Explore the South West Coast Path, then snuggle up for a relaxed night on the quaint, checked sofa at this cozy, single-storey cottage nestled in a shared courtyard. Whitewashed stone walls, pastel-hued panelling, and soft cream creates a snug feel.
Set in Marldon Village, these lovely former farm conversions nestles within a courtyard setting and is the perfect couples retreat or small family holiday
The house is in the charming village of Marldon, close to the seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham with their quirky shops, pubs, restaurants, and galleries. The sandy beaches of Torre Abbey Sands and Goodrington Sands are also nearby.
  • Jasmine cottage is situated in a quiet but central area of a lovely Devon village. We found the cottage in a converted barn warm and welcoming on arrival. Very well designed layout with an open plan living dining kitchen area and 2 ensuite bedrooms arranged on each side. The cottage was spotless, beds comfortable and linens and towels high quality. Lovely walks around the village and Church inn does an amazing Sunday roast. Really recommend its location.

  • The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience

  • Great place & great host!

  • Our family absolutely loved the Old Mill Cottages. It was so warm and we felt at home on our 9 day stay. We all agreed we couldn’t have found anything better for our trip. We will definitely book again :). Thank you!!!

A luxurious, rustic haven away from it all. The luxury bits: French linen bedding, robes, soft towels & toiletries, woodburner, a good book, no street lights...You'll probably sleep better than you have in years. The rustic bits: There's a simple compost toilet, hot water in a generous sink and flannels, but no shower.
Our guests often say their stay in the cabin felt like a little pause from the real world. A moment to recharge. We've left it as simple as we can, without foregoing any of the little things that make relaxing time out peaceful and happy. The kitchen is properly equipped, including a fridge and little Belling oven, there's fresh ground coffee, tea, herbs teas, sugar, and a selection of board games, books, and off-the-beaten-track magazines. But our wifi doesn't reach the cabin, and we've not made any attempts to change that. If you do need access to the internet, you are welcome to pop into our house and connect to our network, but we also suspect that you'll be quite glad of the excuse to ignore your emails for a brief moment.
Landscove is a pretty and highly sought-after village in the South Hams. A village hall, a fantastic gastro pub, primary school and church are about the only things that interrupt the organically-farmed fields and Devon lanes, and with no street lights in the area the nights are blissful, and the stars shine bright.
  • The cabin was so cosy and a perfect little retreat. It was decorated very stylishly and everything was clean and comfortable. Linen bedding was an unexpected surprise! Would definitely return!

    James2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute cabin spacious yet cosy and the fire kept us toasty even on really frosty mornings! Thanks for making our weekend extra lovely

    Alex2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin that is amazingly snug with an excellent stove, a comfy bed with gorgeous linen. I slept with the window open and was enchanted by the ethereal full moon. I was serenaded by my favourite country sounds on waking early (my normal habit) - the cockerel and the chattering crows wheeling in the sky above the cabin. A wonderful place to retreat and go within, and close enough to "Ben's" to stock up on good food

  • Quirky cute cabin - everything new

    Katie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really excellent AirBnb, clean comfortable and a bit quirky, with some nice, unexpected touches such as the chocolates! Must be even better in the warmer, dryer weather, when you can sit out on the verandah.

    Nigel2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend at The Cabin, it’s perfectly located for both Dartington and Totnes, being so close to the Footpath along the beautiful river Dart. Our children loved the well thought through, playful space saying: “I liked that the beds were in the roof” (Maisie aged 10) “I liked the homely feeling it had, it was comfortable and it didn’t take long to settle down” (Henry aged 12). Georgi and Pete were very friendly and helpful with excellent, hassle free communication. We thoroughly recommend this lovely little bolt hole in the South Hams.

    Tony2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Warm comfortable cabin with nice glass windows to let in tons of light. Very well designed cabin, with seemingly everything you would need for cooking right there. The sleeping loft , the bathroom all were very well build and made it a pleasure to stay in the small cabin because it was so well done.

    Daniel2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely delightful. The cabin is cosy and comfy, and just gorgeous in every way. Thanks Georgi and Pete!

