  • Lovely and cozy cottage with a great and interesting host. Great location.

    Davina2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spectacular place to stay! The apartment was clean, cozy and well supplied with what I needed. Andrew responded quickly to any questions and was an amazing host. He made sure to provide me with tips regarding the local areas and recommended places to visit. You also can’t be the view of the night sky. A truly amazing view!

    M2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Scragg Farm. The space was as gorgeous as it was cozy and it had the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. Andrew was lovely, had plenty of suggestions, and the loveliest pooch as well. Highly recommended, great jumping off point for hikes and walks.

    Sophia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew is a lovely host. We arrived very late in the evening but he came across to the cottage to greet us. We were welcomed with a lit log burning stove. The cottage is lovely. Very clean and everything you need. It’s a away from everything but only a ten min walk to the local, Idlers Bar. We spent two evenings there, the landlord and the locals were really friendly and welcoming. We hired a car to get around. Had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Andrews cottages. Would love to return one day

    Maria2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Andrew’s place has been my favorite Airbnb experience. The cottage itself is outstanding in comfort, cleanliness, and charm. But the real star is Andrew himself. His genuine hospitality is unparalleled.

    Tina2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew is a fantastic host, who provided lots of great suggestions for things to do and see in the local area. The house is nicely furnished, comfortable, clean and warm. We would very much recommend a stay here!

    Eoghan2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the last word, cosy as it gets

    Kevin2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice recently updated cottages, perfect for a solo or pair of travellers. Host is very friendly and communicative, a wealth of knowledge of local attractions and the general area as well. Easy to find with google maps but having your own car is a must as it’s a drive from the nearest towns, which for myself was great, the idea behind a farm stay not being in the city.

  • Such an outstanding stay. I was immediately greeted with tea and a warm meal. The hospitality was top notch. The room and location were also fantastic. Would highly recommend.

    Zachary2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gerry and Dorothy are amazing hosts, both always up for a chat. Each morning Gerry cooked and provided a full breakfast. The location was great, right on the Main Street, a close walk to the bus stop. The room was spacious enough with it’s own bathroom. The triple paned windows provided a quiet nights sleep as well. Would definitely stay here again if I was in Tipperary.

    Drew2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay while exploring the area around Tipperary. It is conveniently located - downtown is right there and there is a pub next door! Gerry is a great host - you will feel like you have found a new home.

    Melanie2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for one night after climbing Galtymore mountain nearby, Gerry and his wife were extremely hospitable. The rooms were well appointed and very clean and breakfast was lovely. It’s in the heart of Tipperary town and we found a lovely local pub called the Snooty Pig. Highly recommend

    Tony2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Gerry was a great host..very generous, made one feel very comfortable. Great conversations that included repeat guests! Thanks to you and Dorothy Gerry

A comfortable, quiet country house situated in scenic, rural Hollyford. Ideal for wedding accommodation. Continental breakfast provided, an abundance of teas, coffees and home-baked produce if available, private sitting room with TV.
We are a quiet country residence, but only twenty five mins to Thurles and Tipperary, forty minutes to Limerick and Cashel and one hour to Kilkenny.
  • A big thank you to Maureen and her family. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt comfortable. The breakfast is great and the little details like offering tea and cookies or setting the table for our breakfast were wonderful. It is a super nice and clean house. The family is very friendly and it was also no problem to speak with them about everything you want to know, so you can get nice advices from Maureen to plan your trips. The dogs of the family, which you mostly see in the garden, were a plus for us. Overall, this is exactly what Airbnb is made for, very friendly hosts trying to give their guests a good time. The room was very beautiful and very clean. We also could use a private living room. Thank you so much Maureen and your family

  • Irish hospitality is legendary and alive and well in rural Tipperary! Maureen was a great host and the house was as warm and welcoming. I instantly felt at home. Maureen was also keen to help with any aspect of my journey giving lots of useful information and offering relevant advice. Although there were other guests staying it was very quiet in my room and there was space for everyone with a guests lounge / tv room downstairs. An ideal place to unwind and slow down.

