“Our experience staying here for four nights was fabulous. Charming cottage near the national park. Numerous windows opening into rainforest for views from every room. We certainly felt like were off the beaten path. Rodrigo helped us arrange ( thru Trips Nativos) an early morning canoe tour through the National Park and a jungle night walk. Both were w Augusto, a local guide, skilled at finding animals. We saw sloths, dolphins, anteaters, monkeys, red eyed tree frogs and many birds. Good television in the cottage. Has cable tv w CNN. Also has Netflix. We brought an HDMI cable and were able to stream other content w laptop. Short walk to town. Bring back ice cream for freezer. Rodrigo also gave us restaurant recommendations that featured tasty meals. Comfortable bed w good fan for cooling air circulation.”
“Ladina and her husband were fantastic hosts. The space was clean and well furnished and we enjoyed our time sitting on the balcony listening to the rain. We even got to take a fantastic cooking class right on the premises and had some delicious Rundown. The room had excellent amenities, including fresh drinking water and coffee and tea upstairs. The only thing we wished the room had was AC but that is because we come from a freezing dry place and we are not used to the heat, but it was definitely worth staying there without it. It was also a little loud in the mornings with the roosters letting everyone know it’s time to get up. So if you’re a light sleeper it’s something to note. We are early risers so it wasn’t an issue for us. We would definitely stay at this place again in the future!!”
Habitaciones muy cómodas en un sector cálido para los huéspedes.
“Rafa’s cabin is nicely located at the forested edge of Tortuguero, yet a few minutes walk to the center of the village. Our room was clean and neat with two beds and an attached bathroom with shower. Rafa is the friendliest and funniest Airbnb host we have ever had and we have stayed with many wonderful people. He took us on a wonderful motorized boat tour in the jungles of 3 small rivers off the main canal. We saw lots of wildlife including sloths and juvenile caimans up close. Our first night at his place a female Jaguar walked the dirt path next to his house. Unfortunately we slept thru both the Jaguar’s roar and Rafa’s knocking on our door. Fortunately his house and yard is surrounded by a high chain link fence. I would hate to lose his two sweet tiny terriers to a hungry Jaguar. Stay at Rafa’s place to experience Pura Vida in Tortuguero!!!”
