Intact, late Victorian neighborhood with beautiful architecture - walkable, friendly, diverse and community oriented. A truly unique neighborhood in the heart of DC.
  • A good space for a short stay. Great bathroom and well designed room. Pleasantries such as free chocolates and popcorn were a nice touch! Paul was generally good at communication and very friendly. We stayed for four days during summer and heat in the apartment was a bit of an issue despite windows/air con.

  • Very charming and cozy in a hip neighborhood. Paul and Zach were super accommodating and suggested great places to eat within a short walk!

  • This space and location was perfect. The hosts were wonderful and helpful in every way. Their recommendations were very helpful and accurate. Thank you for your help and memories. We will recommend you to anyone.

  • Paul and Zack are great host, they go above and beyond to make sure you'll have a pleasant time. Their home was very warm and welcoming.

  • This place was really great! Such an escape from where we were coming in nyc. The room was so cosy and decor was so warm that it was so welcoming. All the facilities were clean and well put together. The hospitality was also really nice and we hope to come back soon and stay at this great garden retreat again!

    Lydia 2015-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a fantastic host: very friendly and helpful but not overbearing in the slightest. Him and Zach have made the lot behind their place into a lovely garden and the bedroom and bathroom into a sort of romantic suite.

    Kirsten2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Paul's and Zach's apartment was awesome! Every little thing is designed down to the smallest detail. They provide us with lots of informative brochures and little snacks. The small apartment has everything you need including fridge, cooker, towels etc... It is very welcoming and located in a very nice area of D.C. Check in and check out is really flexible. We didn't meet Paul but his partner Zach. He is a very nice person! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitively come back!

    Svenja2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly welcoming hosts, very warm and accomodating . The apartment is just as in the pictures, wonderfully decorated and with a cosy garden right outside the door. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway who atill wants to be near the city. Will be staying here on our next trip to DC

Our historic one bedroom apartment is carved out of an 1895 Victorian row house. It has nice character and charm. Located in a fantastic neighborhood, close to great restaurants, bars and transportation.
One bedroom apartment with full kitchen, private entrance, living room, study and bedroom. Hardwood floors throughout. This 19th century house was carved into apartments in the early 1960's. Some of the original Victorian details were saved. It was updated in the 1960's to accommodate Washington, DC's need for more housing.
  • Wonderfully quaint house with the neatest decor and accents.

  • Steven met us and showed us around, which made us feel very welcomed. The place itself was fantastic - I absolutely loved the unique style. (Seriously: he has curated every last inch and it was like staying in a museum.) We had all the amenities we needed. It was a great spot to retreat to after being out and about all day. We were able to communicate by text with any needs which was very convenient. I would highly recommend Steven's apartment to anyone else.

    Cassia2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place, in a fantastic neighbourhood and dealing with Steven was effortless and a pleasure. I would recommend this spot to anyone, 5 stars! Also if you stay there check out an amazing neighbourhood bar which is just over the road 'Show Time'.

    Ivan2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is amazing, very fun place to stay. National mall is about 45 minutes away on foot and way less by bike (bike share just down the street). Surrounded by local bars and restaurants, lots of fun. Steven was prompt and helpful.

    Andreah2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Steven's place was very artsy and eclectic. Steven had great communication as well.

    Shanna2016-10-28T00:00:00Z

    Brittany 2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Steven was very responsive, and has decorated the apartment in such a charming and eclectic way. I really enjoyed all the curiosities he's collected. It was very close to the convention center that I was in town for, and it was such a steal for the price. It was a lovely and memorable experience.

Our cool and comfortable one bedroom carriage house in lovely Bloomingdale has a modern luxury feel. It comfortably fits three and is centrally located in one of the coolest neighborhoods in DC. Enjoy a private deck, and easy access to the metro!
Its a bright and beautiful one bedroom/one bath in a renovated carriage house. Two large windows in the living room, a dining table to seat 4. Open kitchen with everything you might need. The bedroom ( located on the second level) has a full bed, comfortable for a couple and leads to a private deck to enjoy the beautiful DC skyline. The living room sofa folds down to sleep one additional guest (or maybe two kids).
Located east of Logan Circle and directly north of the US Capitol building in the NW quadrant, Bloomingdale is known has the warmest and friendliest neighborhood in Washington, DC! Visitors often remark that it is so close to everything, yet has the pleasant feeling of being tucked away from it all.
  • I messaged Syga quite a few times prior to the trip with various questions and he was prompt at responding. The apartment is exactly what it looks like in the photos. It's modern and basic; just enough for a comfortable place to crash while spending most of the time outside the apartment enjoying the city. I used to live in DC and was familiar with the area. It's central to the Mall and the northwest neighborhoods. The Fireplace restaurant just around the corner from the apartment was a lifesaver in the unusually snowy weather! The apartment is heated by space heaters, which kept the space warm, but made the air a little dry. Overall, this is a great value and I would love to come back in nice weather to enjoy the deck!

  • Great apartment, very clean and in good location.

  • Beautiful place in a great location. Comfortable and stylish. Highly recommend.

    Jaclyn2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Syga's carriage house was very well maintained and was exactly as described. It was really nice to have some outdoor space. The kitchen was kitted with everything you might need. It's a bit far out of town but I knew that before booking. It wasn't an issue as getting into the centre was easy and I doubt you could find anything as nice for such a good price more central. Syga was very helpful with clear check in instructions and replied to messages/queries very quickly. I would definitely recommend a stay here and would do so again if I ever return to DC.

    Louise2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house itself is absolutely amazing. Modern, cool decor, awesome terrace! However, it is quite far from everything apart from the two pubs round the corner. If you don't mind taking uber everywhere, this is a very lovely place. It can also get a bit scary at night. Maybe it's just Washington DC.

    Jim2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Syga's place! It was a quick uber ride to all the sight seeing downtown. A lot of cool restaurants nearby. The place was very modern and the deck was a great touch

    Spencer2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish carriage house! The balcony was very large

    Usa2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Syga was a wonderful host, we met him a few times during our stay and he was always helpful and described what was available in the local area. The instructions provided were very clear and the description of the house was accurate. The house is very spacious and the balcony is a great place to unwind after a busy day. The location is great and you can easily walk to the National Mall.

