Our home sits on one of the most beautiful streets in the entire neighborhood. We are 7 houses from Iroquois Park. It is terrific for walking, hiking, or just having a picnic. Welcome to the Shantyboathouse! Featured twice in the Courier-Journal, this property is uniquely one-of-kind and boasts a story even the Louisville Landmarks Commission couldn’t deny; which is why they awarded the property an historical plaque in 2019! The original newspaper article from 1976, the previous owners stated “The neighborhood legend about this house is that it just floated up the river in the ‘37 flood and somebody just built a foundation under it! They call it ‘the shanty boat’!

Located on beautiful Brashears Creek in the heart of Bourbon Country, this loft style cedar cabin makes a great central location to visit some local distilleries and wineries. It is also a great place to stay for anyone who might be in the area for a horse show or interested in antique shopping along Shelbyville's historical Main Street. My personal favorite thing to do at the cabin is enjoy the creek. The water level fluctuates significantly depending on the amount of rainfall received.

Cottage 16 is located in Edgewater Resort at Taylorsville Lake. We offer two bedrooms and two full baths. The master suite includes a king size bed, a private bath, and a personal entrance to the back deck and hot tub. The second bedroom features two sets of bunk beds, with an additional trundle bed underneath. The back porch is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your stay. Our cottage is fully furnished and ready for you! Limited lake view during full foliage!
