Guest House Agae is a renovated traditional house that can only accommodate one group at a time. It is in a very convenient location, about 550 m (about 7 minutes on foot) to Kumano Kodo and Kinkou Oji, a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and restaurants (Shoji Teahouse and Tororo-ya). The owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, so we will do our best to accommodate your questions and advice about walking the Kumano Kodo, as well as pick-up and drop-off when you need it. We can also provide personal guides, so please let us know. Prices do not include meals. Nigishima-cho is located in the southern part of Mie prefecture, and you can enjoy the beautiful azure seascape called Kumano Blue. You can try on valuable samurai armor, helmets, and bridal gowns (kimono)for free. The house is reserved for a group of 3 or more people per day. Please relax as if you were at home. We usually accept up to 8 people, but we can accommodate up to 10 people on request. There is a convenience store in front of the house, which is very convenient.

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)

Kumano Nakahechi "MINE-no-Yado" Mine own house

"MINE-no-Yado" Mine own house is a small Japanese style cottage in Mine village where includes Takijiri-oji, the entrance to the sacred mountains of Kumano. The house is at an elevation of 300m. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Kumano mountains, a wonderful starry night and even sea of clouds.

Tamura sea

Nearby is the trending Kawabutsu River, the shortest in Japan, and Tamano-ura Beach. Mt. Futo is also perfect for a walking course (15 minutes), with a monument to Sato Haruo's song and a view of the Pacific Ocean. It is also designated as an evacuation area. Surfing is also close by.
