  • Matt and Sara’s place was exactly as described and more! It was the perfect space for my boyfriend and I to spend our Christmas. The little touches around the house were very much appreciated. The cabin is in a great locations. We were able to enjoy the local restaurants, shops and ski resorts with just a quick drive. Even though the cabins are near each other, you really feel secluded. • The Mountaineer Cabin was absolutely perfect for us! The hot tub was the perfect place for us to unwind after a cold day of skiing, and the location is perfect if you're wanting to visit Sugar and/or Beech Mountains. Also, it features a full kitchen and a gas fireplace so we were able to cook a little while keeping warm & cozy. The place was extremely clean upon arrival and we had a seamless checkin. We loved every minute of our stay.

    Jasmine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was super clean and warm! We loved everything!!! We would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to be close to Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain and Boone! The cabin was nestled on a cozy quiet lot and had plenty of room to play fetch for our dog on in the side yard! What a gem! We will be back next year!

  • Such an awesome experience with great hosts. They went the extra yard and decorated the Cabin with a Christmas tree and lights on a outside tree. Our first AirBNB experience and all the amenities we needed were there, even a Keurig for our convenience, for our stay. Instructions were precise for everything, Lights, Fans, TV’s, Gas fireplace, etc. Recommendations for Dining were superb. Thank you Matt and Sara, we will be back.

  • Awesome place! Super convenient for wanting to snowboard/ski Sugar and Beech Mountain!

    Alexa2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed here for a few nights for a quick weekend getaway from Florida. It was an absolutely amazing trip. Sara and Matt did a great job responding quickly to our questions. They also gave great notes/instructions for how to find the cabin and how to use the appliances (hot tub, thermostat, keypad lock and such). The cabin had everything we needed and more. It was very comfortable and had a nice homey feel. I highly recommend checking out Grandfather Mountain if you stay here. It was gorgeous and had quite a few different trails. We also really enjoyed Tate-Evans Park nearby.

  • Beautiful place and great location. Our stay was perfect.

    Joseph2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location couldn't have been better-close to town and groceries, no dangerously steep incline to get there, but looks and feels like you're secluded. The decor was adorable-bears and country themed. The decor really helped make it special. They included little extras.

  • My husband and I booked this beautiful cabin for a weekend getaway with his family as the 'big' Christmas gift to each other this year. It was actually our second time as a couple staying here, so we were so thrilled when we saw it was available for the dates we decided on with his family. Similar to the first time, it was a fantastic experience all around! The house was big enough to accommodate the 5 of us, and they allowed my in-laws' dog to be there for a small fee. We even go lucky enough to wake up to snow on the first full day of our stay! The hot tub is for sure the highlight of the cabin, due to its privacy combined with its easy accessibility. What a lovely time we had enjoying watching the snow falling from under cover of the roof on the porch! In addition to spending lots of quality time warm in the cabin, we also enjoyed an outing to Sugar Mountain one day, and dinner in Banner Elk the next night - both were very close and a super easy drive even in the snow conditions. Without a doubt, we would recommend this place to anybody. Matt and Sara have thought of everything to complete the mountain getaway experience, and the price is more than fair. Much Love! • such a beautiful Cabin. was our first time going to Nort Carolina and our expectations were not even compared to how beautiful that cabin is. Each touch is unique in the decoration. the place very quiet, no loud neighbors or annoying people. My furry babies had an amazing vacation. They didn't stop running and exploring the forest. This cabin simply has everything a family needs. The jacuzzi outside gives a glamorous touch. definitely a place to rest and recharge batteries. We will definitely return. 100% recommended

  • This place is amazing! So picturesque, and the babbling brook is something out of a dream. The place is a little small, but it was perfect for my spouse and I. We have verizon and there was little to no service out there, but when you're staying in a cute cabin in the mountains, it doesn't matter all that much!

  • This space was just perfect for our needs! The location is serene and quaint. The quality of the bed linens were an added bonus! The weather did not allow for us to get out and explore the nature elements as we would have liked, but we’re looking forward to another chance in the future to really maximize our vacation!

  • We have stayed in several Airbnbs and Creek Side Blessings was the cutest, most well-kept, and comfortable stay we have experienced so far. The creek is literally right outside the super comfortable bedroom and was just magical to listen to while in the hot tub. The hosts provided a lot of little touches that made our stay extra special like chocolates on the pillows, over-sized towels for the hot tub, snacks, and nice toiletries. The beds were very comfortable and the location was perfect for our ski trip (right between Ski Beech and Ski Sugar). We had the best time and will definitely stay again!

The property was super clean with so many amazing amenities, hot tub, private balcony overlooking the creek, and less than 10 min from the slopes. Perfect for a romantic get away. We will be booking next year with Matt and Sara again!

    Aubrey2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful Cabin! You wont regret staying here. You will find everything you will need including dryer and washer and all kitchen necessities. They thought of proving it all. There will be a couple of things you will be asked to clean up before checking out. But it was worth the stay.