Enjoy your stay in DC in a small, cute, sunny, private cottage with a kitchenette, cable tv, and a private full bath. Located in a quiet neighborhood convenient to The National Mall, The Capitol Building, and great restaurants.
Private cottage with private entrance features a queen bed, private bath, cable tv, a kitchenette, WiFi, heating and cooling controlled by you and clean towels, sheets and bedspreads. This is a very small house and in order to maximize the storage possibilities the bed is about a foot higher off the floor than a regular bed. We have a stool to help you but if this will be a problem you may want to look into another place to stay. Conveniently located to Union Station, The Capitol Building, The National Mall, H Street/Atlas District, Eastern Market, great restaurants, and public transportation. Most of these locations are easily walkable or if you prefer to bike or take public transportation that is convenient too. This cottage is in our backyard. We have a table and fire pit in the backyard that you are free to use if we are not. There is a field behind our house where we and many other neighbors enjoy playing soccer. We have 3 kids ages 6 - 9. Check In is at 2pm. Check Out is at 11am. If you arrive early and would like to leave your bags in our storage room let us know and we can work that out!
Capitol Hill is a very family friendly, walkable neighborhood. There is a field behind our house where neighbors enjoy playing soccer. We are walking distance to a few parks, Eastern Market, H St./Atlas District and some great restaurants.
  • This tiny house is adorable! The cottage did not feel at all claustrophobic and Linden provided all of the conveniences of home. Check in was super easy, too!

    Marni2017-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A great weekend in a tiny house! We had fun and enjoyed our holiday weekend visiting the city and staying in Linden's cozy cottage. It was just as described and pictured! Very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay.

    Lora2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place to stay! Your own private little house with so many amenities and extras -- little kitchenette, coffee, little foldaway table, TV, etc. Great if you like privacy. Linden is a wonderful host. Love the guestbook too!

    (EMAIL HIDDEN)2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the tiny house! It was a small space but had everything we needed & checked all the boxes: great location (quiet but close to good restaurants), very clean, cute/hip minimalist decor, comfy bed (the bed is bigger than it looks in the picture), & excellent WiFi. Coffee, yogurt, & granola bars were supplied along with plenty of clean towels. Linden introduced herself to us and was very kind and welcoming. I can't fault this place for anything, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Jess 2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • LOVE the tiny house! Linden was great and very responsive the entire trip. Location is a short uber ride away from Capitol Hill, Downtown, U and H street. Plenty of space in the tiny house, even with 2 people. I highly recommend Linden's spot to any traveler or couple visiting DC!

    Caroline2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Linden was a wonderful host! The tiny house was exactly as it is pictured. We really enjoyed walking the neighborhood and felt safe. I appreciated the binder Linden provided with lots of helpful information.

    Shelly2016-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Linden's listing was as described. It was clean, cozy, well-equipped, proximal to public transit, and located in a quiet and residential neighborhood. The communication with the host was timely and appropriate. I had a very comfortable time staying there. Thanks for everything! AC.

  • This was our first time with Airbnb and it the best. The location of the place was in a residential area, and it was a 25 min walk from the Union Railway station(this is the place where all the sight-seeing tours start)But with a lot of luggage it better to take a taxi.It was pretty easy to find the place. It was a small backyard cottage at the rear of the house,a bit small especially as we were with luggage, but for a couple it is the best place.Even though we reached very late in the night it was easy to find and move into the house,as the passcode to enter was sent to our email address two days in advance. The beds and toilets were neat and (URL HIDDEN) had a tv, fridge, microoven ice cubes, lot of plugs for charging our devices.Clean toiletries, towels. Linden was very helpful in responding to our AIRBNB messages immediately. During the checkout we got to meet Linden and talk to her. They even let us keep our baggage in their backyard room,as the check-out time was 12 noon, we were able to finish our Washington DC sightseeing and then get back pick-up our baggage and leave. Overall it was a pleasant and cozy stay, will definitely recommend to our friends and relatives.

My place is in Northeast DC, close to the Brookland metro station (red line). I have a newly-renovated row home with a huge backyard, which you also have access to. Guests will have your own bedroom on the basement level with a queen bed and private bathroom. I hold a business license with the city of Washington DC to operate rental property. My home has been inspected and approved for occupancy.
Brookland is kind of a retro neighborhood...lots a cute bungalows, tree-lined streets, and friendly neighbors. There's also great new restaurants and Right Proper brewery less than two blocks away. And with Catholic University nearby, you'd be walking/biking distance to the metro, cafes and bookstore. Brookland is close to Northeast's most popular destinations - Union Market and H Street corridor - and was also just featured on Eater: (URL HIDDEN) Lots of good options to check out in the neighborhood and easy access to the rest of what DC has to offer.
  • I love the simple decorating style and was so happy that the basement wasn't cold (the heat had been turned on before I arrived). And I am jealous of the updated kitchen! I was in and out pretty quick but Roberta was very communicative. It was an easy walk from the Metro, perfect for my quick business meeting at Catholic University.

  • The place is pretty close from the museums and we took an uber, was like 10 dollars, the house was clean and really comfortable, our room was perfect for us, we just spend one night, the neighborhood was good as well! Was a great experience in D.C.

The home is beautifully decorated. The room was perfect - spacious with a large bed and a nice bathroom and well-heated. Couldn't have asked for more!

