guest room is off the mudroom away from the rest of the house. It looks out into the woods and back garden. It's very quiet and secluded - and has a comfy king size bed. It has a TV with Roku for Spectrum or Amazon streaming. We built the house 32 years ago and the house and gardens have been our hobby ever since. We love sharing it all with others.
Newbury is right on the Vermont, New Hampshire border, so the village has views of the Connecticut River and the White Mountains. Our house is at the end of a short dirt road within the village limits. We are secluded and surrounded by woods, but just a minute drive down into the village. There is a great village store in town that has all kinds of good food.
  • This home felt like home. The gardens are as spectacular as they look in the pictures and Louise and Marv are the loveliest. Coming from NYC where it is hard to slow down, this was the place I could finally relax. The dog is adorable, the swimming spot is really special and Louise's raspberry jam should be famous.

    Frances2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Louise’s place was clean, homey and surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees. The room was spacious for 2 and bed really comfortable. She took the time to set up coffee and breakfast in the morning which was much appreciated given our early hiking trip. It takes about half an hour to get to the nearest 4000-footer in the white mountains (Mt Moosilauke) and the nearby black mountain made a short and sweet hike as well. Overall it’s got everything (and more!) we looked for for our long weekend. Highly recommend!!

    Qiuyi2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Marv are lovely people, and the space is beautiful. It's located within walking distance of the town green and the town's general store, but is sufficiently off-the-beaten path to feel like you're really getting away from everything. This is an "old-school" airbnb experience, where you actually get to meet and connect with your hosts, which IMO is the real attraction of airbnb. We ended up sharing dinner with them, talking about our respective children, the state of Vermont, and lots of other stuff. Wonderful stay!

    Mark2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Louise is a great host, and has a beautiful place surrounded by a gorgeous garden and a fun little swimming hole

    Hagay2019-08-04T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful, peaceful place. The gardens, yard, and woods are very special. The bedroom and guest living area are comfortable and restful. You will not find better than this.

    Susan2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Marv were amazing hosts , very warm people and Rayney was just so excited and a nice dog. They even had breakfast ready for us. The house was beautiful. Only thing that our stay was affected by was the flies and mosquitoes outside the house, but that wasnt on Louise. It was just mother nature. Overall a very nice stay. We travel to Vermont quite a bit and would always stay here. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting quiet and peaceful away from the city life.

    Sreejith2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Louise’s home was exactly what we needed when we went hiking with our dog in New Hampshire and Vermont. She was very good at communicating and made us feel right at home! They were also very welcoming to our dog and he immediately became friends with their dog Rainey. Their house was very clean and they had coffee and breakfast ready for us in the morning. Their house is located in beautiful secluded forest like area and we saw some deer running in their backyard. We will definitely stay there again in the future when we do more hiking!

  • Just book it already! Better than camping out in a tent with the same vibe. Absolutely stunning property close to all the attractions in the area. It’s a unique place to stay and a trip you’ll remember for sure.

  • Stayed with My Mom and Doggo for a quick trip. It was a lovely experience even though it was raining a bit when we arrived. The host helped answer our questions when we arrived too!

  • This was the first airbnb I’ve stayed at and it was a beautiful, new experience. At first I was hesitant when I saw it only because I’ve never been without electricity or stayed anywhere like this but it grew on me within only an hour or two. It’s very intimate especially if you’re here with someone and I keep thinking about it and wanting to go back. It’s definitely not for everyone. It gets very cold at night and you have to do pretty much everything yourself from washing dishes to cooking, etc. It was definitely a new experience for us but I quickly learned that I am that type of person! Its quite a bit of a walk; the hardest part was taking our stuff back and forth but the location and everything was beautiful. Again its definitely not for everyone but if you’re into that stuff or want to try to be or get away it can be quite a life-changing experience. I learned a lot about myself and my partner even though we were only there a couple days. I brought my dog and he was ridiculously in love with it. It made me have a different perspective of everything when we left. I was actually quite sad to go back home. We will definitely, without a doubt, go back. Hopefully, fingers crossed, next year.

  • Great little place in the woods.