Two-bedroom, two bath cabin eight miles south of Boone, North Carolina on Highway 105 in the Watauga River Valley. Fifteen minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Blowing Rock. A large covered wrap-around porch offers the best sittin' in the Blue Ridge and a pleasing mountain view. Enjoy your solitude or entertain in the spacious great room. Many popular attractions are nearby.
The cabin has two bedrooms. There are two twin beds in the first bedroom and a queen-sized bed in the second. (We also have one twin air mattress with additional bedding.) Each bedroom has its own washroom with a shared tub area between them. We provide clean bedding, towels, washcloths, hand towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and, unlike many other listings, we charge no additional cleaning fee. The kitchen is fully-equipped with everything you need. We also provide paper towels, place-mats, and napkins. There is a charcoal grill available for outside cooking. Guests may use the laundry facilities in the basement level. There is a flat-screen TV with basic cable channels, wi-fi, and a house phone that can be used for local and long distance (USA) calls. The house is wheel-chair accessible, there is a grab-bar for the tub, and a safety gate at the top of the stairs.
Our cabin is located in a small subdivision called Watauga River Overlook. The subdivision "overlooks" the river in the topographical sense, but does not actually contain a scenic overlook...just to clarify :-) The neighborhood is rustic, with gravel roads and about twenty houses on wooded lots. Most of the residents live here year-round, so ours is an "ordinary" neighborhood in that sense. The cabin feels remote, but is actually only about a half-mile from Highway 105, which is very convenient. (For the sake of honest disclosure, note that some highway noise can be heard.) The view from the cabin changes with the seasons. In summer, the leaves block the long-range view, but you will feel like you are sitting in the treetops, which has its own wonder. The view re-emerges in fall as the leaves thin out and turn beautiful colors. The best long-range views are in winter, after the leaves have fallen. In spring, the view recedes as foliage slowly returns. An encounter with wild animals is unlikely, but the rural nature of our neighborhood makes me feel the need to mention it as a possibility. Deer and rabbits are by far the most common wild animals in our area, but bears and raccoons are sometimes drawn to outside garbage cans. We see few snakes, but certainly they are present in the woods. It is never a good idea to interact with wild animals - even those that seem harmless.
  • Susan’s cabin was AMAZING and close to everything we went for our winter vacation (20 to 30 minutes to very good tubing and skiing places). The place has everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. We loved it there!! Already planning to come back during summer for more of the great experience the area has to offer.

    Mercedes2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. Exactly right for 3 friends looking for a getaway weekend. It's the little things that really add up-- good cookware, extra pillows, ability to easily manage the temperature, strong wifi, bathroom supplies, comfortable furniture. It all sounds mundane until you stay somewhere that doesn't have it. This is the house I would build for myself if I had a mountain horse.

    Kelly2019-11-18T00:00:00Z

  • This cabin is a lovely getaway option. The location in the woods is nice and quiet, and the creek is really charming. It is a bit of a drive from Boone, but it's worth it if you want to be out in the woods. We had a comfortable stay. The only thing to keep in mind is that the cabin is currently drafty, and we were there on a cold windy night. This meant that the cabin didn't get above ~54F and the floor especially was really chilly. Otherwise the cabin was cozy and we had a really nice time!

  • This place is beautiful in every sense of the word. If you love to be surrounded by nature, but kept warm by the walls of a beautiful cabin, please stay here. The hosts were honest, and very thoughtful. It snowed while we were staying in their cabin, and they made sure to check up on us, just in case we had trouble getting out of the driveway. It’s a 15 minute drive to downtown Boone, whilst maintaining total privacy in what feels like the middle of nowhere. Also, oh my god, the animals. They’re adorable. We wanted to take the dog (Fiona) home with us!! Oh and the creek right outside of our door... don’t even get me started. Please stay here and enjoy what all Mother Nature has to offer!

  • The pictures on the booking site don't do this cabin justice. Beautiful cabin in the woods by a peaceful stream.

  • This was a beautiful little cabin, directly beside a river. Wonderful experience, and extremely cozy. I recommend slippers in the winter months, come during a snow if you can, as it is beautiful. You will not regret the stay.

  • Perfect getaway for the weekend!

    Erin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Creek side cabin is so beautiful and relaxing! Natasha has provided a beautiful cabin with a gorgeous location and a feel at home stay for you! It’s just so peaceful and relaxing! It was the best birthday present for me and my husband. We enjoyed making shrimp kabobs and cooking filets on the nice gas grill! Just a peaceful moment in time that will be a beautiful memory forever!

  • My son ran in all smiles and immediately took his stuff up to the loft. It was beautiful, spotless, and felt like home. Super spacious, fresh fruit, Netflix, fresh sheets and towels, amazing view, perfect location to conveniently drive to Boone, Banner Elk, Seven Devils, and local restaurants - it could not have gotten any better. Thank God for the complimentary WiFi and from the couch I could watch my son roll down the hill and play on the swing set. The hosts could not have been more accommodating, wonderful family.

Close to skiing/hiking/horseback! Apartment style living that is separate from the main part of the house. Complete with queen bed/bedroom, full bathroom, bathtub, shower, full kitchen, free wireless internet, free HD DirecTV. Fully stocked kitchen.
Full kitchen/laundry/queen size bed/soaking tub/custom glass shower/large sofa/HDTV/wireless internet. The space was recently updated and everything is new! This is your home away from home. Comfortably sleeps 3-4. The sofa is big enough for two people. Complimentary coffee is provided each morning for each guest (self-serve Keurig machine). You will also have some breakfast items already in the fridge when you arrive. There is a Sonos speaker in the bedroom that is accessible only via an app for both Android or iPhone. You can listen to music while winding down your evening. Or, if you're feeling a little playful, there is also an Xbox 360 in the living room with a few games. This space is adjacent to a separate living area/apartment all under one roof. You will have your own controls for heating and air, however. There is a bit of hiking to do behind our house to explore a little nature. There is also a river located about a mile from us if you'd like to bring your fishing gear. There's even a few perfect spots to bring a tent and set up a camp fire above or around the apartment. Also, enjoy the recently built fire pit! Although we are located in a fairly remote area, you will be nearly equidistant from most of the reasons people come to Western NC! We are close to Sugar Mountain Resort and Beech Mountain Resort (40 minutes to either one, although only around 25 miles in distance). It's only a short 25-30 minute drive to Grandfather Mountain and an even shorter drive to beautiful Linville Falls (plenty of hiking/easy walking). You could also hang out in charming Spruce Pine, North Carolina which is only 15 minutes away or head over to the most interesting city in the world; that is, Asheville, NC which is only around an hour away. You can also stick around and enjoy a drink on the deck, pitch a tent and camp, do some exploring by hiking, or fish! Plenty of parking available on-site (grassy area). Airport pickup and drop off from nearby airport up to 3 hours away for a fee. This is a duplex arrangement. Although you will have full access to the apartment, the other side of the house is inhabited as well. There are only walls so keep in mind there may be some noise, but nothing that should disturb your stay. If visiting during the Winter months (anytime November thru late March) please remember to be cautious of snow/ice with preferably a 4WD vehicle. The road that leads up to the apartment is paved but there is a slight grade near the top. You'll also want appropriate clothing if you plan on getting out.
We are isolated from nearly everything with only a few sparsely located neighbors.
  • This Airbnb is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. I was shocked with how well everything has been kept considering it stays pretty booked. The amenities are all new and the decor is very stylish. The home was very inviting and the perfect size for a couple. On top of being a great space to hang around, the house is just a short drive to natural attractions. The highlight for my husband and I would probably be Roxy, the dog. She was the cutest greeter when we first arrived and hung out with us during our bonfire. She was the perfect vacation dog, friendly but didn't cling to you.