A 550 sqft studio apartment steps from Union Station, restaurants, grocery stores, shops and nightlife. The unit was recently renovated and we have updated the kitchen and bathroom, installed new flooring and painted throughout. It is a 100+ year old building & is right on a busy corner so be prepared for faint sounds of the city to come through the double-pane windows. Some features include automatic heat and A/C, a full kitchen with stove, range, microwave and fridge and a large bath with tub.
This space is perfect for individuals on work travel or for couples vacationing. It's not a large space but has plenty of room to be comfortable and stretch out. There are pots, pans, glassware, plates and bowls, flatware for anyone that likes to cook. There is also a full washer and dryer in the unit to freshen up your laundry. It would be a tight squeeze for three guests, but is doable with one person sleeping on the couch. There is a patio in the front and in the rear of the home the guests are welcome to use, including a chimenea (fire pit) for a nominal extra firewood charge. We will get pictures of the outside space posted shortly. Pets are allowed on a case by case basis, so please ask!
Stop by Bullfrog Bagels in the morning for a bagel or bagel sandwich and great coffee. Union Market is great for lunch, oysters and wine, and general people watching and noshing. The Big Board (right next door) has some of the best burgers in town and plays sporting events, Boundary Road across the street is a bit classier without the TVs. The US Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress buildings are a quick 8-9 block walk through a historic neighborhood. Metro access at Union Station can get you across town in minutes.

I would definitely stay here again if I ever found myself in DC again. It was perfect for me and my friend to stay in. Super clean, and a great location just a few blocks from Union Station.

Our micro guest house is close to Rock Creek Park, Petworth, and Columbia Heights. You’ll love this mirco because of the neighborhood, the coziness, and the convenient location. This space is good for couples and solo adventurers visiting the nation's capitol.
A unique micro guest house in 16th Street Heights with a loft bed, full bath, washer-dryer, and AC. Footsteps from Rock Creek Park, 14th & 16th Street bus lines, farmer's market, and neighborhood restaurant Swampoodle.
16th Street Heights is a quiet, residential neighborhood, but very walkable and just minutes away from restaurants and bars in Petworth and Columbia Heights.
  • Mingo communicated arrival instructions very clearly. I liked the place for its well provisioned compact kitchen that even had the basics stocked. I also appreciated the DC guidebook very much! The bed was firm but comfortable and the neighbourhood very quiet. It's very easy to hop a bus and there is a bikeshare a 5-10 min walk in either direction. Beware the one to the north as the screen was worn and hard to read. Mingo's place is good value (I'd say great were it not for the awful CDN to US rate these days!), and my only criticism is that the place could use a portable table to eat from at the couch as there is no dining area per se. Though we didn't meet, Mingo was on top of communications and very courteous. I would recommend his Tiny Home to anyone but people with small kids or the frail due to the ladder.

    Bryan2016-10-24T00:00:00Z

    Xueting2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic. We've been talking about staying in a tiny house for a long time, and the place delivered everything we wanted in that. All the necessary items were provided, and we were able to very comfortably stay in the space. The neighborhood wasn't too busy, which allowed us to relax after spending the day roaming DC and the surrounding area.

    Sara2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first time staying in a place from Airbnb and I must say that it was the best experience ever! I loved this place! Mingo was lovely to decorate the bed with rose petals and leaving a bottle of champagne as a request cause of my boyfriend's birthday and they left a super cute note on the board wishing him happy bday! The cutest loft I have seen, the decoration was perfect, the details of the books, the bed was comfortable and everything clean and organized, I highly recommend this place!

Enjoy a historic basement flat in DC with free parking! Amenities include a spacious bedroom with a queen bed and lots of natural light; a comfy living room with a huge Restoration Hardware leather couch, TV with Netflix, and popcorn for a cozy night in; a modern marble bathroom; a kitchenette with a coffee maker, kettle, mini fridge, and microwave (no stove for cooking); and a washer/dryer. A permit for on-street parking is included!
We love our 100-year-old home and we restored it ourselves. The apartment has original brick walls, exposed rafters, hardwood floors and all the quirks that come with a historic house. Sounds of life from upstairs such as creaky floors and the occasional barking pup are noticeable during the day but it is the rare exception for a guest to find it disruptive and we're always available to ensure you are comfortable! The bathroom is small but well designed. We provide a double air mattress with linens for a 3rd or 4th guest and a baby crib with sheets is available, too!
Bloomingdale is just north of the US Capitol building. You can see the Capitol dome from our street.

Washington's tourist attractions are only a short Uber ride away. If we are ever back in Washington there is no doubt that Kevin's place will be where we stay!

    Calvin 2016-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, I did not get to meet Kevin, but he was more than ready to aid and assist. The basement was absolutely beautiful!—spacious and roomy, but cozy all at the same time. Everything was arranged and already prepared for us, so there was no need for me to even reach out to him. I love that he took the time to leave a detailed booklet of some of his favorite nearby restaurants and attractions! The little notes and snacks left around the home were so thoughtful. I will definitely be booking again!!

  • The photos don't do it justice. Great amenities, decor, and upkeep. Kevin was a great host with the full complement of local guides, suggestions, and an immaculate apartment. You're not in city center but a ride in is easy and there's a good local strip on Rhode Island Ave.

It has lights and a ceiling fan. You can sit out there and relax with a glass of wine or maybe have dinner. If you have small kids, I have a car seat, high chair, Pack and Play, and a stroller. There are lots of restaurants near by, some with bars, 7-11, and fast food places within walking distance. Near the Metro station there is a shopping center with a Target, grocery store, more restaurants, movie theaters and several churches. If you arrive at National, Dulles or BWI Airports, Union Station by train or bus, I am usually available to give you a ride to and from the house. I am also usually available to give rides to and from the Metro station, (my van will hold up to 7 passengers). West Hyattsville and Prince Georges’ Plaza, both on the Green Line, are about 1 mile from the house. There is parking at both stations. If you are driving, my driveway will hold up to 4 cars. The house is in the Washington suburbs, not in the city. It is about a 20 minute Metro ride to the National Mall in Washington. It is a 20 minute drive to downtown DC. The house is also near the University of Maryland. I don’t have unrelated groups stay at the house at the same time, so if you only use 1 bedroom, you will be the only guest. If you use 1 bedroom, 2 or 3, if you are 1 person or 12, the cost is $70 per night for the whole house. I live in the house, stay in the fourth bedroom on the first floor and have 4 cats, Noah and Mabaline, Rigby and Waverly. The cats are very people friendly and love kids. Don't be surprised when your kids ask all day, "When can we go back and play with Noah?" If you have never done this, it may seem strange staying in someones house while they are there, but try it. I don't think you will ever go back to a conventional hotel. You get someone that knows the area and can help with all of your needs and all of the advantages of being in a house; kitchen, lots of space, wifi, wifi printer, Fios TV with HBO and Showtime, and parking. Everyone says that the best part of staying at my house is the kittens. You can't get that in a hotel. And the price can't be beat.
It is a very safe and family friendly neighborhood. It is becoming a very walkable neighborhood with stores and restaurants nearby.
  • It is worth going to visit Washington DC just to stay at Donna's place ! Our teenagers said that it was like staying at the home of an aunt they hadn't met yet. Donna is the most accommodating hostess we have ever encountered. Accommodations were above our expectations and now we have a new friend to boot.