  • Hollyford Hillside Haven is a beautiful, peaceful place with nature all around yet within a reasonable distance of the railway station where you can go anywhere on a Eurail Pass (I think only for Australians though, must be bought there). Even with no car, the rural location was no problem because the hosts usually go to town anyway and are happy to give you a lift there and back. Everything is clean, comfortable and just lovely. Best is the warm, friendly people. Fabulous hospitality and also a great place to write or read or relax. - Penny.

Main bedroom w/toilet and two additional rooms, my town house has all mod cons, except TV, and is on the main Limerick Road into Tipperary. Opposite the Costcutters Petrol Station open until 11pm and 2min stroll to Corneys Pub. Free parking & great for any Galtee Walkers or Wedding guests. Bus/Train accessible.
So convenient ... but it does over look the main road so there is a price for every convenience.
Tipperary town hills are at the back of the house, great for a jog or after dinner stroll.

  • The house was marvelous, check-in was totally easy and we did not miss anything. Sally was always helpful and we would come again. Highly recommended! An extra hint for visitors: bring thick socks as the floor is rather cold ;)

    Maike2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a great place to experience some of the Irish countryside while still being close to local attractions, this is it. Only about 30 min from Limerick, this house was a great home base for the 4 nights we were there. It was beautiful, clean, and well stocked. We loved our time and would definitely stay here again if we are in the area someday.

    Leanna2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • My heart is full. Words cant describe the warmth and safety of Sally’s AirBnB. I wanted to see the land, farms and locals of Ireland and that’s what we got. We also saw all the tourist locations and city life and pubs and shops and so much more but what i really wanted is exactly what Sally’s home gave me. Peace , comfort and joy after a long day of traveling incredible, unbelievable beautiful Ireland.

    Pam2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Once again we had an amazing stay at Sallys. The house is beautiful with very high standard of decor and furniture. It's in such quiet rural surroundings, making it an ideal place to relax and take in the local area. We always feel at home and Sally is the ideal host.

    Maryanne2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is superb and a nice resting spot after a few days on the road. While located in the country it is central to all spots in Southern Ireland region from Limerick to Cork to Waterford and could be achieved in day trips. The house itself is fantastic with all the mod cons and it feels like your own home. Sally was great in communication and ensured we were all sorted with everything. We could not recommend it more highly.

    Warren2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about this place? It's extremely clean. The location is central to everything. Limerick is around the corner as well as everything else. Sally did a outstanding job on the home. Just for all you newbies like me the postal code is what you search to get to the house. Trust it, you'll be fine.

    Joshua2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s home was very modern and stylish and the photos she’s posted do not do it justice! You get an amazing view of the sunrise and are very rural but it’s perfect if you are planning to day trip around the countryside of Ireland. We traveled with an infant and Sally made sure we had a high chair and offered a cot as well. She was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed.

  • Tom was wonderful host. I cant even describe how amazing the cottage was. Perfectly clean and evrything was ready - as evryone here saying. If i ever return to Ireland i will definitely use this cottage again as temporary home. Honza

    Jan2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tom is a wonderful host! The cottage is lovely and the surrounding gardens are beautiful. Five of us were very comfortable here. The cottage is well stocked...from laundry detergent to toiletries. It was great to be able to do our laundry. Plus, you can hang your clothes on the line to dry (if you'd like, but don't have to as there is a dryer in the cottage)! Tom gave us suggestions for sight-seeing...everyone must see The Rock of Cashel. It remains one of our favorites. The village of Doon is a quick walk from the cottage, which I consider rural. We visited Kelly's Pub every night we were there. The locals were very warm and friendly. The only clarification I would make is that it is not as close to Limerick as we had anticipated, but once we settled in we were delighted with Doon. I would return in a heartbeat.

    Ddkzoss@Live.Com2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Small house very quiet, fully equipped, beautiful garden. Tom were waiting for us at Cotta Cottage and explained everything. Everything was perfect. His holidays will remain for us a wonderful memory.

    Lionel2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Such a perfect Irish experience. Absolutely everything we ever could have needed was available for us, down to extra outlet adapters, high visibility jackets (for walking at night), and even extra umbrellas. Tom went above and beyond to track our flight and know when to expect our arrival and was such a kind host and his cottage was just adorable. Doon is such a lovely tiny town, off the beaten path of the regular tourist traps, but easy drive to many famous spots. Wonderful warm and welcoming locals at the pubs and even small grocers made this trip absolutely perfect. We will be back!