    Lori2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cool place to stay! The treehouse was amazing. We had a great time and definitely recommend staying here. The air mattress was pretty cozy. Make sure to bring blankets because it did get chilly in the treehouse in the mornings. The atmosphere was great, the string lights were so pretty on the trees. There were a lot of nice touches from the owner like candles, books, bug spray, toilet paper and a game board.

  • This cottage is more than "Cozy"...it is clean, private, amazing location and views, modern and warm. We loved it there. Marjorie was so responsive and welcoming. 6 stars out of 5!

  • Beautiful, private setting with lovely amenities and touches in close proximity to Fairlee and nearby camp wedding destinations. I highly recommend this property and Marjorie!

    Jennifer2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don’t do justice to the beauty of this property...expect to be wowed! The house overlooks the river and is peaceful and private. The deck and porch bring you into all the surrounding nature. Inside, it is immaculate and you will want for nothing in the living space. Marjorie has thought of everything. Fairlee is a little town but close to Hanover and great restaurants...perfect spot if you like your personal space. Marjorie is a highly responsive and thoughtful host!

  • Such a beautiful place! It was better than expected. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Such gracious hosts. Thank you!!

    Chase2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just lovely and very private. It is close to the highway which was a concern before I got there as I am quite sensitive to noise. The wonderfully pristine environment, however, over-ruled my concern for the noise and it was easily blocked out. No one in over 30 reviews I read even mentioned the highway sounds which speaks volumes as far as it not being a concern. May I also mention my family has dubbed me to be like the “princess and the pea”. So take that into consideration. I barely had a chance to meet Marjorie as she was very busy especially with a new litter of kittens. I will return to this little piece of heaven and I hope I will get a chance to meet Marjorie and David again and not just in passing. And oh do I look forward to her delicious coffee cake!!

    Katherine2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Oh....my.....goodness! This cottage was so perfect! My husband and I came to Fairlee for a wedding and this getaway cottage was exactly what we dreamed of. It was so cozy and comfortable and warm and welcoming. Marjorie was so nice in all our messages and she even left us her homemade coffee cake in the fridge to greet us when we arrived. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom and we highly recommend this airbnb to anybody looking for the perfect getaway in beautiful Vermont. Cheers!

    Carmen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage is perfection. It's immaculate, tastefully decorated, has a beautiful view of the Connecticut River from the deck and from inside, and a spacious screened porch, which was appreciated on a rainy morning. Marjorie turned the lights on for our late arrival and left us orange juice and coffee cake for breakfast. There are fantastic restaurants within ten miles and the countryside is breathtaking. This is a very lovely place to stay.

Perfect location for day trips, foliage, hiking, biking and much more! This cozy room has ample storage and a sweet view of New Hampshire's Mt. Moosilauke. Full-size bed, hardwood floor, in our home on a quiet residential street. Huge backyard with firepit and sledding too :) Weekly and monthly discounts available. Check out our reviews and our *other rooms*-- many people return to stay with us! Twin floor mattress *may* be available by reservation... inquire about third person BEFORE booking.
  • My friend and I were on a weekend trip. The room was perfect after a long day of driving and hiking. We stayed one night, warm clean room, a relaxing shower, and warm bed. My friend loved how quiet the area was.

  • Some of the best hospitality available on Airbnb! They even let us use their kayak and minivan to head out to a nearby lake one of the mornings. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay with some extremely friendly locals, this is the spot for you. Thanks Don and Jennifer!

    Kevin2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Don and Jen are fantastic hosts. I stayed at their place for a month as a medical student rotating at Dartmouth. During this busy month with erratic hours, I always felt like Don and Jen's place was a safe place for me to rest. Their kitchen was well equipped, they had a laundry machine, good water pressure in the shower, funny friends, and a whole host of other things I can't quite think of right now. The internet worked great which was important as someone traveling for business. If you ever have to stay for an extended duration somewhere in the Upper Valley, I urge you to please consider this location.

  • This place is full of wonderful memories from my days volunteering at the local summer camp years ago, and it still just feels like home. Vershire is a little town with lots of hidden secrets and magic and really friendly, creative and caring people. Shirley was so welcoming and offered to keep me updated on local events so I can come back and introduce my friends to Vershire too!