    Melissa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place for a weekend trip. Nice and secluded with great views and great amenities. Everything you can think of is already done for you and all you need to do is show up! Would absolutely come back for a longer stay.

    Gwendalynn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous little getaway for some much needed rest and relaxation. Roxy was our greeter upon arrival was most gracious and adorable. The home was so cozy and comfortable. All the extra added amenities was great and appreciated. Loved the bathtub!!! Seeing the deer wander through was an added extra bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

  • You absolutely want to spend a quality time away from the city at this place. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere and takes time to get to the house but once you do there is no other you’d rather be. The price, the quality, the modern design, the amenities. Ah! I just can’t say HOW much we loooooved it! We wish we stayed two nights or more but we only got one this time. Both of us travel and both agreed that this place is the best Airbnb we ever had. We definitely will be back! Such a retreat! Such a great hospitality! Such a great idea! And personally we would like to thank Ricky for adding his love and care that is so rare to find nowadays! 100% well done!!!

Rustic but spacious cabin on eight acres of land, with creek and pond in the back.
Eight Acres is nestled on Sugar Mountain, just outside Newland, North Carolina. For a quiet getaway where you can relax in rustic comfort, wander among the old apple trees and explore nature's bounty, or drive minutes to explore antique stores, the majestic Grandfather Mountain or Linville Gorge, Eight Acres is a convenient respite from our busy lives. The cabin stands on the plot of Martin Banner's homestead, the original settler of Sugar Mountain. The current structure was built in 1989 out of pine and chestnut. Bottom floor has bedroom with two twin beds, bathroom with shower, washer/dryer, full kitchen, dining and living areas. Pull-out couch in living room can sleep another two people. Upstairs is bedroom with queen-size bed, full bath. Deck out back spans the entire length of the house. Cabin is on the "quiet" side of Sugar Mountain. On the other side is the ski resort, Banner Elk, and other cute towns worth discovering.
This is a little piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of society. Quiet, with just the bubbling trickle of water coming down the mountain. Pond in the back attracts frogs, dragonflies, and other native wildlife. There's a couple of small farms up the road, and a friendly chocolate lab that may wander by to say hi.
  • You won’t regret staying here! We left feeling so much peace.

    Emily2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cabin with all the amenities you need. The space is lovely with a homey feel. The surrounding area is also beautiful.

  • The perfect place for a quiet weekend retreat! All the directions were very clear, the cabin is lovely, and the area is very quiet. We had no trouble getting there, and the cabin had everything we needed. We hope to come and visit again!

    Stephanie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Easy host to deal with. Directions are informative and accurate. Space was clean and tidy. Land has a neat history as well.

  • Mark and Mary's place was beautiful. The surrounding area was nice and quiet and the cabin itself was very cozy and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Great location once you get there, the GPS took us to the wrong location at first because there are two roads with the same name. It was a very peaceful place and I enjoyed my stay. The fireplace was awesome, and it was nice to sit on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee while enjoying the sounds of birds and taking in the fresh mountain air.

If you are looking for a cute cabin full of rustic charm, then you found it at Nita's Rustic Cabin! Located in a rural mountain area close to Plumtree, NC, and the Yellow Mtn AT trail. Trout fishing on property. Best suited for couples and older children due to some of the the rustic features of this home not being safe for small children. Small pets under 30lbs okay. 30 mins from Grandfather Mtn. Guests must provide own linens, and be comfortable navigating a dirt drive.
The stairs to the loft bedroom are pull-down, so you must be comfortable with navigating them. There is a double size, pull-out sofa in the living area. AC is not available, but the cabin sits in a very shaded, cool area with fans throughout.
Although the cabin itself cannot be seen by surrounding homes, and vice versa - it is within walking distance to other homes. It is very private.
  • If you like a quaint, step back in time, in a lovely location, then this cabin is for you. Nice to be off the grid!

    Janet2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Nita's Rustic cabin! Nita is a great host and communicates accurately what she offers. It is a good value. Be advised that it is not for everyone - the cabin is aptly named rustic. It is in a very beautiful area of NC - and it is very rural. Finding it at night can be a challenge - but it is well marked with signage.

    Beth2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Like others, we had a hard time finding the entrance in the dark. You pass through Nita's property to get to the cabin, and we were unable to get our Prius up the final hill. Fortunately, Nita let us park at the base of the hill. The cabin itself was charming, cozy, and perfect for two of us and our dog. We particularly enjoyed the fire area and the porch (which stays quite dry even during heavy rain).

    Sid2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Anita’s cabin is definitely in the rustic category, but if you’re looking for a place to unplug that’s not too far from fantastic hiking and Boone then this is the perfect spot for you. We enjoyed it so much that we cancelled our Saturday trip to Asheville so that we could just hang around the cabin with a fire.

    Sarah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic but beautiful. Loved it. Exactly as described. Daughter loved playing Pooh sticks on the river bridge.

    Barb2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay!

    Joey2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had the most amazing getaway! We were totally of the grid because our phones (at&t) didn’t have any service the whole time we were there and there is no WiFi. We loved it thought it helped us unwind and not have to worry about anything else! We did pass the drive way once but then we saw the sign out front. The cabin itself is exactly what it is in the pictures. At night we were either gathered around the fire or watching tv. Overall it was a very relaxing stay!

