Loved the entire process. Both the master and his daughter are super thoughtful and made sure- we did each step correctly. This is a must do experience at the start of your trip so the book fills by the end.

The experience was fantastic. The knowledge from both Tsutomu & Yoko was amazing and knowing about the history of the machines, material, paper, glue and shrines was such an unforgettable experience. They were patient and kind.
I would definitely recommend this experience and will do it again when I return to Japan.

Firstly, I would recommend this class to everyone. I started doing Airbnb experiences while in Australia about 6 years ago and have done them in every country since. They are always my favorite part of every trip and worth the time and money spent. The opportunity to support local residents, learn and participate in their craft or expertise, and meet real and hardworking residents is unmatched.

Tsutomu and his daughter, Yoko, are not only knowledgeable but welcoming, kind, and a library of knowledge about their craft. This experience is not about just the act of making a stamp book but rather learning about their family’s history and the intention behind this endeavor.

I was in Japan for 2 weeks and this experience was my favorite part of the trip. I hope to return back one day and visit both Tsutomu and Yoko and want to thank them for being so welcoming and for sharing good conversation.

Do it. Do it, do it, do it. Best thing I’ve done since coming to Japan. Tsutomu is an incredible craftsman, as is Yoko, and Yoko does a wonderful job of keeping everything smooth and helping you understand the Japanese culture surrounding temples, goshoin, and the city of Kyoto better. The experience is stellar. You get to customise your book, you really do all the steps (with guidance) but I was almost surprised by how much of the work you do, and of course thats a good thing! It makes the process so satisfying and unique, it feels completely yours. I couldn’t recommend this experience any more. The workspace itself is gorgeous, the hosts are just wonderful, and the end product is such a unique and fulfilling thing to have. Thank the lord I stumbled upon this. Just book it.