    Kathryn2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Tom was fantastic. He provided us with his gorgeous home which was a home away from home. The cottage was absolutely divine with everything provided for. Complimentary biscuits, milk, coffee were a lovely touch. Tom was helpful with information about places to visit in the area. Ireland far exceeded our expectations and Tom's beautiful home and hospitality made our trip perfect. Thank you Tom.

    Ephtihia2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cooga cottage is very cute and quaint! Tom was very welcoming and showed us everything upon arrival. He is just a couple of doors down for any questions! The Wi-Fi in the cottage is top notch and handled all of our electronics nicely. Doon is a very sweet little town/village. We didn't explore it enough, but I would definitely suggest asking about a full Irish breakfast (let them know a day ahead) in the local cafe/market. The garden at the cottage is beautiful too. We hope to come back!

    Lucinda2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tom was very welcoming, and usually came over in person instead of responding to airbnb messages. He was always available and very helpful whenever there was anything that needed addressing. I stayed at the Cooga Cottage for 32 days, so there were multiple times where his attention was requested, and he was always there.

We are a typical Irish family farmhouse. We are surrounded by countryside and various animals. A real step a way from town life. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 twin.
The village of Emly is a quiet, rural village within easy access of Tipperary town and Limerick and Cork cities. In Emly we have a beautiful church, school, post office, shop, three pubs and a butchers shop.
  • Melanie’s place was so homey! I slept so well in the COMFY bed and the duvet was so so cozy. Arrival was a piece of cake and I was greeted at the door and served tea. Breakfast was amazing as well. I only stayed one night, but it was very obvious a lot of love lives in this house. Would be happy to book a stay again!

    Kimiyo2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly charming and wonderful stay!!! We only stayed one night, but we absolutely loved our time there in a gorgeous house in a gorgeous location! Melanie is so friendly and helpful. Waking up to such a lovely view and having breakfast by the fire was one of the highlights of our trip. Would love to come back for a longer stay.

    Kristin2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first stop on our trip to Ireland and it couldn’t have been more idyllic. Melanie’s home and property are absolutely stunning. The room had wonderful views of the mountains in the distance and pasture in the area. The room was sparkling clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. We arrived very late and were greeted by Melanie who accommodated our check-in and made us tea to take to our room. Her morning breakfast was delicious, complete with eggs, sausage, toast, coffee, and served in a cozy separate dining room. We were able to walk the grounds and meet her family during our stay. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful and easy bed and breakfast experience. Only regret was that we didn’t stay longer! We will definitely be coming back.

  • Wonderful home and owner, so friendly and helpful. Andrew was great with tips and helping us out. We wish we had more time to spend in this beautiful Farmhouse, location for us was great, we wanted to be in the country and about 30 minutes from Limerick City, which was good for us. The farmhouse is beautiful and decorated with great little touches. Will definitely love to come back and stay. All the travel books and pamphlets in the house were great too. Andrew even lent us a map one day. Great host, super friendly which we love - thanks again!

    Kimberly2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at Andrews. Such beautiful surroundings and so helpful. After a plane delay Andrew was still there to greet us despite having to get up at the crack of dawn the next day. Helpful and knowledgable would definitely reccomend

    Teresa2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • A very spacious and well equipped comfortable period property with a great rural setting and fabulous 'dark skies'. Andrew is very amenable and a mine of local information, he is responsive and a real help if you get stuck. The local pub is a short walk away but do arrange to have Hi-vis and torches as the narrow country roads are not suitable for long walks. We stayed in the 3 bed unit in October, the cottage was lovely, warm and cosy, the facilities are first class for a short break and it's in a quiet spot away from any farm or overhead noise. My elderly father was very comfortable on the ground floor with his own shower room and easy access to make a cuppa in the kitchen at night. It's a truly lovely spot to relax but a couple of miles by car from the nearest a shop/off license, so buy some provisions in town on the way if you plan a late or early arrival, most garages sell provisions on the road in. On site hens for fresh eggs, a dote of a doggy to pet and external seating for nice weather. This is rural Ireland at it's nicest.