    Dovid2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We just returned from 4 nights at Donna's house outside of DC and it was wonderful. We were a family of 7 and Donna accomodated us beautifully. It was fantastic to be able to use her kitchen for our breakfasts and dinners and it made our trip affordable. We will be recommending Donna's place to our friends. My husband also enjoyed talking history with Donna!

    Linda2009-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The stay with Donna and her three cats was just wonderful!!! It was our first experience with staying at someone's home and we don't regret it! You have enough privacy and Donna is always around if you have questions or some kind of problem. It is a perfect combination. The house was just amazing, so much details and so clean! If we ever come back to Washington,we're staying there again! I highly recommend this place! Just do it, you won't regret it!

  • It was so happy to find a place like Donna's and get to know a person quite amazing like Donna. She's incredible skill of life and she has so much passion to live the life and to be superb responsible to her guests. The three beautiful cats smart as human. They are curious to check you up and they are friendly and catty..sweet. Everything you forgot to bring with you on the trip, Donna though for you and prepare for you. Everything you are not expecting, she may surprise you. No one would like her. No one would be perfect even plus as her. Her place must have the high score too. 25 mins to downtown washington and with Donna's drive and drop off, it's like nothing. And her place in a great neighborhood, varies food choices. Walk in 5 mins. Hope someday I will come back again to washington, see Donna again. Take Care! HUGS XY

  • We spent 3 nights in Washington and had a lovely time staying at Donna's house. What a beautiful home! As it was our first time in Washington, it was great to have someone to give us directions and all the info we needed to find or way around easily. Definitely 5 star accommodation and Donna goes the extra mile to make your stay memorable.

  • Donna encapsulates hospitality, both an art form and a gift. Her kindness is only exceeded by her generosity. We couldn't have been more blessed with the accommodations and the host. She became a working member of our group and provided laughter, compassion and sincere appreciation. We also enjoyed her sweet babies, Noah, Digby and Mabaline. They were a constant source of enjoyment. We would love to stay again and hope to see Donna soon. We not only had a great place to stay but we have something even better, a genuine friend for life. Thanks again so very much for everything!!!

  • Donna is a wonderful host. She is willing and able to pick up people the airport on a moments notice. The accommodations are on par with 5 star hotels in the area. Donna's hospitality and knowledge of the area are valuable assets to anyone wishing to visit the area. I definitely reccomend Donna as a host.

  • As a family of 6 we find it hard to find affordable, comfortable accommodation. Donna provided this and much more. The rooms were spacious and we had use of the kitchen, 2 bathrooms a large games room and living area as well as her basement with much needed washing machine and dryer. Her kitchen was well stocked and she was happy for us to help ourselves. Donna was very helpful with advice about how to get around and where to eat. Our family felt that the local restaurant she told us about was one of the best we had eaten in during our month in the USA. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Donna's house and would recommend it highly.

  • Nadase's place was beautiful and exactly as described. The outside appears to be a regular old apartment building, but the inside is completely rennovated with beautiful finishes and high technology. She greeted us and showed us around/how to use everything. She even left us sparkling cider and cookies. The only hiccup we had was that the home wasn't ready at the designated check-in time. Nadase did, however, make efforts to accomodate us to make up for the lost time.

  • Beautiful place. Has it all!!

  • Met all my expectations very beautiful location to stay at and entertain guest. Host was very nice and made sure I knew where everything was. I will definitely return to this location.

  • This airbnb is definitely the best one I have ever stayed in. Everything was perfect and the condo had everything you could possibly need for a weekend. The pictures on the site does not do it justice, when you enter you will be amazed by the interior decorating, the space and the homely feel it gives you. I communicated with Nadese quite a bit before my arrival and a few times while in town and she always responded quickly. I tried to stick around to meet her by the people I was with got restless and was in a hurry to get on the road. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

    Javon2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nadase is a very sweet host and my fiend and I loved this stunning place! The loft is comfortable and beautifully designed. Strongly recommended! Thanks Nadase!

    Yaping2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nadase in herself was AMAZING. She was so very attentive and caring. She made sure to check in prior to our arrival, when we were there and even after we left. She is definitely THE HOSTESS with the MOSTEST! Her place, the LOFT was GORGEOUS! It exceed our exceptions. The pictures do not do it ANY justice and it is far better than you could expect. When you walk in its like stepping into a spa, a home away from home. My sisters, friend and I had such an amazing time. We would most defiantly stay at the LOFT again.

    Tracy2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay if you are visiting College Park. I loved having a washer and dryer in the unit, and there were plenty of places for everyone to sleep. There was also a full kitchen, and more televisions than I have ever seen before. I would stay here again if in the area.

  • Everything was wonderful! Annalee was very helpful and specific in letting us know how everything worked, and the cozy apartment was perfect for our short overnight stay. Couldn't have asked for a better or easier experience!

    Katie And Michael2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home with all amenities. Very personal. Annalee has great response time and is always willing to help. A great place to stay if you want to be near DC

    Jeffrey2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Annalee’s place is very lovely, had everything we needed and is only half an hour away from D.C. The neighborhood is quiet and family friendly!

