Sunbird Cottage - Relaxed Farm Getaway

Sunbird Cottage is on a working farm 30km from Volksrust and Wakkerstroom Wetlands, it is a place to come and relax and recharge, we are off grid. There is great birding, walking, mountain biking and bass fishing on site, there are also kayaks for the dams. The cottage overlooks a gorge that goes down to the Slang River with an indigenous forest and has great views over the valley towards Amajuba Mountain and Battlefields for those interested in history.

The cottage features two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two single beds, as well as two extra single beds in the lounge. Ginger Quill is positioned half way up the hill, close to the dams but with a scenic view of the surrounding landscape, and is also the only cottage with a luxurious Victorian-style bathtub. This cottage is pet friendly.

The farm has spectacular views over the crocodile valley and is quite and tranquil with beautiful gardens. It is a great weekend getaway or one night stay. The farm is only 15 km from town and hour from Kruger.The farm is a functioning Moringa farm, there is a river with little waterfalls. A communal rock pool for those hot summer days. There is a built in braai and use of a kitchen should you want to cook.