    Philip2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was perfect. It was exceptionally clean, very comfortable, and offered a stay which was outpaced only by the company of Nita herself. She took time out of her day to tell me about local places and attractions, gave me advice on where to hike and attain the best views, and was simply a charming hostess. My vacation was greatly improved by her company and kindness. Two thumbs up for Nita.

This remodeled one bedroom condo is the perfect spot to ski. Once you will park your car at the cul-de-sac, all you have to do is to walk to the slopes. Also, you do not rely on other people on the amount of time you want to ski since you can come in/out as you want because there is not key but a door's code. Consequently, you can skip the cafeteria and eat all your meals at home, and bring your cup of coffee to the resort. (I provide some disposable cups :)
This is a quiet and a very peaceful small community arranged at a cul-de-sac. It's a ski in/out since you need to walk 200 yards, and you can access to the slopes. This condo has a huge desk surrounded by trees. It's located 9 miles from Grandfather Mountain and a walking distance from Sugar Mountain Golf and the ice skating rink.
This is a very quiet, small and peaceful community. The living room, the kitchen, and the deck's views are gorgeous: all you see are FOREST TREES. It's like being at a forest and at the same time being next to the ski resort within a five minutes walking distance.

Wander out to the veranda and lie in a hammock with a view of nothing but trees. Watch the goats play or listen to the birds and read your favorite book. Feel free to hike through the woods to the river. A quick 7-mile drive to App State football games or concerts. In the winter ski or tube any of the four resorts an easy 10-14 miles away. Grandfather Mountain may also be your thing. It's only 19 miles. Book your stay today!
Located in historic Valle Crucis (between Boone and Banner Elk), this residence is the entire upper floor of our recently renovated Carriage House. Access to the floor is via a private staircase at the front of the building. The staircase can be locked at the bottom or the top. The lower residence of The Carriage House is also available on AirBnB (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/28276506) as a separate rental. We have installed extensive sound proofing between the floors but you still might occasionally hear a little noise. To help ensure a positive experience for the guests in the lower residence, we ask that you leave your shoes at the top of top of the stairs. Our family lives in the historic farm house nearby and is available as needed. Most of the furniture in the residence is original to the property or the area. At 1,200 sq ft this two bedroom, one bathroom features two queen beds and one queen sized sofa bed. It has a fully stocked kitchen including Keurig coffee machine, stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and kitchen basics for six. The private outdoor deck is shielded from the rain and snow; however, provides a tranquil atmosphere ideal for reading a favorite book or enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. Relax in the hammock and listen to the birds or watch the fireflies in the forest. Or feel free to borrow a couple of our inflatable tubes and float the Watauga River. Additionally, the residence has a 70 inch flat screen television in the main living area. With the attached AppleTV, you can access your movie or music libraries via your Netflix, Amazon, or other related account. Keep in mind that internet is spotty in the mountains and our cell phone coverage is poor.
Located in Valle Crucis, near Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock, the Carriage House was used for horses on a farmstead 100 years ago. Nearby Valle Crucis Park is a wonderful way to spend a family day outside. The Orignial Mast General Store is 1-mile away and the Blue Ridge Parkway is an easy drive.
  • This place was so beautiful! The entire upstairs cottage was huge! The location was beautiful! I really enjoyed every bit of this trip. Typically I could fine something to complain about. But this place honestly was such a good vibe that negative thoughts couldn’t take place in such a relaxing place. There was no cell service. Which was actually relaxing. They did have WiFi however, which is how I communicated with Leslie. She responded right away every time. Also had plenty places for me to choose from as far as dinner, breakfast, sunrise views, or sunset views. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to get away from the hustle of everyday life.

    Jesse2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay!! Super cute animals outside nearby but are not a disturbance at all :) beautiful decor and hosts were extremely friendly /easy to reach! Definitely recommend staying here.

  • The Carriage House, upper level, was perfect for our little family of 3. A very clean and inviting space! Leslie checked in to make sure our stay was going well. We were very pleased with everything and are looking forward to another stay on our next trip to the mountains!

  • There's not much I can say about staying at Leslie's location that she hasn't already listed in the information page of her listing. Everything was exactly as described, which I think is quite rare and truly represents the amount of care, detail, and professionalism she puts into making this place as warm, homey, and stylish as she can so that you enjoy your stay. I would absolutely stay here again, it was beautiful and relaxing! P.S: They have 2 goats and it made my girlfriend's weekend.

  • This place was absolutely the RIGHT choice! We were really lucky to find this Carriage house available for our weekend! It was: - so cozy - peaceful, great environment - vintage decor, yet very modern - organized - had plenty of amenities - the location was perfect, only a couple minutes away from restaurants & attractions - Our hosts kept us updated about check-In/ check- out, very easy to reach Overall... we really enjoyed our stay here. I highly recommend it! We look forward to staying here in the near future. Thank you, for allowing us to stay in this beautiful home.

  • We loved our stay at the carriage house! I only wish we could have stayed longer. Upon arrival, my teenage sons kept saying what a great place it was. My daughter loved on all the kitties, and even got to pet sweet Bella. She's still talking about Lavender, her personal favorite. We felt right at home, and all the personal touches gave a warmth to the space. Leslie was helpful and available through Air BB app, but never intrusive. We will definitely be back!

  • Great location! Great place! Clean, comfortable, and convenient ! This was our third time staying at the carriage house. We will be back again!

  • If you're looking for a perfect place for a mountain getaway, look no further. Everything in the listing was accurate, the house was clean, and the check-in was very easy. The host was great with communication, sending a very detailed message in the days prior that told us everything we needed to know about the house and included some tips for things to do in the area. The location is close to Newland, Crossnore, and Linville, which provided plenty of options for things to do. The best part about this place is that you could also choose to start a fire in the fireplace and just relax with a book or a movie. We highly recommend this place!

