Tips from locals
Another foodies’ treat,by The Shore.There’s also a lovely bar,if you’d just like a drink.The cocktails are impressive!
Tom Kitchin uses French techniques on Scottish produce in refined, chic converted whisky warehouse.
Don’t be put off by Michelin stars. This is the best restaurant in town and well worth the money especially the lunch taster menu. Book well in advance though. Not stuffy or fussy-just great food and service in a great ambience.

“Royal residency and armory of King James I. The building would be restored by Queen Mary in her reign & later becomes a plague hospital. Granted to Bernhard Lindsay in 1613 by King James VI, bestowing upon him the right to reconstruct the building and keep four taverns on the site. Complete with ghostly presence in the basement this building has stood in the heart of Leith for almost 600 years.”
