We had a great stay! The house offered a true glamping experience, the windows were screens so things felt a bit damp, the rainforest was very loud, and we had a little frog and geckos in the shower- but that was to be expected and was some of the charm!
We had some trouble locating the house itself. To be fair, we were arriving in the dark, but a touch more detail after locating the driveway would have been helpful as there were several paths that veered off the main one. However, I texted Mara and she immediately called to help us.
Mara was extremely responsive, even gave us live updates when the Volcano was erupting and when the best time to visit was!
One touch of advice, have your next morning planned out! Our phones showed we had service but nothing would load so it made planning the follow day a little difficult until we were closer to Hilo or Volcano.
Over all, we had a very memorable stay and are already nostalgic for the experience and the sounds of the rainforest!
