“Unforgettable experience! This isn’t just another airbnb, but a unique experience! Definitely a highlight of our trip in New Zealand, and in the couple decades of traveling in many countries, this is undoubtedly our favorite stay. Steph has created a wonderful place - comfortable, beautiful, peaceful. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to New Zealand, and this place is worth even a big detour from your road trip on the South Island. We came here with our little one, and we all loved how remote the place was, the views, the hundreds of sheep roaming around, the incredible sunset and sunrise, and the check-in experience - driving through farmland on ATV. Thank you Steph for creating this place and sharing it with us.”
Stay in a unique space in a unique location. Our Lotus Belle tent is perfect for a weekend getaway for two. Our tent is within walking distance of the Waikawa River, which surrounds our farm, if you're a keen fisherman or woman. Experience life on a New Zealand sheep farm in the beautiful Waikawa Valley, only 10 mins away from the world renown Petrified Forest and Curio Bay where you can swim with the endangered Hector's dolphins and Yellow Eyed Penguins.
“This was our first ever time glamping and would definitely stay here again. Absolutely exceeded expectations. The place was bigger than expected and all the wonderful touches was a pleasant surprise. Extra blankets, guitar, wool for knitting, books, board games, herb garden, solar charged lantins, 2 fire places - one inside the tent. Mashmello’s and pop corn for the fire 👍. We really appreciated the directions sent prior by Anna as her way (dirt road) was not picked up on our GPS. Google maps took us the long way. It was our first time to that part of NZ and we would recommend rain jackets, tramping boots and taking extra food supplies as food options we found were limited - however this was perfect for us. Maybe also milk if you want coffee or tea. There is no power everything is gas or solar which is incredible. We had a movie on our iPad and charged our phone in the car. Great place to get of the grid and enjoy the natural surroundings. We were not able to send or receive txt message or access internet which was perfect. Head out to cannibal bay or fortross if you want to see the sea lions AMAZING. We would also recommend a drive upto Nugget point lighthouse. Plenty to see and do along the way. Thankyou for sharing this very cool place for everyone to experience. We would highly recommend 🤗”
We have a cosy cabin (studio style) opposite our house with its own shower and toilet and basic cooking facilities (double hotplate, small fridge, microwave, electric jug and toaster). 5 minutes walk to river and beach. Simple breakfast supplies are provided for you to prepare your own morning meal; home made bread, local honey, butter, jam. Unfortunately we no longer have hens so cannot supply fresh eggs. There is a DVD player and good selection of movies to watch on a rainy day.
“Carols cabin at Papatowai in a delightful part of the Catlins is lovely. The amenities are good and it really is all you need and more. You will have a truly relaxing and restful time here and the fresh baked bread and local delicious honey, butter and jams for breakfast are great. The beautiful birdsong, hospitable Carol herself and Carol's lovely little dog Ginnie are perfect memories.”