You have access to a kayak (your own risk), 2 fly-fishing poles, a regular fresh water pole, lures and a cooler. We ask that you do not use the inside fireplaces during summer months to conserve on petro and wood. The backyard fire pit can be used during the summer months and fall. The fireplaces are available in the colder months. We have now procured proper insurance to allow for the use of the inside fireplaces. As far as cell phone service goes it really depends on who your provider is. Verizon has good reception at the Chalet AT&T does not. We do have entire house WiFi and a house phone if need be. I have coffee and tea available at the Chalet and a community food pantry and fridge (one can never be sure what’s in there). However, no other food is provided. Visit us on instagram #the_red_chalet
Bradford Vermont is right out of the Andy Griffin show. People are kind, friendly and helpful. When I am there I do not even lock the doors.

  • Zoe’s place was everything we could’ve hoped for and more! The pictures are exactly what you’ll find- this cabin offers everything you might need! The bed was super comfy, the wood stove is extremely cozy, and the view from the river room is beautiful. Check in/out was very visitor friendly and Daneene was very quick to respond with any questions we had and very helpfully with her responses. My favorite part had to be the views from the river room over morning coffee and home cooked breakfast. Highly recommend this place to everyone, we most definitely will be back!

    Alicia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for the second week in a row for a work event we had in town. Again, I wish I could have stayed longer, but this time I did have a chance to enjoy the view of the river as I sat in the sitting room next to the fireplace. Everything was great!

    Oryx2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Deneene's Place is a wonderful, quaint little place to stay. I'd love to come back in the summertime to stay on the river!

    Luke2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely as advertised and a great place to stay. My only regret is that we are there for work and don't have time to explore the surroundings, which are beautiful.

  • Everything you could want out of a weekend cabin in the woods! Thoughtfully appointed with amenities and supplies. Easy to find, clean, cozy and comfy! The river running behind the house is a delight and the fireplace was perfect for late nights and games with friends.

    Ashley2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • PERFECT weekend retreat. Deneene is a responsive host and her place has everything needed for a getaway. We skated the oval on Lake Morey both days of our stay, and being able to come back to the chalet and relax by a fire was priceless. Tranquil view of the river, super comfy accommodations, great layout. Flexible check in/check out was appreciated too. Definitely will be back.

    Maria2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this stay so much. I think it’s the only place I’ve ever stayed where I really felt sad leaving. It is so cozy and inviting and just has a very genuinely homey feeling to it that is lacking in most Airbnbs. I think I watched the snow fall while cozied up on the couch beside the fire and sipped on coffee for an entire 4 days. The bed was so comfortable I slept wonderfully. Waking up to fresh snow on on the grounds really makes your New England winter dreams come true. The view of the river with fresh snow coating the trees was just beautiful. Highly recommend this place.

