It is well located to visit the Peak District, or get the train into Manchester from Macclesfield or Congleton. There are a number of National Trust properties within easy reach, as well as Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, the antique shops of Leek and the pottery towns of Stoke on Trent.

Very comfortable and homely, with a lovely outside space that meant we could enjoy the nice weather and our dog could run around freely without us ever worrying that he could get out. Susan and her family were extremely accommodating, answering questions quickly and offering us help whenever we needed it. They went above and beyond. The area is also lovely, rural enough that it feels secluded and like a real break, but not so far removed that you have to travel miles for amenities. The area is also brilliantly located for a huge number of walks and sights.”

A river runs through the bottom of the garden and just sat listening to the water and watching the waterfall and water wheel was wonderful. It's a short walk to a decent pub (Talbot) and close to the country park. Cottage was so warm, cosy and welcoming and the hot tub just perfect. We highly recommend Hurst Cottage!”
