“The Paddle Inn is one of those special places you search and search for on AirBnB and can’t really believe is real when you find it. Rodney was so welcoming and helpful, responding within seconds every time we communicated. You can tell they take cleaning and hygiene seriously too, every surface was immaculately clean when we arrived and a spray bottle of disinfectant was left out for us in case there were any areas we wanted to touch up on our own. Those are all small details though, the space itself is amazing. The cabin is more charming than it looks in the pictures and the experience of staying on your own private island is total fun. Lastly, I so appreciate how welcoming Rodney was to our daughters, leaving little treats and things out for them, he is a tremendous host and made us feel like welcomed guests from the second we arrived. One small note, and it has nothing to do with the cabin or these wonderful hosts. The town of Cassadaga has a very peculiar custom of activating what can only be described as a tornado siren every time there’s a 911 call. And that includes the middle of the night. Twice during our 7 day stay we were awoken in the middle of the night thinking there was an air raid coming... I have no idea why they do it, it doesn’t make sense, but once you know what it is, you adjust, sort of. They also test it at noon, every single day. It’s worth it though, just ignore the siren, soak in the island life...”
Ray & Patty welcome you to this cozy country style with an eat in kitchen. You can cook farm fresh brown eggs and breakfast items provided. grill out doors enjoying some organic grass fed beef available at Spas farm just up the back road. relax on the front porch swing or sit beside the camp fire at your private fire pit. camp fire wood available. we're located across the road from camp Chautauqua and many attractions nearby.
“We were totally satisfied with this quaint, older (Ask Ray about the fascinating history.), sparkling clean, very comfortable cottage. Next trip to Chautauqua County, we will stay here again. Amenities were very nice. Bathroom is tiny, so best for a couple, yet otherwise plenty roomy with eat-in kitchen. Outdoor gas grill and a fire pit with wood. No direct feed for TV (No cable, no dish), so it took us a day to catch on. Once we did, it was fine. Wifi was good. We are old school, but if you have streaming services, I suppose you won't miss a beat. Very short drive over the bridge to Bemus Point, where you can spend a fun afternoon or evening in summer season. (Order some Buffalo wings.) Lakewood is maybe 15 minutes, Jamestown 25 min.? The picture doesn't reveal that the cottage is quite close to a road that circles the lake and the road has some regular (not constant) traffic during the day. This was absolutely no problem for us, and we live in the country with zero traffic. Only thing I might suggest is the addition of a picnic table out back for summer stays of more than a couple days. Hosts are very accommodating.”
Great location on Chatauqua Lake. Close to wineries, ski resorts, National Comedy Center, Lucille Ball,s home town, Cultural Chatauqua Institution, minutes from quaint little town, 15 minute drive to Lake Erie one of the Great Lakes. Niagara Falls is a great day trip .. don’t forget your passport... the Canadian side is stunning as well. Great local restaurants.. We have it all... great spring..summer.. fall.. and winter.
“HIGHLY recommend this place. The kitchen was FULLY equipped and had many extras! It was like staying at the home of a dear friend. Sparkling clean and comfortable. Honestly, it was so comfortable that my husband had to force me to leave the property! And the neighborhood was quiet, charming and friendly! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!”
