“Dane is such a wonderful host! This cabin is so serene and private. They have all You need for a fantastic day and more! The kayaks near the blue Heron Pond is fabulous! What a bonus being able to utilize those while staying. We will definitely be coming back!”
The Cabin is a perfect getaway! Located right on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, this is a cozy spot that I built myself. One extra comfy bed - with a view of the lake - electric fireplace/heater, coffee and tea, and of course an in-house ukulele for those sunset serenades. This is a quasi-camping experience. There is no running water or shower. There is a composting toilet located in the teepee and the space is private and secluded.
“Exactly as shown/described. This little cabin is a great retreat for those wanting some down time on the lake. It was a great alternative for me while camping was closed (due to covid19). Ben (and his parents Alex and Jill) are super nice and accommodating but also keep to themselves so you have plenty of privacy! My dog loved the space, freedom, and jumped in the water every chance he could get! I enjoyed the serenity, peace, views, and ability to have a fire at night. If you want activity you’re literally just 5 min from the fun town of Sandpoint! I really liked bumming around there, people watching, grabbing some to-go burgers from “the burger dock” and ice cream from “panhandle cone & coffee.” A couple tips: 1) there is electricity so bring a small fan if you’re staying in the warmer months - the cabin can get a bit stuffy. I put one in the window sill and it made a HUGE difference 2) you do have cell service. Data was a bit slow (T-Mobile for me) but it was manageable 3) there is dish soap in the bathroom, but no regular soap. There’s a huge thing of hand sanitizer (very appropriate) but I’m a soap guy. I brought my own bar just in case and it was nice to have.”
This private bedroom and bathroom, originally our guest room, is accessible by a separate entrance. It is suitable for a single person or a couple. Walk out of the bedroom onto your part of the spacious deck and enjoy the partial view of the lake and mountains. Our home provides a quiet retreat while being close to a public launch, day use beaches, a marina, many hiking and biking trails, and several bars and restaurants.
“We went to Priest Lake to spend time with old friends who summer there every year, but didn't have room for us to stay at their house this time. We felt so lucky to find Penelope's space, which was perfect for us. Their guest bedroom is well-appointed, super clean and very quiet, with a view of the lake (walking distance from the house) from the spacious and beautiful flower-filled deck right outside the private entrance. The bathroom is very spacious and clean, with an excellent shower. Loved the dimmer lights! Penelope is an engaging, lively and committed host and we would be happy to stay there again. And by the way, the coffee she provides is great. Our way to wake up in the morning!”
