  • From the very start of the booking process the communication from the host, Marc, was spot on. It was easy to find and check-in. I wanted a quirky place to stay to suit adults and teenagers, and this fitted the bill. It was large enough to spread out and relax. Clean, warm, interesting interior. Great transport links. Supermarkets on the doorstep, plus an interesting riverside walk.

Great getaway cabin on the Banks of Loch Lomond, fantastic views of the loch and surrounding mountains. A great base for enjoying the many water sports available on the loch, hill walking or simply a relaxing break. Continental breakfast included.
The cabin is self contained with an en suite shower room, TV and free WiFi. A substantial continental breakfast is provided within the cabin. There is a covered balcony area and garden. Our biggest asset without doubt is the unrestricted stunning views of Loch Lomond and surrounding mountains. We are in the village and within a five minute walk of all local amenities. If you are attending a wedding in the village we are located 50 metres from the church and a five minute walk to both local hotels.
Luss is an extremely picturesque village in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National (URL HIDDEN) is in a conservation area with many ancient buildings, the local church being of particular interest with hump back Viking grave stones. You can also enjoy many beautiful walks in the surrounding area.
  • Stayed for two nights and the place was just what we were hoping for; comfy, great location in the centre of Luss, notable view and with some thoughtful extras kindly provided so we could make sandwiches after a long drive. The accommodation is straightforward and not fancy but it had everything we needed for our fairly brief stay. Would recommend.

  • Excellent night away, would definitely return

    Taylor2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great if you just want to stay in Luss for a few days! It’s right across from a cute little coffee shop and down the street from a couple of places to eat. She refreshed the place every day and gave a nice continental breakfast. The host was so responsive and easy to chat to and you wake up to the best view! Only thing is it does get windy so bring ear plugs so you don’t hear the doors blowing. Great stay and super pleased!

    Tj2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place to stay, the scenery from the cabin is outstanding, & it's literally only a 2 minute walk onto the pier for the loch for even better perspective. Alyson is an extremely friendly & helpful host, would highly reccomend to anyone who clicks on this place!

    Adam2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alyson's place was incredible. It was a special stop for me because of my family history and we could not have picked a more perfect place. We love Luss. Alyson welcomed us and was so hospitable. There were so many thoughtful touches in the quaint cabin. Super clean and adorable! There aren't words to describe how wonderful our stay was so please see for yourself!

    Kelsey2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place to stay, wonderful views and definitely a wee hidden gem! The spread Alyson put on for breakfast was of excellent quality and all amenities were at hand. Exceptional value for money and a very clean and well kept place. Alyson was also a lovely host who was always on hand. I will recommend this place to anyone travelling in this region!

    Peter2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Alyson’s cabin was just how we imagined, cosy, clean well stocked fridge with breakfast goodies. The best part is the view of the Loch and the perfect location.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  • Pictures cannot do justice to how beautiful this cabin and it's views are. It is truly breathtaking. Alyson was such a wonderful host, really easy to communicate with and so friendly and helpful. The breakfast she provides is more than enough for two and full of so many thoughtful touches. It was snowing while we were here but the cabin was so warm. Pub and cafe within walking distance and lots to explore within a short drive. Thank you Alyson for one of our favourite holidays!

  • My stay at Michael and Nolwenn's cottage was great. It was the perfect base for a weekend getaway from Edinburgh.

    Grace2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage, perfect location for Loch Lomond and surrounds, friendly helpful hosts.

    Jamie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Michael and Nolwenn's cosy cabin. As a non-driver it was wonderful to find a peaceful place to stay within easy reach of beautiful scenery yet right next to the train station and close to local amenities. Michael kindly met us from the station and helped us with our bags but it was so close - just across the road! We walked to the loch and went to the Sea Life and Birds of Prey centres. It was February so the weather wasn't great and sadly we couldn't make use of the pretty deck and gardens, but the cabin was toasty warm and there were plenty of board games, books and DVDs to keep us entertained. In fact, this is the best-equipped self-catering accommodation I've ever stayed in. Michael and Nolwenn have thought of everything, especially in the kitchen: as well as all the cutlery, crockery and utensils you'd need to cook, they provide tea, coffee, oil, sauces, salt, pepper, herbs and spices, even foil to wrap sandwiches in for picnics. These are the little things you often end up wastefully buying and leaving behind when you are self-catering and travelling by public transport. The accommodation was immaculately clean and tidy, the bed comfy, communication clear and efficient. An exemplary Airbnb experience!