    Saumia2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Annalee’s place is a good value for a short stay, but I was there almost two weeks. The biggest challenge is reaching the unit. It is a walk-out basement unit with no good path to the parking lot. The approach is uninviting and rather unkempt. The ground is uneven, and at this time of year it is covered with acorns. The only lighting is from motion-activated security lights, so a flashlight is advisable after dark. The apartment is clean. It could use a few more homey touches, but is serviceable. The kitchen is well-equipped, and it was nice to have a w/d in the unit. There is no thermostat in the unit, so you cannot control the temp yourself, though Annalee was nice about adjusting it on request. Verizon cable offers a very limited set of TV viewing options, but there is good WiFi.

    Linda 2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Pros - Place was as she described it. - It was surprisingly spacious but with a cozy feel. - Very smooth communication. Plus she checked on me the entire time I was there. Cons I think another reviewer mentioned difficulty finding it. I arrived later in the day and couldn't initially find it. - Definitely bring a flashlight or phone flashlight. Her motion sensor lights will kick on but the neighbors don't so you're partially in the dark. - Bathtub wasn't cleaned from the previous use but she corrected that once she knew. Everything else in the apartment was clean. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

    Victoria2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first airbnb experience. I was a little scared to try it, but this place exceeded my expectations. The neighborhood was really nice and quiet. There was a nice nature trail right in the backyard. I had no trouble finding the place even though I arrived in the middle of the night. Annalee sent me detailed instructions on where to park, how to find the apartment, and how to access the apartment. Once inside, it was just as pictured. It was really cute and comfortable. It felt really homely and I liked that. I didn't spend a lot of time hanging inside the house, but it was the kind of place where you could do that if you wanted to. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Juliette2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean, cozy, had some nice features. It came with everything you could possibly need. The only thing I didn't like is the fact it gets cold in the apartment and it doesn't have its own thermostat. I had to keep asking the host to turn the heat up which was every day through out the day but she had no problem during so each time I ask. When I first got there I also had a little trouble finding the unit because I didn't see the number from the back of the house then finally I noticed an apartment with the blinds open so I matched the furnitures with the ones from the add. I think i would definitely book it again but not sure if I would during winter time. But overall a very nice place to stay

    Alexandra2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is great for a few people to stay in during their travels. It looks just as it is described and worked for me as I only really needed a quiet, comfortable place to stay during the evening/night times for my trip. Annalee as a host was very communicative, and made sure to check in and ask if everything was alright; her interaction was very dependent on the amount I wanted which was great as I was very busy during my stay.

This private room in Berwyn Heights is on a quiet street, and has a queen sized bed, a large closet, and a desk. Also for your use is a full (shared) bathroom, living/dining room, and kitchen. A friendly, medium-sized dog lives here. The house is 2 mi from UMD/NOAA, 4 mi to NASA/Archives, and has a bus stop across the street to get to the College Park and Greenbelt Metro stations, each 1.5 miles away. Using public transportation, downtown DC (i.e., National Mall) is about 45-60 minutes away.
This room gets a lot of sun and overlooks the backyard. There is a queen size bed, desk, chair, and a reading lamp along with some books and brochures of local food and stuff to do. In the closet, you'll find an organizer, hangers, and extra blankets if you get cold.
We live in the middle of the Town of Berwyn Heights. The street is quiet, safe, and an easy 5 to 10 minute walk to Lake Artemesia, which has several miles of walking/biking trails. The area is quiet and safe, with many families living in the neighborhood. Greenbelt Plaza is a few blocks away and has groceries, restaurants, and more.
  • Alex's place is quiet and comfy. I stayed there while doing research, so the wifi and desk were perfect for me. Alex is very friendly and enjoyed chatting with him throughout my stay.

  • The place was exactly what we were looking for - a clean, quiet crashing pad while visiting for a nearby friend's wedding events. Their home is in a nice and safe neighborhood. Alex was quick to communicate and very accommodating. We didn't get to interact much in person, but Alex and Stephanie (and their dog Dalton) were very friendly and nice. Thanks all for opening your home to us!

  • This is a quiet neighborhood with a comfortable bedroom. Closet is large and the desk came in handy for our things. The bed is superb and the convenience to U of MD and DC is great. We had a very comfortable stay and appreciated the cup of tea after our busy long days in DC. Great to meet you Alex and Steph. Your willingness to share your home is very much appreciated.

  • This is the perfect place for a short stay at UMD: The room is very nice and perfectly clean. The neighborhood is quiet, no noise at all during the night. More or less 30 minutes walking to UMD on trails or quiet streets. Stephanie and Alex are very accommodating, there if you need them, but not intrusive. Thank you!

  • The house is in a nice neighborhood close to the University of Maryland, so it's very convenient. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Alex was approachable and helpful. I stayed here for two nights to attend a conference at the university. It was a great stay overall!

  • Hannah was a lovely host. She was always a friendly face when I returned home at the end of the day and provided a clean and comfortable living space during my stay. Her home was also very close to a number of places to eat; it was nice to explore Greenbelt via foot in the evenings. Overall I had a great experience.

    Jen2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a nice stay at Hannahs Home. She was everytime helpful and friendly. The Home was very clean. Hannahs Home is nearby the Metro Services. Furthermore it is a quiet and safe neighborhood. With Hannah you'll get the all inclusive Programm.

    Giannis2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my short stay at Hannah's house. It was exactly what I was looking for--in the center of Historic Greenbelt, in one of the original 1930s houses, staying with a longtime resident who didn't mind talking about what life was like there. We had a really cool conversation on that, more than I could have hoped for. The location is great--It's only about a five-minute walk to the main area of shops, Roosevelt Center. Buses stop within that 5 minute walk too, so it's great if you don't have a car, although I did use a car service to get to the metro stop because I was running late. I enjoyed Hannah's down-to-earth personality and lack of pretentiousness. She was a good host, going out of her way to make sure my room had ample air-conditioning that I could set at my comfort level. She also let me use a little of her soymilk for my granola in the morning, which was very nice. The bed was comfortable, and the house clean, with a definite lived-in vibe that I was fine with. The only negative was that it took me quite a few tries to get the key turned correctly to open the door. I should note that I was checking in earlier than the official time, and I was grateful to be able to do that so I could drop off my bags. Once I figured it out, it turned and opened easily; just be sure to do an extra turn counter-clockwise (I think)!