    Rachael2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay in The Cabin. Just as described and lovely and warm inside. Had everything we needed and more space than I imagined. Lots of thoughtful touches and we loved the eco friendly products to use. An added bonus was only a minute away from the river Dart and lovely running/cycling/walking paths, so some lovely morning runs. My only problem is, it was so lovely my daughter wants one built at home to the same standard. We will definitely use this again when visiting this area.

    Mandy2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Georgie offers a very warm welcome to the cosy cabin at the bottom of her garden. The cabin is very clean and homely.

Gybbes Lodge is part of a 600 year old Manor House set in the heart of the Devon countryside. It is a converted old stone barn which forms one side of an ancient courtyard. It has character and charm in abundance combined with modern comforts.
Furnished with antiques and full of character, Gybbes Lodge is a wonderfully spacious and peaceful home. Children however are very welcome as we have two of our own. It is set in the heart of the countryside but is close to the village of Dartington and the charming ancient town of Totnes on the river Dart. We are surrounded by the most beautiful countryside. Dartmoor is ten minutes drive away and there are numerous lovely beaches nearby - beaches which are perfect for children or, if you like walking, the stunning South West coastal path will lead you to hidden gems. The South West of England is full of places of historical interest - ruined castles and stately homes - or if you prefer a lunch in an old country pub we have lots of those! The River Dart, which is nearby, meanders through the countryside to the sea. If you want to explore it, you can visit quiet villages, take a boat trip or a steam train or just potter around the beautiful coastal town of Dartmouth with great shops and restaurants. There are so many delicious places to eat round here. We have fantastic farm shops selling local produce of all sorts, great cafes in Totnes selling everything from cream teas to vegetarian delights. We also have great fish restaurants nearby as we are so close to the sea.
We love this part of Devon for its wonderful beaches and stunning scenery, for its rich history and its great local food.
  • Beautiful period property nestled in the countryside but with lots of amenities close by including several historic pubs that were beyond charming and very welcoming . This character filled home was warm inviting and the perfect location for a family reunion and 60th birthday celebration - will be fondly remembered.

  • We stayed at Teresa’s place for NYE and had the most amazing time! The place is beautiful and Teresa and her husband were very quick to help us with anything we needed. We brought our little pooches and they loved it too!

    Louisa2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Teresa’s place over Christmas. It is a lovely 15th century detached barn conversion, with a real homely feel to it. Teresa is also a very attentive host. We would highly recommend this place!

    Nathanael2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space, the photos don’t do it justice! Teresa was very helpful and replied very quickly to any questions. Would highly recommend.

  • This lodge is so comfortable you won’t want to leave. The kitchen is very well stocked if you intend to cook. The living room is very spacious with two very comfortable sofas. So lovely for us to sit in front of the wood burning stove. The en-suite shower is powerful and everything spotless. Teresa was there to welcome us and make sure we knew how the heating worked etc and left milk in the fridge and a welcome cake and bottle of local elderflower juice. Great location as it’s only a very short drive into Totnes. We stayed for the weekend but wished it was for longer ! Thank you Teresa

    Joan2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place to stay - a stunning character medieval barn conversion in a lovely location, with its own entrance and parking. The open plan kitchen/dining/living area felt really spacious, and it is comfortable, warm and well-equipped with beautiful furniture, fixtures and fittings, as well as a very nice wood-burning stove. The bedrooms and bathrooms are equally inviting - great beds, furniture and linens, very tastefully decorated and extremely cosy. It will be difficult to return to Totnes and stay elsewhere...very highly recommended!

  • Tim and Linda's flat was absolutely perfect. It was comfy, warm and cosy with so many little extras that we weren't expecting. We were severly delayed checking in due to storm Dennis and Tim was still friendly and welcoming at 10.30pm. Giving us a full show around the flat and making sure we were settled in. They provide everything you could possibly need and a great range of food for breakfast, including eggs from their chickens! Fab stay!

