The cottage near the lake

The cottage by the lake is a charming self contained chalet that boasts both modern clean lines and that warm traditional Portuguese feel. This sweet little chalet is ideal for couples or has a sofa bed to sleep up to 3 people. A spacious clean and modern bathroom is adjacent to the sleeping area which has a great double bed, space to hang clothes and a lovely view of the front garden. There is a modern yet rustic kitchen that includes a microwave, fridge, double hob and basic amenities. There is a dining space for meals and a huge flat screen!! At the front of the chalet is a seating space for two and around to the side a large eating area with a beautiful wall mural, barbecue and large table and benches beneath the grapes vines. 🍇 A quaint and luxurious place to relax in peace and take in the view and only minutes from the town of Pedrogao Grande which has plenty of bars, restaurants a supermarket and many other amenities. Just a 2 hour journey to both Lisbon and porto airports and just 40 minutes to the beautiful city of coimbra. A daily breakfast is also included

Castanheira de Pera is a wonderful place to explore this lovely area from. Praia das Rocas is just five minutes away. Visit the romantic shist villages in the Lousa mountains, the historic country towns nearby, swim in the small river beaches or boat on the nearby lake. Just step outside the house onto long walking trails, go cycling on the forest tracks or just sip a glass of local wine and enjoy the unbelievable views. There are summer festas and weekly markets in most of the local villages.

The house offers all the amenities for families or friends who want to comfortably enjoy a stay in a typical Portuguese village, Vila Facaia. We are in a privileged location, a few minutes from the river beaches of Mosteiro, Rocas and Poço Corga, the Cabril and Bouçã Dams, the Serra da Lousã, the Ribeira das Quelhas and Fragas de S. Simão. Recently renovated house where you can enjoy the beauty and hospitality of the mountain village, bathed by two streams, with the comfort of our days. During your stay you can take long walks (on foot or by jeep) through the forest that surrounds the village, bathe in the small (almost private) dams of our streams, see wild animals and get to know the sights of the municipalities of Lousã, Castanheira de Pêra, Pedrogão Grande and Figueiró dos Vinhos.
