Court Hill Annexe is attached to a house where Francis Bacon (the artist) used to live. It is a self contained space with sitting room, kitchen, shower room and bedroom. Access is through the front door of the main house but otherwise the annexe is completely self contained. Chieveley is a pretty village in Berkshire with excellent access to Newbury, Reading, Oxford, Swindon or Winchester. Court Hill is set amongst fields ideal for walking.
“This is a very stylish space within the Host’s own home. The space is a self contained area accessed just inside the main front door. To reach the house you have to travel down a narrow private road and then a dirt track (which can be bumpy in places) but it is well worth the effort. The living area is spacious, and there is a full kitchen area included and comes supplied with all the associated crockery and utensils / cookware you will need. The host met me in person, and gave very good directions in advance (which are needed to avoid getting lost especially if you arrive after dark) The house is close to the M4 motorway but I didn’t find the traffic noise at all intrusive. The place has a very stylish appearance and everything feels very high quality - WiFi is provided but I didn’t need it as there was an excellent signal for both Virgin and O2 networks. The shower room is fabulous and bedroom area is spacious and has a very comfortable double bed. I highly recommend this place and hope to return in the future.”
Down a Private road nestled in-between countryside and Newbury's Town Centre. Approximately a 12 minute walk would get you in to town and about 30 minutes walk to the main train station. The house is also very close to the Hare and Hounds pub with an award winning restaurant. The house also has off-road parking and inviting hosts in a clean and warming home. At the back of the property there is a large garden that guests are welcome to enjoy.
“Nick and Daria's were very welcoming. They have a stylish space with comfy mattress and I was able to work quietly at the kitchen table. The place is an easy cycle from Newbury mostly on cycle routes and the quiet Speen Lane.”
Freshly decorated studio annex with new king size bed, all new bedding and new carpets. Off street parking for 1 vehicle is available on a gated gravel driveway. Very close to local shop, petrol station and bus routes to Newbury town centre and train station. Outdoor seating is in front of the annex's private entrance on the patio. Good routes to the A34 and M4.
“This is a lovely little studio bungalow situated at the end of a quiet street in a peaceful residential area at the edge of Newbury. There is everything you need, and the hosts are very helpful and provide regular service. There are a lot of walks and countryside nearby and the town centre is a short drive or cycle or can be walked if you have time. I had no problems, though I should mention a couple of things. Guests have no control over the heating and you are at the mercy of when the occupants of the attached house want it on, so bring warm pyjamas and a hot water bottle if staying over cold months. I think the WiFi is also shared with the main house and I had intermittent connection issues particularly at the far end of the room. Not a problem for me as I have my own mobile broadband, but something to be aware of. Otherwise I had a great stay here and would recommend it for singles, couples, for leisure or business long stay or short.”