    Jenny2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The experience went very well. Hannah was very warm, welcoming, courteous, and kind. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and there are a couple restaurants and a grocery store just a quick walk away, in case you forget to buy something for dinner. The location was ideally situated for anyone traveling to University of Maryland or NASA. Taking the metro into the District usually costs around $14-15 a day if you park at the station, but you can save a couple dollars by taking the bus, which runs regularly through the neighborhood. There are also a lot of different wooded tails for running or walking (probably biking too, but I don't bike).

    Mark2015-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah was a very courteous host. She was always making sure that I was comfortable with the accommodations. The location is really amazing. Very close to the bus stop, farmer's market, restaurants, and grocery store. Would definitely recommend!

    Violet2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah is extremely nice and would go out of her way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The place is exactly as advertised. It is old and you definitely notice that right away (eg. the bathtub is chipped) but the look doesn't really interfere with the experience and the house is overall well-maintained. The room is spacious and provides beyond basic amenities. The neighborhood is residential and vibrant with cool local stores and activities. It is on several bus lines so moving around is easy.

A private bedroom in a house in College Park, close to the Greenbelt metro station. We own the house and live in it with two cats. The house has 6 rooms, including unoccupied guestrooms which we offer for Airbnb. The room is downstairs along with a bathroom and two bedrooms (There are two other bathrooms in the house). There's a full size bed and a closet in the room.
Our house is solar-powered, we recycle and compost, and are always happy to host likeminded environmentally-conscious people.
Neighborhood is very quiet, for the nightlife you'll have to go to DC, which is 20-40 minutes (depending on where in DC) ride on the metro, from the Greenbelt metro, which is 10-15 min walk away.
  • Pavel was a great host, very welcoming and accommodating

    Erin2013-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Pavel & Sasha (& their flatmate) was excellent. They were welcoming hosts who gave me all the information I required before arriving, answered all my questions and gave me advice on where to buy groceries etc whilst I was there. The location was convenient for where I was working (in Beltsville), they even gave me a bike to use during my stay which was very much appreciated! They are sociable people and whenever they had friends round they always introduced me and made me feel welcome. Even with two cats, the house was clean and comfortable. I had the bathroom to myself for most of the stay, the bedroom itself was comfortable and private (the air conditioning was actually too effective occasionally in the evenings, so they even gave me a heater to counter this for the rare occasions I needed it, which was great!), and I always felt comfortable using the shared spaces. I would very much recommend staying here, from what else I have seen it's very good value too. I was here for a month and have very few quibbles about anything - the hosts and the house were just what I was looking for! Thank you all for an excellent stay.

    Emma2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice home with a good atmosphere. Very good location (Very close to two grocery stores, University of Maryland, and a short walk to the Metro). Great cats and Sasha and Pavel were very kind.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Pasha and Sasha house. The room is comfortable, big and colourful with a large balcony window, and the hosts are nice and friendly. The kitchen is well equipped and the laundry is available. The house is close to Greenbelt metro station (about 15 walk) and there is also a university bus stop at the end of the block. I recommend this room.

    Katia2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pavel is a very nice host. He suggested to take the metro from Reagan Airport and to give him a call to pick me up at Greenbelt station. His house is nice and located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, 15 minutes walk to metro. My room was clean and he provided me a towel, sheets, a comforter and a blanket. The house offers all things listed in the web. His roommates are also nice and the pets adorable(2 kitties and a dog). I would definitely recommend this house for friends that want to come to DC area, especially to UMD at College Park.

    Cesar Reinert2014-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet clean house full of friendly people (and two curious cats). It was a pleasure to stay by Pavel&Sasha!

    Petr2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • I was staying at Pavel & Sacha’s house for 10 weeks; the house and the bedroom are really comfortable and fully equipped. The bedroom is quite big with a good bed; I had enough space for my long stay. The bathroom was renovated and I shared it with another roommate. The house is cooled by a strong air conditioning system, really pleasant during summer. Pavel, Sacha and their roommate are nice and helpful, they loan me a bike, they loan me their guitar, give me information on different subjects (e.g. the best way to go to New York, etc.). They have two friendly cats; the cats won’t ever attack you. The house is located near the Greenbelt Metro Station, it’s the end of the green line. It allows a straight travel to DC, there are many buses (even buses to New York). To go to NASA, it’s only 30 min (15 min by walk, 15 min by bus (15X)). The house’s location is another asset.

    Raphaël2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I only stayed at Pavel & Sasha's home for one night. My overall experience was good. Sasha was very responsive to communication and very friendly. The room is in a finished basement and has a large window (a lot of natural light =)). The room and shared bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable, and Internet worked ok. The two cats were social an friendly.

  • Ashley was an excellent host. She was always available via messenger to answer any questions we had. The place was clean and cozy. It's in a residential area not far from dc, about a 25 minute drive to be exact. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to visit. Thanks Ashley!

  • Great place to stay if your passing through Baltimore.

  • Ashley is an amazing host and her home is warm and welcoming. She made sure to add special touches to it for myself and my fiancé and we appreciated every effort made. Especially the fact that she allowed for not 1 but 2 reservation extensions to be made! She is very professional and quick in her response time. The price is well worth it to have the privacy and intimate settings provided. The neighborhood is quite and has all your shopping needs located within a 5 mile radius plus a 7/11 for your conviene just 3blocks up the street. So if it is possible for you to visit and be a guest in her home I would definitely recommend it! Just be sure to return it the same way you found it because it truly is a comfort and home away from home!

