There is a car road all the way up to the cabin throughout the year, and good parking. This is a perfect starting point for trips in Jotunheimen and the surrounding mountain areas. In winter, there is a cross country trail just behind the cabin, and you can go on an alpine ski just outside the cabin door and run to the ski resort. The cabin is beautifully located also for hunting, fishing and total relaxation.

Viken Fjellgård is located by the lake Espedalsvatnet, an hour's drive from Lillehammer. And if you want to enjoy yourself indoors with a fire in the oven, something hot to drink, a good book or a game, or if you want to go skiing, go for a walk on snowshoes, a snowshoe hike, ice fishing, burn a fire, make a snow cave and snow lantern, or just look at the stars, then this can be the place. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful nature with hiking opportunities on all sides. There is also an extensive network of groomed ski trails not far from the cabin. The area also has hunting and fishing opportunities. The cabin has six beds, a room with a family bed and a single bed and a room with a double bed, and otherwise what you need to enjoy a stay with us.

Garden House in the Middle of Town

Our garden house has a plain Norwegian cabin standard with everything you need for making simple meals. Some basic food supplies will be available. As we have no running water in the garden house, we have placed a water dispenser in the kitchen area. Your bathroom, with floor heating and shower, is situated right next door, in the main house. The garden house has its own terrace, with access to the garden.

Newly prepared ski slopes right outside the door, ski in- ski out to the downhill slope, restaurant at Gålå hotel, cafeteria at Gålå booking (here there are electric car chargers) and food and sports shop.