Just 10 miles off the Interstate, but you'll feel like you're way back in the country. Enjoy long view eastward across the Connecticut River Valley to New Hampshire mountains.
Dawnside is a hillside home on a dirt road, tucked into the woods with a view of local hills and distant mountains and plenty of space to unwind. Built over many years, it started out as an 800 sf, off-the-grid home. Today the now 1,700 sf house has electricity and WiFi, and can easily accommodate four or five, although it's cozy for one or two as well. There's a queen bed in the large (16x20) cathedral-ceilinged master bedroom, a full bed in one small (10x10) bedroom, and a twin bed in another small (10x10) bedroom. With its central location between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, you can use Dawnside as a base camp for day trips to go hiking, kayaking, fishing, and exploring the area. Or stay right here and take a walk on the property's woods roads and listen to the wind in the trees. Relax on the deck and watch the sunrise with your tea or coffee, or enjoy your favorite evening drink as you watch the colors shift and change on the mountains and valleys as the sun sets behind you. Lie on your back at night and enjoy the bright stars - there's virtually no light pollution up here on the hill. Light a campfire, toast marshmallows, make s'mores, and watch the fireflies. Rainy day? Curl up with a book in the cozy library nook. The TV, along with a selection of DVD's, is temporarily located in the nook as the living room is being renovate d. There's no cable service but there is WiFi so you can hook up a laptop or Fire Stick and stream video. The kitchen is small but well equipped: refrigerator with ice maker, 5-burner electric range, microwave, dishwasher, and large single-bowl sink. Small appliances include coffee maker, coffee grinder, electric kettle, blender, hand mixer, and 4-slice toaster, and there's a French press as well. There are plenty of plates, silverware, glasses, pots, pans, utensils, and cookbooks. Plastic children's plates, bowls, cups, and silverware are also provided. A selection of coffees, teas, condiments, and spices are provided. A gas grill is located on the back deck for outdoor cooking. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower upstairs. A small 3/4 bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), with a 30" door, is off the laundry room. The laundry room has a front loading washer and dryer and fragrance-free laundry detergent is provided. A 50 gallon water heater provides plenty of hot water. Cell service is spotty at best and seems to change with the wind, weather, and number of birds flying overhead. Verizon works better than other carriers, although you may need to stand in the parking area to catch a signal. There is a landline for your use.
The house is located 1.25 miles (2.0 km) "off the blacktop," halfway up a 1/2 mile (0.8 km) long, quiet dead-end road. There are neighbors but they can't be seen from the house. Sometimes it is so quiet here that you can hear kids playing on the next ridge over... 1/4 mile (0.4 km) away. Quiet country back roads are great for walking, running, and bicycling on. The last 1/4 mile on your way back is a bit steep. Northeast Slopes, where you can ski "the way it used to be," is less than 10 minutes away. It's totally volunteer-run, nature-dependent for snow, and features up to 12 trails, 360' of vertical height, 2 rope tows, and a T-bar - all for a $15 day pass. There's no night skiing but there is reasonably priced food at the snack bar. You can snowboard, too. Bring your own skis and/or boards. If you're going to use the tows bring leather work gloves (or buy them at the snack bar). Burke Mountain and the Dartmouth Skiway are about an hour away. There are two general stores within 10 minutes. The Roots School, which teaches traditional skills, is just 6 miles/12 minutes away. The Mountain School in Vershire is 13 miles/25 minutes. The town of Bradford, with several restaurants, a Kinney Drugs pharmacy, a large Hannaford's supermarket, the awesome Farmway feed/clothing/shoes & boots/furniture store, the Red Kite Candy kitchen and store, and the Bear Ridge dirt race track, is 20 minutes away. The city of Barre ("Bear-ee"), home to famous granite quarries you can visit, is half an hour out. Vermont's capital, Montpelier, is 45 minutes away, as is the up-and-coming White River Jct, Vermont and the home of Dartmouth College: Hanover, New Hampshire. Waterbury, VT, home of Ben & Jerry's, is an hour away and Burlington, VT is an hour and 15 minute drive. A drive-in movie theater is about twenty minutes away. Camp chairs and outdoor blankets are provided so you can grab them and go watch a movie under the stars. In mid-September the Tunbridge World's Fair is just 35 minutes away. Several area artisans participate in May and October Open Studio Weekends and invite you to meet them and see their work. White Mountains attractions, including Lost River Gorge and Polar Caves, are about an hour away. The house is located midway between the Appalachian Trail and Vermont's Long Trail with access to each taking an hour or less, and there are several hiking trails in the area including the 3.5 mile Wright's Mountain Trail just 15 minutes away. Fishing, boating, and swimming are available at many places within a half hour or so radius and Vermont Fish & Game offers free boat launch access at many locations (Note: some lakes and ponds do not allow motorboats). Sporting licenses are available at the East Corinth General Store or online.
  • Eric’s home was everything we hoped for and more. The house was very clean. Eric labeled everything in the house and left notes and instructions through out the house. The home is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The house was very homely and relaxing. Eric made sure we had everything we needed from the moment we arrived. Communication was great from start to finish, our two dogs loved it there too, so much land to run around. We will definitely visit again soon.

    Sharon2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Erich’s place is beautiful, it's like a dream house. You will have everything that you need and more! He is a kind person and always ready to help. One of the coziest places where we have stayed.

    Leonardo Salmaso2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Erich has thought of everything. His house manual, local activities and restaurant information was very helpful. The house and views are beautiful. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend stay!

    Lori2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Dawnside. It was a nice, relaxing winter getaway. Erich went above and beyond our expectations. He was quick with communication, and provided little surprises around the house that we loved! The views are wonderful. The place is clean. We highly suggest staying at Dawnside. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks Erich!

    Shannon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house with so many amenities it’s not even funny! If you think you forgot something at home don’t worry about it Erich has you covered! Don’t second guess this place, Just book it!

