This is the oldest coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Your host is a Beerman, but if you are more in for a joint, visit this place. It’ s located near the Business School campus. Nice to stroll around there. The studentsrestaurant over the canal is a nice place. It has only one electricity contact. My advise 10 years ago (-;

If you want the Coffeeshop Experience, you don't need to go far. Nice, local atmosphere with board games.

Founded in 1978, Het Ballonnetje is a beautiful, cosy coffeeshop located right in front of the Amsterdam University. The menu contains a wide selection of some of the best Cannabis flower and Hash in Amsterdam.