Do you value a clean, beautiful, spacious home? Cozy, comfortable beds? Easy access to DC, UMD, shopping, a lake, and a national forest? Then look no further, you owe it to yourself to stay here. 5 minutes to the metro station (with ample parking). Bus at the end of the block. At home, cooks will love the high-end kitchen with complete utensils, a small charcoal grill, and herbs from the garden. Eat outside under the trees, and enjoy the backyard, air-hockey table, or practice shooting hoops.
Sunny and airy, and everything is fresh and clean for you. The house is fully renovated, and carefully furnished for a great nights' sleep. We provide fresh and clean towels, and comfortable bedding. We have a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. The water dispenser on the fridge has filtered water, you do not need to buy any bottled water. You can walk to the lake, which has a great trail around it, or to Greenbelt Park, a national forest with hiking trails. This location is absolutely unique in offering city access, and the peace of natural surroundings. Your hosts are responsive and helpful and will be quick to answer your questions and help you with information not covered here. Guests have reviewed various aspects of the house and location that might speak to your specific interests, so do take a look.
Our house is a short walk from a lake and a bike/walk trail system. It is very convenient to DC by metro, as well as the highway. Shopping is a 10 minute drive away. There are lots of good restaurants within 10-15 minutes driving, not including the wonderful choices in DC. Our favourites are Myoung Dong for Korean Soups, Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville or Takoma Park...and while you're in Takoma Park, Roscoe's and Republic are great as well, both for food and for drinks. A great local pub with home-brewed beers is down Rt 1, Franklin's. We love walking in Greenbelt Park, which is a replanted National Forest. It's just across Kenilworth Ave from the house, and a nice hiking, running or biking area. A lovely walk is around Lake Artemesia (our cover photo). Turn right out of the house, right on Vassar Drive, and as it loops left, you will see a trail on your right, taking you straight to Lake Artemesia. You can walk or jog there, and some people enjoy fishing there as well. College Park has a Farmer's Market on Thursdays from 5-9 pm at 1600 Edgewater Dr. There is sometimes music, food trucks, and of course, local produce!

  • Holly House is a gem! It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood with quick and easy access to 95 or local shops and markets. The property is well maintained and has everything that you could need for a stay. The air hockey table was a huge hit with our teens! Kopal's responsiveness and hospitality is unsurpassed. When we return to the DC area, we'll definitely stay at Holly House again. Thank you Kopal and Colin!

  • This was our first time using AIRBNB and staying in a house. My experience was great. The communication from Kopal was very good. Kopal responded to my questions within minutes. The home was immaculate. No other words can describe the cleanliness of the house. If you are going to be in the College Park / University of Maryland Area, I highly recommend staying in Kopal's home.

Even when I had trouble in house at night, Scott kindly helped me. There is a shopping mall and bus stop either for metro bus or shuttle bus for UMD in 15 min on foot. They are very good host and the house is awesome. I would like to book again when I visit to Maryland nest time!

cabin in back property, accessible to main house for bathing, toileting, cooking,(cabin has no water). my previous guest spent three months of hot summer finding the air conditioning and shade of trees to keep the cabin super cool. currently has just a new folding cot, but if a guest takes the cabin, host will be investing in a new full bed. ceiling fan with light, several outlets, and plans to install HDTV. Perfect for studying, writing, meditating.
Quiet, safe neighborhood, constantly upgrading, big yard for my three little dogs to run around!
Neighborhood is safe and quiet, with very nice neighbors, buses for schools and University of Maryland, Metro buses too.
  • This place is sooo cute. It's like a little house. It's very spacious. If you're looking for a place t stay where you want your own space. this will be just that. If you have a mini refrigerator and microwave in storage. Bring that to this listing and you will literally have your own place. It's less than 15 min from the UMD College Park. There is a 5 minute drive to IHOP and local eatery shops like Chipotle, the Shoppers, Target, etc. There is also a park down the street with a nice lake. This place is great for running, enjoying nature outdoors. It has so much potential. The advertisement is spot on. Marilynn is a great host. She cooks daily and offers you food every time. so if you are temporarily short on cash, you would be able to get a free meal if you're in need. I was able to park my car in the driveway too. This made me feel like I was at my own place. It was so cool. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the dogs. I'm actually someone with a phobia of dogs ever since one rottweiler almost attacked me when I was young. Since then I thought I got over it. But that's not the case. So I didn't stay long. Marilynne does a great job with the advertisement in making sure that you are comfortable with the fact that she has three dogs and how they behave. If you're a dog lover this would be a STEAL for you. However, if you're not then please take note of Marilynne's advertisement. This place is located in the back of the house. The back yard is full access to Marilynnes 3 cute dogs. So if you wake up in the middle of the night to go into the house to use the bathroom. Then the dogs will think you are a burgular and proceed accordingly. It takes time for them to warm up to you. Those who have dogs will know what to do. However, I did not know how to read them.

  • My business meeting ended late so I was running late. Something out of my control, could not reach host in time because I was rushing to the locate in traffic only to be locked out and left stranded because I did not meet the check in window Other host have alternate check-in systems leaving the door open OR if it’s not safe leave the key in a lock box and send you a code that only you will have for access. That is more fixable and convenient, I should have looked for that specifically in my search. I know we have to respect the host schedule at the same time it was a huge inconvenience for me Everything went well with my stay after the first day, but I am still upset I was not refunded for the time not spent there

mostly higher educated families with children, from various ethnic backgrounds (close to NASA, University of Maryland, several colleges, USDA farm and research facilities, a beautiful neighborhood, well-maintained by the city.
  • Marylinne is great, but the dogs are very loud.

    Luis2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Marilynne is a welcoming and caring person but sometimes that is not enough to make someone feel comfortable and safe in a home. She greeted me outside and showed me to a room that was not the room I paid for. She assumed I'd be more comfortable downstairs where there was a half bath and tv but I didn't have a private room since there was no door closing of the room itself. I didn't sleep for the first week because of the dogs barking; which was an on going problem if they heard squirrels outside in the middle of the night. Marilynne would try and be as accommodating as possible by asking me how my day was and offering me snacks and food for breakfast and dinner. Week 5 of my trip she asked if I could move to the master which I was so happy about... A door!! Not to mention my own bathroom. The next morning I woke up with ~16 bites on my arms hands body and legs and it got worse from there as I got more even if slept with a hoody and pants. I reported it to Marilynne and she brushed it off saying it may be poison ivy... She then stayed in the room the following weekend and got the same bites as I did so set up a fumigation that following Wednesday. After that I slept in the cottage but kept my belongings in the master so I wouldn't spread the bugs to the cottage. Not my ideal situation but I wouldn't try to stay anywhere else since I already paid for my rooming there. Overall it wasn't a great experience but I know I was thankful for Marilynne as a person and was not bitter about the situation since she is sweet and is trying her best though I could not keep this information to myself as it would be a disservice to hide it from the next guest coming in.