    Tim2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying here and I think we will continue to do it every year going forward! Erich is a great host, with an immaculate home. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

    Matt2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful and restful place to spend a weekend. We were delighted by all the thoughtful touches throughout Dawnside—and my husband let me sleep through one of the most beautiful sunrises they’ve ever seen!

    Meghan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Winter at Erich's place is the epitome of hygge (google it). The house itself is tremendously well thought out - we marveled at all the details that went into building such a wonderful place all weekend, and I'm sure we could have kept marveling for weeks longer. I could list all the great things about this place (the beautiful surroundings, the quiet neighborhood, the comfortable furniture, all the little household items available to you, etc.) but to short cut to the point - you definitely won't be disappointed staying here. We will definitely be going out of our way to stay here again.

  • Amanda's place was amazing for a quick weekend getaway! She left a great page of local restaurants nearby which made deciding on dinner very easy. It was very clean and cozy. Amanda was very nice and responded quickly when we had trouble. We're already looking forward to our next trip!

    Justin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's apartment is lovely-comfortable, clean and with every amenity you could require. I spent a weekend with my college age children so we could try skating at Morey Lake but there is so much more to do in the area. My daughter fell in love with Vermont! Amanda's place is easy to find (her directions are perfect). I hope to return to Vermont and Amanda's place soon.

  • The cloud 9 suit is a beautiful place to stay. I was there with my girlfriend and my best friend with his girlfriend. They took the bedroom with the fireplace and we took the sofa bed to see the view. Watching the horizon change colors as the sun sets is incredible, and waking up to the mountains reassured me that the cloud 9 suit is the place to stay when in Vermont. There were plenty of extra blankets and towels for all 4 of us to be cozy at night when the temperature fell and the kitchen had everything we needed and more ! We did notice however, that there were a few DVD's to the left of the TV but no DVD player. But this was not an issue as we did not sit down long enough to watch television. Thanks again for the hospitality and all the info prior to our arrival. I hope to visit Vermont again and be able to stay at the Cloud 9 suit once more.

    Austin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Amanda’s Air BnB. It had everything we need, slept all our guests comfortably and the best view right out the living room windows. It was super convenient to get back and fourth between our activities at Lake Morey.

    Brian2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was great. At check in, she met us at the door and gave us a mini tour of the apartment. The view from the apartment was great. She was reachable when we had questions.

    Gabriela2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm and welcoming space. Plenty of towels, romantic wall “fireplace” in bedroom, nice kitchen, soft sheets, beautiful views, great hikes from the front door. Great communication and response time. We stayed 2 nights and hosted a post Holiday dinner there with VT daughters. Would reserve again- Highly recommend Amanda’s place!

  • We felt like we were staying at a friends home for the weekend. House is cozy and clean and Eleanor was always readily available when we had any questions. The towels were so nice and really soft and bathrooms were extra clean. I would love to go back maybe in the summer to take advantage of more outdoor activities! Thank You 😊

Oh, Eleanor is a great hostes! She responds really quick and is very comprehensive. We will be considering in another trip to stay here again, specially during the summer. We wished we would be able to stay another day :( I would recommend anyone to stay here!!

    Erika2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Eleanor’s house! She was super helpful and responsive when I had questions and gave some great suggestions for the area. The home was adorable and had great board games and views!

    Gabby2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious place with lots of areas. We loved the games and theres a great area right around the house to walk. Perfect for our ski getaway!

    Hendrick2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is super cute with woodsy decor. The hosts are thoughtful for both their 2 and 4 legged guests by leaving plenty of extra things you may forget like dog food, leashes, bowls, and even toiletries like mouth wash, toothbrushes, shampoos, etc. The bonus area downstairs had lots of games and puzzles for the family too. They do ask that you wash all the towels and bedding before you leave though, so plan accordingly. It was an enjoyable stay and we look forward to visiting again!

    Leia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wouldn’t change a thing. The house was very welcoming, cozy, and comfortable. A pet friendly home with warm touches of a dog bed and toys. With or without pets this place is very nice and well worth it.