  • Upon my arrival I was greeted with a very warm welcome by Tim and Linda who showed me around the cottage. I was genuinely impressed by their hospitality and attention paid to detail, they have thought of everything to make you feel at home and provide you with a comfortable stay. Many food items were provided including bread, butter, sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, milk, cereal, tea, coffee and other cooking essentials. Located in a peaceful and picturesque spot on the edge of the moors, Tim and Linda’s cottage is excellent value and a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area, I would definitely stay here again! :-)

The barn is surrounded by countryside in the popular village of Broadhempston which has two pubs and a community village shop. The village is close to Totnes and the stunning coastline of the South Hams. It is also within easy reach of Dartmoor National Park and the popular tourist resort of Torbay.
Originally a cider Barn, now converted into a unique living space, the accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a bathroom and downstairs toilet. There is a private outside garden and courtyard parking for 3/4 cars.
Broadhempston is a lovely rural location with a close community feel. There are two pubs, and the village shop is run by the community. We are surrounded by a wealth of home grown and organic produce, Riverford organic farm shop is 3 miles away. Nearby Totnes hosts a wealth of independent shops and food outlets.
  • A wonderful cottage, which provided a great backdrop for a Devon wedding we attended.

  • This place is beautiful. Perfect for an escape to the countryside. It had everything we needed, was so homely and plenty of space. Sophie is a fantastic host and we had an amazing weekend staying here. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Natasha2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The old cider barn is in a picturesque Devon village, a few miles from the main roads. Accommodation is comfortable, clean and spacious, with lots of light and numerous artistic touches. The village shop and a couple of pubs are within walking distance. Sophie left us with supplies for snacks and breakfast, as well as lots of information about nearby attractions. Local roads can be very narrow, so it would be wise to check with the locals on which roads to use rather than rely on Google maps!

  • Fantastic Cider Barn conversion in a beautiful quiet location. We really enjoyed having the property as a base to explore Devon. Would highly recommend.

  • Perfect in every way. The property was breathtaking in a superb location only a few minutes walk from 2 super pubs. 3 lovely bedrooms, super clean and the nice little touches make it a delightful place to stay. We have stayed in many places over the years and this is certainly one of the best we have stayed in. Super hosts. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

    Jane2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful & spotless. Communication with our hosts was easy & they offered suggestions as to where to eat nearby. The location is lovely & quiet, but not too far to drive from local villages & beaches, with a few nice pubs within walking distance. Would recommend this place!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A beautiful and quaint cottage with a unique character.

  • Excellent location for Dartmoor, Totnes, Ashburton, Newton Abbott, etc etc. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, two excellent pubs in walking distance - local shop too with bigger shops 15 mins away by car. Comfy beds, comfy sofa - everything you’d want for either a chill-out - or a base for exploring

The Bough House is a secluded, self-contained cabin nestled in the heart of the South Devon countryside. Tucked away on our peaceful organic vegetable farm, between Dartington and Buckfastleigh, the cabin offers a private retreat with its own drive and secure parking. Whilst situated in quiet rural surroundings, it also provides a great location to explore the best South Devon has to offer.
The Bough House is situated in a quiet rural location set well away from the main farm house and has its own entrance, driveway and secure parking. Inside is a light open plan space with a king-sized bed, kitchenette, modern ensuite and log burner for those cosy nights. Outside there is a decked veranda which leads to a small garden area with outdoor seating, all surrounded by fruit trees. The built-in king-sized bed has a comfortable pocket sprung mattress and quality 100% cotton bed linen. There is also an in-built sofa next to the log burner. The accompanying ensuite bathroom is modern with a toilet, sink and shower. The kitchenette has a double induction hob, microwave, toaster, fridge and sink. The Bough House is a great location to explore the best that South Devon has to offer. Situated on a side valley of the River Dart, it is 6 miles from Dartmoor National Park known for its granite tors and wild walks. The location is quiet and peaceful with birdsong and the occasional distant sound of the South Devon Steam Railway as it winds its way along the river. It is also an area of natural darkness with incredible stargazing opportunities. The historic Dartington Hall Estate is 2.7 miles away with listed gardens and arts centre including live events and independent cinema. A little further (1.5miles) is the trendy medieval town of Totnes with its vibrant high street and many independent shops, cafes, restaurants and independent cinema. It also holds weekly markets on Friday and Saturday mornings. Buckfastleigh is a couple of miles away with Buckfast abbey, the south Devon steam railway and otter sanctuary. The Bough House is also an excellent location to explore the beautiful unspoilt South Devon coast.
  • Bough House is a lovely place to stay. There were lots of little touches that made the stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend if you want a rural getaway.

  • This is such a lovely cabin - I came for a few days rest and recuperation and loved every minute. Perfectly equipped, super-cosy and dry, comfy and clean - superb communication from my hosts at the farm and no disturbance. Perfect for a retreat or a getaway, I left knowing I'll be back before too long. Thank you!