    Emily2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Nolwenn were lovely hosts! The place is every bit as cosy as it looks, located very close to Loch Lomond (the cottage has direct access to a riverside path that leads you to the Loch!) and Michael and Nolwenn gave us lots of useful information which we took advantage of during our stay! Would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Loch Lomond area.

  • Fabulous accommodation, fabulous hosts, would definitely return

    Jen2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Nolwenn are extremely kind hosts, full of useful tips of the area. The cottage is conveniently just a few minutes walk from the train depot, with plenty of privacy and a view of the river. Great place to spend a few nights away.

    David2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This magical oasis hidden on the River Leven banks of Balloch, is not to be missed. Within the first few moments into the cabin you already feel right at home, with a cosy aesthetic and some of the comfiest sheets we had ever slept in. The surrounding garden is genuinely the most magical area you will ever find yourself. Your inner child will be filled with wonder and adventure as you meander your way around its twists and turns. Waking up to a cuppa on the balcony is the ideal way to start your day and as you watch the sun peak through the trees you’ll realise that you never want to leave. Fisherwood Cottage is absolutely stunning and we can guarantee that it’s the best way to see Balloch.

Communication from and with Gemma was exceptional. As much as we love large old Victorian houses we also appreciated the heating, secondary double glazing and modern expensive kitchen. Some nice pieces of furniture too. Would definitely return.

  • Stunning wee cottage. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough, clean, bright, everything you could possibly need. Beautiful views, quiet, lovely area. After a long journey it was a big plus to find fresh milk in the fridge, tea, coffee & sugar. The cottage had a very comfortable sofa bed, great oven for cooking dinner. Lovely bathroom, with fresh towels, toiletries. The cottage was very warm & private, with your own parking space. I will definitely be booking the wee cottage again, it's an absolute gem. Big thanks to our super host Kevin

  • Beautiful wee 'wee cottage' Great views. Kevin is very helpful.

    Kevin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage has absolutely everything you would need, stuff we hadn't even thought about(salt, pepper, oil). And there was a fresh loaf and milk waiting for us. Even having the sofa bed pulled out it still feels spacious and not cramped whatsoever. The whole cottage was immaculate for us arriving and the shower is amazing, just what we needed after getting drenched walking the dog! It was our first ever Air BnB experience and it has set the bar very high! We will definetely be coming back. The weather was constantly raining for our weekend but the cottage is so cosy that we didn't mind what so ever. Thanks Kevin!

  • Overall great place and value. Very clean and modern.

    Richard2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for the price. It's near a train station, the view is great from the bedroom, and Italo is very quick to respond if you have any questions. The hill up from the train station is absolutely brutal if you have luggage, so I'd suggest taking a cab the few blocks up if you're not sure you can make it up. The shower and the washing machine weren't working when we got there, but Italo responded immediately and got it fixed with no issues. Host is wonderful and the space is perfect if you want a quiet area in a beautiful city nearby Glasgow. I'll definitely stay again if I come back!

  • Great location and view. Bus stops close by and amazing buildings. Very quiet and near some great pubs and lots of food. So lovely quiet and there are some very long stairs that take you towards the water that are just beautiful. Even inside apartment very quiet and has spices and pots and pans and excellent WiFi. Would definitely recommend if you want peace and quiet.

