Airbnb Services are incredible services to make a guest’s stay more special. Service categories include chefs, photography, massage, spa treatments, personal training, hair, make-up, nails, prepared meals and catering.

Services are vetted for quality, and hosts and listings are expected to meet our standards and requirements. Here are some key things to know.

Basic standards

  • Identity verification: Verify your identity and, where applicable, pass background checks and other vetting.
  • Licence and certification: Maintain valid licences, insurance and certifications relevant to your service. Provide proof when required.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the relevant field or 5 years for chefs without a culinary degree. We may verify the education, employment history or awards and recognition you include in your listing.
  • Reputation: Maintain a high-quality reputation, as reflected in things like outstanding guest feedback, with additional consideration given to awards and features in publications or other forms of recognition.
  • Portfolio: Share photos that highlight your professional experience when you create your listing.* Choose images that illustrate your process and preparation, tools or equipment and business location if you plan to have guests come to you.

Listing standards

  • Photos: Submit at least 5 high-quality photos, including one photo for each offering, that give clear, realistic ideas of the service you provide.* If you’re a photographer, you must submit at least 15 photos.
  • Title: Explain what the service is and who’s providing it. Start with a few descriptive words and include your first name at the end.
  • Expertise: Describe why you’re uniquely qualified to host your service. Be direct, succinct and specific.
  • Offerings: Add a minimum of 3 offerings with a range of prices – entry, standard and premium – per listing. Highlight specific details like ingredients, techniques, equipment or materials in your descriptions so that guests know what they’re buying.

Service submissions and changes made to approved listings will be reviewed.

Hosting requirements

  • Bookings: Honour guest reservations and avoid cancelling for preventable reasons.
  • Listing: Maintain an accurate listing, including the location, guest requirements and the start and end times of the service.
  • Messaging: Communicate with guests in a timely manner. Let guests know if you’re bringing someone to assist you during the service, with enough notice for them to cancel without a fee.
  • Safety: Deliver proper training and instruction to prevent injury, provide clean equipment and have a plan for dealing with emergencies. Set an appropriate guest age requirement for your offerings as needed.
  • Location: Respect the place where you’re providing the service. Don’t damage property and clean up after yourself.

The vetting process is ongoing. In addition to what’s outlined above, you also need to comply with Airbnb’s Terms of Service and Host Ground Rules and Hosting Safety Policies.

Hosts who don’t meet our standards and requirements may have their listing or account suspended or removed. Read the full Airbnb Services standards and requirements.

*If you provide a massage or spa service, you won’t need to submit photos for your listing. We’ll select photos for you from a library of professional photos that illustrate these services.
