Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Make your trip to Edinburgh truly memorable with a stay at Craigiehall Temple. Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". Garden Cottage, The Yair

Hidden away on a beautiful private estate in the Scottish Borders, Garden Cottage is a charming stone retreat for up to four guests. Overlooking a walled garden and close to the River Tweed, it’s perfect for walkers, cyclists, and anyone seeking fresh air and relaxation. From the doorstep, you can join scenic trails and connect to the Southern Upland Way. Enjoy tennis, fishing, and easy access to Glentress Mountain Biking Centre, or take a short train ride into Edinburgh for a day in the city.

Stunning Edinburgh 1820s stables converted studio

The Green sits within Ratho Park Steading: a stunning Scottish courtyard stable (built 1826; converted 2021). It borders Ratho Park Golf club (area of outstanding beauty), a walk from the heart of Ratho village, 8miles from Edinburgh centre. Rooms are stylishly furnished (with wifi), and proudly eco-friendly (ground source heated). Eskfield, spa cottage with private walled garden

Eskfield is food for the soul, a fabulous, ancient property immersed in nature to provide a wellness experience like no other. Stay here in one of the most important features of the Penicuik Designed Landscape, a Palladian house built in 1714, harboured within a one and a half hectare walled garden. With a burn running through a beautiful wildflower meadow, this is a nature sanctuary that you will not want to leave. Nestled in the outhouses is a sauna leading to a handmade cedar hot tub.

Eco loft overlooking garden and stream

This artist and architect-designed house is clad in larch and well insulated with wool felts. The access to the separate loft of our eco-house is via an external staircase. A large south facing window in the main room overlooks the woodland garden and Shiplaw burn. There is a workspace/single bedroom for an extra guest. We are located within one of the biggest habitat restoration projects in Europe and are five minutes walk from a regular bus service to Edinburgh and across the Borders.

Hardgatehead Cottage.

Farm cottage tucked away in a rural idyll, this haven of peace is surrounded by panoramic views and situated in the middle of a working farm. You will only have sheep, perhaps some cattle and plenty of wildlife for neighbours. A car is recommended, you will be a 6 minute drive from the village of West Linton which is in easy reach of Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. There are plenty of scenic walks from the doorstep or relax and enjoy the woodburning stove and the views.

Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The antique four poster bed, deep roll top bath and open fire evoke earlier times, but are truly comfortable and luxurious. An elegant table is set for breakfast. Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

Fully renovated to a high standard in 2022, the cottage is the perfect base for those who wish to get off the beaten track. Explore the surrounding hills and woodlands by day, then curl up by the cosy woodburner in the evening. Edinburgh is just 40 minutes by car, but feels a world away in this peaceful rural retreat.

The Great Hall, Dollarbeg Castle

This 2 bedroom apartment is the beautifully converted former Great Hall of Dollarbeg Castle. Built in 1890, Dollarbeg Castle was the last gothic baronial style building of its type ever built. Beautifully restored in 2007 to the very highest standards, it was converted into 10 luxury properties, one of which is a conversion of the original "Great Hall" with its vaulted ceiling and majestic views across the formal grounds towards the Ochil Hills in the distance.