  • What a fantastic cosy little place. Just like the TARDIS it looks bigger on the inside. We stayed at the time of the second February storms (Dennis) but other than a few flooding roads on the way this didn't cause us a problem. We arrived to a lit wood burner which Tom kindly sorted before hand. Everything was spotless. A lot of thought has gone into this accommodation to make it a perfect stay. The bed is amazingly comfortable and we both slept soundly. It may look small but I fitted in at over 6 foot. The kitchen was very well equipped. We brought lots of extras with us that we didn't need, tea, milk etc. Tom has provided the essentials and lots of very kind extras including the daffodils and books and games . The accommodation is very secluded so if that's what you are after its perfect. If you want local shops, a pub, stuff to do then its not for you We will definitely be back to stay again during the warmer months as it would be nice to see the organic garden sprung to life. We would definitely recommend this unique little find.

  • We had such a perfect time at Tom's cabin for my partners 30th! It has everything you need and we were lucky enough that Tom was available to show us round his organic farm and introduce us to his horses. Such a wonderful location and would recommend for anyone to stay here for a cosy getaway! The log burner was lit for our arrival and we enjoyed a delicious bottle of apple juice from the farm. Just idealic.

  • So happy that we chose to stay at Penny’s. Communication in the lead up to our stay was friendly and welcoming. She offered a high chair and cot for our toddler and provided fresh bread, eggs and milk for our arrival. She had a folder packed with helpful information including a really nice taxi driver called Geoff from the village who was amazingly helpful and the kind of person you only happen upon with local knowledge such as Penny’s. A really nice stay while we were in the area for a wedding. Highly recommended.

  • This is a lovely place to stay. The directions were specific, and spot on to the property which is very useful when navigating Devon country roads. There were lots of little extras provided, which was very kind & thoughtful, and decent sized towels. Even a veranda to sit on outside and enjoy the setting & view.

    Hazel2019-10-21T00:00:00Z

This annexe is a self-contained space in the heart of Totnes with views up to Totnes Castle. It's a five minutes walk from Totnes railway station and ten from the river Dart and its path to either the bottom of town or to the beautiful Dartington Estate. We have a south facing garden that guests are welcome to use and private parking. The annexe is five minute's walk from the top of the High Street with of all its amenities. Totnes is renowned for its independent shops, cafés, pubs and history.
Please note that there are two sets of three steps approaching the annexe. Private parking is available at the rear of the property along with the access to our garden. The washing machine is situated in the basement adjacent to the annexe, the annexe itself sits beneath the kitchen of our family home so some general household activity can at times be heard above. The annexe is comfortable and cosy, the house itself is Victorian and has the quirks and charms associated with an older property.
Totnes is situated in South Devon, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beaches and Dartmoor National Park are easily reachable by car - taking anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes for a selection of beautiful locations. Totnes sits on the main rail network between Plymouth, Exeter and beyond. The River Dart flows through Totnes and lovely walks can be taken in either direction along the river paths. The local ethos encourages independent trade meaning there are plenty of lovely, quirky coffee outlets, pubs and restaurants, as well as other pursuits such as regular markets, live music, cinema and literary events.

    Elizabeth2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • A charming little apartment located conveniently close to the railway station and the town center. The apartment was very clean and full of beautiful details. There was an extra heater there so the temperature wasn't a problem even in the wintertime. It was great to get oatmeal, crumpets and jam for breakfast! The tea selection was way better than in any other Airbnb I've been to... I got a quick and friendly reply to all my messages. The only minus in the apartment was that as mentioned in the description, at times there can be a lot of sounds from upstairs (steps, talking, music), so this is not for the best place for sound sensitive individuals, at least not without earplugs. There was no noise from outdoors though, since the apartment wasn't on the side of the street.

    Anne2019-12-02T00:00:00Z

  • A simple room but spotlessly clean with comfortable mattress and I had everything I needed, including a choice of breakfast. Very interesting to see Nette making her beeswax food wraps!