  • Lanes place is the perfect little getaway. Nice warm cozy feeling with a great view of the slopes. It was better then I expected. Also I had some questions and he responded within minutes. I’ll definitely be back.

  • Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Cozy place to be right on sugar mountain. Ski in-ski out right on one of the slopes. Place was clean and had everything we could have asked for. If I go back I will definitely stay here!

    Dalton2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect weekend get away, to go snow skiing. Was able to walk out of room and be on the slopes with in about 500’. Take J life back to the top and walk back to room. Perfect for couple, but it was me and my18 y/o son who is 6’ and the couch that folds back into a bed really was not big enough for him, more for a smaller child. Still had a great weekend and got in some good snow skiing. Thank Lane for being a great host.

    Yohana2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we expected to be getting just what we paid for because it was such a bargain...we were SUPER shocked at just how perfect this little spot was!! It is a smaller unit, but it is cozy and perfect for an intimate or close family getaway. The water was hot, the pressure was perfect, and the place heated up like a charm. It was perfect for just getting out of the snow! The views are amazing. The location is perfect! Food Lion is right up the road and the ski lodge is a few minutes farther. Get the fried apple pie at the Sugar Mountain resort and do yourself a favor and go the extra 15 minutes to Hawksnest Tubing (NOT Sugar Mountain Tubing) you will thank me later! We all got cheap sleds at Food Lion and honestly had more fun sledding on the hills right at the condo than anything else. But if you want to find some other spots there is a free sledding jill on Beech Mountain, but its gonna be about a 25 minutes drive to get there. High up, but totally worth it. Roads can definitely get icy, so be smart about travel! Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay! It is comfortable, cozy, and perfect for a getaway. We loved every minute of it!!

    Brandon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Best cabin we’ve stayed in and by far the cleanest airbnb we’ve rented before. Gorgeous mountain views from living room. Loft space was absolutely darling. Had just about every appliance and utensils you could possibly need during your stay. Dishwasher, washer and dryer seemed all new. Bathrooms were all very clean and pleasant. About 20 min ti sugar mountain resort and 30 min to Beech mountain resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • This is a beautiful cabin inside and out. We visited as part of two families, with four adults and five children. The cabin has plenty of beds, and comfortable spaces for dining and seating. The cabin is conveniently located close to the Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain ski resorts. Michael was exceptionally responsive in his communication before and during the visit. We wholeheartedly recommend this cabin for your stay.

    Jonathan2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place is a great cabin to stay at with family not only for its amenities, but also for its location and views of nature. Having the bedrooms and bathrooms on both floors allowed for easy access and the living room's open floorplan with the high windows make for excellent views. The balcony and outside seating area is amazing for sunrises and sunsets. Its location is not difficult to get to but caution must always be made for winding uphill drives. Great place and great hosts.

Cozy, clean condo with a spectacular view!
This condo is a neat, clean place. But the best attribute is the view. It is close to shopping, Grandfather mountain and the ski slopes of Sugar Mountain!
My condo is located at the top the the Sugar Mountain community. Close to Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain and plenty of hiking and outdoor activities.
  • Great place with an amazing view! Will definitely return for another trip with my family in the future.

  • Our trip to Mike's place was wonderful! We were pleasantly surprised when we found out we were so close to Sugar Mountain skiing and decided to go while we were there, it was just a short drive down the mountain! The views were amazing and the place was very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Western NC but you cannot find a better deal for skiing on Sugar Mountain! We would definitely love to come back.

  • Michael’s place was great. Amazing views and close to sugar mountain ski resort. The condo had everything we needed. Michael was very attentive and gave us some great local tips. The best part was the view, seriously — you can’t beat it. Def recommend this place!

  • Wonderful location on the more private side of Sugar Mountain but still within the “Village” (shuttle will pick you up if you want). Stunning views of the area from the back deck. Fully stocked kitchen and huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower. Loved the easy access to Sugar Mountain Ski Lodge, Banner Elk, Boone, Seven Devils, etc. Mike was so fast to reply to messages in the AirBnB app and even checked in to see if we needed anything mid-way through our stay. We will definitely be back!

  • The Hut was truly perfect! We were only there for a night, but look forward to coming back again. Johnny was a great host, quick to communicate and had so much info to offer about the area. The space was clean, comfortable and close to everything. Definitely worth a stay if you will be in the area.

  • Johnny and Sallie were some of the most wonderful people we have ever gotten to know on our adventures. If we could give them more than 5 stars we wouldn't hesitate to. They gave us loads of information not only about the surrounding area, but the entire state of North Carolina. Johnny and Sallie truly blessed us with an amazing experience during our stay. Thank you so much for yall's hospitality. Both of you left us with memories we will forever cherish. They're place was just as wonderful as themselves and next time we visit we will be sure to stay with them again.

  • Johnny and Sallie are a lovely and hospitable couple. The "hut" is a great value for the location -- close to town/ski resorts while overlooking a beautiful expanse of mountains. This was the perfect air bnb for our weekend ski trip: warm, comfortable, clean, and quiet. We would love to come back in the summer to hike or fall to pick apples.

