Escape to the Sehome Hill Arboretum, a 175.5 acre oasis located on the south side of Bellingham adjacent to the Western Washington University Campus. Wander along the trails through the native mature tree canopy.

Western Washington University and Fairhaven College in Bellingham. Established as an arboretum in 1967, Sehome Hill was protected from logging officially by members of Western's College Board of Trustees in May 1969. At first just 38 acres were protected, but then in 1974, that was expanded to 100 acre, and now visitors from all over can enjoy this gorgeous green space. Complete with overlook tower, informative trail signs, and an outdoor sculpture collection that is an excellent addition to any excursion to the Arboretum.
