i will make check in for you guys so i will be there to have a chat with you about this amazing place.
With very narrow and old streets, Alfama is older than Portugal itself. This is where "fado" was born and the best place to listen it in Lisbon if not in Portugal.
The Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon, spreading on the slope between the São Jorge Castle and the Tejo river. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning "hot fountains" or "baths". It contains many important historical attractions, as well as an abundance of Fado bars and restaurants.
Wander downhill (to save your legs) through Alfama's steep, narrow, cobblestoned streets and catch a glimpse of the more traditional side of Lisbon before it too is gentrified. Linger in a backstreet cafe along the way and experience some local bonhomie without the tourist gloss.
One of Lisbon's oldest neighborhoods, this neighborhood is full of charm and stunning view points.