  • I really enjoyed staying here - it was VERY clean, cosy, warm, welcoming and a lovely breakfast too! It's really quiet in Week and only a short walk away from the Dartington Estate which is where I was heading each day. The view from my window was lovely including daffodils and snowdrops, and one evening on my walk home an owl was chatting away! There's a great little garage in Dartington where you can get supplies and Totnes only a short drive away too. I didn't meet Nette but her partner Rob and little dog Jack who were super hosts. Would highly recommend this quiet little retreat for your stay in Devon!

  • Nette and her family are lovely, and they live in truly one of the most beautiful place in the UK. It was a real treat to stay with them, and I feel sure I'll visit again. If you've going to Tones or other places in Devon and the South West, be sure to stop here and enjoy the peace and quiet, and outstanding beauty in and around Nette's home.

  • Pippa was a super host with a beautiful home. A 10 min stride down into Totnes via the short cut was a great way to start the day at the workshop I was attending. The High Street has loads of eateries.

  • Wonderful! This is our second stay with Pippa and my son (aged 9) and I love staying here. Pippa is a wonderful host and my son adores her cat Samson. It's very easy to walk into Totnes from the house and we were able to use the kitchen which is so helpful. I would definitely recommend staying at Pippa's.

  • Perfect - I enjoyed my stay very much. Outstanding hospitality - Pippa is a thoughtful and friendly host, I felt very relaxed and at home. • Muriel’s place is lovely and unique. We have stayed here before and hope to stay again.

    Melissa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • When I choose a whole house, I hope to find a nest to settle in, especially if it rains, as often in Totnes ... Muriel's cabin is a warm, cozy, pretty, well-equipped, sober, peaceful nest. a nice place to be with yourself while having, right next to what to walk, go eat in a pub .. and like me, go after to Shumacher College. Muriel is very nice. She reacts quickly to any message concerning the cabin. so great. I recommend!!

    Annick2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space and near the centre.

    Frank2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Painter’s Cabin is comfortable, cosy and warm. It is an ideal base to explore South Devon and the towns on the River Dart.

    Ric2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolute joy to spend time in Muriel's Painters Cabin. It is close to the centre of Totnes, yet you feel like you're in the countryside, tucked away in her garden. It is very comfortable and well-designed both in terms of functionality (storage, hooks in useful places, a shower cubicle you can move in, good ventilation, a sturdy table that flips out) and how it feels as a space (restful, beautiful, lovingly put together). I had everything I needed for a short stay and Muriel made me feel so welcome, with little touches like fresh-made bread, butter and preserves. I heartily, heartily recommend!

    Gemma2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful weekend trip here. Nice and easy walk into town and everything you could want for a perfect Devon getaway. Muriel was fantastic and really helpful!

Beautiful character cottage set on the outskirts of The Dartmoor National Park. A peaceful, secluded hideaway with period features throughout, this tasteful conversion provides all the comfort and style for a truly unique holiday experience. River Garden Cottage is our sister property to our other Buckfastleigh holiday home The Old Stables
A beautiful, 18th Century cottage, bursting with original features, with a private South facing garden next to a river. Positioned in a quite private lane, just off Buckfastleigh high street, River Garden Cottage provides a bright, relaxing, characterful home, ideal for exploring the wonderful Devon countryside by day before returning for cosy evenings in by the log burning fire. Stepping into the open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, you'll find an abundance of exposed stonework, oak flooring and beams, matched with rustic and original furniture and fittings. A short distance from the cottage is a private lawned garden, with a seating area over looking the fast flowing River Mardle. We provide a parking permit allowing use of any of the four near-by town car parks. There is also a private parking space with a narrow access for a small to medium sized car approximately 100 meters from the cottage.
  • What a lovely, warm, stylish cottage with everything you need. A friend and I stayed there to attend a course which is run locally, so chose it to be near to the venue. We were therefore pleasantly surprised at how quaint and pretty the street and this cottage were, so the ideal setting for a country holiday or break . Paul was the perfect host sending a helpful message with lots of details a few days before our stay. When we had a problem with the boiler one morning he responded to my text immediately and within the hour someone was on our doorstep to fix it. We hope to book again for a few nights when we return for the final part of our course in a few months time.

    Claire2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really helpful host, very responsive to messages, instructions were detailed and concise. Could rely on Paul to reply immediately when trying to find local parking or questions about how to operate the amenities in the house. Lovely and comfortable space!