2000 36ft Montana with heat, air and full amenities except laundry. Sleeps 4 with sofa bed. Has two TV's; one in the bedroom with up to 11 channels of local broadcast TV, and one in the living room with over 150 channels of subscription TV. WIFI with excellent signal strength "no password". Kitchenware, Soap, shampoo and towels provided. Charcoal grill and portable fire pit. There are extra guest fees if over two adults no charge for children. NO FISHING! in the pond.
One of two fifth wheel RV rentals. The other one is listed on Airbnb as a 37' Escaper. Set up on part of a 20 acre parcel in the Blue Ridge Mountain's on the back side of the Beech Mt Resort in a secluded quiet and safe community with less than a dozen homes in a one mile radius. Away from light and sound pollution. Except for an occasional passing vehicle "and often none at all from 10pm to 6am" all you will hear is the sound of the creek, cricket's and frogs at the nearby fish pond and only the light from the moon and star's in the clear mountain sky and fire flies. This is the mountains with typical crooked mountain roads, cell phone reception is good for Verizon, Carolina West, Sprint & maybe some others, but not for AT&T, T Mobil & maybe others. It is my home place with a tobacco barn and a big cattle/tobacco barn where I grew up and my parent's made their living farming. You will be free to explore and hike any part of the property except the house and out building's. The pond's are full of Trout and Blue Gill fish that are like pet's and will follow you around the edge waiting for a hand full of fish food, and they love pieces of bread. You can feed the fish "Sorry no fishing". There are two full hook-up RV sites and camp sites on the property listed on hipcamp, one RV site is just past the Montana and the other is behind the Escaper, camp sites are on another part of the property. If you hate crooked roads mountain roads and expect the Hilton with convenient stores & wall Marts just around the corner on Florida type roads and perfect cell signal by all carriers; "DON'T BOOK".
Two neighbors and The Beech Mt Baptist Church are within a quarter of a mile, also my brother lives a quarter of a mile past my house and uses the private driveway by my house. My cousin also uses my driveway to access his property. Entrance to the RV's is from the main road. It is one mile to the TN state line with only two houses and no residents and another half mile to the Compression Fall's on Elk River at Pisgah National Forest, which is also a great place to hike or ride a mountain bike with a road that is closed to motorized vehicles and winds around the mountain gorge above the Elk River for several mile's. If you continue about nine miles on this road you will come to another fall's called "Elk River Fall's" 60ft high. There is also some good video's on YouTube. To drive to the Elk River Fall's it is about 15 miles in the opposite direction through Elk Park NC.
  • Me, my wife and our dog had an amazing time here. It was snowing when we got there. The RV is right next to the river and a minute away from the ponds where you can feed the fish. It's a very peaceful place to live, away from all the hustle and bustle in the city. We only stayed one day and we regretted staying for such a short amount of time. We came for the ski and the ski resort is literally like 15 mins away. Curtis made sure that we felt at home and even helped us light a bon fire and so many other things. The next morning we were heading out to the mountain and Curtis made sure the roads were safe for us to travel by actually going out in the roads himself. I have never experienced such an outstanding service from any hosts ever before. I really appreciate Curtis for going out of his way to make sure our stay was awesome. Apart for having a great time at the mountains, we will always remember this place because of Curtis as well. It takes a good heart to do what he did. This is definitely not gonna be our last visit and when we do visit next time, its gonna be his place for more days. We have already recommended his place to a couple of our friends :). Thank you for a wonderful experience. God bless his heart.

  • I went to work on a writing deadline and to clear my head. Best choice! Curtis is wonderful and the silence was just what the doctor ordered. It was a cold few days and Curtis went out of his way to make sure I was cozy and warm. He came early to clear snow off the porch and from the RV to my car. What a gentleman!

  • Had an absolute wonderful time staying in Curtis’ camper! His hospitality was amazing and he was there anytime I needed him. Thanks for a great weekend Curtis, we will be back!

    Skyler2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described and pictured. Very comfortable stay for a couple cold nights but nice and warm in the RV. Had everything we needed there and just down the road from Boone. Got a great deal of ideas from Curtis about things to do in the area. Decided it was a bit cold on a busy weekend but planning a warmer trip. Heard the waterfall but getting dark and as my son said he don't have a great record staying dry near waterfalls...... The RV is not new but I was not expecting it to be. Everything we needed worked and was clean some nice updates that made a big difference as well(heat, bathroom). A bit better than expected and a great value.

    Mark2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy RV that is surprisingly spacious. Private space nestled deep in the mountains. We got to watch the snowfall from the two chairs in the living room, it was very peaceful. Thank you Curtis.

  • Great getaway! Close enough to the ski resort but far enough away to unplug. Would definitely stay again in the future!

  • Allen’s place what pretty much what I expected. The pictures are accurate. It was a simple place to stay that was a good value for the price. It is old but has everything you need. The shower was hot and the bed was really comfortable. We brought our own blankets and sheets which was helpful because it got very cold at night. The location is great - about 20 minutes from Sugar Mountain skiing. The map is not accurate so it can be a bit difficult to find. Allen did have a helpful sign which was great once we were on the right road. If you are looking for a place to cook and be protected from the elements this is sufficient.

  • Nice quiet place to crash. Coordinates are off slightly so can be hard to find at night.

  • Great stay. Amazing waterfall

  • A little difficult to find at night but great place to sleep, very refreshing and can cook your own breakfast.

  • Our stay was very pleasant and we enjoyed the "coarse" charm of the camper. We are a camping family and were prepared to share the tight quarters with our 2 teenagers. The lack of wifi was WONDERFUL to us . It was so nice to disconnect from the outside world. The stars are AMAZING at night. As stated, the shower is small but we had no problems taking a basic shower. The hot water works wonderfully. We would LOVE to return for another stay. P.S. Elk Falls was beautiful.

    Andrea2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Allen's place was exactly what we needed after a cold day exploring Boone and Blowing Rock. The camper was ready for us and toasty as soon as we arrived and Allen provided helpful suggestions of area attractions to see the next day. Overall what you see if what you get and it worked well for us!

    Amy2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Allen was very accommodating, and responded quickly to any questions we had. The stay was just what we were looking for. A great value in a beautiful area. We would return.

In order to save our feet and legs from walking in ski boots to the condo from Oma’s run, we parked the truck closer to the lift. Our daughter used to say during visits to our cottage, "This is better than Disney!" Right on the banks of Roaring Creek, our cottage is a true escape from our cluttered, busy world. As the listing name says, it’s an "Authentic Mountain Getaway." The natural beauty of the property and surrounding area are the draw. It is not convenient to shopping and/or artificial entertainment, but if you value serenity, solitude, and the entertainment provided by the environment itself, you'll find it here.
Secluded home A true getaway Comfortably sleeps 6 Fully furnished
Friendly neighborhood. Very little traffic with lots of privacy. Peaceful and very quiet.
  • Exactly as advertised, wonderful and hassle free stay. Highly recommend if you want to have a peaceful getaway.

