Tips from locals
Take a picnic or use the BBQs provided, spot some wallabies (dusk and dawn is best), view the ocean and explore the Darwin War Museum. Great play area for kids.
Rent our cheap bicycles (15 Min.to East Point) and watch the wallabies (like kangaroos) in the morning or evening, while you are going for a walk. Combine that walk with a visit in the Military Museum
One of the most beautiful places in Darwin to have a walk. Enjoy the wonderful coastline, spot Wallabies and tropical birds or have a picknick along the coast. And don’t forget to watch the beautiful sunset at East Point.
Must see spot for sunset. 5km walking loop. Take the mangrove boardwalk for a real mangrove experience. The rock cliffs and colourful layered colours are a must see.
Unless you want exercise you would drive out here. The big attraction here is The Military Museum. There is lots to see and discover. The highlight is the information and old movies of the bombing of Darwin. The Japanese Fleet that attacked Hawaii came to Darwin shortly after and actually dropped more bombs on Darwin. Find out all about it.