    Adam2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in the heart of Buckfastleigh. Great open fire. Once we worked out how to use the television we were set for cosy nights in.

    Rachel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Pauls cottage is a little gem. It is immaculately presented. The welcome gift of local produce was a thoughtfull touch and all tasted delicious. We experienced some awful weather during our stay but the cottage was always warm, dry and comfortable to come back too. A goods night sleep was always had aswell on the comfortable beds. Will certainly be staying here again.

    John2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in an excellent location for Dartmoor and other Devon sight seeing. The cottage was very comfortable and the wood burner was a bonus on a cool night.

    Linda2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely welcome basket, great location, spotless

    Mike2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Buckfastleigh. The house is not that big but has charm and makes you feel comfortable. Paul is always there for questions. Surroundings are beautifull. We'll certainly will visit the region in future.

    Martijn2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was wonderful, spotlessly clean, characterful with all the amenities we needed for our stay. The garden next to the river was a real bonus and we spent a few evenings enjoying the space. Paul was a great host and always available if needed. Being located right in the centre of Buckfastleigh allowed us to enjoy the lovely surroundings, local pubs, shops and a great Chinese takeaway! Our sons loved the skate park and open-air heated lido. If you’re looking for more children entertainment options, the River Dart country park was brilliant and only 15 minutes away by car. Thank you Paul for a wonderful stay and we will definitely see you again!

The Church house Inn dates back to the 13th century, full of old world charm and steeped in history. Nestled in the valley of Torbryan and about a mile into the country lanes. It is the prettiest little picture postcard hamlet. Many local people love the Church House Inn and will make you feel very welcome. There is restaurant and bar and also a few ghosts. While you are here I will be happy to help you with directions. Ipplepen is the pivotal point to start exploring the endless wonderful places to visit in south Devon. Turning right onto the A381 and drive just for 5.5 miles and you will reach the historic market town of Totnes. Built by the river Dart the town has one long narrow main street that seems to go up hill for ever, but don't worry there are many twee little shops to look in and interesting places to eat or have a coffee on your way up the hill. When you finally reach the top there is a fortress and from there you can enjoy the beautiful views across the town and surrounding country side. Totnes is bohemian and some say it is the centre of the universe. It has arts and culture and an odd kind of magic that gets under your skin. If you visit Totnes you will never forget. Turning left onto the A381 and 3.7 miles you will reach Newton Abbot market is town built over the river Lemon. A good place for general shops, restaurants and take-aways. Bakers park is on the outskirts of Newton Abbot, It has a large children's play area and several football pitches, it also has walks along the river lemon and is surrounded by Beech woodlands .very nice for a picnic. The English Riviera offers stunning coastal walks, seaside towns, fishing villages, estuaries and golden sandy beaches. There are so many places to see that I would need to write a book to tell you about them all. Locally I would recommend Shaldon, Dawlish and Dartmouth for their picturesque beauty and Torquay, Paignton, Broad-sands and Goodrington for sandy beaches for families with children. Turning your back to the coast and look inland and you will see the gently rolling landscape of Dartmoor, two hundred square miles of hills and valleys, Leets and rivers, open moorland, woodland and garnet tors. This magical place will lift your spirits and calm your sole. This is a place to escape humanity for a little while. Again one would have to write a book to tell you of its nature and wonders. Dartmoor is a place off fairy tales, myths and legends. If you would like to walk on the wild side I will guide and advise you on the best places to go. There are many safe places to enjoy and visit on Dartmoor but hill walking and climbing the tors need wisdom and orienteering skills There are many parks and places of interest to visit and enjoy for all ages and abilities . I have many pamphlets of interest ready for you to look through. For the young visitor there are beer and music festivals and Torquay has several night clubs. For every one there is the Dartmouth steam railway, family fun parks and Paignton Zoo is just fabulous, Plymouth Seahorse aquarium is another family attraction and really worth a visit. There really is something for everyone no matter what your age or interest.

  • Lovely little cottage, it had everything we needed and was the perfect base for us. Pauline and John had great communication and were there if we had any questions. Thank you!