Compact but very cosy modern apartment within an end of a hillside cul-de-sac in Gourock with spectacular sweeping views over Firth of Clyde, Loch Long, Holy Loch and mountains of Argyll. Very quiet. Bedrooms face the rear of the building where the countryside wilderness starts and the only night time disturbance is likely to be the slight noise of an odd deer venturing into the garden grounds.
Please note that own transport is advisable. Although there is a public bus service at the main road at the bottom of the hill, some walking uphill from the bus is needed, which might be not suitable for young children and/or frail people. Discounted taxi service with a licensed Inverclyde taxi operator/driver could be arranged on request. The primary maximum amount of guests is four persons. However, a fifth person could be accommodated on a folding bed in the lounge, if required. I do believe in maintaining a healthy environment in the flat and keep the number of soft furnishings to a bare necessary minimum. It means no carpet floor coverings, etc., but it helps to keep dust levels as low as possible.
Inverclyde with its principal towns of Greenock and Gourock boasts plenty of scenic places with spectacular views over water and mountains. Within walking distance from the apartment, there is Gourock-Dunoon ferry offering the fastest route to Argyll from Inverclyde. From Dunoon it is possible to explore the unspoilt mountainous scenery with empty roads of the Cowal peninsula and further afield into Argyll and Highlands proper. A few miles south at Wemyss Bay, there is the ferry linking the mainland with the Isle of Bute. For city lovers, Glasgow with its endless possibilities for shopping, culture and nightlife is only 30 miles to the east.

We rented a car so it was easy to get to shopping, sightseeing and the ferry terminal and parking was included with the apartment. We flew home from Glasgow airport and it was easy to get to the airport. We enjoyed our stay at Oxana's.

  • My husband and myself stayed in Tony's brilliant apartment for three nights and thoroughly loved staying there. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Home from home! It is in a great location in Gourock for getting about easily. Also nice to meet Tony on arrival (sorry we didnt give him much notice) but he was there ready to greet us and left us a nice bag of goodies. Hopefully we will be able to return.

  • This is a beautiful flat, in a peaceful and friendly location, great for access to the west of Scotland. Everything was perfect - comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, great kitchen, living room with a view of the sea. Tony kindly provided a welcome pack so I didn't have to go straight out to shop for basics. Many thanks, Tony.

  • Just come back from a week stay at this apartment...it was truly a home from home. The host made check in effortless for us. Answering messages almost immediately so we got to pick up the key earlier. The apartment is lovely and clean and the location is beautiful and the trains ferry and bus are all within walking distance to explore the areas near or far. The views from the window are amazing the bed is lovely and comfy the heating worked well it was lovely and cosy and the kitchen was awesome. The TVs were easy to stream your own entertainment and the lounge was lovely to chill out in at the end of the day with a glass of wine...or two. Shower...gorgeous! There are no negatives for me I would definitely return and use it as my base to see more of Scotland.

  • Anthony was an outstanding host he went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The flat was spacious and comfortable made us feel right at home. We were within walking distance to shops, bakeries, restaurants and the train station. When he arrived to the flat to meet us he brought a few groceries in hand which we appreciated. We will be back!

    Mary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and amenities, comfy king size bed and great bathroom with a walk-in shower. Tony accommodated our request at very short notice and arranged for his dad to meet&greet us upon arrival. Will consider coming back again. Overall - an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

  • This is a spacious flat in a great location, walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants and the train station. We cycled over to the Cowal peninsula via the Dunoon ferry and the roads are so quiet and pretty. Recommend the Fusion restaurant to eat in, wonderful meal and very friendly quick service. Would definitely stay here again hopefully when the open air swimming pool is open as it looks amazing!

  • Beautiful apartment with a beautiful view!

    Ashley2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. The apartment is as shown in the listing. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to cook with, the TV had lots of channels, and there is a great view of the Firth of Clyde from the living room bay windows. It's close enough to town that we walked everywhere. 0.8 miles to the nearest supermarket, maybe a little over a mile to go all the way into town. We arrived by train and the Cartsdyke train station was only about an 8 minute walk. We were very happy with our stay.

    Jeff2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great value for money, the host was super helpful in terms of letting us know things to do in the local area and in Glasgow which was only approx a 20 min train journey away. The rooms were as described and the place was clean and tidy, would recommend!

