The space
Listen to the waves lapping at the shores of Koh Samui from your own sleek private residence at Baan Hinyai. This incredible contemporary vacation rental just outside the town of Lamai offers direct access to the beach and expansive views over the sea. Its five bedrooms and full staff mean you can soak in the sunshine with up to ten friends or family members in modern luxury.

During your stay, a villa manager, Thai chef and housekeeper will see to your needs. A daily breakfast is complimentary, and paddleboards, sea kayaks and windsurfing equipment are available on request. When you’re not out on the water, relax on the loungers surrounding the dramatic infinity pool, dine in the poolside sala, put a movie on the outdoor projector screens or share photos via Wi-Fi.

At the heart of Baan Hinyai is a beautiful open-plan great room with high ceilings and warm natural textures of stone and wood. A pair of sectionals has plenty of room for everyone to sit, as does a broad, live-edge dining table. Though chef service is included in your holiday, the great room also has a fully equipped kitchen.

The villa has four bedrooms with king beds and one bedroom with two twin beds. All five bedrooms have private en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and sea views, as well as the same elements of wood and stone that make the great room so appealing.

With the beach at your doorstep, it’s easy to step out for a morning of building sandcastles or an afternoon of strolling, honeymoon-style, with your sweetheart. For a choice of shops and restaurants, make the 8 km drive into the town of Lamai. Don’t miss the chance to see the nearby Na Muang waterfall, a pretty cascade reached by a walk through a forest.