  • We were charmed by staying in Chris’s childhood home. The family history is heartwarming, and we felt transported to a simpler time while being there. The property is beautiful, and the roaring creek is a unique feature that I found quite calming. It’s a blessing that Chris is willing to share of his home.

Enjoy our cozy cabin with hiking, fishing, and relaxing in rural North Carolina. The Appalachian Trail just 2 miles away. Elk River Falls is an easy hike. A full kitchen invites you to cook. Roast s'mores on the fire pit. Dine on the porch or enjoy the patter of rain on the roof, or snow in the winter. Play movies on the blue ray/DVD. Free electric vehicle charging. Four miles from Elk Park (pop. 800), a truly remote getaway. Privacy and intimacy guaranteed! Please, no pets.
Our 400-square-foot tiny-house cabin in the woods is close to streams, hiking (Appalachian Trail), state parks, and the majestic, 50-foot, Elk River Falls. It is nestled on a steep forest slope at an elevation of about 3000 feet (900 meters). The cabin can sleep up to 5 guests. (The love-seat folds out into a small bed. It is suitable for children or adults up to about 5’10” tall. The mattress is 33” x 72”. This is 5 inches narrower and 2 inches shorter than a standard twin.) The bunk beds are located in the hallway between the kitchen and the master bedroom. They are comfy but not a separate (second) bedroom. You’ll love our place because of the cozy cabin atmosphere, covered porch, large fire pit, and spacious open deck with a woodsy view of the river. Pisgah Getaway is great for couples, solo adventurers, families with kids, and nature lovers. There's a television monitor with a DVD/blue ray player in the bedroom, plus a huge library of DVDs. (The television doesn't receive broadcasts such as satellite or cable.) There is an additional television monitor with a DVD/blue ray player in the common area. ***WiFi limitation: To state this bluntly, but in all good humor, please don’t pig out on the WiFi. We bought the maximum data plan offered by our carrier for this remote rural area – 15 gigs per month. It is meant for your convenience, so you can stay in touch with the outside world, search for local shopping, restaurants, etc. check your email, do a bit of social networking. But if any of our guests use WiFi to watch video, this generous but limited amount of data access will quickly go up in smoke, and the guests who come after you may not have the convenience of fast WiFi. So: No videos, no YouTube, no Netflix, no Hulu, no S-k-y-p-e or FaceTime – you get the idea. If you want video entertainment, we have a lot of DVDs you can play in the great room or the bedroom, or you can bring your own. See House Manual in cabin for WiFi user-id and password. You will have access to all the cabin space, large outside fire pit area, lighted parking area with free, level-2 charging for an electric car, and the entire cabin property down to the river. Parking area is 17 feet (5 meters) wide x 42 feet (13 meters) long. Check the fridge or counter top for a complimentary bottle of wine. The cabin property borders Pisgah National Forest. You can hike in the woods at your own risk. There is much wildlife in the area: We've seen lots of turkey and deer, and the occasional bear and beaver. So far we've identified 47 species of Spring wildflowers on our 1.3-acre property! Enjoy!
This is a great place for a quiet and intimate getaway. Enjoy the Elk River from our front yard. You can hear rushing waterfalls from the front porch. Walk 15 feet from the porch steps and you are in the Pisgah Game Lands (part of Pisgah National Forest). You're just a mile from a spur trail leading to the Appalachian Trail. Two popular ski resorts, Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain, are just 15 miles away. In the Spring and Summer months, there may be extra traffic on Elk River Road from the locals who love visiting the spectacular Elk River Falls. Just be mindful of the possibility of extra traffic. Winter skiing in nearby Beach Mountain and Sugar Mountain. Attractions: Grandfather Mountain State Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Roan Mountain State Park. The short trail to 50-foot Elk River Falls is across the river and just down Elk River Road. Check out the House Manual in the cabin to learn more about these and other attractions. The nearest grocery shopping is J's Market on Hwy. 19E, just north of the turnoff to Elk River Road, about 4 miles from the cabin. Ingles is about about 10 miles away in Newland. You can enjoy breakfast at Sissy's Ole Country House Family Cafe on Hwy. 19E in Elk Park, at Times Square Restaurant in Elk Park, or at Kaye's Kitchen in nearby Newland. We love Brinkley Hardware ("est. 1903"), which is like a time machine just 4 miles up the road in Elk Park across from the Dollar General Store. Our guest guidebook will guide you to other nearby attractions, such as a winery, a cheese farm, restaurants and the famous Mast General Store.

  • What a perfect Airbnb this was! The location was great, the area was beautiful and the cabin had the perfect little touches. The cabin is kind of tucked away but very easy to find with the directions they give you. We stopped at the closest grocery store which was about 15 minutes away and just stocked up on food for the whole time we were there. They provide you with coffee, a full kitchen that we used every day, a discount card for restaurants nearby, an adorable fire pit, that we used twice, and there are a lot of movies to keep you occupied as well. It’s about 25 minutes to sugar mountain, 35 to grandfather mountain and there’s a beautiful little hike to a waterfall, 3 minutes down the road. As if all of this wasn’t amazing enough, Jim was an excellent host and wrote back instantly when we were having a small car issue. We had a wonderful experience and would love to come back one day.

    Morgan2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great for the price! Was perfect for just the two of us and was extremely close to Elk River Falls (less than a 3 minute drive).

    Meghan2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Pisgah Getaway was a dream come true. Jim and Walter have done a fabulous job with all the thoughtfulness put into this little cabin in the woods. Service is very limited once you get deep into the mountains so definitely map out where you are going before you loose service. The house has basically everything you could think of. All kitchen amenities, bathroom essentials, first aid kits, outdoor essentials for cooking on the fire pit. The views on the drive down to the cabin are incredible. After checking in we ventured to Elk River Falls. Such a beautiful little hike and so close to the cabin. We spent time on Roan Mountain which is 5 miles west on 19 into Tennessee. We also spent time east at Grandfather Mountain. Incredible views and very rugged terrain. Definitely take a drive in any direction onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. You won’t be disappointed with all the epic outlooks. Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain Grandfather etc, are all 30-40 minutes from the cabin. We visited Sugar Mountain for the ski/tube vibe. Make sure you call before making plans because they can shut down due to weather conditions. Overall we had a blast. We will definitely book again and I can’t wait! The mountains are calling!