A 6 min. walk to Lake Fairlee, 23 mins. to Dartmouth or Dartmouth Ski-way, our Airbnb includes a 1000 square ft room in a lovely garden setting. This separate house built onto ours has a private entrance and offers hardwood floors, radiant heat in winter, large windows, a private kitchen, private bath, garden views and 2 spacious semi-private sleeping areas - one queen bed, one single bed, plus 2 queen futons in shared spaces. We are cleaning re CDC & Airbnb guidelines to keep everyone safe.
Our place was designed for music gatherings and over night guests with social ambiance in mind. But the large room also serves as a quiet environment for just one or two people to relax, read, meditate, watch movies or work. There are stairs leading up to the loft with three alcoves for sleeping areas. We provide folding Chinese screens for additional privacy. Each alcove has a window view. We are only minutes away from Dartmouth and the many cultural gems and natural beauties in the area. We welcome people from all backgrounds.
We live on a small residential street in the village of Post Mills one of five tiny villages in the rural town of Thetford, in Central Eastern VT. Post Mills is populated by full time residents and also has a vibrant summer community. The four camps around our 450 acre lake have been in operation since 1906 leaving much of the shoreline still wooded. Scenic bike rides, rivers and hiking trails on public lands are minutes away. We recommend the Post Mills Airport for balloon rides and our town beach, Treasure Island, if you're looking for a community atmosphere on the lake. From June to mid-October treat yourself to the produce and organic cheeses at Cross Road Farm located 1/3 of a mile from our place. You'll find art galleries, theater, summer concerts, delightful restaurants, shopping, church suppers, antiquing and more beautiful natural settings within easy reach of our village.! Ask us!
  • If you want to stay in an inspiring space, built by a luthier and Yoga teacher than check this place out, walking distance to a lake, etc etc our first Airbnb stay. Exceeded our expectations.

  • We had such a great, relaxing getaway here. The pictures really don't do the space justice, we were blown away by how wide open yet cozy the entire place was. The ping pong table, puzzles, and record player were excellent touches that were a part of our routine every day but really there's so much to do here for anyone looking for a quiet retreat from the world, those are just a few examples. Or, if you want to go out and about, Pippa and George provide a whole binder full of curated local experiences they recommend! Very thoughtful. We miss our time here already!

    Shaun2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and tranquil spot!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Pippa and George's place! Pippa and George were extremely kind hosts and we enjoyed talking with them. We also really enjoyed seeing where George's beautiful guitars are made. The space was great with so many lovely plants! Very close to the Lake Morey ice skating trail, places to ski, and many great trails for hiking! Highly recommend staying here!

An old camp brought back to life. This sweet spot is a new renovation built to blend modern with rustic by a craftsman with a love of wood. You will see seven different kinds of wood on show here. See if you can name them all during your stay. From the loft is a wide view of the special kitchen with cabinets made from Tap Hole Maple and a spectacular Birdseye Maple counter top.
    * Easy access from the highway and you will not need 4x4 to get here. * The loft is accessed by a hefty ladder with railings but is steep. Use of the loft is at your own risk. * While there is full plumbing, the water is spring fed, so please be mindful of usage.
In the woods but close to the town of Bradford with several good restaurants and grocery shopping. Bradford is also home to the well known Farmway store where you can shop for just about anything. Close the Lake Morey in Fairlee for summer or winter activites, hiking in the White mountains, mountain biking, ATV use, and snowmobile access to the VAST trail system. Or, hike my land out the back door to the top of the mountain with beautiful views of Mt. Moosilauke NH. 2 mi to Bear Ridge Speedway (May - Oct) 2.9 mi to Bradford Golf Course 3.2 mi to Farmway 9 mi to Lake Morey 9.7 mi to Lake Fairlee 9.5 mi to Northeast Slopes for skiing at a $15 price tag! 26 mi to King Arthur Flour 26 mi to Montshire Museum of Science 26 mi to Mt Moosilauke, NH 36 mi to Lincoln, NH
  • This was a really special place and we had a great time here. Steven is an amazing host, he met us at arrival even though we were late, gave us a tour of this cabin and its background. It`s probably one of the most beautifully made places I`ve seen, really special. Everything is hand made and has a history. Its a nice area to go for walks in and our daugther had a great time exploring the little things outside in the forest by the cabin. I would reccomend this place and we`re definitely coming back.

