Emma creates memories for her guests by providing them with a safe, beautiful stay in the Shropshire countryside. She resides there with her family and loves to showcase the idyllic nature and local gems around her.

"I started hosting as a means to support myself and my two children, never expecting to enjoy it so much. I don’t get the chance to go away very often and always think that whether it is one night or two weeks, memories can and should be made. That’s what I hope guests feel when they stay with me, in The Annex or The Yurt. It means a lot to have won this award. I enjoy hosting my space and sharing the rich heritage of the Ironbridge Gorge, amazing local producers and small local businesses" - Emma

Maxwell aims to make his guests feel welcome by opening his modern, yet rustic and charming home to fans of Jane Austin. He loves opening his home to others alongside his wife, both of whom are also keen travellers.

"I love providing best service to the guests who choose to stay in my home and make them feel welcome by providing everything they might need for a pleasurable stay, which includes fully fitted out kitchen in case someone fancies making even something as complicated as a Sunday roast, most comfortable beds, and stunning shower for a full relaxation. My wife has planted a lovely garden on our patio, so our guests can be surrounded by greenery whilst being in the centre of the city" - Maxwell

Colin and his partner retired to the Isle of Skye after living in the city, but missed the connections they used to form when hosting. They created their Shephard’s Hut to be an inviting listing for those looking for a slower pace of life.

"We love talking people about the island with us uniqueness from walking in actual dinosaur footprints, climbing the best mountains in the UK, to eating in some of the best restaurants around (there are 6 Michelin guide restaurants here), but it is the people on Skye who make holidaying here so special. We adore meeting our guests for the first time, we know their names and where they are from with our little chats before they arrive using the airbnb messenger feature" - Colin

Kay found joy in hosting after it allowed her to work from home alongside her infant son and support small businesses by introducing her guests to their products. Her personal touches, like locally sourced welcome treats, make The Burrow Escape a fantastic stay.

"I leave a welcome note for our guests as well as some locally sourced home-baked welcome treats. They arrive to fresh milk in the fridge, some butter and plenty of coffee pods and tea bags! I also have a seasonal hot chocolate station set up in the kitchen which goes down a storm with our guests! Upstairs they will find robes & beautiful toiletries to enjoy during their stay. If guests are coming with a young baby I leave a little welcome basket for them with some toys, sterilisation tablets & books along with the travel cot and sheets" - Kay

Rachel is passionate about connecting busy people with a slower pace of life and providing them with an inspiring place to rest, heal and rejuvenate. She aims to show how small ethical changes can help make life more sustainable for everyone.

"Because it's the most important factor on our planet right now. To invite our guests into a beautiful, natural and off grid home can be life changing for them and many go home with an intent to make some adjustments to their own lives and the energy consumption they have taken for granted" - Rachel

Charlotte’s simple, classic restoration was a passion project inspired by industrial loft spaces but maintained the integrity and strength of the original building. She hosts alongside her children, showcasing the beauty of the Scottish Highlands which she calls home after moving from London in 2017.

"We started hosting when we moved here from London in 2017, after converting a WW2 control tower that has been featured in various design publications. I love welcoming guests to our home and the Black Nissen as they love it. I really enjoy sharing our vibe with guests who genuinely appreciate how special it is" - Charlotte

Clancy is an inherently friendly person who knew hosting was the perfect fit for her and her partner. They opened up their spare room and turned it into a special retreat with their guests' enjoyment at the forefront of their minds.

"I love hosting special occasions and personalising our suite for their celebration stay. We have been privileged to have our guest propose to their loved one in our suite! As standard we alway's provide for all our guests 5 star top quality stays with a luxury breakfast hamper and treats. Our suite offers a beautiful comfortable space, and the garden has a romantic pod for guests to enjoy" - Clancy
