Walk from the Castle at the top of the Royal Mile down to Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament at the bottom, stopping at the many museums, coffee shops, restaurants and bars on the way. During August there is street theatre half way down the Royal Mile - well worth a visit

The older history of Edinburgh is everywhere you turn on this street. From Edinburgh Castle at the top down to Holyrood Palace you’ll find Gladstone’s Land, specialist and artisan shops and traditional bars and restaurants. If you have a peek down some of the ‘Closes’ you’ll not be disappointed! World famous for a reason!

The Royal Mile is Edinburgh's most famous street. It connects Edinburgh Castle (to the west) with the Palace of Holyroodhouse (to the east). Yes there's a castle, but there's more! Unique experiences, quirky shops and incredible views - well worth a wander.

The most famous street in Edinburgh, filled with pubs, restaurants, and shops. It runs from the castle to Holyrood palace. There are a number of historical sites to check out along the way, such as St Giles' Cathedral, John Knox House and The Heart of Midlothian.
