Heaneys is a chilled, relaxed bar restaurant situated in the heart of Pontcanna. Around 10 minutes walk . They serve creative cocktails, extensive wines and sample or sharing plates. A very worthy Winner of The Wales Food Awards 2019.

Chef proprietor is Tommy Heaney of Great British Menu fame. Excellent food from a small plates, sharing style menu. About a 20 minute walk or hop on a 61 bus.

“Best for: Casual dining, kid-friendly Twenty years ago, Russell Bullimore (no prizes for guessing his nickname) opened a classic French-style bistro to showcase the kind of food that he loved, and no one has grown tired of it since. A meticulously sourced list of wines hand-picked from appellations all over France helps to complete the authentic Gallic mood, aided no end by a randomly assembled, themeless art collection that calls to mind semi-fictional Parisian brasseries where penniless artists paid for food with their canvasses. Starters from £5, mains from £15.”

“A long time favourite of ours. Catalan food and wine served Tapas style or from a traditional style starter, main and pudding menu. Only open Wednesday to Saturday but well worth finding the opportunity to eat here. 1.4 miles to district of Canton. 61 bus stop at bottom of Wyndham Crescent is only a couple of minutes away from the restaurant.”