  • Avis is an excellent host, with a nice, quiet apartment in Greenbelt. She was friendly, and checked in occasionally to ensure all was going well. It's a short walk to the bus stop, and an even shorter walk to the lake, with the town center and shopping a short bus ride away. It's a small place if more than two people were to stay for an extended time, but for one, it was perfectly cozy! One bed, one bath with a kitchen and good living space was all I needed, and Avis' home provided that. Perfect spot for an intern!

  • I was looking for a quiet weekend surrounded by nature, and this experience definitely delivered. Avis' place is a three-minute walk to the lake, which was beautiful, serene, and great for a quick run or a long walk. The apartment itself was cozy and quite, with plenty of light coming into the living room and the bedroom. The walls are a little thin so I could hear the neighbors sometimes, but never at night. As a host, Avis was friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond. Definitely recommend.

We recently renovated our split-level home specifically to cater to Airbnb guests. Our spacious lower level was remodeled into TWO separate one bedroom apartments. Room #2 is smaller but has a larger television. Our home is conveniently located near Washington, DC, Baltimore, and the University of Maryland. We are two blocks from the main road, but our home is in a quiet neighborhood. There are many places to shop and eat!
Room #2 is a one bedroom apartment with all the amenities of home. Kitchen includes a full-sized refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, sink, and a single induction stove with pots and pans and cutlery for two. Although this room is smaller than Room #1, it has a larger curved television at 60 inches. The bathroom is a shower/tub with a sliding glass door. This room also has a gas fireplace, but it is disconnected. Forget something for your trip? 7-11, Wawa, and Rite Aid Pharmacy is within walking distance. Don't want to cook? Fast food options include McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Papa John's Pizza, Domino's Pizza, and Chinese food. There are numerous restaurants in the area that include American, Mexican, Korean, Tex-Mex, and Chinese Buffets. Grocers include Costco, Shoppers, Giant, and Aldi's.
We are two blocks from the main road, Route 1 and a few minutes from the highway. However, our neighborhood is tucked into a quiet area with convenience to shopping, eateries, and entertainment.
  • Cozy little spot to rest, room is clean. Helen and her husband are super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay, but we hoped we had better cooking utensils and a larger bed. Otherwise, great value and would definitely stay again.

  • The apartment is very cozy and feels like home. My boyfriend and I made a very last minute reservation (as in 5 hours before arrival time) and we arrived at the wee hours of the morning. They kept in contact with us before our arrival to answer any questions that we had and was very thorough in telling us where we could park, how to get the key, and came out to greet us even though we arrived at midnight. There was always a parking spot available when we drove back to the house. As a previous review stated, the walls are pretty thin as we are able to hear the other room. However, that didn't deter us from being able to sleep well in the comfy bed. We were given a tour of the apartment before we settled in. There is a rack with hangers for our clothes and there was also a walk-in closet. There was extra blankets and although it is chilly at night, the blankets helped keep us warm. :) The bathroom is also very clean and tidy. Behind the mirror are some essentials like a toothbrush, soap, and cups. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the accessible steam iron and hairdryer but there were a lot of things available to us. They were quick to answer our questions about the wifi and left us their number in case we had other questions. :) Great stay overall and the place was really close (walking distance) to a strip of restaurants, mini marts and deli's.

  • As advertised. A bit small for the price, however, more economical than most ads in/around D.C. Sufficient for the short term traveler. Upstairs neighbors can be a bit loud. Bus is about a 20 min walk, but, public trans will take about 1.5 hours to get into D.C. Car will take about 20 min.

  • When my flight landed at the airport i received a message from Saleem with all the direction to greenbelt metro station, it shows how much he cares about his guest. When I got to greenbelt metro station, it was raining. I called him, he came and pick me up and help me with my luggage .He is very helpful and kind. Everything was so fine and perfect in his house. Bathroom, kitchen and room was very clean. Internet speed was very good. If you need some thing, he is just a message away. He response very quickly and solve your issue you may have. The bed was so comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Bathroom has all shampoo, shower gel, soap and fresh towel. He offered me some food and fruits, i didn't use them but it shows his generosity. Chech out was so easy, i didn't see him when I left. The house is near Greenbelt metro station, less than 5 minutes walk . very convenient. The important thing is the neighber is very safe for night walk. It was a great experience over all.. Saleem was a very friendly, pleasant, responsible and respectful host . I highly recommend Saleem as a host for future guests. Thnak you Saleem for everything.

  • I was in Greenbelt working at NASA Goddard for a couple of weeks and I found Salem's place really convenient. It is close to the Greenbelt Metro station, and there are a couple of good grocery stores around. The bedroom is big and comfortable. The internet connection is fast, and there is a good air conditioner. The bathroom although a little old it's very clean, and the house in general stays in pretty organized conditions.

  • This home is in a charming, and quite community of College Park, Maryland. The house has a lot of character. It has a big spacious kitchen, and a counter with 2 chairs, were you can sit and eat. No TV or cable, but you can watch Netflix on your computer. The room was a good size, and had a nice sized closet as well. The bathroom was large, and pretty clean considering it is shared with tenants. Comfortable stay!

  • Saleem's place was nice and reasonably priced. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. It's only a five minute walk to the Greenbelt metro line. Saleem was an excellent host. Even going so far as to offer up some home cooking. He was very communicative, making sure I was happy with the room. I would definitely stay with him again.