Very peaceful and tranquil surroundings looking out on the beautiful Doon Hill and the Galtee mountains. Situated mid way between Limerick City and Cashel making a great spot for those touring the mid west. Our house is home to two blind cats which we adopted from a local rescue shelter so animal lovers most welcome.
A peaceful hideaway on the outskirts of the village of Doon in Co Limerick. The room has a king size bed. The en-suite features a large shower area complete with a sauna and there is a beautiful deck outside looking up at the local hills.
The property is situated within walking distance of the village which is a small quite place home to a grocery store, garage, hardware shop, chemist, post office and five pubs. There is a traditional music session each tuesday night in Moore's Pub and if you play an instrument or sing a little you will be most welcome and encouraged to take part. We have a great GAA club and Field and a walking track. Doon has also a great playground for the children which is open daily.
  • Our stay at Norah's exceeded our expectations. The room with an en suite bathroom+sauna and a nice decking area out back feel more like an own flat then a room. Norah and her husband we're really welcoming and friendly and everything was really clean and tidy. A big plus was that we could use the barbecue and pooltable which we really enjoyed. Great place and really friendly people.

  • Drive out of your way to stay here. You will not be disappointed! The hosts are terrific people who are easy to talk with and they offer great suggestions. When looking for their place keep an eye out for solar panels on the roof and red brick on the corners of the house, which is on the north side of the road.

  • This property far exceeds expectations and the hospitality from the owners is second to none! Nothing was too much trouble, the continental breakfast in the morning was plentiful, with freshly baked bread, direct from their shop across the road. This is one of the best examples of Airbnb we have seen to date.

  • I think many of the reviews from before have summarized what a wonderful place this is. Our hosts Bridget and Michael we’re so very accommodating. To arrive on a cold winters day to the roaring fire and a lovely house was absolutely fantastic way for an overnight with friends. The pub which is all of one minute away is lovely. What I’m really impressed with and Bridget in particular just knows the requirements of her guest . Many a five-star hotel could learn a lot from such great customer experience thank you

The house was spotless and when the fire was lit it was warm and cosy. The bed was comfortable and the rooms very warm when the heating was on. The nearest neighbour Mick O'Dwyer was very helpful and good craic. Anyone looking for peace and quiet and a chance to recharge the batteries (Thanks Mick) this is the place for you. • Gill lives on a farm right next to Monard's level crossing, 2 minutes away from road N24 and 10 minutes away from Tipperary town (by car) . The rental place is a beautiful cottage next to the stables and in front of the main house. The living room has a cosy fireplace, a flat screen TV with a working chromecast and a well equipped kitchen. The room is small but perfectly clean and both beds are very confortable. The private bathroom is across the corridor, again small but clean and functional. Wifi works well in the entire house. Gill and her beautiful family went above and beyond to make me feel home, they make the Irish's famous hospitality and kindness proud big time! Would definetly recommend staying with them :)

  • This is a lovely quiet rural retreat. I had a short stay here to attend a local historical commemoration event and found Gill to be a very helpful and pleasant hostess and I was made to feel really welcome. • My husband and I stayed at Andrew's place in the middle of March. We spent the week there and loved it. It is out of town, but never seemed to far away. We liked the idea of having a "home base" instead of finding a new place every night. We stayed for 6 nights and we visited Blarney Castle, Ring of Kerry, Limerick, Shannon, Cliffs of Moher, Rock of Cashel, Rock of Dunmase, and Bunratty Castle. We were able to do all of these with early starts and able to be back in the evenings to just chill. The fireplace was lovely and the cottage was great to just relax in after the day. There were guest in the other side of the cottage some of the nights we were there and could not hear anything through the walls. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals, so stopping at the store and buying our groceries helped alot. We often did breakfast and dinner in the cottage while ate lunch out. Andrew was great to sit and chat with for a while and was so full of knowledge and his love for his land and the entire area came shining through. During our stay was when the Corona-virus really picked up, and the government shut down Ireland, we were blessed to be able to do everything we wanted before it all shut down, but Andrew was great to make sure we were well aware of what was going on. We were still in Ireland when the travel ban to America took effect, but managed to make it home with very little problems. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to people who don't mind being off the beaten path!

