An easy walking hike through the UNESCO World Heritage Site, can take roughly 1 hour or up to 3 hours, depending on the routes you choose and how much of the park you want to explore. In the heart of Praslin, the reserve has the vestiges of a natural palm forest preserved in almost its original state. The famous Coco de Mer, from a palm-tree once believed to grow in the depths of the sea, is the largest seed in the plant kingdom.

It's the place on earth where the world's biggest nut grows naturally. The famous black parrots are only found there. Many endemic species of palm trees, insects, birds plants. The faune and flora ate exceptional.

A visitor centre is open with displays that give you a good understanding of how special this World Heritage Site is. A guided tour is much better than fighting your way around yourself and missing once in a lifetime opportunities to see flora & fauna that is endemic; and sometimes particular to these few square miles of rainforest. Be prepared for a stiff walk. You may even see a rare Black Parrot! There is a good walk which starts on the left side of the road a few hundred metres before the visitor centre if travelling from Baie St. Anne. It may be signposted as Glacis Noir.