  • Thank you so much for having us. Karen is lovely. The flat is outstanding, it really is a gem. Everything was perfect. The bed and sofa are both so comfy. The kitchen is big and fully equipped. Karen makes it feel like a home away from home. Its a short drive to Loch Lomond - which is also very beautiful. Its in a great central location. Check-in and out was so easy. We will definitely be returning. Thank-you

  • The Clyde Coast flat is clean and roomy. The bed was very comfortable. I was there for 10 days. The flat is on the second floor, and you have to take the stairs. That was not an issue for me. Security is good, since there is a lock on the street entrance to the property with a buzzer for visitors to alert you to buzz them in. You are within walking distance of the scenic Greenock Esplanade and the town center. There's a bus to Glasgow that runs approximately every 15 minutes, with a bus stop close by. The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, cook top, and oven. I especially appreciated the electric kettle and the french press coffee maker for my morning coffee. I was able to make anything I wanted in the kitchen. There is a washing machine for your clothes in the kitchen. Most people in Scotland don't have a dryer, so you hang your clothes on a rack to dry. :) The bathroom has a bath tub and a shower. It's a regular size bathroom with no window. The living room is quite large and has a sectional couch, table and chairs for dining and a with cable TV and internet. The internet has a good speed.

  • Donald and Vanessa’s place was just everything we needed for our short stay. The location is amazing. Close to all the good places like cafes and restaurants and the view from the apartment is breathtaking! The apartment itself is super comfortable and cosy. The bed is very comfortable and spacious and to be honest it was hard to get up and leave it :) The shower and the bathroom is super functional and super clean. And the kitchen has everything you need to prepare breakfast or cook full dinner which you can eat on the dining table and look at the beautiful view of the river Clyde. We also loved little touches like a tub of Scottish shortbread biscuits and milk bread and jams in the fridge. This was lovely so thank you both :) If you are staying there during warm months you will be able to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast sitting outside in the garden terrace watching ferries and mountain peaks on the other side of the river. We have also been told you may be lucky to see a deer coming close to the house :) We would definitely recommend this place for a stay. It was perfect for 2 of us and we absolutely loved it! Thanks Donald and Vanessa :)

The views are absolutely outstanding and the area a good base for travelling around west Scotland.

  • Fresh and stylish space, this very comfortable apartment offers beautiful views overlooking the sea. Very comfortable bed and sofa. Lovely walks, a charming pub and amenities nearby. Close to nice restaurants and cafes too. I cooked a lovely steak dinner, with roast potatoes and veg in the evening. Kitchen was perfect. Dining at the living room window was ideal. I would recommend a stay here to anyone interested in visiting the area.

It's clean and warm with everything you need to be comfortable. It's a great location. Not far from transport - ferry, bus and train. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

  • Helen is wonderful and this stay is a jewel. The landscape is beautiful and the grounds are well kept. The room is clean and cozy and exactly the escape my pup and I needed from city life! My puppy even got to play with Cordelia, the lovey Jack Russell Terrier owned by Helen. Everything about our stay was lovely. It was raining for most of our stay, so we didn’t get to do many of the local experiences, but there were a plethora provided if we had been so inclined. I highly recommend this stay for a bit of an old-world manor feel. I’m sure in the warmer months the gardens are superb! I loved being outside and seeing the water and Isle of Bute across the channel!

    Jonathan2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great find for those “I’ve missed the ferry to Bute days’ or as somewhere go explore this part of Scotland from. Helen was a fantastic host!

  • Great location, right by the sea, the accommodation is nestled around the back of the house and has a nice view over the garden. The Bathroom was lovely and well decorated & the breakfast set up was great and I enjoyed the freedom I had while staying there. Helen was really helpful and provided me with lots of information about the local area.

    Rob2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • A truly beautiful home that was great to stay at (although altogether far too briefly!). Helen was very welcoming and the flat was spacious with great facilities. The estate and area as a whole was one of the nicest I’ve seen on Airbnb and the historical materials and local touches Helen provided made it all the better. Highly recommend!

    Max2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • A clean welcoming self contained space, with good communication from helen.

