A small coastal town 20 km south of Dubrovnik, well worth visiting for the scenic walk along the sea from one marina to the other, small caffé bars and restaurants or Cavtat's old town cemetery/mausoleum on top of a hill which offers a stunning view of the islands on the west side. A place very much loved by the locals from Dubrovnik both in winter and in summer. Reachable by local bus number 10 or a boat departing from the Old Town's port.

Cavtat is a beautiful small town situated 20km southeast from Dubrovnik. It is a peaceful place and it is a perfect spot to go for a riviera walk, for some great local food in many restaurants, or just to enjoy its crystal clear sea. Cavtat has a rich history and it is a home to many succesful Croats like Vlaho Bukovac (1855.-1922.), who is one of the most famous Croatian artists. Once you visit Cavtat we highly reccomend to take a walk and see the Račić family mausoleum that is one of the finest works of another outsdanding Croat, a sculptor Ivan Meštrović (1883.-1962.). In 2011., the European Best Destinations organization placed Cavtat on the 3rd place among 20 other cities like Vienna, Rome, Paris, Florence...

Wonderful small town on the coast, just a half an hour drive from Dubrovnik. Architecture, small yacht marina, lovely taverns and bars and walking areas all over, make this small coastal city a delight to visit
