We are visiting Japan to celebrate 3 years of marriage, and this experience has truly been the highlight of our trip. It was something we will remember forever.

The experience was completely unique and unlike anything else we’ve done in Japan. It has been our favorite activity so far, and we’ve been here for a week doing something new almost every day.

The host is incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. She was friendly, patient, and deeply respectful. The setting is a beautiful traditional style studio where she offers her music lessons, which made the whole experience feel even more authentic.

This was an amazing value (priceless!) and an unforgettable part of our journey in Japan. We are so grateful for this experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

This was my second time with Yumi Sensei, she explained the different parts of the koto showed me how to tune and play a couple different songs and different techniques. Great value for the experience.

The highlight of our trip to Japan!
Yumi created a truly special experience for our family. Playing the koto, shamisen, and participating in tea ceremony brought us closer to understanding Japanese culture. Yumi was very knowledgeable, explaining each step in detail and answering all of our questions. Our ten-year-old son said playing the koto was his favourite part of the trip.

This experience was amazing! The host is such a talented musician who plays internationally and is very patient and encouraging teacher. The only thing that would have made this better was if I could have listened to her play longer. 10/10 would recommend if you are interested in music, have ever wanted to try and play a harp/stringed instrument, have any interest in the musical history, or just looking for a a fun few hours to try something truly uniquely Japanese.