  • I had been eyeing this place for about a year. When my family’s schedule was clear, I booked it as quick as I could. Kristin was always quick to respond to any questions I had. She left some snacks for the kids (maybe the adults, too!) and had the heat going and music playing when we first walked in. The views of the beautiful trees and the mountain were amazing. The steam shower in the master bedroom was glorious. Our kids (almost 4 and 7) loved having their own room to share with their own bathroom. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

  • Katherine was highly accommodating for the needs of me and my family’s trip. She managed to point me to the right ski resort in the area that was loved by my wife and daughter. The restaurant recommendation was so good that we dined there all three nights. The trip was capped with a snowy send-off that was much needed considering we traveled from the balmy Savannah area. All my expectations of our trip were exceeded.

  • Amanda’s place is everything you could hope for in an AirBnB. They are wonderful, responsive hosts, and the amenities in this home are some of the best I’ve experienced. They have can openers, bottle openers, all the basic utensils you could need. The walk to Sugar Mountain ski lift is so short and the ability to use their storage locker made the trip so simple and easy. We never want to stay anywhere else when we go skiing at Sugar! Such a cozy condo and perfect location!

  • This is a great place to stay for a relaxing weekend away. It's a beautiful area and the cabin is extremely cozy. Robin left very clear instructions in the house manual which were very helpful. Overall, it was a great trip!

    Zach2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the cozy cabin. Robin was super helpful and personable.

    Carole2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint little cabin in the mountains. About the size of a tiny home but very nice.

    Nolan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was easy enough to get to, had all the amenities we needed to cook basic meals and the space was perfect for our schedule. The porch was dreamy and probably larger than the inside of the cabin! We had no problem with the driveway with our 2WD vehicles when we arrived -- it was lightly snowing! I appreciated the value of the cabin and the attention to details.

  • Fantastic cabin! Stayed the weekend here while skiing Sugar mountain. Had everything set up for us when we got there. Easier than we thought it would be to find. Beautiful cabin. Robin is a great host and I would happily stay here again!

    Luke2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Robin's cabin was absolutely adorable. The accommodations were cozy and comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

    Christine2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Robin's cabin was great: clean, well-kept, and in a beautiful setting with plenty of privacy. Our group of four adults fit just fine, if any prospective guests wonder about that. We'd certainly stay again, and the next time I visit the area, this cabin will be at the top of my list.

Enjoy magnificent mountain sunrises at this charming home that feels remote but is convenient to everything. Skiing at Sugar Mtn. is only 15 minutes away, and you can walk to Hawksnest Snowtubing (skip the parking fee!). Downtown Banner Elk, Boone, Blowing Rock, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mtn., and Mast General Store are all less than 30 min. away. Whether you want to experience Carolina BBQ (Pedalin' Pig!) or fine dining (Gamekeeper!), there are plenty of options for foodies, too.
This listing is for the ground floor and upper loft, which sleeps 6 comfortably. There is a walk-out basement below that sleeps another 4 (2 more bedrooms). The basement is never rented separately so you will not share the place with anyone, even if you only rent the upstairs. If you need more space, search for diamond ridge whole house to add the basement. The living area features vaulted ceilings, large windows, ample seating and a stone-faced fireplace. After a day exploring or hitting the slopes, come put on a fire, sip your favorite evening beverage while playing a board game or watching a movie. We have a blu-ray player and DVDs and a Chromecast for streaming your own subscription services (services not provided). The game and puzzle cabinet is stocked with a number of diversions and lots of toys for little ones (no small parts!) The dining area has a large table with seating up to eight, and the kitchen has plenty of cabinet and counter space, a microwave, and electric range. Diamond Ridge Rental comfortably sleeps up to six guests. The two bedrooms contain one king and two twin beds with all linens. The loft has an additional two twin beds. A pack-n-play, with all the linens, is in the closet. The bathroom includes a jet tub and separate walk-in shower.
Seven Devils is a quiet community nestled high in a valley of the blueridge mountains. The main road (NC-105) is 8 minutes away, and cities and amenities are less than 30 minutes away, but the view and quiet beauty may make you forget it all. During inclement weather, 4WD or snow chains are recommended. Diamond Ridge is walking distance from Hawksnest Snow Tubing and a few minutes to Otter Falls hiking trail. Just a short drive from Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Valle Crucis as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain. Wanna ski? Check. Wanna hike? Check. Wanna lounge around and soak up the views? You can do that too.
  • Beautiful views, great location with so many fun family activities nearby. We enjoyed snow tubing, skiing and hiking Otter Falls. The home was perfect for our family getaway. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and views from the porch.

    Sarah2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Diamond Ridge was amazing! The view is exponentially more stunning in person than in the pictures and is located on a quiet street at the top of the mountain. The house is equipped with anything you may need to ensure a comfortable stay without missing the comforts of home. All of the kitchen equipment is high quality and not junk bought at the dollar store. Jeff and Jess were very quick with responding to questions or concerns and very friendly. If you’re looking for a quiet peaceful escape from reality, you can expect exactly that booking here and getting the most bang for your buck!

  • Awesome house with beautiful views.

    Kely2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful mountain home, close to hiking, wineries, and breweries. We plan on staying here again.

    Zach2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was great to watch the sunrise on the deck each day from your bedroom or the main living area. It was the first snow of the season so we were able to get the stove to warm up the house. You need to read the instructions carefully and be sure to get a fire starter at the store. The kids loved the loft. There are 2 single beds in the loft.

  • Really nice stay, beautiful view especially for fall foliage. Enjoyed every morning on the balcony deck! Will definitely consider comeback next time