    Johanne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for a getaway! The camp that Steven has built is absolutely beautiful, very spacious, and has everything you need to feel in nature, with the comforts of the indoors! There is a beautiful hiking trail right behind the camp that leads to a picturesque summit! Steven and Melissa were very friendly and helpful when we met them at the camp. We will definitely be staying here again!

    Barbara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful with a woodworker's touch. Steve did a wonderful job renovating the cabin. He was extremely helpful and forthcoming with local spots to visit and hiking in the area. • Its a great place to go to for a weekend away, super clean and comfortable cabin and a great host

    Scott2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very cozy and exactly as advertised. We all really enjoyed our stay and it was good value for the price. The place was very clean and everything worked fine - appliances, plumbing, electricity, internet, heat - all good. Cannon was a pleasant 30 minute drive away. The driveway was recently plowed when we arrived and Jennifer and her husband were attentive and responsive hosts. Highly recommend.

    Cullen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and cozy little cabin!

    Paul2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Although I would have liked to have stayed at Jens other locations but were booked for the time periods of my stay, this cabin served its purpose. I was a bit disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t ready but they did offer for me to go up the street to use the hot tub at the other location. It was -6 degrees when I was there and I was a bit chilly in this cabin since it was recommended in the house manual to use the electric heat sparingly. The propane fireplace didn’t keep up with the outside cold temps. The upstairs was warmer but the beds weren’t as comfortable.

Base Camp is located at the gateway to your White Mountain National Forest adventures! Quiet, comfortable and convenient to hiking, snowshoeing, skiing and area attractions. Only 30 minutes to either Lincoln, North Woodstock or Plymouth. You can spend your evenings by the outdoor fire pit during warmer months, or playing games, cards or even watching movies after a day out in the winter.
The host home shares the property with the camp, but is a separate building. Only 15 minutes to Mt Moosilauke- the first 4,000 footer on the AT. Our town is surrounded by the White Mountains on the western edge. We have 3 friendly dogs and a cat that you may see. The cat may even invite himself in to visit if you allow.
Within 30 minutes: Breweries, Polar Caves, Clark's Trading Post, Whales Tale Water Park, Loon Mountain, Franconia Notch, Plymouth State University. Also, Rumney Race track, the AT, and an actual Redstone Rocket. The immediate location of the camp is rural in a town of around 900. Camp is actually just about on the town line of an equally sized town.
  • Staying at Base Camp was so relaxing, and the nature was unparalleled. We will always remember our time at Base Camp with smiles :D

  • This is a lovely cabin in the woods set next to the own's main house. You have total privacy by having your own place which includes a full bathroom, kitchen, high top table with three chairs, a futon couch in the living with a Smart TV (has a DVD player with DVDs and other streaming services) along with books, puzzles and games to use. There is one bedroom with one bed which was perfect for just the two of us and our dog (yes this place is dog-friendly which was great!). Tracy provided outstanding hospitality during our stay and we will keep this place in mind if we end up going north again.

  • We absolutely loved the house, and had a great weekend in the mountains. The house was beautiful, with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Our dog loved running around outdoors in the large property. The location was perfect for a ski weekend with multiple mountains in the area, and we loved nearby Littleton which had great restaurants and shops. Susi was a great host, and was easy and quick to communicate with whenever we had a question. Highly recommend the stay here!