    Claire2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline’s place made our weekend. The location was perfect, so close to many places of interest and attractions but peaceful and in a beautiful rural area. The house was spotless and the little touches provided were very thoughtful. Though I did not need to contact Pauline (the information provided from days out to recycling at Lavender House were plentiful), it was lovely to meet you and hear firsthand your suggestions on walks in the local area. Also I would mention the bed was very comfy and the area extremely quiet so I slept very well during my stay. Though our stay was for the weekend, the amenities provided and location make this property just perfect for a longer holiday and I hope if back in the area again we would certainly return. Thanks Pauline.

    Bridget2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

A beautiful idyllic hideaway in rolling Devon hills, only 3 miles from Totnes and 15 minutes drive to the sea. The Orangery is a detached property in the grounds of a Georgian Manor. A 'wall of glass' captures the uninterrupted, glorious Devon countryside views to the horizon and gives direct access to the private garden with wood fired hot tub for ultimate relaxation.
There is a open-plan living area, with cosy log burner, kingsize bed, plus separate kitchen, shower room and wardrobe. The glass doors slide open to bring the private garden inside. Private garden with hammocks, brick BBQ, rattan sofa, and wood fired hot tub. Views over rolling countryside, lake, and woods, with a rippling stream in the distance. With no light pollution, sit under the stars in the wood fired hot tub (no motors or bubbles ruining the ambience), and enjoy a wine or two. Plenty of walks straight out of the door to two local pubs; The Church House inn and the Pig & Whistle. TV and box of DVDs when you want to snuggle in front of the log burner.
Set in the grounds of a manor house dating back to 1600, and origins going back to the Doomsday book, the location is steeped in history. Totnes is a unique and thriving town with original shops, cafes, restaurants and parks. There are two pubs within a 30 min walk (Littlehempston and Marldon) and Berry Pomeroy castle (English Heritage), with its cafe, is half a mile away, and a lovely walk. Brixham is 15 minutes by car and the beautiful beaches near Salcombe and Dartmouth are easily accessed.
  • Beautiful location, lovely clean place. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

  • Staying at Antonia and Rob’s place was fantastic! Not only was the place itself so lovely, but our hosts went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful, making the trip even more relaxing as we knew there was nothing to worry about. The air bnb was one of the most uniquely beautiful places we’ve stayed, and we loved waking up to the spectacular views all around us. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil and relaxing weekend away.

    Daniel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely space with stunning views! The hot tub was a lot more effort than expected, but we still enjoyed the concept of it. Our highlights were lazy mornings in the most comfy bed, with the gorgeous sunlight flooding in, and enjoying a bottle of wine in front of the fire in the evening. Thank you!

    Fiona2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Just got back from a lovely couple of night at the orangery as a Christmas treat. The place was amazing and once the log burner was in full swing it was really cosy. The view from bed with a cuppa was serene and we even managed to utilise the hot tub with storm Jorge raging around us! Lovely spot and will be back the next time we need a few night away from our little ones!

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so so special. It’s super comfy. The views are spectacular and the hot tub and wood burner made our trip very romantic and cosy. Being on the John Musgrave trail means guests can run / walk for miles in either direction - we did a couple of muddy / hilly runs which were perfect before showering and snuggling by the fire. The bed was really comfortable and having a cuppa in bed whilst looking at the stunning views is a real treat.

    Jen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

The Studio has an open plan lounge with kitchen/dining area and separate cosy ensuite double bedroom. I am only 6-7 mins walk from the bustling town center with restaurants, bars, and shops. The location is great for most things you may wish to do in the area, visiting the coast, Dartmoor, the Racecourse, Exeter / Plymouth. I am walking distance from bus and rail station, usually can collect you from the station. I can accommodate 1-2 more on the sofa bed or offer 2 sleeping separate for 2.
In addition to the above for those staying a little longer I am happy to make the laundry room (part of the main house) available to use. The Studio has its own front door. Welcome to 69a North Street, our grade ll listed town house in the centre of Ashburton. Through our front door and along a passageway you come to 69b, an annex with its own private entrance sharing our beautiful cobbled courtyard. Through a stable door and up a flight of stairs is a large light filled room that has a super king bed or two generous singles, a sofa and a table and chairs. Downstairs is a shower room as well as a separate utility space with tea and coffee facilities.
Just a 2 minute walk from the centre of Ashburton, 69b is tucked away from the street and is surprisingly secluded. You are welcome to enjoy the small courtyard with its rambling grape vine and table and chairs. Our garden tends to be used by our two young boys, if its quiet (or you don’t mind their games) you’re welcome to use it. A light breakfast is provided for you to serve yourself in the room. The Victoria Inn is 4 doors away and serves pub lunch and evening meals at the weekend and we are just a few minutes walk from many other great places to eat and drink. We do not have private parking, but there is plenty of on-street parking outside and a long stay car park in the center of the town.
  • Tanya’s place is very handy for the centre of Ashburton. Breakfast is lovely and the room is spacious and light. Tanya was very helpful with tips for local restaurants.

