Welcome to Pear Tree Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Surrounded by the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Cherington is a quintessential English village with a village green and a parish church. Close by is the village of Avening, home to two well-regarded country pubs, and there is a lovely organic farm shop with a café just a five minute drive from the cottage. “Check-in was a breeze – Kevin met us promptly and was very helpful and friendly in showing us round. The cottage is close enough to supermarkets to buy supplies (10-15min from many major brands) yet equally set in the countryside to escape from everything. It was perfectly clean and had everything you could possibly need. Internet was great too for film nights and booking your tickets...but you’d hardly need it beyond that because of the beautiful scenery. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!”
Situated in a small Hamlet in the Cotswolds, the property is set in quiet and peaceful surroundings. There are two pubs locally both within easy walking distance, selling excellent food in a friendly atmosphere. Your Host is at hand to give local knowledge of the area and information is available in the guest sitting room.
“Jane is delightful, a lovely fun lady, and I really enjoyed her company. Her home is beautiful, tastefully decorated to a high standard, in a quiet hamlet location with beautiful Cotswold stone homes. I didn't use the guest lounge but it was lovely and a wonderful amenity for anyone staying more than one night. My satnav took me a very convoluted way but I soon realised that the hamlet is close to a larger village with friendly pubs offering food. I would love to return in summer to explore properly. My only very minor complaint is that the ad could make it clearer that the hosts are in fact a couple, as I (and many other single female travellers) tend to feel more comfortable with female hosts as a first preference. Highly recomnended.”
This self-contained gem has its own balcony which overlooks a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is south facing, light & airy and has pure cotton sheets, a small well equipped kitchen, and a powerful shower.
“We had a lovely long weekend in Kaye’s place - the view is even better in real life than in the photos and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and we were even left with delicious local apple juice, yoghurt, croissants and wild blueberry jam! Kaye’s recommendations for places to go were great - including thistledown farm which has a lovely cafe (amazing cakes and thali!) with beautiful views and woodchester park is a pretty walk. We would not hesitate at all to come back again and recommend to others”