    Jen2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous hideaway from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to it if that’s what you’re after. Andrew is a great host

    Maurice2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Andrew's! He greeted us along with his beautiful dog Storm who was absolutely lovely. His place definitely has a cabin-feel with amenities such as stovetop, small refrigerator, woodstove, electric heater, etc. We found the bed very comfortable and stayed warm through the night. We also really liked walking to the nearby pub (the Idler Bar) that Andrew recommended. Overall we had a great stay. We would stay here again especially if it meant more time with Storm!

    Kristy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was the perfect host, with a warm welcome and quick to respond to communication. The property is wonderfully located - a peaceful rural setting just a short drive to Limerick city. The place was clean and cozy - ideal for a mini break.

    Maurice2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place. Peaceful, quiet and cozy. Log fire was super. For a break away from the outside world, complete relaxation, this is the spot. Will defo be back again. Stars at night amazing.

    Ellie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s cottage was perfect. We had ample space, we were able to cook up a majority of our meals right there at home, and he gave awesome tips for what to do in the area (and all over Ireland really). We’d highly suggest this pristine getaway. His property is gorgeous, and we didn’t want to leave.

    Chelsea2020-01-07T00:00:00Z

My room was so cute, very clean, and had a beautiful view of the cute street below. Breakfast was at a time I picked and was a classic Irish fry up. Coffee and tea as well as cereal and oj, I felt like royalty. Not an incredible amount to do in Tipp Town, but I would 150% come back to tipp town purely to stay here and to visit Gerry and Dorothy again. 10/10 would recommend, didn’t want to leave, would live there if I could. Mitchelstown Cave is a limestone cave near Burncourt, County Tipperary. There is a lake deep in Mitchelstown Cave in a part not open to the public. Local folklore has it that whoever crosses the lake will never return. The story goes that a piper once crossed the lake and he became so engrossed in his music and the natural acoustics of the cave that he got lost in the maze of passageways. To this day some visitors still imagine they hear music coming from distant caverns. It is an exciting way to pass a few hours and is also a 30 minute drive away. Why not explore Ireland’s greatest inland mountain range. The Galtee mountains stretch over 20km from Mitchelstown to Cahir and offer a myriad of hiking options with fantastic views. • Possibly the best Airbnb experience you may find in Ireland. Centrally located to many of Ireland’s primary tourist destinations, this country manor is spectacular; from the well manicured gardens and landscaping, to the charming home with happy inhabitants. Melanie and Ken truly go the extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable. And if you’re fortunate enough to stay for breakfast, it’s one you won’t soon forget. Our only regret is not staying longer.

    Peter2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie and her husband went above and beyond after our schedule and plans went a bit out of whack. They met our potential nuisance with kindness and understanding. Their home is tucked away in the countryside, and they’ve quite possibly the most adorable doggies in Ireland — Rabbit and Fleur were the perfect button on our stay. They also had a beautiful, friendly kitten that showed up to say “Hello!” (warning, he seemed to like my sister more then the men-folk!). ;) Thank you, Melanie! We’re grateful for making our stay so comfortable!

    Thomas2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was the perfect place to relax after a very long trip. The most comfortable bed I have slept on on my whole journey and the loveliest family and kids. Thanks Melanie for your wonderful hospitality. Will definitely visit again!

  • The room is very pretty! The bathroom is extravagant. Melanie was so kind. I love that there was a desk in the room so I could do some writing and reading. This was a great experience! Would love to come again and stay for longer.

  • Melanie's place is tranquil and relaxing. Very clean, bedroom was very comfortable and great shower. Enjoyed my stay. Melanie and family are lovely people. Would highly recommend.

  • Melanie's house was a lovely get away in the country. Driving up and seeing ponies in the paddock made me really feel like I was staying in a special place. The bedroom was cute and bathroom clean. The house is close to many Castles and can be accessed by car primarily. There is a small shop/grocery within walking distance and a pub close by.

  • Melanie welcomed both of us into her warm home and offered detailed advice about the local area. Couldn't recommend her more!