    Greg2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • I arrived at Helen’s during a howling gale in pitch darkness, cold and tired and was utterly delighted to find such a clean, warm and cozy place waiting for me. Self-check in couldn’t be easier, and the little upstairs flat is so cozy and quiet. I felt very snug while the wind howled outside. Helen is also amazingly kind and let me stay a bit longer while I waited in hopes that the ferries to Bute would resume. I would love to come back in summer when the weather is less treacherous.

The area is well know for HMNB Clyde home to the UK's RN submarine fleet, and regardless of politics, they are quite impressive seen close to. Helensburgh is a lovely wee, seaside town boasting many restaurants and cafes, great ice cream, a long pier, swimming pool and a cinema with 2 screens housed in an old church. Loch Lomond is 15 minutes away, Dumbarton Castle 25 minutes away and many other lochs within an hours travel. Delightful one bedroom garden cottage ideally placed for exploring Loch Lomond and the West coast of Scotland while close enough to Glasgow to allow easy access to the city by road or rail.
Attached single storey cottage with double bedroom, shower room, fitted kitchen diner and conservatory set in a private walled garden. There is no private parking space but there is ample, free on street parking.
The cottage is in a quiet neighbourhood. It is a short, flat, walking distance to the small town centre and two minutes to the sea front which is lined with shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. There are two train stations, Helensburgh Central to travel to Glasgow and Edinburgh and Helensburgh Upper for the West Highland Line to travel north. You can also travel to Glasgow on this line but there are fewer trains. There is a good tourist information office in the town, a small cinema and the Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed 'Hill House'. There are two supermarkets within walking distance and a larger one on the outskirts of the town. There are also two petrol stations a short drive from the cottage. Helensburgh has two sailing clubs. The area is great for walking and cycling. There is a cycle path to Loch Lomond and beyond and good local walking trails. The John Muir Way starts in Helensburgh. If you bring bikes and are interested in cycling then I can put you in touch with local cyclists who can give you guidance about some of the best local routes. Bikes can be hired from Magic Cycles based in Bowling but you should book in advance in the summer. Check out their website.
  • We loved our stay here. Great location and a good base for exploring. Linda's place was very comfortable and really quiet. Linda is a lovely host who really wants to make sure you enjoy your stay and she provides everything you need. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

    Gavin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place was absolutely amazing! It’s basically being home away from home. The best Airbnb we’ve been so far and we’ve been to quite a few.

    Catherine2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • So much about this place was outstanding. Linda was such an unbelievable host – she thought of EVERYTHING! I was pleasantly surprised so often at all of her thoughtful touches and things she remembered so that your stay is the most comfortable- what a pro! Didn’t hurt that she was also very nice to talk to :) The house is spotless and very comfortable immediately. It is obviously a cozy, small place, but it is perfect.

    Lora2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is located just outside of the centre of Helensburgh, about a 5 minute stroll into the centre. A lovely little cottage with everything you would need for a quiet getaway to Scotland. Milk, juice and breakfast bits were a lovely extra touch, as were the umbrellas!

    David2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s flat was lovely - incredibly clean, homely and full of nice touches to make the stay extra special! Great location right by the water and near to Helensburgh which has some nice pubs and cafes. Would highly recommend!

    Lucy2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage in a very good location for travel to the Loch Lomond area and western Scotland. There were lots of amenities on offer, and we appreciated the little jug of milk in the fridge so we could have a cup of tea after a long drive up. Everything was clean and in good order, and the bed was very comfy. We would definitely recommend 'The Little House' to other travellers.

    Cherie2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is a true gem right in the heart of Helensburgh, just a few steps from the water front. The conservatory is absolutely beautiful and makes it easy to relax after a long day of exploring. Helensburgh is a quaint little town with very nice restaurants and it's in the perfect location to head out to Loch Lomond and the Highlands. Communication was easy and Linda was extremely welcoming. Overall, I highly recommend a stay at Linda's place! :)

    Freya2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in the little house. The house was super clean and comfortable. Linda responds within minutes if you have a question. I would recommend to stay here to anyone! Just a warning for people taller then 1.95m. You will not fit in the shower.