    Sharon2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very well located room in the middle of Ashburton. Perfect for the cookery school or local tourist spots. Ashburton has lots of lovely shops and restaurants within walking distance too. A great find .

  • Lovely host and a calm, restful space

  • The annexe is a great place to stay, with its own private access so that you don't feel like you are disturbing the family. The photos give a good impression of the accommodation but I would say that it actually exceeded expectation. Everything was extremely clean and very comfortable. The location is great being just on the edge of town so a quick walk for an evening drink or meal and of course easy access to the surrounding beautiful countryside. I will certainly stay here again.

    Justyn2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

  • I had a lovely stay, whilst studying at the Ashburton cookery school. Which is approx 20 minutes walk away. The accommodation was lovely and very comfortable, with lots of little extras that made my stay extra special. Tanya was a lovely host and always responded promptly and was very helpful. I loved the location of the property, with lots of independent shops and restaurants close at hand and I would love to return at some stage. I can highly recommend staying here.

  • This is a super little town in which to stay for Dartmoor visits, and Tanya's place is a perfect, and characterful, bolthole. Spotless; stylish and with tons of thoughtful finishing touches. Importantly: great shower, lots of space and I loved the fresh flowers. Would have no hesitation in booking again.

The space was immaculate and warm, it suited my every need and the bed was comfy! I especially enjoyed that Helen had left fresh milk, orange juice, breakfast cereals, fruit and more which was a lovely touch. Welcome to ‘The Loft’! A light and spacious one bedroom maisonette which offers a contemporary feel with all the cosy creature comforts one could possibly desire for a delightful getaway... If shopping is your thing The Loft is located within an 8 minute walk of the historic and hip High Street of Totnes. Dartmoor National Park and the beautifull South Hams coastline are within easy reach particularly if you have your own transport, and private off road parking is provided right outside.
The Loft is a unique peaceful hideaway conveniently located within easy walking distance of the hustle and bustle of the town centre. As a guest you have the run of the entire apartment, which offers a very comfortable environment to relax, work or to be creative.
The Loft is located in a quiet residential area across the river from the historic old town. This location offers the benefit of all day sunshine, plenty of space, trees, views and parking.
  • This was a 5-star stay for us. The bed was comfortable with thick, soft bedding, the house was spotless and colorful, and the area was extremely peaceful and friendly. We also loved watching all the birds amongst the trees outside the windows. This place felt like an extension of our own home and I didn't want to leave it. We highly recommend a stay here and walks around the neighborhood to see how many animal sculptures you can spot, done by the neighborhood artist who does it purely by donations to recipients' favorite charities.

Beautifully designed by Gemma Dudgeon Interiors, this peaceful pied-à-terre feels spacious thanks to the expansive skylights and vaulted ceilings. The interior is elevated by the bold and colourful walls with fun patterns adding a final flourish.
The flat was recently featured in The Observer Magazine and its location in the heart of Totnes makes getting around easy and convenient. Grab a drink at a local pub, dine at one of the family-owned restaurants, and explore the nearby beaches.
  • What a great place. We loved it. Gemma was flawless in her communication and made us feel entirely welcome and looked after. This unique apartment is located in a perfect spot to walk to town but is very peaceful. I would not hesitate to stay again.

  • This perfect accommodation was a jewel box, located within a stone’s throw of the main commerce and walking street of Totnes. The bed was incredibly comfortable , the design was current and classic with beautiful touches, fixtures and art; the skylights made it feel as though we were in the trees or on a ship, and the cottage was stand alone and private but not a bit remote. We will definitely stay here again when we come to magical Totnes.

    Vicki2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great few days away in this stylish and unique space. We particularly enjoyed the design colours and aesthetics, with everything within the property made to match.
