I live on a country dirt road in a 100+ year old New Hampshire farm house less than 5 miles from Mt Sunapee skiing and state beach. My guest accommodations feature a large private bedroom, private bath, and long private covered porch complete with rocking chairs. Guest quarts are separated from main house by shared entry with locking doors to each. Features a lovely view of the back side of Mt Sunapee, with nature pond and animals. Well-behaved and housebroken dogs on leash are considered.
“This was an ideal AirBnB experience. Heidi was available as needed but also respected our space and privacy. The room is very comfortable with a smart TV and space heater in addition to the Keurig stocked with coffee and tea which was so nice to have in the morning. And it was a joy to watch the goats out the window! We only stayed one night but it is definitely somewhere we want to return to! The location is fantastic for winter and summer activities in Mount Sunapee area.”
This is one of four rooms available for rent at the Captain Woodbury Guesthouse. The other three are located inside of the main house. This room is located behind our shop. PLEASE NOTE: It is more rustic than the other rooms. Although the room is very nice, with a comfortable bed and private entrance, the closest toilet is a privy and the available shower is outside. The shower is hot and directly outside of the room. It is suitable for one person.
“The "shed" is not like a shed at all in the room, except that one wall is unfinished studs. It is utilitarian, but just what I was looking for. I wanted fresh air and quiet, and I don't care about luxury appointments. This delivered in spades for a very affordable price. When you consider the value of the very fine breakfast, you're paying next to nothing for the room. I love hearing chickens in the yard. Don't forget to look up at night - the stars and milky way are bright when it's clear. The next time I need lodging in the area, this is my go-to place.”
The White Oak room contains one queen bed and is suitable for 1 or 2 guests. All of our guest rooms feature crisp 100% cotton sheets, fluffy duvets, pillow top mattresses, and restored antique furniture, and private bath with shower.
“I think aside from a blow-dryer we had everything we needed in this quaint and simple inn. Breakfasts were delicious, cooked by the host herself each morning, and we sincerely appreciate being allowed to check-in late and leave an hour past check out as well due to the storm. If you're considering local inns look no further- and be sure to check out MacLaomainn's Tavern for tasty cider and burgers just around the corner- open till midnight! I'm biased, but for anyone who cares about sustainability like I do, this place has a keen mind to it. Cheers, and thank you again.”
