“We came in late October, a little late for swimming and wondering whether it would be too cold to enjoy this off-the-grid experience. In fact, it was (and is probably always) the perfect time to be there! The wood stove worked like a charm, the cabin was super cozy - and we even enjoyed being "stuck" inside (finally felt my mind calm down from city life!) during a Sunday where it rained the whole day. We had no need to shower during the 3 days we were there, and all the other amenities were not only sufficient but really quite fun (to light the gas lamps, wash dishes using gallons of water, explore the area to find wifi to do a bit of work - there's a lovely coffee shop if you go south to Royalton). It was very special meeting the animals and chatting to Bill about the local history. We really felt like we'd traveled back in time. The night sky was breath-taking. We remembered to take a headlamp on a walk we did off the property - which was good because the sun set very quickly and we had to find our way back in the dark! Bit spooky, but the cabin welcomed us back and was a true sanctuary during our time. We can't wait to come back in all the other seasons!”

“Brooke's cabin is simply fabulous. It is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with wonderful amenities. Brooke was always quick with communications and thought of every question we might have before even asking it! Local suggestions were another nice touch. We had a great time! Don't hesitate to book this cabin!”

“Nestled on a Vermont dirt road overlooking the mountains is one of the best kept secrets we’ve stayed at to date! Jonathan met us as we arrived with a smile and a warm welcome. After introducing us to his sweet children he led us around his farm, giving us the lay of the land. While the Jersey cows and the two sets of twin calves meandered about, we walked the property. The pond and sauna nearJonathan’s home offer a clothing optional experience. An outdoor shower is nearby for anyone interested. We walked down a path with our supplies to the yurt. Inside we found a full size bed, a small couch, a cot, and a wood stove with wood and kindling. We used a propane hot plate with a well seasoned tea kettle to warm water for tea and coffee. Both left for us to prepare our choice in the morning using “the girls’” whole milk if we liked! We found all we needed for cooking (pots, pans and utensils). Outside the yurt was a sink with cold running water, a simple table and an open outhouse a few steps away with a view of the mountains. A short walk brought us to a platform overlooking the mountains with two Adirondack chairs and the “Hippie Hot Tub.” Imagine a claw foot tub filled with water warmed by a fire below. It’s a riot! Jonathan’s place is an experience! If you’ve never stayed in a yurt and love the outdoors, you’ll appreciate the Vermont landscape and warm hospitality this little Shangri-La offers.”
