Situated on a bush fringed, sunny section, this barn-style holiday home has the basic comforts and enjoys a pleasant outlook over the surrounding bush to the sea.  The house is a brief stroll to the calm, sandy estuary beach or walk a couple of minutes further to the stunning surf beach. Ganeden Eco Retreat is set overlooking valleys of native bush and pasture. Ganeden relies solely on solar power generation and is earth friendly. This retreat offers an experience in comfort & sustainability. You will be 5 to 15 km from some of NZ's great expansive white sandy beaches, stunning walks, cafes & outdoor pursuits. Your accommodation is half of the main house. It is completely closed off for your privacy with private access & outdoor deck. BBQ by request. Not suitable for children

Enchanting haven with amazing views, native bush

This tranquil retreat 7 mins from the historic village of Puhoi and 8 mins from SH1 has all you need for a relaxing, private & comfortable getaway. Easy driving distance to beaches, bush walks, kayaking & the famous Puhoi pub. Or simply relax, enjoy the birdsong, views, sunsets, a coffee or wine on the deck, star-gazing. The Annex - self contained unit .

The Annex is on a small farmlet, 6 km south of Whangarei, with harbour views. It was a sleepout, built in the 1980's, separate, but next to the main house. It has two bedrooms. There is a double bed and two singles plus a day bed in the living area. The living/ dining area, has a wood fire. There is a small shower room and separate toilet. It is situated about 100 mtr off SH1, so there can be road noise. There are no streetlights and it can be very dark if you arrive after sundown.

We are only 75mins drive north of Auckland, 10 mins off the number one highway. The cottage is built from beautiful untreated hardwoods set in a tranquil private spot, nestled on the edge of a regenerating native forest. The cottage is only a 2min walk down to the beautiful Kaipara Harbour. Our place is part of a 25 year old 300 acre organic permaculture farm, which we were instrumental in setting up as a working farm and village style subdivision.
