Some great hikes begin at this trail head including one of the most popular Anchorage hikes FlatTop (and it’s only about 20 minutes away!). Flat top is a moderate trail but can be done in 2-3 hours and has fantastic views of anchorage. The power line pass trail also begins here and is pretty much flat but with great views of the valley.

"Get high on the Chugach" is a local saying people use a lot. No one is really sure what it means but if you like mountains, this is a good place to access all of the mountains.

Access to many trails, including the must-hike Flat Top mountain. Requires the purchase of a parking pass (can be paid for in the parking lot).

On a clear day you can get a great view of Denali just from walking up the fenced trail on the far left side of the parking lot. This is also the trailhead for Flat Top mountain.
