The house was built by Dr Edward Hudson between 1776 and 1788, and has been home to three generations of the Bence-Jones family. Enjoy walking in its extensive grounds which include a beautiful wild Glen garden. Guests are welcome to use the games room, or sit in the guard room amongst the suits of armour. For literary enthusiasts spend time in the library where Mark Bence-Jones wrote,' A Guide to Irish Country Houses'. Our house is situated only twenty-three kilometres from Cork City.

Fisherman's Cottage, Fortwilliam Estate.

Fisherman's is attached to the Main House but has a separate entrance so guests can enjoy the lovely grounds as well as complete privacy. The estate is set above the banks of the river Blackwater with peaceful rural views of the surrounding hills. The cottage is fully equipped and all set for a memorable country retreat.