This log cabin is set in the woods in a rural part of northeastern Vermont. Escape the hustle and bustle, clear your mind, and enjoy nature. A great place to get some fresh air or to stay in and take a nap. Beautiful summers for easy hikes and refreshing swims in the lakes of our local Groton State Forest, unbelievable foliage to view from small dirt roads, and tons of outdoor winter activities. Great for a couples getaway, friends weekend, or some quality time with the kids. Pets welcome, too!
First off, we (your hosts) like to try to give potential guests an idea of the region of Vermont in which we are located. It's important to emphasize how rural this region is - it's different from other parts of Vermont. We are located in the northeastern part of the state. We are on the opposite side of the state from Burlington and Lake Champlain, and we are east of all of the Central Vermont Ski areas. This area does not have a lot of tourism (relative to the other parts of the state) and in turn has a much smaller, more humble economy than the busier parts of the state. We have a lot of old farmland and meandering dirt roads. The town of Groton, where we are located, has a general store (about a 3 minute drive away from the cabin) and is home to Groton State Forest (about a 10 minute drive from the cabin). But besides that, most everything else (restaurants, bars, shops, ski resorts) is at least a 30-45 minute drive. We don't have a lot of the amenities or well-established outdoor adventure venues that the larger towns like Stowe, VT, Woodstock, VT, or Burlington, VT can offer. Our little of slice of Vermont is truly a place to get away from the more modern world and slow down. I think the best things to do in our immediate area and at the cabin are: star-gazing, napping in the hammock, sitting by the fire pit and roasting marshmallows, snow-shoeing through the backwoods around the cabin, and taking a kayak out on one of the very peaceful lakes in Groton State Forest. With that said, if you are willing to take a drive there are tons of things to do (and remember this is easy driving! very few stop lights and NEVER any traffic). We are right in between the Green Mountains and the White Mountains (about an hour from White Mountain State Park and an hour from Camel's Hump, Mt. Mansfield etc). We are 1 hour and 30 minutes from Burlington and Lake Champlain. A right turn out of the driveway and there are miles and miles of beautiful back roads that glow with reds, oranges and yellows during fall foliage. On a typical drive you will see old farm houses, country general stores with local goods, apples, syrup, and more. There are amazing breweries in all directions, some hidden in the coolest and smallest nooks of our beautiful Vermont hills. In the winter, you will be 45 minutes from the smaller ski mountains Burke Mountain and Bolton Valley, and 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes from bigger ski resorts in all directions (Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Loon Mountain, Bretton Woods, Sunapee, and more!). If back woods cross country skiing or snowshoeing is more your speed, there are picturesque old farm fields and backwoods trails within a 20 to 30 minute drive. If your not sure which direction to head in but know you are looking for an outdoor adventure, we will always be more than happy to offer advice, suggestions, and directions to personalize your experience and get you off the beaten path. As for the log cabin itself: it is located on a dirt road in the woods on the outskirts of Groton. Your hosts live in the house about a one or two minute walk up the hill from the log cabin. The two houses are separated by woods, so besides the shared driveway that passes in front of the cabin, the cabin has complete privacy. This is a modern cabin in almost every way. It has electricity, great insulation, central heat (in addition to an effective wood stove), microwave, full gas stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, a full bathroom, a washer and dryer, a land-line telephone, and wifi. But we want to stress that this is a place to disconnect. Literally. You might get one bar of cell phone service. The cabin does not have TV or computers. Remember, if all you need is a place to rest and relax - this is your place. It's a great place to do nothing at all. You won't hear a thing at night and only a logging truck or two during the day. You can go outside on clear nights and see a sky full of stars. It's a great place to write, do yoga, nap, cuddle, sit around for hours and talk with your loved ones, or just be :)
You are in the middle of the woods. The road that the property is located on is a dirt road that is great for walks at all times of the year, night or day. There are houses every half a mile or so interspersed with woods and old farm land.
  • A very cozy and great place to stay! Had an amazing time and enjoyed the weekend!

  • The cabin was very clean, and had everything I needed for a weeks stay. Very friendly host, and the dog friendly space was well worth it.

  • Emily and her parents are exceptional hosts - friendly, approachable, communicative, and responsive. Their listing is an ideal getaway for someone looking for a getaway - the scenery is beautiful, the cabin is cozy, and there are so many interesting books and puzzles to enjoy! This trip marks the fourth time we have stayed at Emily’s cabin. Not only do we keep coming back, we are already thinking about our next trip!

  • Emily’s cabin is the perfect Vermont get away! The cabin is located about 20 minutes west of the closest town (grocery shopping, liquor store, ATM, etc), but there are many small restaurants and cafes to discover nearby if you take the advice of your host. This time we checked out the Peacham Cafe which is a beautiful 15 minute drive north of the cabin. The majority of my time was spent by the fire watching my fiancé and dogs play in the snow! This was our third time staying at the cabin and we now know that it is a great place to stay any time of year! Thank you, Emily!

  • A beautiful, private cabin in a lovely part of Vermont. This was our third trip here. We make wonderful meals in the great kitchen- explore the countryside- hike and snowshoe, and then warm up by the wood stove. The hosts are so friendly. It’s our favorite winter getaway.
